  1. Geneology of the Holy War, without a doubt. It's in my top 3 favorite FE games (Path of Radiance, Geneology of the Holy War, and Awakening). I would absolutely love a remake to experience the game with modern visuals and supports.
  2. Shadow Dragon was a legitimately bad game in almost every respect. The non-RNG level ups and special triggers from Heroes should make it into the main series. Romance supports are a good thing, but children rarely are unless the story naturally accomodates them. Have the spouses/best friends simply inherit each other's unique skills to have support choices impact gameplay. Manaketes should be replaced by Laguz in all future games. Awakening is a better game than it is given credit for. It just needed better pacing and foreshadowing.
  3. That sort of thing is more likely to come through iteration in the unlikely event that this becomes a running franchise. Think something along the lines of Dynasty Warriors 8 XTREME Legends.
  4. Full disclosure - I haven't yet played enough of Xander, Ryoma, Corrin, Tiki, or Lyn to form an opinion of them. My favorite character is Chrom. His animations are simple, fun, fluid, and impactful. My least favorite character is Elise. I just dislike her as a character and she breaks my immersion. Nothing to do with playstyle, as I like her clone, Leo. My least favorite playstyle is probably Rowan. Lianna feels a bit faster than him, and I simply find their playstyle to be marginally less appealing than everyone else. But there are no bad playstyles in this game.
  5. I want to see characters from Geneology of the Holy War and Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn. But if these are reserved for a sequel (and we actually get that sequel), I would be satisfied. Shadow Dragon Camus Merric Barst Awakening Gaius Panne Gerome (lance flyer clone) Fates Kaze (clone of Gaius) Kaden (clone of Panne) Benny If we can have characters from other games, I would like: Geneology of the Holy War Sigurd Levin Deirdre/Julia Shadows of Valentia Alm Lukas (clone of Oboro) Conrad Binding Blade/Blazing Sword Roy Hector Ninian Sacred Stones Eirika Ephraim Innes Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn Ike Nasir Tibarn
  6. Frederick is easily one of the most fun, fluid, and effective characters in the game, IMO. And considering this is an incredibly polished, well-balanced entry into the series, that's saying a lot. I've enjoyed every character's playstyle so far, and Frederick has been one of my favorites from the start.
  7. Which is why I couldn't wait. I bought the game in store today. My friend will be getting my other copy at half price. It costs me more money this way, but this is my most anticipated game of the year, and I simply have to have it immediately.
  8. Shame I couldn't have such luck. My online Best Buy order was sent to UPS mere hours ago and they didn't apply my free 2 day shipping. Yeah, I totally wanted the game next Tuesday, guys. Really. Great service.
  9. Happy to see Azura, Owain, and Navarre. Thoroughly displeased by the lack of Camus. Not to mention the lack of any dagger wielders.
  10. Musuo games always trend low with professional outlets. There is a negative bias towards them for being "repetitive" in a gaming industry in which the most popular genre can be summed up as "center your screen on your foe before they center theirs on you." The reviews for Musuo games are so poorly done that it becomes difficult to determine which ones are quality for their genre (like Hyrule Warriors and DW8 XTREME Legends) and which are not worthy of a Musuo fan's money (like Arslan Musuo and Fate Extella the Umbral Star). This isn't new or unexpected. It's a continuation of industry bias against an entire genre.
  11. I could see and understand that reaction. However, an Ike costume wouldn't be out of the question with Priam. It's sort of a backdoor, non-optimal way of getting him, but it's a pretty reasonable way nonetheless.
  12. I'm predicting: SD: Camus - too iconic to not include, need lance paladin Minerva - one of the few memorable SD characters Merric - due to relationship to other SD characters Awakening: Tharja - assets popularity Gaius - popularity Vaike - playstyle variety (and more likely than Barst or other popular axe infantry) Fates Azura - it's frankly criminal that she isn't in the base roster Kaze Odin I'm hoping for: SD: Camus Minerva (with Michalis alternate costume) Xane - so much playstyle potential Awakening: Everyone but Donnel and Nowi Priam - a small bone to throw to those of us, myself included, that wanted Ike Lon'qu - my spirit animal Tharja Fates: Azura Kaze or Jacob Kaden
  13. Well, I guess it's official. This mode should be renamed to Waifu Wars.
  14. I've pretty much built my own team to defensively counter Reinhardt and other popular threats. Julia tanks and spanks Reinhardt, Olwen, Ursula, and Linde, while also taking care of common meta heroes like Azura, Ninian, and Nowi. Ike or Ryoma check any green mages. Robin checks and kills red mages and Takumi/Kagero. And Azura allows me to repeat any of these depending on what I need. And it works. Defensive checks are the counter meta, and we may see them become more popular.
