  1. You could also look at it that he's helping a very dear friend deal with her PTSD which given their background doesn't seem all that creepy.
  2. Forrest just doesn't conform to the gender norms of men. It's that simple. He's a red blooded Nohrian man who eats wyvern steaks and believes in (dragon) God and country. He just a prefers to do it in adorably feminine clothing.
  3. On a Revelation file I've been playing, I'm getting the kids at chapter 27. I had it on Hard, but I'll admit it was too darn annoying so I went down to Normal. It's great after you get them though because the kids' offspring seal gives them B ranks and level 18 promoted with decent stats.
  4. I'm partial to the +crit skills given to Takumi, Odin, Ophelia and Ryoma. And since Bushido is far and away the best of them, that's who I picked.
  5. I liked this chapter, but it would have been so much better if I could play with the kids I created and built. The DLC isn't hard, just long and tedious because you have to be careful. To give you an example,
  6. The deadpan delivery of SMILE....you're dead wins it for me. That said, "Dance for me" is great given the callback to her father/grandmother.
  7. Like: Swordmasters, Witch, Dark Knights, Hero, Basara and Snipers Both Mechanically and Aesthetically Dislike: Master Ninja (they look better unpromoted), Dark Mages/Sorcerers, Onmyoji, Diviners
  8. If you have the resources you can try again, even the worst cooks eventually make something edible.
  9. The ultimate attack of the maiden of legends, LUMINARY UPPERCUT!
  10. I see your point, but one of the biggest knocks about Grima is that he/she seemed to have it out for the world because....reasons.
  11. All of the Heirs of Fate DLCs respect Phoenix mode and you do get the reward. So does Hidden Truths. You can let everyone die and they'll come back next round. It's only the Royal Royale that enforces that inane restriction.
  12. Birthright's story isn't really that bad. It's just your standard hero saves the day story. Conquest story is ridiculous and awful. Gameplay, Conquest is better, but it's more limited. Unless you buy DLC, you won't be able to max out most of your characters (at least on one file). I think both games have standout characters and characters that make you want to stab your 3DS (exaggerating). IMO, the superior gameplay in Conquest isn't so superior to make-up for the story. This is especially so since you're limited in gameplay options sans DLC.
  13. "I don't wanna die!" Stand your ground Iggy, stand your ground son.
  14. No real competition today, Forrest is stunning.
  15. Just to answer another question you stated, no it wasn't a problem in Awakening because there was no absolute limit on the number of times you could restart your leveling via Second Seals. It's usually possible to cap out your stats, but like they said above, it's very expensive.
  16. I chose "Now!" because it's the shortest and this kid's voice is very grating.
  17. Just stay as a Nohr Noble. I normally end in this class and you can use tomes most of the time and still use Yato when needed.
  18. Thinking about this thread, I went back and started a new Awakening game. Just played it on Hard (lol) so there was no challenge. I've played Awakening about 6 times and Fates various routes about 9. But one thing I realized is that even though I played Fates many more times, I have significantly more playtime on Awakening. I think that gets to a couple of things that make Awakening the better game for me: 1) The Endgame To be fair, Fates still hasn't released all their endgame content, but what they have is absolute garbage. So many pre-set units. I get it, they want to ensure there is a challenge, but what they have accomplished is to make it so that I have no connection to the units. Like the current Heirs of Fate arc. None of these kids are ones I created so I really don't care. Further part of the fun of this game is building your units the way you want to take on the game. This just circumvents this. By contrast, Awakening just blows Fates out of the water. Hubba and his nonsense, Future Past, even the one-offs like Five-Anna are great. 2) Limits Like I said earlier in the thread, I don't understand why the nerfed so much from Awakening while allowing a much easier to abuse system. Currently, after many castle visits and a careful breeding program, I have a great collection of skills for every character. I like that in a way, but when playing Awakening now, I am having fun trying to figure out who should go with whom to make the kids great. It's not that the limits make it better, it's that the limits are honest. In Fates, most of the limits can be so easily circumvented they might as well not be there. 3) Corrin Corrin is a truly awful main character. Robin/Chrom just have so much more personality and depth, IMO. The unjustified love that all the characters have for Corrin just makes it all the worst. All that said, the gameplay is just miles better on Fates, it's not even close. Fates could have been better than Awakening in every respect, but their ruined it with a ridiculous story and a few bad mechanics. The game is still phenomenal, but I lament what could have been.
  19. I understand this view, but ultimately, you're going to have to accept some risk on a Lunatic run. It's just inevitable. With respect to crits and specials, sometimes it's worth the gamble to see if the RNG will smile on you. Especially with a 30+% crit rate. That happens enough that you should incorporate it into your strategy.
  20. Got killed by a Beserker who had a 10% chance to hit; 17% crit chance. Had to walk away for an hour or so lest I destroy my 3DS! :)
  21. Things that help: Shuriken breaker Certain Blow Ryoma Not talking to the Yllisseans; just heading out and fighting. Takumi Sitting two characters on the southern fortresses
  22. Remember, many of the people doing these types of runs aren't just rolling over the game. I doubt anyone doesn't screw up once in awhile. Additionally, the RNG can screw you because random. But best tips I can give you if you want to do Lunatic: 1. Take your time. You should carefully consider nearly every enemy you can see and change your skill loadout, items carried, weapons, etc. 2. Focus on a core group of characters Whether they are royals or not, the key is to have a good number of really good characters, instead of a lot of mediocre ones. 3. Look for legal cheese. The game doesn't play honorably so you don't have to either. For example, I have an Ophelia that has a +2 Mjolnir, death blow, gamble, Sol, renewal and tomefaire. I also fed her every secret book. She usually crits 60+ percent and doesn't die unless overwhelmed.
  23. 456.17 hours of which my main Revelation run is about half of that. Second place right behind Awakening.
  24. Sorry for the broken record, but Ryoma is more than viable, tied with the Avatar IMO. As for the rest: Elise: Everytime I've used her she became an absolutely fearsome mage. Sakura: Gave her a shining bow and wound up with an assassin that can heal Takumi: Fujin Yumi plus Sniper's good stats make him great. Point blank will make him near as good as Ryoma. Xander: Tank with no downside 1-2 range. Yes please. Camilla and Leo: Both are solid, but I do tend to think they are no better than other good units like Ophelia.
  25. Best rule of thumb is that if it's technically possible to have, you'll be OK. So for example, having a Moonlight +7 is technically possible if you managed to find 128 moonlights, but it's highly unlikely. You won't get banned for that. By contrast, having a Kukri weapon (ranged enemy only sword) will because there's no way to get one of those. Some skills like Aptitude don't cause a problem although no first gen units can get it legitimately.
