  1. Hey, welcome, glad to have you aboard! Heroes is kind of an interesting game for me. I have four mobile games on my iPod at this point in time: Heroes, KHuX, GoddessKiss, and Tekken. I used to have Brave Frontier, but I mostly downloaded it for the VOCALOID collaboration event and let it go after I needed space for one of the big Heroes updates since I didn't even have Luka, the VOCALOID I was mostly after in the first place. A strange lineup of games, to be sure. Anyways, Heroes is currently the main one I log in to every day(Tekken being the other because I just started it last week), both for free Orbs and because when it came out I vowed I would not let the game go until my Defense Team lead was a 5S +10 Roy, and have since added to this vow the clause that said Roy shall have obtained as many Skills as I have the patience to give him through Skill Inheritance, so as you can imagine I'm gonna be here a while, especially as I only have 5 Roys at this time, 3 of which are still 4S. To be honest, even if it's not the absolute most amazing mobile game out there, it's still Fire Emblem I can play at work without needing to worry about damage to a more important system(and for those of you who say I can't break a 3DS at a fast food place, I have somehow managed to damage two separate handhelds at work despite never taking them out of my backpack - they're only brought for StreetPass). It's also given me new appreciation for several characters, for reasons including the lols such as Narcian, for major team carrying such as Delthea or Sakura, and of course for Bae Factor like Palla, who was only sort of on my Waifu List before Heroes and is currently probably Top 5 material(and will also be taken to 5S +10 before I give up on Heroes). It's also fun to see and obtain Seasonal variations that we can only ever find here in Heroes, like the adorable NekoSakura or the, uh…interesting Normal(?) Tharja. Skill Inheritance also means I don't necessarily have to be worried about whether my Unit of choice has a good base kit because I can just transfer Skills over from other less-loved Units(unless they're 5S-exclusive because no way am I killing off my only Hector to give DC to someone unless Refined Binding Blade doesn't come with DC), which makes it easier to just use who I want and not just who's good because everyone can be good. On the other hand, pretty much every week brings a new(usually 7-to-14-day-long) Banner with, more often than not, new Heroes to try and Summon. In addition, once you beat the Story and Paralogues on all difficulties, your Orb income slows noticeably, making it difficult to keep up with all the new Heroes that are only available for a limited time and you'll never summon them anyways because Pity Breakers wahaha(screw you Lucius). Even on Legendary Hero Banners, I've managed to get Pity Broken by Fjorm way too many times as I only wanted the one of her the Story gives me and promptly pulled like five over the course of the first two months(alongside two Spring Xanders, the one Unit from both Banners I wanted less than more Fjorms). The latest two Legendary Hero Banners, I believe I've had L-Ike's Banner net me one Bridal Caeda and one Summer Xander when I was trying to build up full five-Orb pulls for L-Ike(though I did get Gunnthra so I just dealt with it), and L-Ephraim's Banner handed me one free Summer Leo(I don't even like Leo) and zero other 5S Units - I would have been much better off trying for the lower Focus Rate of the Shadows in the Mirror or Love Abounds Banners, but instead because I tried for the 'greater chance' of the Legendary Banner it's now too late for an F2P like myself to build up enough Orbs to make a last run for LA-Roy or Witch Celica without spending money, so I just ended up about as happy by that whole ordeal as my Summer Leo was(thank goodness for owning two NNIDs to switch between - the alt account nailed LA-Roy and Grima). In the meantime, most players who come to the game thinking they can jump in with their favorite character instead get buried under a million Bartres, Serras, Lazlows, Arthurs, Florinas, Odins, (insert character you're tired of pulling)s, (insert other character you're tired of pulling)s, etc., which is a MAJOR killjoy, not to mention the game devs somehow had the mental disconnect that led them to think we'd all like to start out with VIRION of all characters as our first Gray Unit as opposed to, say, literally any Healer in the game, who would have been infinitely more useful for those early levels