  1. Yeah, that would make sense if they're going to add a Brave-type tome. Wonder what color Celica'll be though... Wonder what they'll give Alm for a special weapon tho. I never played Gaiden (but I'd love to pick up Echoes when it comes out), so I dunno if he got a special sword of any kind (but it wouldn't surprise me if he did). Also, just saw the update, and I can't complain. Between this and finally having enough orbs to summon again (just in time for the new banners!), I'm pretty happy about today's progress.
  2. THREE IKES!? THREE!? I thought they were just gonna do a "regular" one based on Radiant Dawn Ike, and a "special" one based on Path of Radiance Ike since that's the Ike that won the poll. How are they gonna differentiate between three Ikes with Ragnell? Although, now I want to try my hand at making a Greil (probably not that good, to be honest)... Also, here's an Ashnard, because he'd be a neat Great Hero Battle too if that ends up just being villains (and continuing to be a nonindicative name).
  3. I mostly agree, but it's easier to differentiate between multiple Ikes if they have different weapon types as well as different skill sets. Unless Greil shows up (maybe as a Great Hero Battle? It would be cool, and Greil probably has a better claim to being a great hero than Narcian). Then both Ikes (since we're probably getting two Ikes after he took first place and top five in the Choose Your Legends poll) would be best with Ragnells (though perhaps each Ike could have different Ragnell perks: for example, one Ike could have Ragnell with Distant Counter, while one could have Defense +4 when Ike initiates combat).
  4. @Alpha WolvesThanks for posting the template! Made writing these out much easier. Just gonna give descriptions (High > Great > Good > Okay > Low) rather than stat-numbers though, since I'm no good with those. So here's Path of Radiance Ike (with Ragnell, because at least one Ike needs to have Ragnell: this one's more balanced than the Radiant Dawn Ike below, and focuses more on Speed) Radiant Dawn Ike (with Axes, because I wanted an Ike with Urvan, since I don't see Greil happening: tried for a more powerful, slower, less-Resistance-having Ike) And Mist (Not gonna bother making different movesets for her PoR and RD appearances: she's something of a fighter-healer-hybrid-thing like she was in the games I think, and also an attempt at a balanced unit with Distant Counter... doubt this will end with a good unit, but ah well)
  5. Was that Fae attacking you? And if so, what made FEH's AI do something so stupid? Seriously Lucina is about to deal just under 150 damage here. On a unit with a little below 50 HP. Was there another unit nearby that could finish your Lucina off? Because otherwise this is the stupidest thing I've ever seen a chicken do. On a kinda-related note, how do you take pictures of your game?
  6. I think it depends on whether or not you really want anyone who's part of the current focus, really, since everyone'll probably still be available after the current focus ends (though you won't be as likely to get the current focus characters, since they I don't think they're part of the next focus). If you don't, then save your orbs for the next banner. If you do, start grinding Lunatic maps for orbs for a quick pull and hope you get lucky.
  7. Wait, the 16th? Aren't the current banners expiring tomorrow? That's kinda odd, I expected that any new characters/chapters/other stuff would be debuting with the new banners, not slightly afterward. Still, good to hear there's new characters coming soon. Speaking of stuff being added, y'know what I'd like to see added? A way to cure debuffs. Besides waiting for them to expire, I mean. Maybe one of the new Staff units could do that with their healing?
