  1. So, there's a Xenologue out under the Paralogues. When did that get there? And it has 9 orbs (3 per difficulty), so if anyone wants more orbs, go get 'em! Sorry if this was brought up already, I just saw the xenologue and thought I should mention it here.
  2. I can second this. I tried on my first time playing 7, but she just didn't become amazing fast enough for me, so I went back to Pent for all my anima-and-healing-but-mostly-anima needs (Erk didn't turn out well that run, while Pent impressed me by destroying an entire map unassisted and then still being great when I got to use him). She's kinda like that in Heroes too, except here instead of relying on good growths that might not pull through, she relies on the gacha system giving you enough buffy units to really power up Gronnblade so she can swordsnuke everything, which IMO works out far better for her (especially since you start with Alfonse, Sharena and Matthew, who between them can cover all colors with Nino while giving her buffs to Attack and Speed, so she at least has some method of hitting harder with Gronnblade even if your non-Nino pulls suck and you never get the daily recruitable heroes for some reason). On an unrelated note, Corrin (specifically F!Corrin). I went from "You're fun, sure, but why are you here?" in Smash 4, to not caring about Corrin in Fates, to actually liking using in Heroes (especially with debuff-breath, that's been rather useful at times). And she actually acknowledges the My Castle head-petting thing, which I had a laugh at.
  3. Thank you, I needed this so much. I can just picture those four shouting GET OFF MY LAWN in unison now. And now I'm hoping Marcus gets a sword, so we can have perfect old people on horses weapon color coverage. He's very afraid of being sworded, especially since they get WTA on him, so he thought wearing chainmail would help protect against that sort of thing. It doesn't, and they probably just stab him anyway, which chainmail probably doesn't protect against as well, but still. Points for trying, and all that. And he traded away his hat, which stored a large amount of his RES, to buy the chainmail, thus explaining where that went.
  4. Yeah, pretty much. Smash basically confirmed this one. I thought that was Roy? Though I guess it works for both of 'em. Eh, they can share this one. I second this. Now he and Roy/Eliwood can be the Christmas Marths when Alm gets added to Heroes!
  5. No, no, he's clearly General Marth. Axe Marth wouldn't be as slow as Hector is. Related note, now I want an Axe Lord for main character. Maybe FE Switch can pull this off? And what would Eliwood be? Or Lyn?
  6. Ah, alright. My mind does that too, sometimes. Wait, I thought Ike was Sword Hector. And is Alm a barbarian? I thought he was a prince of some sort, like most lords.
  7. Marth and Roy are very obviously in this game though. They show up on the little scroll-between-the-first-focus's-heroes thing when you have to download stuff, which happens at least once when you start Heroes, so they're immediately presented as being in-this-game (along with, if I recall correctly, Lyn, Lucina, Young Tiki, Camilla, Takumi, Alfonse, Sharena and Anna). It'd be pretty hard to miss 'em.
  8. Well, there's Lyn, who I remember never growing any damn Defense when I used her in FE7 (I used her anyway because she doubled everything and was cool, but still), but here her Defense is almost as high as her Resistance (which I remember being pretty much nonexistent on her in 7, but that might be me confusing her for someone else... quite a few units didn't get much Resistance when I played FE7). Same with Eirika, though she doesn't have much Resistance in Heroes either (or at least mine doesn't). Also, Eliwood has an odd amount of Resistance (or at least mine does; I remember him not starting with much of it in 7, and he didn't grow all that much of it either). At least he kept his horse (unlike Eirika and Ephraim...). Seliph probably isn't mounted here as an easy way to differentiate him from Sigurd when they add the latter. Probably because Sigurd is never not mounted, while Seliph only gets a horse when he promotes into Sigurd's class. Well, I think Hana's taken the position of "Insane ATK and SPD with craptacular defenses" myrmidony type, so they had to give Fir something different. Speaking of which, I wish Hana didn't match up to her stats in her home game. In particular, I wish she had some of Fir's Resistance (primarily because I remember Hana having decent Resistance in Birthright, though that might've just been me getting lucky with a defensive growth on the glass samurai). Even with Life and Death off she doesn't get that much of either, and it... well, it's accurate to how she is, and an exceptionally accurate display of what happens when dodge-tanking fails a myrmidon, but dammit it's annoying to see her desperately require a larger heal than exists in Heroes every time a Red/Green/Colorless unit looks in her general direction (Blues just kill her immediately).
