In this age where romancing options are usually demanded to have options for both, i didn't think what it meant having canonically straight characters and canonically gay characters, as opposed to just making everyone "bi". Cause the latter is what people prefer and you're still fine with that but if say, Fire Emblem went back to pre-established gay and straight characters, you would prefer that? Yeah at least in SMT, there's a narrative justification. Doesn't change it from being dumb but at least they justify it.