  8. RED: Roy (5*). I pulled him fairly early on, and at first I was hesitant to use him since I had Lyn. But then I did anyway, because favoritism, and damn this guy can wreck dudes. Pretty much anything that isn't either a non-Green knight or a Blue non-mage gets murdered by Roy, and his actually-alright defenses make him more likely to survive than Lyn too, which is quite a plus. Also he has Seal Defense 3, which is a beautiful thing to combine with Jeorge (or just make sure Roy wins on the next attack). Possibly my best unit at the moment (though being really weak against Blues does hurt him quite a bit). Honorable Mentions: Lyn (5*) who I've had since Day 1. She carried me through Normal Story and she's probably the unit I've used the most, but now Roy has surpassed her. Maybe she'll get better with Galeforce, I dunno, but for now she's taking a back seat to Roy. Marth (5*) who is a recent acquisition, but he has a monstrous Attack stat and self-healing via Falchion. His defenses are a bit questionable right now, but he's a ways behind Roy and Lyn, so I could see that improving in the future. He's probably not getting Roy's spot on my main team, but I might switch him in if I expect to fight dragons, or need someone a bit more survivable than Roy (thanks to that self-heal). Hana (4*) murders Knights easily, does solid damage and doubles a lot, but she doesn't take hits well at all. So she's exactly how I remember her being in Fates. Gonna train her up further for when we inevitably get a Knight-heavy special map, so I have a good Red unit for that. BLUE: Robin (4*). Bit of a shaky start, to the point where I briefly benched him for F!Corrin, but I've since brought him back, and between magic damage, WTA over colorless, and Spur Defense, he's really pulled his weight. And by "really pulled his weight" I mean he's probably my best unit at the moment (it's him or Roy, really). HM: Shanna (4*) is a speedy, near-magic-proof and surprisingly strong flyer (especially with Killer Lance + Iceberg). She can't compete with Robin's utility to my team, but I could see myself using them together in the future. Female Corrin (4*) is a good tank with solid debuffs, but something about her just wasn't working for me. I'll make her work some day tho. GREEN: I don't have one right now. Training up Narcian (looks promising, like a green Roy on wings, except not quite as good as Roy) and Cecilia (so slow and kinda fragile, but maybe she'll improve) tho. GREY: Jeorge (4*). A pretty solid archer with an Attack debuff and Speed aura. He's not as good as Roy or Robin unless there are flyers about, and even then he occasionally isn't enough (like against Narcian...), but he's still pretty solid (mostly for his Skills). HM: Lissa (3*), Clarine (4*), Serra (3*): My healers. All of them have been useful to me (Lissa I got in my first pull, she did pretty well until I got Clarine, Clarine works when I need a more mobile healer, Serra gives me big heals), but I wouldn't put any of them over Jeorge.
  9. Lyn (First pull! Carried me through Normal Story for the most part, she's pretty good. Considering swapping her out for Marth/Roy though) Roy (The other one I wanted from the first focus! He's pretty good, I've used him in the Arena & some Hard maps, and I needed him for getting Narcian. He's gonna replace Lyn on my primary team unless Marth amazes me) Marth (Recently! Already pulled a 4-Star with Lyn, but this one's much better! Better stats (and way better Attack), more skills, self-healing and dragon-murder via Falchion... though I wish his defenses were better...) Peri (Pulled with Marth. Was gonna use her, but then I got Shanna in my last pull and I prefer her skill set so Peri's keeping the bench warm for now).
  10. Echoing a few other posters here, Shanna's surprised me. I hadn't played FE6, but given that she's a pegasus knight, and those rarely work out for me, I wasn't expecting much from her. But she's actually pretty great, with her Killer Lance and Iceberg and actually solid Resistance and Speed and a decent Attack stat. And she can fly, which is nice. And I like her chatter. Gotta train her up some, but if I can avoid maps with Archers in the Training Tower, that shouldn't be too difficult. Also, Wrys. He can't fight, but he can heal my whole team with a single use of his staff, which is pretty useful. Gotta train him up a little more, but (between Heavenly Light and Slow) he'll probably be one of a rotating set of go-to healers for my A team soon enough (alongside Lissa, Serra and Clarine, all of whom I expected to be good).
  11. Neither of these things would surprise me, though I'd think it's more likely that Seliph and Julia will be the focus of a Genealogy chapter and Eirika & Ephraim will be the focus of a Sacred Stones chapter. It's possible that they could split Genealogy into two chapters (first for Sigurd and Gen 1, second for Seliph and Gen 2) with a Sacred Stones chapter in the middle, but I think we'll only get two at most (plus I dunno if we're getting Sigurd next week, and if we don't then we can't have a second chapter for his gen now can we?). And yeah, that makes sense for the next banner focuses... except that I'd expect Ike to come with the rest of Tellius... Unless he came early, thus freeing up a spot for another Tellius character to get in on the Tellius banner focus (I can think of Elincia and Micaiah getting on the banner in that event, possibly alongside Sigurd and maybe Leif if we don't get Gen 1 Jugdral characters with Seliph and Julia, and Leif getting on the banner could lead to some Thracia characters getting added then too). I'd like that, actually, and now I'm hoping that it happens.
