  1. I turned Sakura into a witch immediately upon recruitment. I think she was about level 7-8. That way I could get her to level 10 quickly. At level ten, I heart-sealed back to shrine maiden, then used a master seal to get her to level 1 priestess. I got Renewal then back to Witch to get Warp, back to Priestess for Counter Magic and finally back to Witch for Brew.
  2. Kaze: Milord, may we speak? Corrin: Sure Kaze, what's up my homie? Kaze: I understand that you have spent a lot of time with Midori recently milord. Corrin: Yeah man, she's a cutie that one. Good job. Kaze: Uhh...milord while I understand that from her perspective she has lived 18 years, to us she was born last Monday. Her mother is still recovering from her birth. Do you not think this is odd? No one else in the army seems to have any interest in the children, all of whom have managed to be born in the last month. Corrin: You may have misheard me, I said she's a cutie, what's the problem? Kaze: ...... ------------------------------------------------------------ Two things: 1) It was only a tongue in cheek comment; 2) It would still be sick to marry someone who you knew as a baby, a week or two ago. Sure you might find them attractive and vice versa, but the Avatar stands in a position of authority over mostly everyone in the army (except for Ryoma, Zander and perhaps their boys), and should exercise a little decorum. Like I said he/she's a sicko!
  3. Off the top of my head: Reina Flora Fuga Shura Scarlet (but you only have a small window to do it) Anna The 2nd gen kids are not Corrinsexuals but they do prevent the problem of not being able to have all the kids if the avatar marries one of them. That said, IMO, you're a sicko if you marry a kid since they were probably born only a few weeks prior to your marriage!
  4. Yes, you can miss out on quite a few things, to wit: There's probably more that I'm missing, if I can recall I'll edit it in.
  5. Kaden's laugh in beast form is legitimately intimidating.
  6. Corrin is simply an unbelievable character in any of the routes. Birthright and Revelation are tolerable in the screwy kind of way that RPGs usually have unrealistic protagonists. But Conquest, Corrin is either an idiot, insane, or both. Given that, the immediate, unconditional love that the vast majority of characters have for Corrin is silly. Thankfully we have a few characters like Saizo. Robin, if nothing else, is interesting. There's no immediate worship. Frederick is downright hostile from the beginning, others worship Chrom (Cordelia, Sumia, etc.), others still are just indifferent until they get to know Robin. Robin's origins are a tragedy that tortures him/her. Gameplay wise, Robin an optimized Robin could probably solo Lunatic Conquest. But more to the point, I just enjoyed playing with Robin more than Corrin. This iteration of dragonstones isn't all that interesting to me and Corrin is held back by a combat system that was made needlessly complicated.
  7. 1) If you're going to jump right into Conquest, I would do Hard/Casual for many of the reasons others have stated. Conquest has some really tricky levels and some near the end are just painful. My lunatic/classic run forced me to walk away from the game for a day once. 2) Others have covered this. Basically, the Avatar can't be everything and it takes more strategy to earn certain classes. That said, using MyCastle battles, you can pretty much get any skill for the popular characters. 3) No such thing really, depends on how you want to play. 4) You can start on Revelation, but it pretty much ruins the other paths. 5) Yes, it's terrible. The gameplay is challenging and fun however. 6) Really consider carefully each action. Check the units you're attacking, really don't ever isolate a unit. Beware Ninjas, especially one with their poison strike skill. 7) I bought Map Pack 1 so I really didn't need any special tricks. Map Pack one is relatively cheap and you have your P2W money, exp, & item maps. This sorta breaks Conquest because a bit of grinding those can make things a LOT easier, but hey, you choose your own level of masochism. 8) Too many to list.
  8. Remember they are my favorites, I wasn't criticizing them. But many of their supports start with calls to Laslow's flirting, Odin's grandiosity, or Selena's surliness. That's not a bad thing, it's part of my love for those three. As for Kagero, I really liked her convo with Silas, even Ryoma, there are couple of others I liked. But to be perfectly honest, I think she's one of the hotter characters.
  9. My real life wife would commit me to the loony bin if I ever had a waifu or husbando in FE. She already thinks I'm obsessed with Awakening/Fates (she can't tell the difference). My favorite characters to get hitched to in game (to Corrin or otherwise) though are: Girls: Azura, Setsuna, Kagero, Selena Guys: Laslow, Odin, Lobster, Niles, Saizo, Kaze I've really enjoyed most of these characters support convos even if the Awakening 3 are one-note characters in some ways.
  10. Depends on what your strategy is. I have an Ophelia with a minimum 65% crit rate. (Mjolnir, Death Blow, gamble, bibliophile) It's not luck based it's percentage based. If you can get your crit into the 25-50% range, then you're going to get a lot of crits. You don't depend on them for any individual fight, but in the aggregate, they greatly increase the power of a unit. Sure I can't depend on Ophelia to crit all the time, but she crits so often that she makes a great sweeper.
