  1. Glad I'm not the only one LOL, only did it because my MU's talent was ninja.
  2. I meant killing them off at the last chapter because in my playthrough, Alec and Sylvia became lovers at chapter 4 but if that won't give you the substitudes then I'll just accept it. It was really my fault, I made them talk to each other in chapter 2 despite knowing it will give them Love Points
  3. Yeah, same happened to me on my first playthrough ATM, Alec married Sylvia. I heard you can just kill him/her off at the last chapter and it will be alright. Not sure if it works or not.
  4. I would say Genealogy of the Holy War due to how popular Game of Thrones is right now. The only problem is deciding whether or not all the child and substitutes should be introduced to the story, heck even if it was a Netflix series I would be cool with it.
  5. Thanks a bunch! I'll try and pair Levin with Fury. Unfortunately Azel cannot afford the Paragon and he has trouble fighting the myrmidons in the Arena. I'll try and make him visit some villages, then once Fury reaches a high level, warp her and Azel back to the castle, sell the ring and if Azel can afford the paragonand maybe the speed ring if he isn't RNG screwed I'll try work with him. Yeah, I'm about 30% winging it to be honest, The only pairings I'm considering are Levin X Fury and Azel X Aideen. The only reason I asked about pairing is because that according to a you tuber I follow, he mentions that unlike Awakening where it's hard to mess up a child units stats, I can happen much easily in FE4. So I wanted to make sure my run of FE4 is a good one, which so far it is despite missing out on the Knight and Bargain Ring in chapter 2. One more thing actually, I heard people usually stop mid way in gen 2, then play Thracia 776, then come back to FE4 again. Is it worth doing that in terms of getting to know the story more or best wait till I beat the FE4 first?
  6. I really liked what Brianna Knickerbocker and Angela Marie Volpe brought to their characters. I can see them going far in their VA careers and if there is one thing I can praise about Nintendo Treehouse's choices is that they are giving new talent to the industry.
  7. Hey I just started my first playthrough last week of FE4 and I'm currently on Chapter 3 arena grinding. I do have a few questions to: Are their any substitute units in Gen 2 worth getting? How do you make units become lovers, is there a conversation you have to activate? I'm aware it has something to do with love points but is there away to figure how many love points both units have and what's a good way to gain love points? Which pairing should be avoided at all costs? Any tips for leveling up dew without the paragon ring? Speaking of paragon ring, which unit is best suited with the ring: Fury, Levin, Ayra or Azel? Should I sell the pursuit ring that Arden got? Can someone give me a list of good weapons that children can inherit? Cheers in advance.
  8. Nina!Beruka did me wonders when I used Nina as a bow knight in Conquest, I would waiting till Niles can pass down Lucky Seven before you recruit her though and Shuriken Breaker will make Conquest 25 much easier to some extent. If you rather have an adventurer though that's OK, while admit that is the better choice for most people you really can't go wrong with either option anyway.
  9. It's a Dragonball Z reference to one of the most over the top scenes in the Anime. [spoiler=Android Saga]
  10. Xander: Decent unit, but he is a massive hypocrite. He warns Corrin about how Hans is a criminal that shouldn't be trust, says the guy who hired a psychopath who will kill anyone for fun called Peri as a retainer, oh wait, in their S support turns out that he hired her because he thought she was hot. He holds the most useful personal weapon in the game, second t the Omega Yato and a good ninja killer despite the weapon disadvantage. I like his Charlotte supports. Asugi: Despite me not using him that much, he's probably my favorite of the Awakening doppelgangers. Yeah he has Gaius's sweettooth but aleast with they made it so that he is part of a long line of ninjas, so they gave him some character for that and some conflict for him. Shiro: This guy is cool, great relationship with his dad, a tanky spear master. I really ship him with Caeldori because of their good supports and how they both feel over shadowed by their fathers talents. Siegbert: I like how him and Shiro both follow 2 common traits in past FE lords. Shiro is the prince that's immature, arrogant and reckless but has a more laid back approach like Hector and Ike. Siegbert is mature and polite but takes his royal duties to seriously like Marth and Eliwood. But anyway, Siegbert is alright, hated him at first because he reminded me of a certain blonde asshole of a prince in a popular fantasy series. Good unit but is more easily overshadowed out of the royal sons due him not being able to use his fathers weapon.