  12. Right now I'm alternating between training up Narcian (and Olivia) and clearing Chapter 4 Lunatic for Orbs, so I've been using him quite a bit lately. Before getting Narcian, my only Green units worth using were Cherche, who was good (especially for Knight killing) but way too fragile for my liking (NO SPEED + NO RESISTANCE = NO USE) and Cecilia, who has crap Speed and Defense right now, but I've been using her a bit more lately and I feel like I was underestimating her earlier. I didn't really have a good Axe user before grabbing Narcian (like I said, Cherche was just too fragile, I don't want a unit who's just going to die every time anyone looks at her funny), so being able to pick him up (at 2 Stars, no way I could pull off Hard) was a great thing. Despite my motivation for getting Narcian being "Replace Cherche," I've found that stat-wise he's much more... balanced than Cherche*. Narcian doesn't have Cherche's monstrous Attack and considerable Defense, but he also doesn't have her craptacular Speed and single-digit Resistance**. His Emerald Axe makes him deal great damage to Blue enemies, and Lancebreaker lets him double Lancers automatically at high HP to make him capable of crushing anyone with a Lance (except possibly Knights, not sure how he'll do against those). He has Savage Blow to damage enemies near his target, softening them up for other units to take out. Finally, he gets Retribution and Vengeance, which make him dangerous at low HP as well. Still, he's not an amazing unit. Being a flyer, Narcian doesn't want to face arrows (he can probably survive one arrow, but more than one and he's screwed), and with the Emerald Axe, he really doesn't want to be fighting Red units either (since Emerald Axe deals far less damage against Red units than against Green/Colorless units, and way less than against Blues). Also, while his Resistance is alright, you probably don't want him to be tanking magic hits (except maybe Blue magic, and even then I wouldn't want to rely on that), and his so-so Speed will probably be a problem down the road. Overall, Narcian is a flying anti-Blue nuke, and he does a stellar job of nuking Blues and especially Lances, but you probably won't get much more out of him than that. As for me, I like Narcian. I needed an Axe unit and a flier, and Narcian covers both of those things, so I'm pretty happy. Of course even if he were terrible I'd still like him for the voicework. Kaiji Tang nails exactly how... huge-ego-ish (I know there's a word for this, but it's just not coming to me) I expected Narcian to be, and it is glorious. That alone makes Narcian worth suffering through his map. Also his damaged art. That face. *I dunno how Narcian's stats will end up at 5-Star Level 40 or anything, I'm just going off of my Narcian and my Cherche for the stats. **I'm sure Cherche's Resistance will go over 10 at some point, but I stopped when she was 4-Star Level 24 and had 10 Speed and 8 Resistance. That is unacceptable.
  13. That's great, mate! Actually, I'm kinda surprised Nowi couldn't handle the chokepoint of doom. Still, Merric being able to makes sense, from my Robin experience. And, yeah, from the sound of it, you needed Lissa's healing ability more than Felicia's debuffing. So, glad I could help. And also, Kaiji Tang did a great job making Narcian sound every bit as... huge-ego-ed (I know there's a word for this, it's just not coming to me) as I expected him to sound. That alone made suffering through this map worth it (though Narcian turning out to be a pretty alright unit is also good for me).
  14. So, not sure this is the right thread, but it's a Heroes question, so... Is Female Robin able to be summoned yet? I haven't seen her in the Arena, or anywhere except that one chapter where she's an enemy with Donnel.
  15. Ah, thanks, mate! Although, Felicia does have strengths (from what I have on my 3-Star Felicia, she has great Resistance (and the Resistance + skills to bolster it further), and probably good Speed, debuffs are probably nice, and Breath of Life lets her heal nearby allies after combats, so she can be a supportive Mage-killer, but her low Defense is a problem, and I'm not sure she can deal any damage because I don't use her much any more), they just don't help enough to justify using her here (from my experience, with no flying unit, you need a Red for Narcian-baiting, two durable units, and a healer, and while Felicia could maybe act as a healer and deal with those mage-cavs if she could handle combat, you probably don't want to risk her getting attacked by the archer, I'm not sure she'd survive it). Unless you meant that your Felicia's Attack hadn't grown since you got her, in which case, ouch. If that's not the case though, you could probably make her work if Lissa just isn't growing fast enough. I wouldn't recommend it, but if you have to, I'm sure it can be done (on Normal, anyway). Good to hear Merric can probably work in Robin's place. I was kinda worrying about that, and having a lot of HP probably makes him a little better for this map than my Robin was. Also, your Nowi has Lightning Breath, right? Because that gives her the ability to counter at 1 and 2 range so she can counterattack the mage-cavs and the sword fighter (which you probably want). You should try to get her that before you attempt Narcian.