  15. Fire Emblem Heroes, despite its nature as a mobile gacha game, manages to be a compelling FE-lite experience in its own right. That said, every game could be improved through a few clever changes. These are the features that I would personally love to see. Innate Passives Skill inheritance is a great feature, but it also makes units into glorified stat sticks, unless they have a divine weapon. This suggestion would help preserve some level of unit identity. Each unit would have 1 unique passive skill, which would appear in slot 1. This skill is available at all rarities and comes with a single rank, which is already available to that unit. This skill cannot be inherited. This skill would have a letter I (for Innate) on display. See Online Friends & Daily Duels This feature would help to improve community interaction, make the friend's list meaningful, and allow players to have direct pvp matches. Challenge friends of your choosing to duels in real time. Both players must agree to the duel. Uses each player's defense (leftmost) team. Closing the game client counts as a surrender. There is a 2 minute time limit on each turn, to prevent stalling. Costs 1 dueling sword. The winner receives 50 feathers. This would have to come with a feature to see the online/offline status of your friends. Unlock Potential - 5 Star + The current merge ally system clearly exists to make duplicate heroes desirable, but it's tuned to be too difficult to max out certain units. Namely, rare 5-star only units are nearly impossible to max out, More importantly, we need a way to raise the merge level of grand hero battle units and the Askr trio by more than +1. A feature to unlock potential of 5 star units with a high cost would be a good compromise. Adds the feature to unlock the potential of a 5 star unit, raising their merge level by 1. Costs 300 great badges of their color, plus 20,000 feathers. Shares the same properties as merge ally stat bonuses, including a cap of +10 merges/unlock potentials. Does not reset level or cause any loss of skills. Daily Challenge - Dungeons Gives players a difficult daily challenge. 5 star lunatic difficulty. Can be successfully completed once per day. Costs 25 stamina. Light's Blessing cannot be used. If the player is victorious, they are rewarded 1 orb, 100 feathers, and some universal shards & crystals. Each daily dungeon has a small selection of randomly selected bonus heroes. If the map is completed with one of these heroes, the player receives an additional 100 feathers. Weekly Challenge - Raids The ultimate form of PvE content. 5 star lunatic difficulty. Consists of 3 maps, back to back. All 3 maps must be beaten in a single playthrough, but allies are revived with full hp after each battle. Can be successfully completed once per week. Light's Blessing cannot be used. Costs 25 stamina. If the player is victorious, they are rewarded 5 orbs, 500 feathers, a considerable quantity of universal shards & crystals, and a random Sacred Seal. Each weekly dungeon has a small selection of randomly selected bonus heroes. If the map is completed with one of these heroes, the player receives an additional 500 feathers.
  16. It's a shame that Hinoka has to go up against Camilla in the first round. It sucks to see a great character stomped by a terrible character that just happens to have an enormous rack.
  17. Which is why I specified. From my experience with the genre (which, full disclosure, is limited to Dynasty Warriors 8 XTREME Legends, Sengoku Basaara Samurai Heroes, Samurai Warriors 4, Arslan Warriors of Legend, and Hyrule Warriors), Magoichi Saika's Samurai Warriors 4 incarnation was the only fully ranged character that I found to be just as fun and useful as the melee. That said, the Musuo genre is one of my favorite genres and has been since I first picked up Dynasty Warriors 8 a couple years ago. Any game recommendations would be much appreciated. (And Fire Emblem Warriors has basically been my dream game for the past couple years, so I am incredibly excited for it).
  18. I liked its unique artstyle in regards to character portraits.... and nothing else. The game had zero personality, no mission mode variety, and turned units into nothing more than stat sticks with no support conversations, no real discernible personality. This was further exacerbated by the class change system, which removed any semblance of class identity as well. Despite playing through the game twice, I've effectively forgotten the vast majority of its story and content. It was just so forgettable all around. And my best friend, who has also beaten it twice, has said exactly the same. I'm not saying that this game has no redeeming qualities. If you like it, all the more power to you. To me, it's just the lowest point of the Fire Emblem series. But I suppose that the lowest point in the Fire Emblem series is still far above the quality of just about any other franchise.
  19. Not an archer, but as far as ranged characters go in a Warriors style game, I would use Magoichi Saika from Samurai Warriors 4 as a great example of how a ranged character can be fun and effective in these types of games.
  20. No, because I wholeheartedly dislike immersion breaking costumes - especially on some of my favorite characters.