  11. I like many things about the new system. The things I don't like: 1) Forging. For most of the reasons stated, makes Iron weapons far too good. With Museum Melee, Lottery, random finds in the Castle, and stealing from unused units you don't even have to buy all of them. You also don't have to get all the way to +7. +3 and +4 weapons are fantastic, like the holy weapons. Even +1 and +2s of rare weapons work wonders. For example, Peri's Lance on a Wary Fighter tank. With weapon durability gone I understand why they didn't use the old system. But I think they need to go back to the drawing board for the next game. 2) The primacy of daggers/shuriken and magic (i.e. ranged weapons). Nerfing Hand Axes and Javelins was a good idea, but they went too far. 3) Drawbacks on higher ranked weapons. All that accomplished for me was to ensure that I never used them and did everything I could to find iron stuff to forge.
  12. Both Gameplay wise and Story wise Morgan beats Kana hands down. I like Kana, but he/she has an unhealthy obsession with mom/dad. But since basically everyone in Fates has an unhealthy obsession with mom/dad, I do give him/her a bit of a pass.
  13. Anyone know where I can get Ms. Strober's versions of the songs? I have the soundtrack, was a little disappointed they didn't add those in. Just watched the video she posted. Beautiful.
  14. On the lesser lord definition, Silas definitely fits then, it's stated in multiple supports he is a noble. So does Jakob who is stated to be from a noble family. He wasn't specifically disowned and thus probably still technically a peer.
  15. Going through Corrin's supports, I see several options for his/her retainers. What I'm wondering is that there are clearly 3 stated retainers and up to about 6. The three I think are undeniable are: Kaze, Jacob and Felicia. REASONS: Kaze Jacob Felicia As for the rest, I think there are arguments for Silas, Flora, and Gunther. But that would leave Corrin breaking the custom of 2 retainers. So in your headcannon who is it. For me it's Kaze and Jacob for the reasons stated.
  16. This x 1000. So sick of pre-set units.
  17. Laslow; Selena; Odin x Caeldori Laslow; Selena; Odin x Asugi Laslow; Selena; Odin x Rhajat Along the lines of their resemblance to former colleagues.
  18. Without going into spoilers, I always evaluate a character driven story first by asking, "Would the main character actually be doing this or are they doing it solely to keep the story moving." On that score, Conquest fails extremely early. I simply do not believe that a rational, irrational, good or evil character would behave as Corrin did. It's absurd. I'm finishing up my Lunatic runs, doing Revelation and Birthright first and even though I've played it before, I'm amazed at how unbelievable it is.
  19. IMO, Conquest is the worst FE story and not by a little bit. I think Birthright is just a basic hero beats evil empire story. Which is fine, not great but fine. Conquest makes not one bit of sense. OP: Revelation is a bit too busy, but it's the "real" (as in it leads to the real antagonist) path and you at least get to play all the characters. That gives you some interesting cross-faction interactions and romances.
  20. I think even if Revelation didn't exist, Conquest would still suck. From chapter 7 on, it was completely unbelievable to me that any rational actor would behave as Corrin did. Even someone irrational and rather stupid would have figured out that they should probably get the heck out of Nohr given that their 'father' ordered your older brother to murder you for the lulz. I think if Revelation were an expansion that built off of Birthright and Conquest that would have been better. But Conquest would still need to be substantially re-written. Probably with an open rebellion against Garon or go full evil and have Corrin just be totally cool with killing everyone in Hoshido.
  21. 1. No 2. More or less 3. No 4. Yes, a load of them 5. Have them befriend/marry a ninja, but forged basic weapons > higher ranked weapons IMO. They just take some effort to get to +5 and above. 6. Pretty sure they stay in their basic classes since the map happens
  22. That's the best support convo in the game. For me: Character wise: The chosen heroine Ophelia Dusk Unit wise: Ryoma
  23. I don't think she's so bad. I like her. Her recruitment mission really portrays her well. Certain supports do not. Her supports with Ophelia have the same problem that many supports have, you can't tell the story of a relationship in 3 conversations. What Ophelia did during those convos is actually worse than the harassment IMO. That it backfired on her was just desserts in my mind.
  24. Well, she's the Queen of Hoshido, but it's also true that: [spoiler=What I meant in spoilers]She was being hidden by Sumeragi after she fled with Arete from Valla. Sumeragi might have loved her, but she wasn't his first wife and she really isn't a native to her adopted home. She's a Vallite princess and was more or less married to Anankos. Probably not that important, but Hoshido is one of her countries, just not her first.