  16. I beat the Normal map a couple days ago, though with a higher-leveled team (4-Star M!Robin, 5-Star Lyn, 5-Star Roy, 3-Star Serra, all around Level 28 except Serra), but yours seems better suited to this map (mainly because you have Nowi) and here's my advice: 1) Bring Lissa. You're gonna need healing, at least if my experience is any indication. And give her Imbue, too, unless you really need the extra attack power. 2) For other party members, Ogma's a good choice for Narcian-slaying, and Nowi and Merric are probably good for tanking in the mountain chokepoint (it's on the left, right above where you start). Bench Felicia for this one. 3) First turn, put Nowi out on the first square that can be hit by enemies in the chokepoint (I don't remember where exactly that is, sorry) so she can tank the sword fighter and the mage-cav (I was able to do this with M!Robin, so you should be able to make that strat work better with Nowi if she can survive the turn), move Ogma directly below Narcian as far up as he can go (should be obstructed by mountains, that's okay) so that when Narcian starts moving he should start moving toward Ogma. 3.5) If Nowi can't handle the first turn assault, maybe put Merric up there instead if he has good Defense (to tank a WTA-boosted hit from the sword fighter), then pull him back and have Nowi occupy the square below where he was so she can tank. 4) Second turn, Pull Nowi back and have Lissa heal her, then have Merric go one square below where Nowi was and damage the sword fighter (might be able to finish him off after Nowi... dunno if he'll be able to tank the sword fighter if he can't kill, but he should be able to if he has good defense... I'm kinda basing this on my experience with my M!Robin's better-than-it-probably-should-be Defense). Don't move Ogma unless Narcian isn't going directly toward him (which I've heard he should, but he went left on my successful run and I had to bait him with Roy, so I dunno if that'll work for certain, you'll have to try it yourself, sorry). 5) On the second or third Enemy Phase, Narcian should kill himself on Ogma, freeing him up to go after the mage-cavs and archer who should funnel themselves down the chokepoint with the rest of your party. If Narcian moves left, you'll have to change this strategy since he'll murder Nowi free (and maybe Merric, dunno about that because I don't have Merric... or Nowi, or anyone on the team I'm recommending for you except Lissa, haha). 6) After this, it just comes down to your team vs. the mage-cavs (if they're alive, which they might be, both were on my run) and the archer (who should be alive, I think, unless maybe he goes after Nowi and dies when she Lightning Breaths him). I think you should be alright with just putting Nowi and Merric out there and having Lissa heal them, but I dunno, you may want to have Ogma nearby in case you need someone to tank an archer hit (I had Robin kill one mage-cav, and my 1/2-HP Lyn and barely-over-1/2-HP Roy finished the other mage-cav and the archer after tanking an archer hit). I dunno if any of this will actually help you, but that's what I'm thinking you could do.
  17. I think that Zacharias guy is supposed to be someone unrelated to Alfonse's hero friend. I have no evidence for this, but it'd make sense (doubt they'd have to go searching for Zacharias if he's just another hero, since then they could just have the player roll a whole bunch of heroes until you summon him, yeah?). Although, who knows? I had that crossed-out sentence there in my last post for a reason... ... Now, for a pulling-related question. Are we still gonna be able to pull the current selection of characters once the banners change? I'm not familiar with gacha-type games, so I'm kinda worried that I should be rushing through early Lunatic mode right now (which I'm fairly certain I can do) to get orbs for a quick summon session while the current banner is up. Not because I want anyone on the current banners (I already have Lyn, Marth, Robin and Roy, which is everyone I wanted from this banner and Robin, so I'm set for this banner), but because I'm worrying that I won't be able to get the Elibe/Archanea/Awakening/Fates characters after the 14th, and there are still a few that I haven't been able to pull (Nino, Nowi, Sakura).