  9. You and me both. Though Life and Death fits Hana pretty well, I think (Obstruct tho? What was the thought process behind that?). And I wouldn't get rid of Hana's Rally Attack, since it gives her utility when I can't risk her eating a hit. Still, opefully Inherit Skill will let us give her Moonbow/Glimmer/Noontime/Galeforce (Moonbow and Glimmer to deal more damage, Noontime since even 30% healing would probably still be a decent amount for Hana, not using Luna/Astra/Sol because I doubt Hana would live long enough to use those. Galeforce is here because it might help if Hana worked with a Dancer, since having 3 moves in a single turn just sounds amazing for Hana, even if she may not live long enough to use it). And maybe Threaten DEF, so Hana can kill things even better than she already does. And if we can overwrite A/B/C skills I am giving her Vantage because she needs it infinitely more than Obstruct (I hate that these two take the same skill slot... Vantage+Obstruct could actually be a pretty good combo if they could be used together). On a related note, hopefully we can give healers more skills once Inherit Skill drops. In particular, I kinda wanna give Sakura Seal SPD, just to make her even more of a defensive asset (enemies can't deal as much damage if they can't double, and Fear nerfs ATK so Sakura can be weaker F!Corrin with heals and 2-range), and maybe DEF +3 to fix her DEF bane (mine's +HP/-ATK/-DEF, double-bane sucks). And if I ever get an Azama, I will give him Fury, because damn it Fury+Martyr needs to be a thing. And on a completely unrelated note, I kinda wish siege tomes were a thing in Heroes. Maybe just as a Skill with a 5-turn cooldown that lets the unit with it attack a unit regardless of their positions on the map. It'd probably be broken as hell, but I still kinda want it. I just want Bolting to come back
  10. I know that feeling. Except I got 4-Star Tharja. Which, hey, it's going in the right direction, at least. Still not gonna use her much (I have Nino for all my -Blade-ing needs), but maybe some day she'll be an Arena bonus character or something. Or I can give her skills to someone else, I guess. Same set of pulls had a 4-Star Hana with +ATK or +SPD (don't recall which, but it was definitely a good nature either way) / -RES, who I merged my freebie 4-Star Hana that I'd been raising up into. Gonna enjoy using her in the Arena some day. Also a bunch of Lon'qus, Laslows and Raighs, which I do not care for at all. Sigh. Maybe next time I'll find Sanaki. Haven't seen a 5-Star since I pulled Catria several rounds ago, so there's hope, yeah? Or maybe I should just wait until this focus ends and Sanaki (and Olwen, but mostly Sanaki) becomes available at 4 Stars (and maybe 3 Stars? Do former focus characters drop to 4- and 3-Stars, or just 4?)?
  11. Alright then. Nino, Olwen, Alfonse, Sharena, and Anna are the units I'd like to see you cover in the future. Nino for reasons I gave in a previous post, Olwen because you already covered Reinhardt and I'm curious about the other brave tome user that's in right now, and Alfonse, Sharena and Anna because I'm curious as to how the Heroes original characters hold up compared to the various other characters in this game (and what makes Alfonse stand out compared to the various other sword lords).
  12. Wow, that's amazing. I almost can't believe they gave her away for free until I look at her Defense and Resistance Thanks, mate. Confirmed basically what I thought about her (she's basically how I remember her being in Fates, except she can't dodge here so her defenses being awful matters more), and helped me figure out who I want to use on a party with her. And, sorry for kinda-hijacking the thread too, Elieson. Though I do have one more set of units to suggest for future analysis: Alfonse, Sharena and Anna. I know Sharena can be pretty good, but I know next to nothing about the other two (Anna I dropped very quickly since she kept dying due to poor defenses, and Alfonse joined her on the bench after he had 6 Speed at level 10 so I switched him out for Marth) and am curious about them, and you seem like you'd be able to explain what makes them work. And I still can't vote in the new poll (I've been writing this post for a while, your update happened while I was writing this).
