  1. Eliwood's already 4*. I forgot to mention that. Oops. I'm considering putting Blarblade on Ursula - it'd go well with Gunter's shiny new Hone Cavalry, and I think I have someone lying around who can give it to her.
  2. Training my shitty cavalry team is such a pain sometimes. I'm starting to think I need to upgrade some of my 3* cavs to 4* and start training again. My team at the moment is Eliwood, Ursula, Gunter, and Clarine. Do people think I can get away with upgrading only Gunter (for Hone Cavalry), or will I need to do Ursula as well? I finished up fliers, though. Cherche is surprisingly good.
  3. I just pulled another one: Jaffar. That brings me up to 8.
  4. The highest-Attack flier I have on my team is Cherche, with 44. Lowest is a 3* Palla, who's pretty much only there to fight off green units - she has 32. I'm currently on 11/15, with at least 7 failed attempts.
  5. Ice Dragon whaled like crazy to do stats research. That's what he really has.
  6. I've pulled Kagero, Eirika, Cordelia, Takumi, young Tiki, and Lucius, all totally free. I also have a Nino that I upgraded from 3*. I have two more 4* units that I plan to unlock (Sharena and a second, better natured Nino). So that's six pulled, one upgraded.
  7. I'm actually really enjoying these now. It's really forcing me to work my units' skills like I've never really had to before. I just had a pretty interesting battle with my flying team, actually. The enemy was three swords and a lance, so I decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, three of those four were fliers, and there were a lot of passive buffs flying around. To start with, Cordy nuked Fir (the one infantry enemy). After that, Est took out one of the lance fliers (they were either both Catrias or both Shannas - I don't recall), but that left her on 1 HP. I kited a bit to try and separate the enemy Catria and Shiida, but I got backed into a corner - Cherche couldn't kite any further, and Palla and Est had only one safe space between them. Luckily, I noticed that Cordelia had Galeforce ready, so I used her to defeat Shiida before skipping out of Catria's range. This gave Palla and Est the room to avoid being killed. Catria exchanged blows with Cherche, then I managed to Pivot her out of range (Cherche had 8 HP left, and Catria was on 19) and get everyone into position to mob Catria. Unfortunately, Catria had her proc ready. My options were Cherche attacks for 18 then dies, Cordelia attacks for 2x9 then dies (17x2 plus the proc activating against 36 HP), or Est attacks for 3 (and dies). It made me feel pretty smart when I checked Palla and noticed her Spur Spd. ^_^
  8. After spending a couple of days slowly raising three more fliers to go with Cordelia, I finally got started. Despite Cordy being the only 5* and the others not being level 40 yet (35-36), I've been managing quite well. I honestly think the fliers one is the second-hardest, simply because there's no ranged attacks. I had to do some tricky movements to get Selena in range of Cordelia's Brave assault without leaving Cherche open to Sanaki (who was right next to Selena - talk about painful). I'm raising a team of cavaliers, and I think they'll have an easier time of it thanks to having range, Eliwood's Ward Cavalry, and a healer. On the other hand, I have no 5* cavalry units, so there may still be problems. Armours can go die in a hole. The game has seen fit to give me only two, and one of those is the 2* Draug.
  9. Brave Lance gives Spd -5. You've got neutral Speed. Edit: Wow, double swordsaged.
  10. I already had a 4* Corrin-F, so I fed the new one to Nino. Now Nino is even more awesome! ^_^
  11. ...you realise Eirika's S-tier, right? She's on the same level as all those you just mentioned. I don't really see why you would "have no choice" but to use other S-tiers, while declaring that Eirika is fit for nothing but skill inheritance. In other news, I did a pull today, still trying for Ninian. The only good thing I got was Corrin-M (4*) - everything else was duplicates, sadly.
  12. If you pull Tharja or Nino, you can pass their -blade tomes to other mages more to your liking, you know. Eirika fills a pretty unusual niche in Heroes - she's one of a tiny amount of units that can buff multiple stats at once, and her ability to do that cannot be passed. I will admit that I have no idea what it's like to dislike units as much as you do. I can't even imagine hating as many units as you appear to, given your large number of complaints about it.
  13. I ended up dumping the 140 orbs I'd saved on the new banner. Got a couple of new 5-stars - though sadly not Ninian. But then I pulled a Nino. Now, I literally just got my +Spd -HP Nino to 5*. New one's only 3*. However... the new one is +Spd -Def, the only asset/flaw combination that I think is better than the one I already have. Welp, I now know what my next 22000 feathers are going on... >_<
  14. Paralogue 3! I think P3-3 is Battle Before Dawn. Dunno about the rest right now.
  15. I'm kinda uninterested in this new banner, and this is the reason why. I pulled this Nino, only 3*, on my first-ever pull. I only just got around to checking her Asset/Flaw, and I was going to ask whether that was good for her. So congratulations! We can be Nino buddies!
