  1. I am more than aware when my bias reachs, since I tend to analyze my options very deeply. However, that doesn't stop me from using Wolt, since I'm not looking for the most optimal strategy. I'd rather go with what I like, but being aware that it the game gets difficult, it's my own fault.
  2. I'm actually more tired about the "Am I the only one" questions. Seriously, you are not the only one, there's no need to start a thread with that question. Anyways, as many have said, you shouldn't take the hate that people throw to the game personally, since it's a matter of preferences most of the time wether you like it or not. Although it is true that some threads have derailed because of it, can't deny that.
  3. 6>9>2>8>5>4>14 !BR=14 !CQ>3>10>12>11>14 !RV>7 Never finished FE1 since I got bored of it half way through.
  4. Really enjoy tier: Hector- He has been one of the most useful lords in any playthrough I've had of FE7 Ephraim- Basically Hector but with a weapon I like a little bit less Roy- Biased. Sure, why not tier Ike- You are pretty dang awesome, and PoR is certainly a game to have you in. Such a shame that RD exist. Marth- The classic Lord. Can't go wrong with him. Sigurd- The almighty Sigurd! But I don't like horses all that much. Seliph- You do your job greatly, therefore I like you. Okay tier Leif- Can't quite remember a lot about this guy, but he did his job. Alm- You do your job, that's all I need. Eirika- I wanna like you more... but why did you gave the stone to Leo again? Eliwood- He's alright Celica- Cool concept, decent unit. If I have to... tier Micaiah- Lacks some interesting growth Robin- You are a good unit, but you certainly are bland Lucina- Why we don't get a game over when you die is something I'll never understand Chrom- Eh. Kris- Eh. No. Corrin- A Mary Sue that has zero personality aside from being an idiot. At least he's useful. Lyn- Lyn, Lyn, Lyn... I hate you so much. First of all, why are you a Lord? You are extremely irrelevant, I could literally take you out of the entire plot and nothing would change. Aside from that, she's an extremely bland character with little to no personality. As a unit, she's a worse Swordmaster that...can use bows... yay?... But by far, what makes me despise Lyn more than anything else, is that her entire story is a damn tutorial! A ten chapter long tutorial! And it's so painfully slow! She seriously drowned my interest for FE7 as a whole. I can't stand her.
  5. Oh Dissidia, you were literally the only reason for me to buy a PSP.
  6. I love using debuffs most of the time, but they tend to be something that you use in special/boss fights. Same goes for buffs, but I don't find them to be quite as interesting. !SNES FFV has the most broken Sleep debuff ever (It won't wear off if you don't use a physical attack), and Old is probably one of the scariest debuffs to deal with. It basically levels you down non-stop, and if you have Haste (one of the most useful buffs), the effect will happen even faster! In Pokemon, status effect is a big part of my playstyle most of the time, and they have a lot of depth when combined with some other attacks or items. In the Mystery Dungeon games, they tend to be something that you shouldn't be afraid to fight against (Most of them wear off after going to the stairs), but they are very strong when you use them (My first time beating the final boss of PMD2 he couldn't do anything since I threw him a Scare Seed) Live a Live really likes having powerful attacks that weaken you, and the debuffs can hurt you badly. However, the game also has a lot of booster attacks that are bonkers (Cube alone is already ridiculous, and then you add some of his attacks) Golden Sun has my favorite set of buff/debuff balance. The buffs wear off, but are very powerful, summons level up your elemental damage, but leave you vulnerable since you have to Set Djinns to do it, debuffing a boss is a viable option and sometimes even a better one than buffing since they have attacks that nullify said buffs. Status effects are rather bad however. Except for Lethal Poison, which is broken.
  7. Fire Emblem Gaiden, funnily enough. It certainly has been quite the interesting experience, may I say.
  8. The best answer I could give you is a question: Do you want to win, or do you want to play with your character? You have to set this before anything else, because it's the most important aspect while playing Smash. Some people play because they want to win in whatever way it works. Others, take some priority off winning, and place it into the character they are using, and they're okay on losing as long as they can do it with the character they love. If you want to win: Go with some of the better characters. Diddy, Mario, Cloud, Sheik, Sonic. Whatever you prefer that suits your playstyle, but that you also know it works and it's efficient. The top tier cast in Smash 4 has plenty of variety so you can't really use that as an excuse. At the same time, reading your post it seems like you don't like doing what works if you find it boring. But if you really want to win, you'll have to use it. There's no "honor" or that kind of concepts in Smash, it's the other person's fault if they don't know how to deal with the efficient way of playing a character. If you want to play with your character: This one is harder, since you have to decide a character that you love so much that you will not mind losing with. Remember, loses can get you a lot of experience if you start analyzing all the things you do wrong and right. Experience is one of the key elements while playing Smash so don't throw it away just because you lost. After that, there's also some kind of motivation for you to keep playing with the character, and you can't complain about other characters being better, because it's you, and only you, the one that decided picking him up. Playing a low tier character can be something very frustrating to some people, since you will see a lot of times how big the disadvantage is between your character and the better part of the cast. You are free to choose any of the two paths, but you have to be aware of the "disadvantages" of both, and even if you use a good characters, loses can happen. This is from my experience. I main Mega Man since the release of Smash 4, but it was not something easy for me to do. In fact, I hated it because at first, everything was so hard. So many things to manage, to practice and to apply in all of my matches. Could I even reach a point where I could win against someone competent? It's been almost two years since then, and I'm glad that I decided to keep it up, to follow my path. And watching players like ScAtt and Kamemushi reach high placements in big tournaments, just made me realize how worth it everything was. And this motivated to play a lot more characters. I'm not a top national player here in my country, but my proggression is something that I can feel, and it has been very satisfying.
