I recommend against just using any colors and letting the program handle it if you can help it, simply because the automatically adjusted colors could end up looking terrible if the RGB channels are close together or it's very dark, but otherwise yeah you only need to pay attention to the hardware limitations if you personally think it's important just over here responding more than a week after everyone stopped caring about this topic

  9. Body shape is some better, battlers don't really have necks so head should be lowered (male only), hips look smooshed, hair shading is still bad, outfit is still going to be boring unless you're doing something later

  11. ugh fine Hair shading is super banded Chest appears to be a collapsed Chest shading doesn't define any shapes at all Tiny shoulders, and thin noodle arms Tome is a blobby rectangle, and the random dark shading on the corners does not define the shape; you could add a strip of skin tone to the left edge and it's instantly 3D o: o: Tome is too low, unless he has adhesive on his palm Pants are flat pillow shaded, the lighting give no information about shape or light direction Boots really want a third skin tone, the contrast is too high now Bright lighting on the boots shouldn't go up that high, it distorts the shape Too many different colors, it limits how many shades of each color you can use for detailed shading; the tome could be skin tone or hair colored They're plain because there's nothing interesting going on. Shirt, pants, belt, boots, OH LOOK A TOME WHOA. And then the default Mages have big stupid point hat and the cape. It doesn't seem like you have any goal for the look of the class and just did whatever? I basically just did an edit to the sprite and made a list of everything I changed

  17. The problem is GBA FE doesn't use realistic proportions, so using realistic proportions makes it wrong :M

Dora's age is listed in one of the art books as being in her 20s in 7, but the art book can go jump off a cliff :3 29 and 31 aren't very different, but 12 and 14 are, so fudging numbers for the sake of the game whatever. And she does look early 30s/late 20s anyway so it's not a big deal I think
  19. I am not opposed to 7x's inclusion in this, seems like an interesting project. Although obviously I can't just throw out all the story stuff we've come up with since spoiling the plot whoops. Hopefully no giant irreconcilable plot holes come up :J Also you're correct in your estimation 7x takes place 17 years before FE7 (we're using Lyn's age from the Japanese version), but there is a second part of the story that's 5 years after that so some characters will have two pre-FE7 faces ~'3'~ In non-face sprite related contributions, I have a slightly detailed map of Lycia (excuse the glitchy bits on the right) with a bunch of unnamed marches. Also we estimated the size of Elibe to be roughly similar to Britain, ~600miles long? This places Pherae and Ostia about a 3-4 days ride apart (Pherae to Caelin, Caelin to Laus, Laus to Ostia each about a day). Maybe if FE6/7 give any accurate travel times in days it could be refined

  21. ahahaha these animations are terribly boring, and using the same animation for t1 and t2 oh boy At least it's not a dealbreaker, game should still be fun.