  18. Tellius probably is more popular than Jugdral, which IMO makes sense since Jugdral never got released outside Japan (to my knowledge, am I wrong about this?), and I could see it being more popular than Magvel simply because it got two games to Magvel's one. Tellius'll probably get released in March, and then they'll start filling in the rest of the casts of the areas they have, while adding Gaiden characters around April/May-ish to promote Echoes, maybe any OCs for Warriors to promote that game, and then Switchlandia's characters next year to promote Fire Emblem Switch. Yeah, but who else would they add for this? Nils? I don't think Myrrh would work here (I see her probably ending up a Green Manakete). Same here. It helps that I got a Lissa, a Marth and a 5-Star Lyn on my first go tho, so I was set to go. Yeah, I'm starting to hit this wall too. Hopefully they'll let us upgrade Stamina soon. Or just update the game to give everyone 20-50 more Stamina. Hopefully it'll change every couple of weeks. Or maybe they'll do something like the quest-things, where getting all 10 daily heroes will put you on a new rotation of 10 different daily heroes.
  19. True. I hadn't thought of this possibility, and I actually forgot Ninian could become a dragon. Wonder if she'll get Lightning Breath, or some kind of Ice Breath weapon.
  20. Probably because she doesn't have a weapon. Makes me wonder how they'll handle laguz units when they get to Tellius. Though if she did get in, she'd probably use Staves (give her Absorb or something), have Spur/Fortify skills, and have a buffing proc skill which requires her to Dance to activate. Or give her axes (not because it makes sense for her, but because there isn't an axe dancer yet), Chilling Wind / Glacies (because ice dragon) and a Spur/Fortify skill.
  21. Nihil 1/2/3: Enemy skills do not take effect during combat while this unit has > 90/70/50% HP. Overwhelm: Proc Skill, 4-Turn Cooldown. ATK for next attack equals Unit ATK + (Unit ATK - Enemy ATK). Sheer Power: Proc Skill, 4-Turn Cooldown. ATK for next attack equals Unit ATK + [2 * (Unit ATK - Enemy ATK)]. Rally Spectrum: Give selected ally +2 ATK/SPD/DEF/RES for 1 turn. Harsh Assault: During combat, ATK equals ATK + (Total Penalties To This Unit). Did these need to be assigned to specific future units? Because I'm not sure who all of these would go to (except Rally Spectrum for Female!Robin if she isn't already playable), I just thought they'd be cool to add to Heroes.
  22. Ah, that's a good point I hadn't thought of. And quite true, given how my Lyn kept getting killed in my failed normal runs (though she wouldn't have if I'd gotten Serra Imbue before I started going after Narcian). I was thinking that Wrys would be able to heal everyone rather than just one unit, in case you needed multiple units to be healed on the same turn. I suppose that might not be necessary tho.
  23. Not asking for myself (I sent him home for feathers, since I already have other, probably-better healers and Serra), but would Wrys be a workable option for Hard Narcian for people without Serra? Since he's the map character today, everyone can get him, and since he has Imbue-for-everyone as his proc skill, he could probably serve as a passable healer for this, yeah?
  24. Bit off-topic, I know, but was that ever useful? Because I remember the maps in Genealogy being huge, and horses would be really good on maps that big, andI remember dismounted units having to use swords instead of lances in Thracia (never played, but I read a Let's Play of it) but Seliph already used swords, so was there any reason to use it instead of just staying mounted? He will be. If Eliwood got his promotion-horse for this game, then the Magvel twins will most likely get theirs too.
  25. Wow, Seliph looks great! Feel like I've seen those colors on one of Marth's Smash 4 alt colors, though. Julia looks kinda like Sophia, but still good. The Magvel lords look good too, and I agree that they'll most likely be horse units because that was their promotion in Sacred Stones. Not sure if Seliph will be tho. Depends on how they'll differentiate him from Sigurd (who I remember from reading a Let's Play was always mounted, while Seliph started off on foot and gained a horse when he promoted into Sigurd's starting class), if it'll just be different Skills (plausible, I think) or if Seliph will be infantry while Sigurd will have his horse, on top of having different Skills. So, are we gonna see Thracia characters if Jugdral's part of the next focus? Or will they be put in with Gaiden characters during the inevitable Gaiden focus when we get closer to Echoes's release?