  9. Kaze: I wanted to like him, but he certainly was bland. It's amazing how the only ninja that has some actual character is Saizo. As a unit he's alright. Also why do you recruit him in Conquest? It makes no sense. Azama: That shitposter friend that you know that while he's not trying to be that mean, he is. I do like him quite a lot since I can be just as mean spirited sometimes. As a unit he's interesting, but damn his personal skill is useless after promotion. Gunter: It's funny to think that my top 2 characters in Fates are Corrinsexual, but Gunter personality just hits in all the right places for me. His supports are interesting, his design is awesome and I love his backstory, even if it does make marrying him a little bit weird. I also like the fact that they went back to the actual Jagen character instead of another Seth or so, although it does makes me sad just how hard it is to use him outside of being a Pair Up bot later on.
  10. Reading through a lot of this, it seems like the idea of the Lord that start of as unlikeable but puts it's effort into getting better and becomes an interesting character is a pretty common theme, and I can see why. But I would like to try out something different. I would like a Lord that starts great. As a good leader, decisive and capable. But that while the story progresses, things start crumbling down. He starts making mistakes that frustrates him, his troops distrusts his decisions, and sometimes that ends up being for the better, exposing that Lord's mistakes. I want a Lord who seeks out help from the others to not fail. I want him to be afraid, insecure... but only for themselves, since he's aware about the fact that he is commanding an army, and has to keep up even if just for the rest. Another thing I would love to see is a good "plot twist" noble. Have you ever wondered why the "evil" nobles or the "mad" ones become like that? If any of you have ever played Live a Live (SPOILERS), I want a character that passes through a similar trial like the one Oersted passed. Where this noble tries to do things for it's country, tries to save most people and become the hero that they need. But in the end, everything fails, and everyone who he knows and loves, betrays him or just downright hates him. I would love to play the story of the fall of a possible Hero.
  11. Physical Weapon: Axes! I just love axes the most in every FE game, it has a lot to do with the fact that the characters I like are axe wielders. And while their hit rate is rather shaky, hitting even one time feels very satisfying. Magic: This is a tough call. I love both Light and Dark magic, but I gave Light my vote since it's the most based around crits (Except for Dark Luna in FE7) and also because I love Bishops! Also, you gotta love the Aureola animation being Jesus' nuclear bomb. Anima Element: Wind! It's effective against those pesky flying units, and it's low weight helps out a lot, with an alright damage towards other units.
  12. Nina: I'm pretty neutral to her overall. She's not bad, but neither is one of my favorites. Dwyer: I find this guy to be pretty fun, mostly because I have a friend who's very similar to him, so I could relate to it's overall character. As a unit, he worked wonderfully in my team as a Strategist.
  13. Hisame: He probably is my favorite children just because of how down to earth he is. It actually feels like an actual person because his gimmick is not that big of a deal on most of his supports. His character overall feels nice and calm, and his supports help him out a lot (His support with Ophelia is one of my favorites). Unit wise... eh, he's alright I guess. Camilla: No. Get out. Even if you are an amazing unit, I despise your overall character. Izana: My favorite character in Fates by a long shot, all thanks to the fact that he is not serious at all, and he feels extremely out of place for the times. That would be a bad thing under most situations, but since Fates' plot is so garbage, I don't really care about the "seriousness" and I want some more fun, and Izana brings plenty of hilarious lines but him. He's not "deep" or anything, but he is fun, and that's all I need. Too bad he's Corrinsexual and that he dies for no reason at all. I actually hate Takumi just because Izana dies for him. Why must you take away my beatiful Izana!
  14. Benny: I love the gentle giant archetype, and Benny is no exception. I love his personality and how nice he is to people. As a unit he's a Knight, and a damn good at that. I like him more than Effie. Arthur: Fun character, but rather simple. Meh as a unit. Iago: When he appeared for the first time, I was hyped. His design and VA were awesome, and I was seriously hoping he would come out with a masterplan of some sorts (Betraying Garon or something, I mean he would have been a better boss than suddenly Takumi). But in the end, all of my hopes and dreams were crushed, and instead we got a extremely boring character that has NOTHING interesting at all.