since Virion got benched before most of us even left the World of Zenith in favor of whatever we happened to pull with our 15 startup Orbs because no matter how bad they were, at least they're not this crappy 2S Virion. I'm actually my own best example for the it's-obnoxiously-hard-to-get-a-given-character problem - I heard about Heroes and realized I could put Roy, Cordelia, Camilla, and Sakura all on the same team and was excited as heck, downloading the game as soon as iTunes was open enough to let me download it. Roy and Sakura came at 4S each fairly early on and were the first two Units I threw Feathers into(and are still part of my core team incidentally, though I'm looking for optimal natures now), and Camilla blessed me by being the first 5S Unit I ever pulled, but I only finally got myself a 4S Cordelia for my main account last month - after an entire year of trying for her, long enough that I'd given up on ever getting her and also swapped Camilla out for B-Ike. This is far longer than I think your average player is willing to try for their favorite before giving up and going back to mainstream Fire Emblem because at least there the game actually lets me use the Unit I want to instead of playing hide-and-seek with crystal spheres. The only upside I can find about that turn of events is that I learned to appreciate Catria and Est much more in Cordelia's absence because they filled the role I wanted Cordelia for better than I expected. Another problem is the Banner duration - the very first two Banners lasted at the very least a full month, I want to say they went much longer because they were the first but I may be wrong. Now, I'm seeing way too many Hero Banners last no longer than a fortnight, slightly less than half that time. Not only does this get annoying because they keep pumping out so many Banners that we end up with like six active at a time, it's also obnoxious because it feels like there's hardly any time to try for a new Unit before they're gone, especially if they introduce new regular Units alongside new Seasonal Units such as Love Abounds and Shadows in the Mirror - I have to choose between epic-looking evil Grima and Celica or the adorable Valentine's Lilina and Roy, and I'm kind of getting tired of having to make those choices. Overall, though, even with all these things against Heroes, I still find myself diligently collecting login bonus Orbs and training up my just-upgraded-to-5S Ursula, my favorite self-centered Unit Narcian, and of course the army of fodder that will serve to be sacrificed on the Dragon's Table for the almighty Epic Roy I strive to achieve. Who can say how the hearts of men function?
  2. And you missed my point - however many variations of Link there are, there's still only one guy allowed to use any given variation of Link. If I want to use Spinjitzu the Spinner but he wants to use the Gauntlets, you can't just say 'well, there's two other Links, go play one of those' because neither of them have movesets that work even remotely similar to how the Spinner and Gauntlets work. This is less of a problem with younger players because for the most part they don't care which Link or Zelda they're playing, they just want to be Link or Zelda, but the rest of us get screwed. While clone movesets are annoying, they still fix that problem. Do I wish there were multiple moveset options for an individual character? Yes, I think Sakura should be wielding a Bow differently from Niles and Anna, and the Pegasus Knights have to have incorporated their own individual flares into their fighting styles, but in the end I'm not making the calls, so I make do with what I get.
  3. Alas, poor Bonejamin. He was a good Faceless the three percent of the time he wasn't hungry. Also thanks for that image in my head, seeing Garon and Anankos sob about the futility of even destruction and conquest was…awkward, actually. 77.7: Someone needs to start this game in the subforums for all the other games because let's face it this is too priceless to pass up. 80: No more chasing alternate versions of Corrin off My Castle premises with your actual weaponry no matter how disturbing or out-of-whack you think they look. They're guests, not invaders. 81: Continuing on, no more disturbing doting on or petting of alternate versions of Corrin. You know who you are, and no, it's not ok to have your own harem made entirely out of alternate versions of your own brother(and I shouldn't have to even consider also including female versions of said brother but I do, sicko).
