  1. "Which of these eight mages will prove most popular?" That is literally word for word from the in-game notification for this gauntlet. I don't think they would word it like that if the entire concept of the voting gauntlet wasn't intended to be a popularity contest, but that's just me.
  2. This. If IS wants the gauntlet to be about determining which of its 8 contestants is the most popular, then the multiplier mechanic is an awful idea because it makes it possible for a less popular character to beat a more popular character. That defeats the entire point of a popularity contest when we have a less popular character win entirely thanks to a stupid mechanic when that character would have gotten crushed by the more popular character without the multiplier. The much better fix would be to, yes, pair characters of equal popularity with each other instead of having one character who is overwhelmingly more popular than the other seven. I just really don't like the fact that this mechanic has the potential to screw over characters who are actually more popular than their opponents in a POPULARITY contest.
  3. Even though I begrudgingly use him as a buff bot for my Nino, I'm right there with you in despising Ephraim. To me, he just comes as a try-hard badass who simultaneously has a horribly bland and uninteresting personality. I dislike his sister for also being ungodly boring among other reasons. Why weren't Innes and Tana the main characters of Sacred Stones instead?
  4. There's also the fact that Camilla's mother never truly loved her and saw her as nothing more than a pawn that could be used to gain her favor in the Nohrian court. Camilla says as much in her support with Niles. She chose dote on Corrin because she didn't want them to be without someone who would show them true signs of affection and love like what happened in her childhood. So really, her mind completely snaps when her target of affection (Corrin) chooses to betray her and all of Nohr when Camilla had been nothing but loving and caring to Corrin. That's all I'll say on it though.
  5. With Camilla, it can implied that she already wasn't the most mentally stable person due to all the violence that went on in the Nohrian court when she was still growing up which she herself took part it IIRC. So when her beloved sibling Corrin betrays Nohr in Birthright, any semblance of sanity she had was shattered right then and there. That's just my take on her though.
  6. He got the multiplier in the second to last hour of the round. However, it didn't matter because by that point in the round, Leo was unable to overtake Robin even when he did get the multiplier. It's like I just mentioned earlier, Robin was never in any danger of losing because he had enough people backing him to make the multiplier ultimately not matter in the end.
  7. Yeah, I suppose in a match like Subaki vs. Beruka in the last gauntlet if the multiplier activates in the final hour, the team winning at that point could end getting screwed out of a win due to not having enough people on their team to compensate for the multiplier unlike juggernauts like Camilla and Tharja. It would be really dumb if a team down the line lost entirely thanks to the multiplier and it's all the more reason it should get axed sooner rather than later.
  8. I may have said something like this earlier in this topic, but all the multiplier is really doing is giving the underdogs false hope that they can win when the reality is the favorite is still never in any danger of losing, it's just that the scores no longer reflect it. I also hope they trash this mechanic for the June gauntlet because if I'm part of an underdog team, I would rather figure out early on in the match that my team has no chance of victory instead of being strung along by false hope only to be disappointed in the end. That's just me personally.
  9. You (or anyone else here on Team Tharja) can add me too if you want. I have my Fury/Desperation Nino as my lead at the moment. I also have Triangle Adept Soren (I'm not quite finished grinding SP for him so he only has TA2 as well as G Tomebreaker 2) and Death Blow Camilla as other options for green units if you would prefer them. My in-game name is the same as my username here and my code is in my signature as it usually is.
  10. So revenge isn't a good enough motivation for you? I'm fighting on Team Tharja for that very reason even though I'm upset Leo lost again. If Leo can't win, I'm going to do everything I can to make sure his vanquisher can't either.
  11. My score gave me rank 182 in Team Leo and considering that I don't have Leo as I said earlier, I would say I did pretty well for myself without those bonus points. Now it's time for my newly acquired 5* Tharja to put in some serious work. Leo, you will be avenged!
  12. Welp, I can at least say I put in my part for Leo as I will enter the finals with just the daily flags left (20). 704,700 will be my final score for this round (keep in mind I don't have Leo myself) which may or may not be good enough for the top 100. My fellow Leo teammates, it was a privilege working with you all. So it's on to Team Tharja for me then. Anyone on or who will be on Team Tharja, feel free to add me if you want. My code is in my signature (or right here if you hide sigs: 0085075948) and I would be more than happy to lend you my Nino or Soren to help combat the Robin menace.
