  1. I feel there might be a few flaws in this list if it's trying to rank people by LTC usability, efficiency or how good they are at juggling apples. As amusing as Samto is, I don't think he's better than the Pegasus sisters, even with his radical Killing Edge. But it really depends what metric you're measuring people by!

    Help!

A central RP topic with links and descriptions of the currently running roleplays and maybe an archive of old ones would be pretty neat. Maybe even with a couple of useful resources for players.
  3. I can't say I'm terribly invested in any of the pairings in FE in general. Since Awakening's so free in who can bang, I find it difficult to get too attached to any in particular since none of them really matter in terms of the story or general plot. I'd rather play a game for the gameplay than shipping!
  4. Whilst I can appreciate your efforts to write a sign up, but it suffers from all of the same issues that your original one did. There's no mention to any location or even nation in the setting of Angelcynn, Where is this character from? Which war was their father fighting in? Who actually is Onyx's father, considering his sister's dad has been dead for a long while before his birth? Where did this anti-bandit force base themselves? The backstory is just as lacking as the first one you submitted, if not even more so. Angelcynn relies heavily on character integration to the setting, which both of your sign ups have lacked. I feel that Angelcynn may not be a good starting RP for you and that it might be better if you found one that was more loose with its expectations. I'm afraid that I'm not certain that you can produce a character that will allow you to enjoy Angelcynn to its fullest.
  5. Unless Elaine decided to cause any more arguments, Tarquin was certain he'd be following Megumi's advice. With his wounds sealed and cleaned, there was a meeting that sorely needed his attention. It would also let him escape Megumi's watchful eye, there was part of her that made him feel slightly uneasy. Perhaps it was her cold clinical nature, or the knowledge she'd been fully briefed on him, but there was only so long he'd voluntarily want to be around her. Avoiding Thorvald for the time being would also be beneficial for him, but he seemed more preoccupied on the captured rebel leader. His communicator sounded as soon as he stepped out of the medbay. Brant? His message had come a little late, he'd either gotten distracted or had been a poor choice to relay it. "This is Specialist Herrington, I have received suitable medical attention and am now departing from the medical unit. Thank you for your concern, Lieutenant Abrams. I shall report to the meeting announced by the Captain." he replied, making his way towards the meeting room. There was likely to be a variety of opinions regarding the mission. Tarquin wasn't entirely sure why he appeared to care so much. Nikolai had earned a place outside of the brig, he deserved at least that much right? Stepping into the room, a few people had already started to gather, most notably the Captain herself and Astin. Saluting before he took his seat, Tarquin knew he needed to choose his words carefully. "Hello, Captain, Sergeant Doyle. I shall save my thoughts on the mission for the meeting." Tarquin informed, pulling his chair closer to the table. For once, he was hoping to be able to engage with the others, there were very few of the crew he'd want to speak to ordinarily.
  6. Essentially Tormenting Esclabor Esclabor couldn't even bring himself to force a smile as Claire arrived, his sour expression indicative of how he was feeling. It appeared that almost everyone seemed to enjoy taunting him, was he not safe from anyone's ire? The sooner that they escaped the village and finished their diplomatic task, the better he'd feel. Putting his head down, he decided to focus on digging for the time being - at least the soil didn't have anything to say to him. Orpheus was content with Cass' response, her approval seemed to justify his entire mindset. Marching back to Esclabor, Orpheus sat himself down on a rock to continue his supervision. "One of him is enough for the farm, I'll say that much." Perroy replied, returning to his work on the fence. "If he were a little older, I'd probably offer to let you keep him. The boy's probably going to get bored of this little village one day, I just hope he has enough sense to keep out of trouble."
  7. Thanks for your submission, it's clear you put some time into it! However, it suffers from a lot of the problems that the one above it did! A lot of the details are incredibly vague, such as where this foreign nation might be, and how exactly he was able to cross an ocean by himself as a child. There are also issues with the whole orphanage backstory and escaping to find said sword mentor. Both are incredibly cliche and don't particularly fit into the setting. There are also problems with integration into the setting - the background barely even acknowledges nations, let alone any details. It makes it come across as though the character could be transplanted into any RP. There are also several errors with regards to growth calculations. Please reread the opening post and how it's done. All growths are not a 1:1 point allocation, there is a little maths involved in calculating them. For the meantime, I'm going to have to decline the application!
  8. We are indeed super active, please make sure you read through the intro post and get some idea of the events that have occured so far. This supplementary information on the setting may be helpful.
