  1. Stellaris, at least when I last played it. (For those unfamiliar, in Stellaris, pops are automatically assigned to a job available on the planet they're on. As population grows over time, this requires more and more calculations which leads, or at least led, to dramatic performance issues starting in the midgame. A possible solution, well...) Our hero works hard to completely destroy his disabled friend's fantasy world.
  2. Banned because sometimes, you have to treasure your own ignorance. I am also banning Benice because he absolutely deserves to.
  3. Let me get this straight. You want to play Engage, but Vander is the second-to-last recruitable character?
  4. Banned because very few Pokemon are mono-coloured
  5. Banned for avatar swapping
  6. Ich furze grob in seine Richtung. Seine Mutter war ein Hamster und sein Vater roch nach Holunder. Nun hebe er sich hinweg oder ich werde ihn ein zweites mal verhöhnen.
  7. Reminds me of an ancient little journalism story in Germany where somebody edited an extra name into the then-new minister for economic's wikipedia article, which was then copied by numerous newspapers and magazins.
  8. Thanks. These occasionally pop up in my recommended list, but I completely forgot about them You're probably right, which is a testament that every monotype is probably fairly viable in RBY.
  9. Banned for rebelling against the status quo.
  10. T-wave+ Wrap though... I actually wonder how tough a hypothetical Dratini(-->...) solo with it as your starter would be. Brock would suck, but you can probably Leer his defenses low enough that you have enough Wrap PP to get through him. Dratini can learn Water Gun for Rock Tunnel, and if you get past Misty and the Rival in Cerulean City (the latter of which might also put a strain on your Wrap PP), the world is kinda your oyster. Misty gives you Bubblebeam as an upgrade to Water Gun, Surge gives Thunderbolt, and once you get to Celadon, you get access to Ice Beam. Dragon Rage, too, although that might be a bit expensive/luck-based since it comes from the Game Corner.
  11. Mark is annoying for, like, two lines per chapter. Kris and Corrin are terrible all the fucking time. Binding Blade's story is better at what it needs to do than like 80% of the series, don't @ me
  12. The best thing about Mark is that they have virtually zero story presence, lol
  13. The currently ongoing ASL Season 15, the Korean StarCraft: Broodwar league had a funny little monkey's paw situation:
  14. Radiant Dawn - You have Shinon who's a good unit for the Greil Mercs from start to finish, Rolf's far more redeemable than his PoR incarnation, too, and even Leonardo has some specific niches he can fill. Marksman is a perfectly viable engame class, too, which is pretty rare in the series, as far as I've played it. Binding Blade - You have a game where being able to use bows is really really good and both Archers still manage to be terrible. It's kinda funny, actually. On the other hand, both prepromoted Snipers are quite decent - not amazing, but it's not too hard to find a spot for them on your team. Shadow Dragon / New Mystery - To be honest, I don't remember how the SD meta is. Jeorge is good, I think? Unfortunately, i do remember that the Archer class is quite bad in both these game, which I think is a bigger problem in Shadow Dragon. In New Mystery, Hunter->Sniper is a reasonable promotion path to take, since Horseman has pretty low class bases and only shines as a class for somebody with incredibly good personal bases. In SD, that isn't possible because the two classes are in different class sets, so I would guess that maining Sniper isn't as good. The instant C rank might have some value for chapter-by-chapter reclassing though. Happy to change my mind on these ones, though. Sacred Stones - Innes on Eirika's path is fairly good. Otherwise, bad class. Neimi/Colm can be a funny crit battle couple, if you like to set up things like this. Path of Radiance - Shinon's earlygame utility puts this above BlaBla. Everything else about the class is bad, though. Blazing Sword - Rebecca can be a fun unit to train if you're so inclined, but she's still really weak. Wil is also really weak and not even fun to train. Louise has some use on her own merit (I tend to find her useful on Cog, which is honestly not a bad trait to have), but she's often most useful for the free A support with Pent.
  15. They have different angles with the two finger pairs. I'm afraid this is going to be one of the botched fusion versions.
  16. Oh boy, getting directions from my mum when the road is blocked by construction work... "I think you had to go right there." "OK, you should go right here." (...) "I wonder if it's even possible to go right here." Me: "Last sign said to go left soon." Mum: "OK. (...) You should swap to the right lane."
  17. Banned because that it Kringe, Florian Kringe.
  18. The term "Ferengi" in Star Trek, used for a people with a hyper-capitalist, misogynistic culture, shares its etymological root with the term "French", used for a people/country in Western Europe. The common root is "Frank"/"frankish", referring to not what we now call France, but to the Frankish empire, which under Charlemagne span from Brittany to the Balkans. Crusaders in the 11th and 12th would often introduce themselves as "Franks", even if they were actually, say, Norman. In Arabic, this then became "Farang" or "Faranj", from where the word spread throughout Asian languages as far away from Europe as Thailand. Specifically, the Wikipedia article on Ferengi cites a ST writer referring to the usage in the Persian language.
