some of my splice contest entries take almost 3 hours, so 1 hour isn't that long imo :| haha
Anyways, my biggest issues are the eyes, the pillow shading on the chest and the spikes on the near shoulder(they don't seem to match the angle properly.

@ALS: the aa from the blue collar trim to the white collar seems a bit stark, maybe more aa with the darker white shades, iono.

Believeme, I know people can edit things after splice contests, I all but re-did my Ishtar splice after the contest, my point is that they can't change it for this contest, that's all.
I'm sure if I checked, I could find plenty a time where others have crit work in these topics
I made a similar comment to Seph just the other day when I thought he was a little out of line in the submissions part, at least in submissions someone can change their thing FOR the contest.

I wasn't going to steal the Leila design... I did it firstly to help with the cnc on the body shape, I just had nothing better to do so I had a hand at shading it, then I thought it'd be good to make a point about how YOU would be hypocritical about design theft... If you noticed I had countless "haha's and lol's" in that IM both before and after I showed you it, if you'd also noticed I DID post my WIP or Jerrrike/Joshua yet I hadn't posted Leila?.. anywhere... on any forum... IIRC I showed the fe7x blast chat because I plan on using the shaded nude base(Which is in a similar pose... not even the same pose, and cropped at that for an fe7x mug).
Learn to take a joke maybe, if I wasn't clear enough that I WAS joking, then that is my fault, and I should've been clearer that I wasn't stealing your design, believe me, IF I ever wanted to use a design of yours I'd ask.
Finally, you didnt seem to think I was such a self rightous egoistic bastard when you were asking for a hand with shading and the likes or when my cnc was directed at you, I don't cnc things to make myself feel better or to show off... If you can't understand that, then it's no wonder you think I'm a jerk.

I'd have to vote nickt's, for all its anatomical and shadin issues, it's the most original(IMO) an the cleanest, it really does make me think "merc" so i Dno what you're all on about :P

@Nickt: while a lot of what you said is valid, it woulda been a whole lot more useful in the respective galleries before the voting began so that they could actually fix the issues. How you listed it, as well as your previous comment come across as very spiteful, no I didn't find the set inspiring either and nor did I vote, but there is nothing anyone can do about their entries now, I don't know about everyone, but I feel that were you to at least start with a "just so you know for next time, I think (comments)", it would have taken the edge off your words, if you wanted to sound obnoxious then you might want to re-think being a part of the forum environment, galleries really are the space for more than just a passing comment, if yor going to cnc a work then try to do it at the right time and place, huh?

I was cnc'ing Nayr's Dheg and I looked at mine as I did, I realised how much I'd dithered him and stuff so I fixed that, tidied up a few other parts and did a colour balance.
Dheg was my first FC, though I've edited him like 4 times since :D

Ffe10 sprites annoy me, they're not pixel art anymore haha I did try one once, it turned out very average, I might have a go again at some point.

@Dancer, I think I have some of my old ones on the first page of my fend topic, I used to do fe9 mugs, though they were all quite messy and stuff, that stuffs from years ago, a while b4 I actually joined and posted it on fend, this one i actually put loads of effort into and a lot of custom work, most of his face is now custom :D I'm very pleased :D

Yay for much updated Karel, that now looks a lot more like Karel :| I did a side by side and I was sad that I thought the old one looked like Karel.
His OA was my main ref.
@Xiltas, if you check his OA it looks quite crazed, I went for that look more than his GBA mug's look.

A far bit of custom work and alot of splicing tiny parts together :| so time consuming!

@Seph: Your cnc is probably better off in a Gallery, while it isn't "wrong" to put it here, if people were to go through and cnc all the sprites they thought had issues in splice comps, people would stretch the pages ridiculously, and we'd all end up off topic, I think leaving this thread to "submissions" would be your best bet, It also allows ALS to search through a lot more simply and find the submissions for the poll.
The angles more than anything else held me back from wanting to make a splice this round, and the giant hand covering half of Narshen's body haha. (We needs!!11!1111 a female set next week)

Loool why are all the comments italicized and bold, quite funny.
Syrene's hair might be an ok point of reference when shading Vincent's, the whole long strands coming from a headband thing is a common feature between the 2.
His face is quite well done, but your cloth shading belies that of the overall appearance of the sprite, it's like it gets lost under the rough cloth shading, first and foremost with the hair I'd suggest trying to get a smooth clean outline and block colours before continuing onto shading it.
I dno, this thing is probably too thin but I was just trying to mess around and get the pose a bit more natural and have things a bit more in proportions, possibly failed a bit at it haha cause as I said he's like manorexic. But you kinda liked the ano Karel so i dno hahaha.
