  1. I give it very little chance that it doesn't get overturned by the supreme court. They've made it clear where they stand.
  2. have another day in tweets https://twitter.com/therecount/status/1322636317252030471 https://twitter.com/GlennKesslerWP/status/1322644157937127426 https://twitter.com/KFILE/status/1322724403579396096 Day in news: https://www.thedailybeast.com/biden-camp-cancels-austin-texas-event-after-pro-trump-ambush-on-campaign-bus https://www.rawstory.com/2020/10/revealed-far-right-extremists-are-circulating-plans-to-lock-down-arizona-streets-if-trump-is-re-elected/?fbclid=IwAR3ZgbV8w3ffB2mN6bzeE4GajWvPXLNdWpkU_gGzDs1ta0GSgWyhEGmU3C8 Time to get your guns and prepare for the second civil war, I guess.
  3. If you're still on the fence, I'm just going to come out and say that you should vote Biden/Harris and whoever's the democrat running for the senate in your state. The reasons for this are many, let me just sum some of them up 1. Trump is a criminal, Biden and Harris aren't. He's committed a dozen obstructions of justice, tried to bribe at least one foreign country, probably committed tax offenses, and incited violence against people. 2. Trump is trying to cheat the election and him and his senate and Supreme Court allies are trying to turn the US into a one-party state. From the gerrymandering, to destroying the USPS ability to deliver mail-in ballots, to calling the election results in doubt if he wins, and now repeated attempts by state republican parties to manipulate results by doing things like placing fake ballot boxes. 3. Trump has made the US a laughing stock and an unreliable ally, while he buddies up when th dictators who are trying to undermine the US. His negotiations with North Korea for denuclearisation were a big nothingburger, he pulled out of the Paris Climate Agreement, and then TTIP as well. 4. Trump is a racist who has a long history of being a racist shitheel to his tenants and now insists on calling peaceful protesters calling for justice reforms as rioters and looters, and has told his justice department to treat them like enemies of the state. 5. Trump has set the US to leave the WHO if he's re-elected. 6. Currently in the courts to kill Obamacare/ACA and replace it with nothing. 7. The republican proposed HEALS coronavirus relief bill is a huge piece of shit that will do nothing for you and shield your employer from liability for not keeping to the coronavirus regulations. 8. The federal coronavirus response has been nothing short of a disaster Points in favour of Biden/Harris 1. A big expansion of Obamacare/ACA. 2. The HEROES act, the democratic proposed coronavirus relief bill that will extend the relief from the CARES act for a long time. 3. Federal minimum wage increase to $15/hr, from $7.25/hr. 4. Start applying now tried and true ways of combating the spread of covid. 5. Green new deal, which promises massive investments into helping smaller businesses. 6. Find the 550 or so children that went missing from the Trump concentration camps, improve the lives of the people in those camps, who are currently being treated way worse than people in prison, up to the point where a court had to order the Trump admin to give them access to toothbrushes and toothpaste. 7. Put an end to the wave of aggression against minorities that started under Trump 8. Federal justice reform
  4. Do your mom and brother by any chance watch fox news?
  5. The Trump wall doesn't work and is in fact already breaking down
  6. Right now you're still banned from traveling to most of the EU and getting residence in any EU country isn't easier than in the US.
  7. And I'm telling you that the republicans are doing their very best to rig apportionment in their favour, and rig swing states into solid red majorities. They've got ways of making up the difference. In any case, the death toll isn't so big that it's going to affect apportionment.
  8. You're forgetting the ongoing gerrymandering efforts.
  9. I could go either way on splitting up the states now that the courts have been fucked for the next 20-40 years. Most republican states are net benefactors from federal income, democrat states are net payers. All states already operate most government functions, so a transition shouldn't be too difficult, and any social security shortfalls can be filled by unpaid federal taxes.
  10. That might apply to Roberts, but don't bet on Gorsuch. His judicial philosophy can have him go either way.
  11. He has legal immunity until he stops being the president, so till january at least.
  12. Trump is going to pardon himself and his associates. While it's an open question whether or not a president can pardon themselves, there's going to be a conservative majority in the supreme court who'll rule in favour of the president. That's what I think will happen, at least.
  13. Apparently the insider trading wasn't limited to a few senators
  14. https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/10/california-republicans-drop-boxes-ballot-harvesting-fraud.html This was posted in the Cali ballot thread and I think it's worth crossposting Big trump energy
  15. Gorsuch also joined the majority in Masterpiece Cakeshop v Colorado
  16. On the other hand Dred Scot being overturned for being a steaming pile of shit is a good thing
  17. Where do you see that 5 justice majority? Roberts, Alito and Thomas dissented in Obergefell, and two of them definitely don't care about stare decisis. We have a good idea of where Kavanaugh and Barrett stand on the issue. Which leaves Gorsuch as a questionmark, but from where I'm standing there's 4 justices who will definitely overturn Obergefell, and 2 who can be persuaded.
  18. https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/05/politics/amy-coney-barrett-supreme-court-confirmation-coronavirus/index.html republicans getting themselves sick by not obeying the distance rules and losing the supreme court appointment would be peak 2020.
  19. It's anyone's guess. The default position of the trump white house is to lie about or downplay everything.
  20. Apparently dexamethasone can do a number on you, mentally.
  21. I would not compare Trump to Hitler, Stalin or Saddam, but I wouldn't be very sad if he goes. I do believe his chances of survival are very good, though.