  13. Robin: 7,074,215,911; Stronger Leo: 6,350,531,954; Weaker Go nuts, my comrades, the multiplier is active one last time. If we're going down, let's go down swinging!
  14. Well, considering that insult to Team Tharja was completely uncalled for and that your tactician will be responsible for Leo's defeat, you can sure as hell not expect my support in the finals not that I ever considered joining Robin anyways. I'd much rather be one of those "monkeys" and help tip the scales way the other way.
  15. Again, I know Leo has no shot of actually winning considering he's been incapable of getting ahead even with the multiplier. I'm just hoping the multiplier comes back one last time so that I can pad my score some more.
  16. Robin: 6,977,726,238; Same Leo: 6,308,364,833; Same I'm pretty sure Leo will get the multiplier for one last time next hour (he's really close to getting at least, assuming my math is right) but other than that, yeah Robin is gonna win like I expected him to.
  17. Well I can say I've already been seeing plenty of emblem teams of all three types up to this point so I at least know what to expect if their quantity increases even further. With the new system, I do like those orbs and feathers even if we struggle though I'd rather avoid being demoted if I can help it. I suppose it'll all depend on how much more difficult things get or not though.
  18. Yeah, I can see that being the case. One of the players that lost to my team had 2* Anna set as their lead if that means anything. I know that doesn't necessarily mean that Anna was on their offense team that lost, but it might suggest that they're a relatively new player who for some reason got matched up with my relatively decked out team but that's just a thought.
  19. While I'm not on Team Tharja yet, I can say I'm not among those here who hates her and have actually warmed up to her over time. Really, this gauntlet had no characters that I outright dislike which is good I guess. I'm still not looking forward to seeing Lyn and/or Takumi in a gauntlet but that's my own problem.
  20. I not only managed to get 5100 feathers (2500 for offense, 900 for defense and 1700 for tier rank) and 3 orbs out of this season but I get to advance from Tier 14 to Tier 17. I can only hope this jump in tiers won't also lead to a huge difficulty spike in terms of the teams I'm pitted against. My defense team of Ninian, Nino, Klein and (Distant Counter-less) Zephiel somehow finished with 6 wins, most of which came in the latter half of the season. I honestly wasn't expecting that team to get more than like 2 wins though Klein having Wings of Mercy might've been what tripped people up but who knows.
  21. Yeah, we did lose it again. It's beyond me why they just don't have it run indefinitely instead of there being a periods of a couple days where it's inactive. Also on an unrelated note, your curse has yet to find its way to my 5*s aside from maybe the Klein that I merged into my current one. None of them are even -SPD for that matter. You might be glad to know that it has afflicted the only Lilina and Marth that I've gotten to this point though (both 4*).
  22. Celica and her posse, Xander and Alfonse (if they keep Askr trio rotation going) should be at the very least. As for which characters will fill the remaining spots, yeah that's yet to be determined.
  23. It's kinda weird. I got your Leo quite a bit back in Round 1 when you had him set as your lead but this round I've pretty much only been getting two different Hectors from my pool of friends plus a Chrom occasionally. I also haven't gotten @Locke087's Cecilia at all when I did get his Kagero a time or two back in Round 1. Alright, cool.
  24. Eh, it's cool. If you want to support Robin because you don't care for Tharja and that it would give you more feathers, that's your choice and I completely respect it. Sorry if I got unnecessarily ornery there by the way.
  25. Well, I was to take advantage of last hour's multiplier and I'm now ranked in the top 1K of Team Leo (#589 to be exact). Also, I can see you and your Oboro who I have yet to get in any of my battles at #554 @Anime27Arts. Implying that all of us who are or will be on Team Tharja give a crap about getting the most feathers, huh? I'd much rather side with the character I actually want to support instead of the one that would give me more feathers but is a character that I don't care about. Besides, I have no one on my roster currently that I'm dying to promote to a 5* anyways.
