  1. Garon and his cronies don't get offscreened in any route of Fates so I'd have to say that the Slitherers are worse. And even when you do fight them, it's just a matter of walking right up to their base and kicking their shit in. For a group that managed to infiltrate the governing bodies of almost every country in Fodlan, they go down surprisingly easily.
  2. I don't understand why your base can't just be a bunch of random tents (or just a series of menus). Returning to the monastery between every single chapter was super jarring, especially combined with the calendar system.
  3. I mean if we're gonna be subjective, what exactly is wrong with liking FE only for the waifus (or husbandos)?

  5. Oh, you're mostly referring to their status rather than what they do in the story. Well in that way I guess that is true.

By RD I assume you mean Micaiah, but even she is mostly following the command of Pelleas (and well, Lekain) and knows full well that what she's doing is wrong but does it anyway out of loyalty to Daein. I'd say she's more similar to Conquest Corrin in that regard. While Edelgard starts a war mostly by her self and also completely believes that what she's doing will be for Fodlan's benefit
  7. I can't say I really I agree with that. The characters (especially the lords) are a massive departure from what you usually see in the series.
  8. 3H just kinda reinforced my opinion that Weapon Durability doesn't function well in a game where you have access to non-limited armory between every battle, especially in a game that gives you much money. I would have preferred if they took the fates system and tried to improve on it. The repair system removes clutter so that's nice.
  9. I get the feeling that the rise of mobile RPGs in Japan between 2012 and 2015 probably had an impact on how Fates was designed. If I could really sum up the tone of Fates, it felt like I was playing a gacha without the gacha

So why can't someone say that Fates flaws in their characters be summed up as the result of them spreading themselves to thin as a result of making each path feel unique in terms of both story and gameplay, something that 3H was not even remotely capable of doing? Even discounting Revelation, there are more unique chapters in BR and CQ combined than there is in all four routes of 3H put together (and this is with CQ and BR also sharing maps). And to make things worse, 3H costs $60, which is the same amount of money you'd pay for BR and CQ combined, so it should have a similar amount of content, instead of artificially bloating itself with reused maps. I also can't see how 3H's flaws are as a result of budgetary constraints when IntSys had much money when developing it than they did with either Fates or Awakening due to 1)Both Fates and Awakening selling well and 2) Heroes being extremely profitable, making more money than all the pre-Awakening games combined. I completely agree that Fates went way too far with the sexual content in this game, but in my opinion, that is far less of a negative than reusing so much content. And marrying your students is not exactly what I'd call proper, even if they're adults after the timeskip, especially when you consider the pre-timeskip Goddess Tower conversations where the majority of them heavily flirt with you.

I remember this being said in another thread, that the flaws of 3H should be less harshly judged than the flaws of Fates due to them being a supposed result of the devs running out of time rather than cynical marketing tactics. While I can't say that I like Fates more than 3H, I don't know why people think 3H's flaws are only a result of insufficient time. For instance, of the 4 different paths presented to us, 3 of them essentially have the same story and almost the exact same maps (even when it doesn't make sense), with certain points left out as a way to get you to play the other routes. Do people honestly think Intelligent Systems, if given more time, would actually make the paths more unique? Or do people think Sothis appearing in literally every trailer, despite completely disappearing halfway through the story, wasn't a way for Intsys to promote a cute mascot character to advertise the game? Even in Heroes, Sothis is basically the face of 3H. She actually reminds me very much of how the Royals in Fates were shoved down our throats despite only half of them having some significant role in the story. If you like 3H more than Fates, that's fine but saying something like that is not fair, in my opinion. Every game should be judged equally for their flaws and 3H shouldn't automatically get the benefit of the doubt here.

  14. Between the poison strike and debuffs, I found enemy phase strategies to be near impossible on Lunatic
  15. I found brave weapons to be better than gauntlets like 90% of the time. I did use Hidden weapons in Fates heavily though, since Kaze was perfect at baiting mages.

  18. I really hope Intelligent Systems doesn't start using the rewind mechanic to justify terrible design decisions. Because there was a lot of that in 3H
  19. does anyone remember that one mission in Fates where you could either escape or kill the boss? That was cool

  21. What did you guys think about about Battalions? What was the best battalion, in your opinion? Were they too strong, too weak or perfectly balanced? How did they compare to the pair up mechanic from Awakening and Fates?
  22. So based on what you're saying here, we're probably not going to see something like Conquest ever again outside of DLC?
  23. I very much the despise the fact that they locked the interesting gameplay behind DLC yet again, like they did with Echoes. What exactly prevented them from putting stuff like this in the main game from the beginning?
  24. Munster, Connacht, Ulster and Leinster are the four provinces in Ireland, which is what Leif's country is modelled after. I don't know why you guys are getting mad at the change, this is probably what the Japanese where trying to say in the first place but couldn't due to the restrictions of their language