  13. Wow, these are really well-done, mate. Very in-depth. Makes me wish I had pulled Reinhardt or Eldigan (Klein sounds cool, but the other two sound like they would be amazing with a little support... and I have Jagen and Frederick, so I can probably pull off a weaker version of your cavalry team). And that I hadn't turned all the Gunters I got into feathers weeks ago, haha. Well, at least I'll probably pull them during the next focus, given my luck with these things... And you kinda did cover Olwen briefly back in the Reinhardt post, didn't you? Basically, she trades Reinhardt's high power and Vantage/Goad Cavalry for better (but still not great) SPD and RES (with Warding Blow to make her a bit tankier vs mages on her turn) and Spur RES... except that the SPD and RES gains aren't really substantial enough to matter, the lack of power makes her not as big a threat offensively as Reinhardt, and Spur RES isn't as good a buff as Goad Cavalry, right? Or did I misunderstand? Though I suppose Olwen could possibly be a good Reinhardt substitute for teams that aren't comprised entirely of cavalry, since her stat-buff skill doesn't require her allies to be on horses to benefit from it... Might even fit slightly better than him if you paired her with Nino, which might actually work fairly well for both of them. Olwen gets Hone ATK's +4 ATK to patch up her lower damage, Nino gets Spur RES for 5 extra damage on Gronnblade (do Spur skills give additional damage to the -Blade weapons like the Hone/Fortify skills do?) and Olwen's Blue brave tome to soften up or KO Red units for her. Dunno if that would work, and there are probably better choices than Olwen for a Nino team, but it's a thought. Also, I can't vote in your updated poll for some reason (maybe because I voted on the original one? I dunno how polls work here so...), but for your next topic, I'd like to see you cover Nino, partially because she'll be a focus unit soon and people should probably have some idea how she works (primarily all the various ways to abuse Gronnblade, of which I'm sure there are many) before they throw her at Ursula, partially because I'd like to know how exactly Gronnblade works. Or maybe Hana, since she's required for a Lunatic quest this month and has such weirdly lopsided stats with Life and Death (Alright HP, super-high Attack and Speed, paper-thin defenses). I know she's amazing for murdering armors (Armorslayer + aforementioned super-high Attack = dead armors, probably always but I feel like there might be a Blue one that lives through this), but is there any reason to run her over a different swordy?
  14. Ah, I see. I just looked it up, and from what I'm seeing, the other units besides Nino (who I would want if I didn't already have her, and would probably murderfy Ursula even without exploiting Gronnblade's buffs-as-power) are Felicia (makes sense, high-RES unit against a mage), Setsuna (um... I don't understand) and Effie (again, I don't get it, but I can't complain about a chance at 5-Star Effie). Looks like a good focus to me! Wish it would last longer than 3 days tho.
  15. Was this confirmed? Where? And who else is in there with Nino? Because I want this. I already have two Ninos, but the chance for a 5-Star one would be enough to make me maybe pull a green orb or two during that focus. But I agree, I'd like to see double-Focuses as a thing more often than just when there's a Great Hero Battle. I kinda miss the initial pair of focuses now (not just because I still haven't pulled Young Tiki or Takumi), and it'd be nice to have an extra focus pool for when I run out of characters in the current focus that I want (and maybe they'll focus Hector with one of these? That'd be neat) or just don't want to worry about getting a focus 5-Star that I don't care for when I'm pulling for someone who isn't being focused (like during the last focus, where I pulled blues in Battling Robin so I wouldn't have to worry about getting Ephraim instead of Azura or Effie like I wanted (since I think Azura at least is 5-Star only)... I still didn't get either of those two, but I had a better chance than I would've in Family Bonds I think).
  16. So, just saw the new Focus... Was not expecting Sanaki to be the first Tellius character in Heroes. Especially during a sibling event (I forgot she had one). And especially without, y'know, the character she is a sibling to. Hope I pull her tho. Kinda the only one I'm really hoping for from this batch, though they all seem alright. Also, Eldigan seems cool enough... and Lachesis... "Adores her older brother, Eldigan, to the point that other men pale in comparison." Why weren't these two in Family Bonds? Klein, I can see him being added for this event. Sorta wish he had Clarine on his map tho. Olwen and Reinhardt... Wasn't expecting them to be our first Thracia characters. They're probably cool tho (especially THUNDER'S FIST! Whoever came up with that title deserves a medal or something, that is awesome).
  17. @Sire Nice Grimas, mate. Can't believe I didn't consider giving my Grima Svalinn Shield. How did I forget about that after spending half an hour trying to train up Sheena? So, uh, here I'm gonna transcribe my Grima from that same thread you mentioned... Also, here's Myrrh from FE8:
  18. @SireThat makes sense, on the Awakening Trio. Owain obviously, since he uses a different weapon type from Odin, but Inigo and Severa'll probably get in with different weapons and skillsets too. And thanks for reminding me of that thread. And Story Chapters > Paralogue > Story > Paralogue does seem to be a logical method of rolling out new chapters. Hopefully that's what they go with (also hoping we get a Magvel chapter today...). Guess we'll know real soon (you sooner than I, most likely, I need to get some sleep). And I'm also wondering what that icon on the lower right is supposed to be... And if we'll get new recruitable 1- and 2-Star hero maps.