  9. Neither Astin nor Juria had replied directly to him, but Tarquin was adamant that his logic was sound - the satisfaction that he was correct was more than enough. If she did dare to go on any further missions, any consequences would be down to her and her alone. The hypocrisy of his thoughts didn't occur to him, his own wellbeing was totally separate from that of others. The sounds of the Captain's message was a sign for Tarquin to get moving. Doctor Amparo's treatment had been swift and efficient. He'd never been terribly interested in medical science, but he had gained a greater appreciation for it. It was hard to believe that he'd been injured at all during the previous battle. Perhaps she didn't have anything else to add, Tarquin wasn't sure how to even begin trying to figure out what was on her mind. Sitting himself up on the edge of the bed slowly, Tarquin buttoned his shirt back up. Doctor Amparo most likely had a whole host of people to attend to, and loitering in the medbay wasn't exactly his idea of fun. "It is probably best I do, there are several issues that are likely to be addressed." Tarquin replied, hopping from the side of the bed. There were matters dealing with the Captain, Nikolai... as well as himself, Elaine and Kim. "Despite my age, I hold some seniority in rank. It would be neglectful to not engage in discussions." More importantly, he needed to ensure that neither the Captain nor Nikolai were reprimanded. It may have been a reckless decision, but it had provided them with the support they needed for the mission. Elaine could be told off to her heart's content, but his main focus wasn't on antagonising her this time.
  10. Bold Claims "Digging's not hard, any idiot can handle a shovel." Orpheus replied, his gaze diverting to Esclabor yet again. Esclabor had given up by this point, the sooner he finished the work, the better he'd feel. "Doing it day in, day out is the hard part. It's barely been three hours and he's tired already. At least the other one lasted all day. Hard work's hard because you have to keep doing it!" Perroy was rather amused by his son's boasting, laughing as he watched him parade around their guests. "And that's why you got two men to do yours for you? You'd probably like being a noble, Orphy, lots of telling people what to do." Perroy replied, keeping his son from getting too preachy. "My boy might have a loud mouth, but he's learned to treat people for who they are and not what they have. He's more trouble than the rest of his brothers put together." Book Buddies Decima lit up when Claire mentioned the beginner's books - it was at some proof she wasn't a total novice. "I'd appreciate that very much, hopefully I'll be good enough until we get back." she replied, wondering if there was anyone else worth getting tips from. "I think you're probably the best spellcaster in our group, Claire. The mercenaries seem alright... but I'd be far more comfortable learning from someone I knew better." People and Places "There are so many little things in this world, I sometimes forget they exist." Nona replied, watching the ducklings alongside Freya. "I see many servants and soldiers, peasants and paupers, I don't have enough space in my memory for all those things. I remember important things, like my peers and things I've read, but I can't say I do very well with other things." Nona looked at Freya, giving her a friendly smile. "It's not because I think people like you aren't important, but it'd be hard to keep track of all the castle guards. I'll do my best to remember you." she added, pondering for a moment. "Maybe a nametag would be helpful... it took me forever to learn that mercenary's name... Serge? Or was it Steve?" Prayers Above Owen seemed to have reached his own decisions, or at least he'd gotten tired enough of the vicar's ramblings to want to leave. "Words without actions are hollow, and actions without words are empty. If you ever find yourself needing guidance from Engel, I am certain you know where to ask." she replied. "No matter who surrounds you, or what challenges you face, your friends and comrades can provide you with support." Owen may now embrace Engel if he so chooses!
  11. Ha, you're nearly old, just give it another year!

  12. Probably FE6, it's not too different from 7. It maybe worth moving onto the Tellius titles afterwards, if you can get access to them.
  13. Medical Report Decima could tell that neither of Claire or Sidney were terribly impressed with the story, but thankfully Claire had already decided to move the conversation along. "Oh, Baron Nelon? I went to see him with Morta yesterday evening. I think he's doing a lot better." Decima replied, glad that the topic didn't dwell too long on Malaphar. "I'm not sure if he'll be able to fight too soon, but he said he was awake for the entire day." Could Sidney really learn from Cass? The Princess did seem rather good with staves, but she'd never come across as the teaching type. In fact, the rumours that she'd heard in the past suggested very much that Cass only accepted her own way of doing things. King of the Field Orpheus laughed at Cass, his father shooting him a grin from the fence. "It doesn't matter if you're a princess or not, miss. You're on our farm so you're just Cass here." he said proudly, crossing his arms. "Pa said that people have to earn respect, it don't just come with a fancy title. In this village, you're only as important as anyone else. Being a princess doesn't get you anything special." Perroy nodded in agreement, sharing the same sentiment as his son. "Means that you gotta treat them no worse than anyone else either, Orphy." he lectured, pointing his hammer at Esclabor, who had very much decided to keep his head down. Orpheus looked at Esclabor, shaking his head. It was quite clear that Orpheus didn't seem to feel much pity for him. "I'd be nicer to him if he didn't dig like a girl." Orpheus teased. "Everyone has to do their part!" Novice Purchase The woman at the stall picked up on Serge's uncertainty, had he ever bought supplies before? Where had he actually come from, and more importantly, how did he survive this long without knowing anything? "It really depends if you wanted them fresh or rolled. You do know the difference between the two, don't you?" she replied, unsure whether it would be fair to actually sell him anything. "Maybe you should come back with someone who has some experience with buying supplies, I'd hate to sell you something that you couldn't use." The Light "The wisest people are those who have the most options available to them." the vicar replied, standing herself up slowly. "It's not possible to plan for the rest of one's life, challenges and problems will always present themselves, but it is important to know that you are not alone in facing them. Even the most cunning or experienced invididuals are doomed to fail if they cannot realise the value of their bonds." She laughed a little, was another young man really going to leave her with such a profound philosophy again? "Being a leader isn't about being above everyone else, it's having the courage to admit that you need the help of others." she added. "You may not have the answers for all you seek, but there will always be someone who you will be able to ask."