  11. Alm (FE2) Finn (fe4) Othin (FE5) Rutger (FE6) Raven (FE7) L'Arachel (FE8) Nephenee (FE9) Shinon (FE10) Marth (FE11) Abel (FE12) Cordelia (FE13) Kaze (FE14)
  12. Bromances Odin and Laslow Takumi and Leo Keaton and Kaden Kaze and Male Corrin Arthur and Benny Sismance Orochi and Kagero Caeldori and Sophie Sakura and Elise Rhajat and Mitama Nina and Soleil
  13. Saizo would be an urgent case since he almost tried to blow himself up in Revelations. Kagerou should get an appointment soon as her time with Kotaro may have given her Stockholm Syndrome.
  14. Hinoka's my favourite of the siblings, but I'll admit she has very little impact to the story. At least the map where you fight her for the last time is awesome. *EDIT* In fact, I heard somewhere that Hinoka was added at the final stages of development. Not only that, but I think Kagerou was originally going to be the Hoshidan older sister until someone sketched Hinoka, the developers loved it and made her one of the sibling characters.
  15. FE14 introduced a new method of reclassing with the use of Heart Seals. What's interesting about this item is that the class that the unit becomes is based on their personality and if you include child units, the class that their parents pass on. For example, Charlotte, who's default class is Fighter, has a habit of acting frail and weak in the presence of men but ultimately fails most of the time, can reclass into a weak and frail troubadour as a nod to her character. Not only do I find this a fun and balanced way of reclassing in Fire Emblem, but this feature makes me wonder: if this feature appeared in the older games, what class could they have been? I have made a list of a few suggestions that I've come up with and you're more than welcome to post your own suggestions in this topic as well. 1. Renault from FE7 can reclass into a Hero. This is a hint at his past were he mentions that he was a ruthless killer and his strange growths for a Bishop. 2. Vanessa (FE8) can reclass into the mage promotion line due to her reserved nature and her ability to act calm under pressure. 3. Farina (FE7) can reclass into a mercenary due to her obsession with making a decent living from the right employer. 4. Roger (FE3) can reclass into a cavalier in a desperate attempt to impress a girl, like Shiida. 5. Finally, Nino can reclass into a myrmidon, as a reference to her idolizing her "brothers" growing up. So yeah, this is just a thread so folks can say what heart seal options unit could of had if they existed.
  16. Setsuna: Pretty forgettable, her victory lines are funny. But her as a retainer makes me question Hinoka's taste in employees. I've yet to see her support with Hinoka but I'll get to that another time. A very good mother for children with high skill and speed. Soleil: I just don't see the hate with this character, OK there is a controversial support with her and male Corrin in the Japanese version and her thing for girls despite not being bisexual is weird, but aside from that she's a decent unit. Maybe I'm a bit biased because she was my daughter in my first Conquest play through and her supports with Ophelia are so funny. Recommend having Beruka as the mother as she makes her a tanky Hero and makes the supports hilariously awkward. Reina: Never used her, but I don't hate her. No opinion.
  17. To be fair, I've yet to play the Tellius games, but I heard alot of good things about Reyson.
  18. Kaze: My favourite character in Fates. A great speed demon, almost invincible with Jakob's Tray, his supports usually turn out good, even his supports with Peri and Effie are pretty decent and a must have in your Conquest team. I do admit him siding with Nohr in Conquest was forced, I get that they probably wanted to make sure the consumer gets to use the new ninja class in all routes, but they could have made him join Nohr at a better time. How about he joins in Chapter 12 after hearing how Ryoma would rather let Elise die than give Corrin access to the medicine without violence, then Kaze argues with Ryoma and goes "You know what? You didn't care if I died in Krakenberg and are becoming an ill moral leader, screw you sire, I'm joining Nohr"! OK, that's not how it would be like word for word but you know the idea. I do find his sacrifice in BR a dick move, at least give a better warning in the chapter before. Azama: One of the more underrated characters in Fates. I usually like the smart asshole type characters and he is no exception. It's almost as if they hired the creators of Archer to design an monk. His solo ending is awesome and becomes a monster when he's a greatmaster. I hope they are more supports that he has like Effies where he actually gets outplayed. Gunter: Proof that an FE character doesn't need good stats to be an interesting character. Love DC Douglas has done with his character. He's better in Revelations That's all I have to say about him. Azura: Arguably the best dancer in the series, but the most boring of the royal characters and the fact that she could of stopped the deaths of so many innocents BR and CQ by simply telling Corrin about the main cause of the war is what keeps her from being a reasonable character. Mozu: Not a bad unit, but training her gets very boring and making her a dread fighter is very cheap IMO. I prefer Donnell more because the idea of a rootin'tootin farm boy turning into a godly hero is hilarious. Yukimura: My least favourite of the Corrinsexuals. For Hoshido's tactician, he acts very childish when he doesn't get his way. His quote when you fight him in Chapter 6 Conquest does tug a string though.