  4. The difficulty I see here is that the clones still do something, even though that something is mostly just be more bodies for (Weapon)-only Missions. For example, unless you buy the SD DLC, you will have a grand total of three Axe Units - Camilla, Lissa, and Frederick. All of them are good Units, yes, but you are still only able to use three when nearly all Axe-only Missions offer four spaces(so you can use more Units once you S-rank the map and remove the restriction, yes, I know). If Minerva had been merely a costume for Camilla as you suggest, we still only would have had three Axes instead of four and I wouldn't be able to play with Minerva and Camilla at the same time. This also limits Support options as no two characters with the same moveset could speak with one another, eliminating two Supports from each Pegasus Knight(or THE Pegasus Knight, I guess) as well as the Navarre-Lyn Support. There is also the issue that different stat spreads allow Units to do different things - this is especially true of Archers, with Sakura able to make better use of Topsy-Turvy than the others to allow her to be a better beatstick against high-DEF low-RES foes like Great Knights. Speaking of Archers, how exactly are we supposed to explain them? If clones were run as you suggest, we would have a grand total of ONE Archer and ONE Pegasus Knight over the course of the entire game and by golly they had better be Sakura and Cordelia. As the DLC is, Tiki is still screwed no matter how clones are run, and we're basically dooming any future Stone Users to the same fate if we adopt your method - unless Nagi or Adult Tiki gets involved, there's no way they would come up with different movesets for all the dragon lolis. As for PRF Weapons, easy enough, just make a single generic PRF Weapon for that Weapon Type, and make it change based on who's holding it - Brynhildr changes to Dire Thunder when you pick Reinhardt Moonlight when you pick Elise, Fujin Yumi changes to Spellbane Yumi when you swap to Sakura, etc. Presto, no continuity errors while now making your glorified Smash-Bros-Lucina-color-swaps actually unique in some way since there are differences between PRF Weapons like Spellbane Yumi vs Fujin Yumi. The issue with Hyrule Warriors was that it wasn't actually several versions of Link, just different weapons the one Link could choose from. If my cousin and I both wanted to be Zelda, one of us would have to be content with Sheik or Toon Zelda, who both have completely different movesets that are both nothing at all like Zelda's Rapier style that I actually want to play but have to give up on because a 6-year-old thinks the Dominion Rod statues are hilarious and is mentally competent enough to recognize if I try to shaft him with a different character and adorable enough that the adults WILL side with him and make me be someone else or turn the thing off(eh, whatever, I can wait until he goes home, then you're all mine, sweet princess…wait, was that out loud?). FEW manages to get around the moveset part of that issue - if my friend and I both like to use Pegasus Knights, there are three lovely ladies to choose from, all of whom utilize the same techniques to allow us to both access a style of play we like, with the only problem arising if we both happen to take a liking to the same Lance-wielding beauty, in which case coughfriendshipisforgottenasIbeathimintothedirtforCordelia'ssakecough one of us will have to be someone else they like, which is surprisingly not that hard even with the less-than-perfect Roster, though it would be easier if we had Our Boi™ and The (insert adjective/possesive noun/verb here)'s Hero to play as. I will admit, though, that Units at least being able to swap between weapons their Class naturally offers should be a thing, even if the second weapon type ends up essentially making them a partial clone of another character - what if I want a spell-slinging Camilla like Fates lets me do? Or a Robin whipping a Levin Sword around? Or Frederick becoming truly a jack-of-all-trades with three different possible weapons? Warriors doesn't offer me that right now, and I would like to see that change, even if it means seeing Frederick take on Xander's moveset if you pick swords or Camilla being forced to dismount and run around throwing spells like Robin or Linde does.
  5. …and thus a new Forum game was born... 11: Odin I swear to Naga uh, the Divine Dragon that if you give one more ridiculous name to ANYTHING of mine there will only be two of us going back home. I'll let you think about which two it will be.
  6. Yeah, after playing Prime Hunters I must agree, though I don't know if it belongs in Prime 4 or if we should gun for a Hunters 2 - I mean, we never find out what happened to Weavel, Noxus, Kanden, Trace, and Spire, it's only Sylux that got teased in other games, so they could make a second Hunters game with beefed-up multiplayer.
  7. 6: All Units are no longer allowed to hex Felicia just because she spilled tea on Corrin. You know who you are.
  8. Again with disagreeing politely dude. In this case, it's quite possible he missed the announcement - I did and didn't find out about 11 until yesterday morning. Speaking of, I don't usually allow myself to curse, but…about damn time, Capcom.