  14. Thank you very much for your corrections, it is quite an improvement over the previous submission! However, I still feel it lacks the depth necessary for you to fully engage with Angelcynn. "Evil priests" aren't really a common occurence in setting, and there is no real explanation to why he is not with the remaining members of his group. The entire blurb about his personality makes Eren seem incredibly vaguely defined, and almost contradictory to some extent. Whilst your additions to his backstory have increased the detail present, it still suffers from some questionable content. Eren also appears to draw very heavily from several tropes commonly seen in shounen anime protagonists, something that is unlikely to mesh well with the dynamics of the RP. Key examples would be his presence at an orphanage, the quest against evil, the inherited sword and his quest against "evil". After some discussion with my players, I feel that there would be great difficulties incorporating you and Eren into Angelcynn. It is a minor point, but spelling Deira correctly may have been helpful! Thanks anyway, I hope you're able to find a roleplay more suitable for you and your ability!
  15. Tarquin looked at Megumi stoically as she scanned him. Even the needle didn't phase him, he'd experienced more than his fair share of vaccinations and blood tests during his upbringing. The confirmation of his well being was reassurance enough for him - any shrapnel presence would have made things far more unpleasant for him. Surgery wasn't something he was familiar with outside of some light reading, and Tarquin had no intentions of learning about it firsthand. The cold spray wasn't too dissimilar to the foam he'd used to treat himself, but the numbness that followed was more than a surprise. His pain cooled rapidly, fading away into a chilly emptiness. It wasn't just that he couldn't feel the pain, it was the absence of sensation entirely. The safety of the laboratory hadn't prepared him for sensations like this, the wide array of emotions other people had instilled in him. Sensations like friendship and discomfort were so alien to him, the narrow scope he'd experienced before felt rather limited in comparison. "Thank you, Doctor Amparo." Tarquin replied, rather lost for words. There were several things he wished to ask the doctor, but with so many other people present there were too many ears that could listen. Especially if he were to bring up his protocol. It was probably best that he remained in the medbay for a short while, if only to give himself a short while to gather his bearings. Astin's lamentation of Juria's injuries didn't really strike too much sympathy into the boy, Juria had brought it upon herself. "She's not dead, there were far worse things that could have occurred." Tarquin pitched in, making an attempt to avoid sounding too judgemental - so far he'd gathered people didn't react well when you talked down to them. "Injury and death are possible occurrences in battle, if you consider the risk too great it may be less troublesome to leave her on the Heion Riese instead."
  16. In that case I can just kill you, bro, and not have to make the hard decision!
  17. Thank you both for sharing interest! Bunny, we should probably sit down and discuss some details to help integrate you into the plot when the time comes! Kenta, whilst I can appreciate the effort you've put into the sign up, there are some glaring flaws that really need amending before we even consider including Eren. His nationality is Wykian yet he was raised in Deira? There's water separating the two, so there needs to be some justification how he ended up there. Or just making him Deiran! How old was he when said mercenaries saw his act of bravery? Why did said mercenaries see it, why were they at the orphanage? This needs fleshing out and explaining. It's very unlikely that such a young boy would be sent on a solo mission by a mercenary group, and I'm afraid that the dead mercenary troupe trope has already been used in this RP in the form of the Reliants. What is this evil he wishes to eliminate? Is Eren religious? The world of Angelcynn isn't black and white, most countries are some shade of grey. It would again need details clarifying the nature of it. Integration with the party is another issue, a solo mercenary is unlikely to appeal too much to the in character party, since they've already got several mercenaries working under them. What makes Eren marketable? Another key issue is your past posting style. The single line format which you appear to use in other roleplays is not deemed suitable for Angelcynn. Posting quality is generally fairly high, I have a good group of players who put effort into details when writing. Whilst length does not necessarily indicate quality in roleplay posts, a single line is unlikely to be able to engage to a sufficient degree in the setting of Angelcynn. None of these are cause for a hard rejection, but I would implore you to address the issues I've highlighted with your sign up. If you can do this, I'll be more than happy to look over it again! Good luck!