  16. I have a number of games like this. First, Super Scribblenauts. This was praised to the heavens by reviewers, but I really just found it boring. A little too much freedom for my taste, I think From the Zelda series, I seem to alternate between love and annoyance with every new console release. Ocarina of Time took a while to get into, but was definitely not terrible. Majora's Mask was... annoying. The Wind Waker is the best thing ever. Twilight Princess's Wii controls meant it was a sad disappointment after Skyward Sword's magnificence; I'm hoping that the regular controls in the HD remake will allow me to enjoy it, though. And going back decades, The Legend of Zelda was enjoyably challenging, while The Adventure of Link was face-tearingly frustrating. Virtue's Last Reward is another game that people I knew really enjoyed, whereas it never really clicked for me. Someone mentioned Bravely Default. This was the same for me until I started to get ahead of the level curve and diversify my jobs a bit (which was mid Chapter 3 - I had to force myself to get that far!) As far as Pokémon goes, there aren't any that I couldn't get into, but Ruby and Sapphire and their remakes get so much praise that I just cannot agree with. To me, they represent a huge downgrade from their predecessors that was only fixed in gen 4. I'm probably going to embarrass myself by saying this, but going from Galaxy to Super Mario 64 was... not fun. Like Bravely Default, I eventually got into a flow and enjoyed it, but it took a lot of getting into.
  17. Clearly Old Hubba is a collector of rare misprints Yeah, I'm fond of Raquesis - and consistency - too, but it's no great loss. If they change Nabarl I am never playing FE again
  18. Okay, now we have another Paralogue. And... I'm stumped. Paralogue 2-2 seems to be Thracia C22: Across the River, but I can't figure out the other two. Help? Anyone?
  19. I agree that the story seems incomplete. Maybe because we haven't had a dragon/god/dragon-god turn up and take over the antagonist role yet. On the other hand, I don't expect an extension to the main story - just frequent Paralogues to introduce new units. I'm betting there'll be a Paralogue focusing on all the protagonists of PoR and RD when the time comes.
  20. Okay... 1) I realise you aren't a native English speaker, but things like this that contain large amounts of grammar and syntax errors are difficult to read. 2) Awakening kept the PAL names of characters. Heroes did not, but Heroes (and Fates, for that matter) didn't get localised into British-English anyway; the PAL-region versions are just the US-NTSC versions with different region coding (if that). I don't know about TMS#FE, because I haven't played it. 3) If I recall correctly, the PAL localisation of FE8 uses the US names of countries on the world map, despite the terrible romaji names used in the actual script. I'm assuming NoE decided that the world-map names were the better choice when it came time to localise Awakening (praise Naga). <opinion> 4) "Navarre" is just ugly (even if it is a region of Spain). "Nabarl" fits better with the other weird biblical names in Akaneia, like Ogma. (Seriously, I'm so pissed off that Heroes didn't get a proper PAL-region localisation, because I hate "Navarre" so much. :-/ ) </opinion> 5) I'm defending using the NTSC-U names for this patch anyway, so I have no idea why you decided to rant at me about it.
  21. Consistency with related games > consistency with other sub-series. Especially since it's the same character as in Shadow Dragon. (I'm in a PAL region, where she was translated as Aimee in Shadow Dragon anyway. Sadly, this is a US-English fan translation.)
  22. Well, I got 20 orbs again, and went to summon, expecting my usual bad luck. Then this happened. (Image: 5* Cordelia, 5* Eirika, 4* Gwendolyn, 3* Virion, 4* Arthur) So now I have Eirika (YES! Free Great Badges!) and a Brave weapon user. Eirika + Kagero + Cordelia + Nino looks like a pretty good team to me!
  23. Eh... Probably Merric. Insane Mag growth, high Skill and HP, decent Spd/Def/Res, and no Str to speak of.
  24. At the very least, don't get rid of him before you do his quest, because great badges are nothing to sneeze at. And yeah, I'd lean towards keep, just because Seliph.
  25. Lute plz. Also Alm and Celica would be nice, but I'm guessing they'll be lining up come Shadows of Valentia. I'm quite keen to see whether they're actually changing Raquesis's name, too. Lewyn and Ced would be nice. Nino has been kicking ass for me, so I'm predisposed to like green-haired mages right now.