  19. Ah, it makes sense to use the Future Past for the Awakening Gen 2 characters. Dunno how I forgot about that. As for the final boss, maybe use a recolored Robin as Grima for the Future Past boss? They'd have to give Grima different skills and possibly stats to differentiate her (I'm hoping they'll go with F!Robin for Grima) from Robin, but that wouldn't be too difficult, I don't think. In fact, I'll give it a shot right now: Grima could be considered a dragon (so the Falchions are effective against her, like Chrom's Exalted Falchion was in Awakening; this also makes Julia's Naga tome deal effective damage, but that's okay) with Red Breath (though, instead of having Grima transform into a dragon, just have Grima's dragon-head show up behind her before combat starts, like the final boss fight of Awakening) and Fire Breath / Fire Breath+ / Dark Breath / Expiration (Grima's weapon from the Awakening boss fight: 16 MT | Range: 1 | Cooldown -1 [was going to give Built-In Distant Counter because Expiration had 5 range in Awakening, but that would probably be too good, so instead I made it so Buckler/Pavise activate more often when you get this weapon]), Buckler/Pavise (Grima had this on higher difficulties in Awakening, so I feel like it would be good to have it here... If nothing else, having a defensive activation skill makes Grima very different from both Robins), DEF +1/2/3 (meant to represent Dragonskin, except it really isn't like that at all, but it's the best I could come up with. Makes Falchions slightly easier to handle, at least), and Threaten SPD (couldn't figure out a good way to simulate Awakening's Anathema skill that Grima has on all difficulties, this is the best I could come up with). Stat-wise, Grima would have high HP (highest stat), ATK and DEF (not quite Armor DEF, but still high), with decent RES (average), but her SPD would be awful (like, Armor awful). Probably would be too good, huh? And the boss chapter could just be Grima and 3 or 4 soldiers, two of which would just stay next to Grima (who ideally wouldn't move unless you ended a turn with someone in her range or the range of one of her stay-next-to-Grima soldiers): one of these soldiers would have Spur and Rally SPD, the other would have Spur and Rally RES, to cover Grima's weaker stats. Also boss Grima would have Distant Counter and Threaten SPD for skills. Or they could just reuse Lucina, perhaps with Adult Tiki and 2 or 3 Awakening kids. That would also work. Or Old Hubba. I always thought that guy was secretly the ultimate evil. Also, bit off-topic, but do you think they'll add the Awakening Trio with whoever they add from Gen 2? I'm not sure, since their Fates selves are in... But then, we have two different Tikis, so I dunno...
  20. Weird, yeah, but it's nice tho. I've rather enjoyed every Fire Emblem I played, Kid Icarus Uprising was quite fun once I adjusted the controls to my liking, Sin and Punishment (got an assist trophy) is a fun shooter (and some day I will find the sequel), I liked Xenoblade Chronicles (though I still need to finish it some day)... There are quite a few games I would've never gotten into if they hadn't gotten some kind of Smash representation. Now if only they could do this with F-Zero... And I kinda wanna see Ice Climber get revived, just to see what they'd do with that. Nah, they'll add to the main story too. They can't just end on "We repelled an invasion! WOOHOO!" They have to go at least a little further... And have Veronica's role as villain taken over by a dragon-god, haha. Also they need to add at least a World of Radiance (or whatever they end up calling the Tellius world), a World of Sacred (or World of Stones... Neither of those really sound good to me, but I'm not sure what else they could go with there), a World of Genealogy (with Gen 1 characters), and maybe a World of Revelation (since the Corrins and Azura were nowhere to be seen in the Conquest and Birthright worlds), a Back to Radiance (for RD characters, like Micaiah and RD Ike), a Back to Genealogy (for Gen 2 characters), and possibly a World of Thracia (unless that gets rolled into Back to Genealogy) and Back to Awakening Again (if they add Awakening Gen 2). Though I wouldn't be surprised if they space out story chapters with Paralogues too. They'll probably have one with all the top 10 from the Choose Your Heroes contest in a Paralogue soon. And probably a PoR/RD Paralogue once Tellius characters start being added, yeah. And also they'll probably add a world for Gaiden at some point, on top of a Paralogue to promote Echoes. And probably a paralogue to promote Fire Emblem Warriors and FE Switch when those are closer to release.