  9. Unarmed Healers on Rout Maps. I don't like striking down enemies, even unreal enemies, who can't hit back - it doesn't sit well with me for some reason, at least in Fire Emblem, so I always leave unarmed Clerics, Troubadours, etc. alive if I can help it during older games thanks to Seize requirements. Occasionally I have to break the rule, such as certain maps in Shadow Dragon where the Healers are parked right by the boss and I can't one-round him without someone dying, but I usually only do so as a bit of a last resort.
  10. What? I thought the death of the WiiU was the day they announced they were delaying Sm4sh.
  11. But a Wiimote is like twice the size of a JoyCon. It's not button config that makes me not like the idea, it's the concept of playing Smash on such a tiny controller.
  12. Eh, you're good, it's my own fault for not buying a laptop by now. How would releasing it in mobile format even work? Would you have to run it through an emulator or something?
  13. Duly noted, I'll keep that in mind for if I ever eventually get one. But playing Smash with a single JoyCon…ew. Just ew.
  14. Woah, I only just noticed Celica. That's kind of awkward. So basically this is kind of like Project X Zone but with Fire Emblem…sounds good to me. On a separate note, have any of you played the RPG Maker Fes on the 3DS? Trying to decide if it's worth buying as it's currently the only way I can do an RPG Maker since this is a shared comp and my folks don't like me downloading anything.
  15. Yeah, but you mentioned that as being a possibility so I thought I'd let you know in case you didn't already.
  16. Blessings grant double SP gain to any Unit they're given to regardless of what season it is or whether the Legendary Hero is present, which can actually be useful once you hit Level 40 but still want them to inherit Skills without Promotion.
  17. How about a villain who wins? Just make the game end in guaranteed loss if certain conditions are not met, and make it at least end in a stalemate-esque situation if those conditions are met, so the hero never truly wins.
  18. …the one who looks barely older than Prologue Celica? I mean, I guess...
  19. But you have to make an exception for Pebble forging, otherwise how are you supposed to seriously confuse everyone who goes to your Castle and finds literally everyone only holding +5 Pebbles?
  20. I'd like that, it'd let them do a sibling theme like how the last CYL ended up with a father theme(plus Lyn but Ancestor so close enough), with Celica as Conrad, Ephraim as Eirika, Hector as Uther and Veronica as Bruno.
  21. Bro, chill, you can disagree with his idea without being rude. Also, from what I heard Other M played just fine, it was the absolute abomination of a 'story' they gave it that killed the game.
  22. Not bad, Elise is especially on point, though the choker thing is a little weird. Is there any way to make Sakura's hair a touch longer or is the next option on the creator too long? Just wanted to check as her hair is a little longer than that. Also, this may sound a little weird, but I recommend checking around in other games for music tracks as well to see if you find anything else that fits what you're going for - after playing Project X Zone I found myself wanting to include a couple tracks from there should I ever get around to such things, for example. Anyways, good work so far, looking forward to seeing where this goes!
  23. One playthrough I didn't kill the double in, I found a Dracoshield in the Astral Temple(not even in the Inner Sanctum either, a true stroke of luck). Make of that what you will.
  24. You know what I'll say, eh? Let's see if my thoughts are unexpected! To be honest, you're right, but my pride's been wounded by your superior bolded argument so I'm going to pretend I have some secret upper hand and say you're half-right. I'll meet you halfway and say she is nothing more than sex appeal and a mental illness, which unfortunately is still more than some fanservice characters out there get. The fact Xander let himself die knowing Camilla was next in line for the throne also does nothing to help my opinion of him either, thank goodness she abdicated in favor of Leo or who knows how fast Nohr would have gone to heck. Well? Anything unexpected or did I perform as planned? I tried to go at Warriors Camilla with an open mind and willingness to forgive(and Camilla-Caeda really tested me on that), but the Camilla-Sakura Support is just downright wrong. Even if you say the concept of the Support is ok, the execution has her looking like a creepy lesbian child stalker to anyone who doesn't know Sakura's actually legal. Even then, it's still not cool for more reasons than one.