  19. Heroes are kind of nerfed in the newer games despite having very good skill sets. In the older games, they are a different story.
  20. Sweet, just as I was about to start my first playthrough of this, hopefully I can get the patching done by tonight.
  21. Nina: I fucking love this girl, haven't married her before but definitely in a second play through. Her paralogue is the best in the game, her relationship with Niles is very well structured, if you can raise her right she will make Master Ninja's her bitches, Bow Knight Nina will help you beat that stupid Chapter 24 Revelations without alerting the guards and she was a life saver in Chapter 25 and the Endgame in Conquest. I actually tolerate her boy on boy fantasy trope more than Soleils gimmick, because I rarely see her mention it in a sexual way and it comes of as her being into bromances and c'mon we all love a bit of bromance once in a while. Her Robin Hood design is very cute and I ship her with Forrest so much. If I can think of one thing about her I really don't like about her is her model in MyRoom, her face looks like a lizard... Dwyer: I want to like this guy so much, but it's so hard to make him a better butler than his dad without having aptitude. By his design, he would be a fitting candidate for a Ghost Type Gym Leader in Pokemon. I like how he comes of as a slacker but he at least does his job, especially in his Kiragi C support and the rivalry between him and Jakob is funny.
  22. 1. I want a lord who is cunning in an asshole kind of way, like Leo. 2. I don't care if he or she has blue hair, but maybe go back to Roy/Eliwood's style. 3. Make the hero have to work their way to be a strong leader, instead of giving the silver spoon because of their inheritance. 4. Make the hero face an obstacle and make him or her feel like shit about it. 5. They can have siblings but don't have too many or at least have 1 or 2 that are playable units to keep the incest themes to a minimum.
  23. off, but I have games with items on just to take a break from the competitive scene and when playing with friends.
  24. Hisame: Like his father, he's a nice guy and his personal skill is awesome. I can understand how he get's embarrassed with Hinata's behaviour and I've yet to see what he's written in his diary in his mother supports. It's a shame that no matter what default class you promoted him to you won't get great results. Like Kiragi, I find him to be a fitting brother for Shigure. Also, what's with the obsession with pickles? Is he the anti Chris Chan or something? Camilla: Oh boy, here we go. She's interesting, she's reliable in bother Conquest and Revelations, An early prepromote done right, A monster when she becomes a Wyvern Lord, General and Berserker, but my god is she creepy. OK, I'll admit, when I saw her in the trailers I was like "I'm picking Conquest because I wanna marry her", but there was this side of me that wanted to wait until I hear some of her dialogue and thank god I did. Niles is a creep, but his backstory can establish this well, it's played for laughs, not for cringe and he even admits he has a problem with saying things wrong. The fact that Camilla act's very incestuous toward Corrin (who is suppose to be you, the player) makes my skin crawl. The best way to describe the dark side of her is in the words of Misato Katsuragi's english VA: "You cleaned his tonsils with your tongue, that's not a very motherly thing to do". Tharja was obsessed with Robin, but the fact that Robin and Tharja were not raised as siblings makes it play out well and make it seem like the "girl with the high school crush" scenario. Plus, the fact that Robin had amnesia and he and Tharja were brought up Plegia can raise headcannons as to whether or not they were childhood friends or something and Tharja is trying to help him remember. I love her supports with Ryoma as he tries to talk sense into her about Corrin's independence, for laughs I married her with Benny in CQ, because I'm a sucker for the Beauty and the Beast trope and all I can say is that Camilla is one of the best mothers in the game, because of how balanced her stat mods are. I would say my favourite moments are her performance in Chapter 13 in BR, here fitting arriving in the awesomeness that is Chapter 10 CQ and her smack talk to Takumi in the earlier chapters. Design wise, it's OK despite being very fan servicy, but if she wasn't Corrin's step sister, she may have been a better character and the fan service would be more acceptable instead of being fetish material. But hey, she's a top tier unit in CQ that's for sure. Izana: I want to be friends with this guy, very funny, he's literally The Emperor's New Groove in an FE game. I actually believe in the headcannon that he faked his death in Revelations just so he can guilt trip Takumi into helping Corrin. Love his default portrait. Unit wise, meh, good rally bot but his personal skill sucks.