  15. Peri: And you are supposed to be the replacement of my beatiful Henry?... I was honestly dissapointed since I love mad characters because you can do a lot of things with them and be extremely creative with their insanity, but Pery just fails horribly at it with her bratty attitude. She does not have a single point of experience in my playthrough so don't expect to say how good she is as a unit. Midori: I actually used her in my Revelations playthrough, mostly because I liked some of her supports and I never got tired of "Mighty Midori!". She was alright, but as most people have said, she's a slower, but stronger version of her father. Overall I'm okay with her.
  16. This is a miss-conception. Mewtwo gets a LOT from it's throws, his least damaging throw deals 9% and has some setups if your opponents DIs in the wrong way. (DThrow) and FThrow deals 13%, that alone can do more damage than a lot of other character's DThrow>Follow up.
  17. The worst part is that even in Revelations "happy ending", some characters die in some extremely random and dissapointing ways, while one of them gets to live for whatever reason (Even if I like that character!). BR plot feels rather generic, but that's not really a bad thing considering FE CAN work with simole story telling. Sadly, it still is rather boring, but it's better than the gigantic mess that CQ and Revelations bring
  18. Thiefs/Assasin: I hate Fates for getting them out. I don't like Ninjas at all. But thiefs are my favorite class by a long shot, I love their design and how they use daggers to attack, and the Assasin critical hit in the GBA games is pure awesome. Druid: This one has always been the hardest decision for me, since I love all variations of Mages (except the ones with cavalry, I don't like them a whole lot), but Druids take the cake with their amazing raw power, and their amazingly cool looking Dark Magic. Halbedier/Spear Master: I loved Generals back when I started playing FE, but the Soldier had some charm that I just really liked. Maybe it was the fact that they were a less extreme version of Knights, with some actual movement. I love playing the Tellius games and BR/RV just because of this amazing class.
  19. I'm the very first person voting for Zealot... and I'm not at all that surprised tbh. I just really like him as a mid game Jeigan and he is a char which I enjoy thanks to his supports.
  20. Charlotte: This girl won me over. When I saw her design and "nice" personality, I thought she was going to be one of my most hated characters. But everything changed with her "other" personality, which I absolutely love. She also has some reasoning to be like she is, unlike other certain Royal... As a unit she's alright I guess. I'm biased since I love Berserkers in FE. Overall, probably my favorite female char. Odin: He changed so much, and only for the better. His personality is still fun and he has some more character to it. I haven't seen a lot of his supports but from what I've seen, I really like him. Haven't used him enough to have a clear opinion of him as a unit Zola: I like him more than Iago and Hans, although that's not saying a lot, but I feel like he had some potential that was wasted. I would have loved to use him as a unit.
  21. Orochi: Your personality annoyed me but I gave you a chance. And you blew it horribly with that terrible speed. Benched and forgotten. Mitama: Maybe I'm the minority here, but I reaaaaay dislike her. Her gimmick is just annoying and randomly placed, and her personality just hits me in a bad way overall. I do not know anything about her as a unit since I didn't even bother with such an annoying char.
  22. Hinata: One of my favorite characters. I love how much of a nice guy he is, even if he's also rather dumb, it works pretty well and it has a lot of great supports (Odin/Hinata is hilarious). As a unit, he's alright. I made him a Master of Arms and he was a pretty good tank on my BR team against anything that wasn't magic. Silas: I really wanted to like you Silas, since you have one of my favorite voice actors. But you are SO bland! It's not even funny and it reaches a point where I just want him to be gone. As a unit, my Silas ended up getting speed screwed, so rip. Hans: He feels like one of those generic bandits that IS throw from time to time to have you busy, only with a "bigger" role that doesn't suit him at all.
  23. Putting it like that, any character loses against someone with a kill throw. And there's also the fact that Mewtwo is one of the easiest characters to ladder combo. Anyway, Meta Knight, the "who needs neutral when I can kill" character of the game. He is the embodiment of Feast or Famine in the game. The character has some of the most amazing punishes of you whiff something, and he carries the almighty "ladder combo" (which btw, after the patch it is "somewhat" escapable, but it has a lot to with DI mix ups and the MK player reading your movement well). However, the character, while scary when he's winning, has one gigantic flaw: His neutral is terrible. He barely has moves to approach or mix ups to do, since the only good things he has for that are Dash Attack, Dash Grab and RAR BAir, which all of them are pretty easy to telegraph. If the Meta Knight can't find a way to enter his opponent's zone, then there's not a lot of things that he can do. His bad MUs are probably the ones that can zone him well or force him to play their game. Sheik and ZSS are prime examples of that since they force MK to play more wary, something that he's not really good at.