  21. 4 Hectors: Roy says hi. And bye. Also I'm sure Julia could do major damage to one if necessary, though no way she survives the encounter. Robin and Sakura are mostly useless here, though Sakura would probably be healing every scratch on Roy (assuming he's taking damage here, never actually seen a max-level Hector in the arena but I'm assuning that even with Triangle Adept Roy'll still take a little damage from each Hector that kills himself on him) because she needs the EXP. 4 Takumis: I doubt it. Robin can probably take one out, Julia and Roy could maybe take one each if they initiate, and either I get lucky with multiple of those three being able to hit Takumi #4 to weaken him enough the kill (or for Sakura to kill him... Which is probably impossible, but still) or I lose. So yeah, I don't think this is winnable for my current team.
  22. I have a couple of these that I'm looking to build some day. I do wonder about competitiveness, but it isn't that important (more make-the-team-of-everyone-I-like, worry-about-how-badly-it'll-get-murdered-in-the-Arena-later). Also I can't actually make most of these yet, but hopefully soon! Avateam: Both Robins, both Corrins. Since I have all of them now, I might as well make a team out of them. I want to say they have good synergy (Robins can hide behind M!Corrin's DEF and Obstruct or F!Corrin's DEF and debuff-breath), but I'm pretty sure a good mage murders this whole team so... Smash Bros: Marth/Roy/Ike(M!Corrin until I pull Ike)/M!Robin. The Smash team. Will probably suck (this many reds cannot end well), but just looking at it makes me smile a bit. Smash Girls: Lucina/F!Robin/F!Corrin/Lyn. The Smash team, but with girls. Might turn out better than Smash Bros. Won't be able to put this one together for a while unless I luck out and pull Lucina tho. To Be Assembled As Soon As Nephenee Is Added: RoyOrHanaOrMia/SakuraOrMist/Nino/Nephenee. Can't make this one yet (Nephenee better get in when Tellius arrives... I'm sure Mia will, just dunno if I'll put her in over Roy/Hana if I pull her), but when I can, I'm gonna pull blues until I get the Halberdier. This one'll probably be better when Inherit Skill becomes a thing, if I can give Roy/Hana/Nino activation skills (I'm thinking Moonbow for Nino and Hana, and maybe Iceberg/Glacies for Roy since mine's +RES) and Roy and Hana Hone Resistance and Speed so they can make Nino a nuke (possibly give Nephenee Hone Defense if she doesn't get a Hone/Spur skill, or maybe Rally Defense if she doesn't get a little green shield skill, and Ignis/Astra if she doesn't get an activation skill). Not sure what I'll do with Mist tho. Assuming she'll be a mounted staff unit, but she could be a sword cav (I know she had swords after promoting in PoR, and she started with 'em in RD, so it's possible), and I dunno what I'll do with her if she's the latter. Also @Anacybele, maybe put Mist in your fourth slot on the Ike team?
  23. Decided to try my luck going for Azura with another pull. I got 4-Star Sheena, 3-Star Odin, 3-Star Cecilia 150 feathers, 4-Star M!Corrin, and 3-Star Jagen 150 feathers. Didn't get who I was looking for, but maybe another night. Not like I got a bad pull, really. Sheena and M!Corrin seem like they'll be useful (and now I can make an Avatar team with both Robins and both Corrins, wonder if that'll be any good), and Odin... Well, I'll train him up, and if he doesn't turn out well like Nino has, then I'll sacrifice him to give Nino Moonbow if I can do that next month so she can kill things better. Also I got 300 feathers. Can't complain about pulling feathers, really.
  24. I know how you feel, mate. I did that with Wrys too. And Jagen, who I now wish I'd kept my first of since he's becoming an important part of my Nino team (he has Fortify RES 2, and with that and Sakura's Fortify DEF 3 and Olivia's Hone ATK 1 or 2 (I don't recall which, sorry), Nino gets quite a few buffs for Gronnblade) and he'll probably be good on an all-cavalry team down the road (if I ever train up Stahl and Frederick). Not sure if I wanna give him Fury tho, dunno if the stat boosts are worth the self-damage.
  25. Black Knight will probably be a Great Hero Battle tho. You should hope to pull someone with a Heavy Spear in the near future, just so you'll be ready for that (and Zephiel). Congrats on conquering normal F!Robin, by the way.
