Eeerrrghh...  I don't wanna say Three Houses is the worst Fire Emblem game I've ever played, but it's close.  The Monastery crap is so tedious to get through, especially on repeat playthroughs.  And the balancing and various other design decisions make me ill.  If you have to resort to gender-locking to prevent access to certain OP class and unit combinations, then you're doing something deeply wrong with those.

    Three Houses is probably the most experimental game in the series since Thracia 776, and I can respect it for that.  But I hope it stays an experiment.  I'd prefer the next non-remake game to stick to a more traditional progression system if possible.  And this isn't even getting into Three Houses more or less being designed to ride Persona 5's coattails.

    Are you playing Birthright?

    I haven't really played difficulties outside of Normal for either, so I couldn't tell you.

  3. The cynic in me says to chalk this up to a continuity error.

    However, it should be noted that the Holy Weapons of Jugdral also appear in Awakening.  Unlike in Genealogy of the Holy War, where they can only be used by people with Major Holy Blood, they can be used by anyone with sufficiently high Weapon Ranks in Awakening, albeit with drastically reduced stat boosts.  It is believed the wielder restrictions simply wore away over the millennia.

    FE has suffered from misleading marketing since Blazing Blade at the latest and I don't foresee it stopping anytime soon.  The whole Avatar thing with Three Houses isn't really anything new.

    If it's that big a deal, then don't give Nintendo/IS your money.  If not, then my advice is to simply get over it and move on.  After all, marketing lies/half-truths surrounding Byleth's character are easily the least of Three Houses's problems.

    My first recommendation would be to ask for help on FEUniverse.  They're a lot more hacking-specialized than this place.

    I think this is referring specifically to Birthright.  If I remember correctly, this doesn't happen in the other routes.

    (Sorry if this sounds rude, it's just that Fates's story on the whole is widely regarded as terrible.)

    On a serious note, no, it doesn't really matter whether you play Birthright or Conquest first as long as you play Revelation last.  But Birthright is more tailored for newer, less experienced players, while Conquest is a more traditional Fire Emblem experience geared toward veterans (notably not allowing grinding outside of DLC).

    Unfortunately, you can't recruit the Awakening trio or their children in Birthright.  Sorry.  That said, there ARE a few characters from Nohr (Felicia, Jakob, and Silas) who will join you regardless of route.

    The "Support Contributor" credit is just for people who helped me write Supports.  Specifically, you and Emperor_Siegfried helped me come up with riddles to use for Lee and Omar's Support chain.

    FuranSuwa is working on Kozaki-style halfbodies for every character.  They're intended to replace the GBAFE-style portraits currently in use once they're all finished, but until then you should be able to look at them in the Extras menu.

    Actually, I think I lied partly about the in-game portraits being mine.  Sorry about that.  Some of them are simple recolors or straight reuses of vanilla GBAFE portraits, some of them are splices I did myself, some of them are splices done by other people, some of them are recolors of free-to-use portraits made by NICKT.

    Feel free to ask me if you want to know specifically who did what.  And if you want to keep up with this game's development, the best place to follow it is my Discord server, which you can find in the OP.

    Are you using any sort of cheat codes?  If so, you may just have to start the game over again without using any.

    It is also possible that you have a bad .iso, but unfortunately I think referring people to ROM sites is against the rules here.

    in any case, you shouldn't rely too much on the overall opinion of just 45 people. that's a very small number that won't get you anywhere, especially because every person has different tastes and not everyone is open-minded, so you won't have a good ratio of what people really like/dislike on a bigger scale with just that.

    then, it also depends on your goals: if you want to make a fan-game for about a hundred people just for the sake of it, that's one thing.

    if you plan to do it for commercial purposes, that's a whole different story. in that case, you absolutely cannot rely only on fansites and the likes, and promoting the game will be your main focus once everything is done.

    what makes a visual mess in SRPG Studio is mainly the difference in color palettes between the character sprites(map/battle), wich are mainly done in pixel art(and that's more than fine), and some of the environment map tiles wich are terrible in terms of renders, because they don't seem to be made in pixel art at all. same goes for battle backgrounds.

    in the end, how you plan to develop your game is only your choice of course, but if graphics can be improved, i'd start working on map tiles first, then proceed with anything else that needs to be polished or changed.

    I'm still using the default assets for my game, at least so I can get the fully playable version out the door a little faster.  If by that point we've got enough better assets to use, I'll switch over to those.
