  1. 1) Xane - Probably the most unique character in the series, plus he has heavy plot relevance in Mystery of the Emblem. 2) Nyna - Extremely important in both Archanean games. 3) Kris - The only avatar not to be in the game yet. 4) Nils - I'd have thought he'd be in by now. He's rather important in Blazing Blade. 5) Ranulf - The first Laguz we meet, and one of Ike's BFFs. 6) Elice and Emmeryn - The elder sisters of two popular Lords. 7) Gangrel - A major player in the first half of Awakening. 8) Marcus - Appears in both Elibe games as a playable character. 9) Julian and Lena - The first of their archetypes, yet they're no where to be found. 10) Rinkah - Early game Fates unit, has surprising relevance to Corrin as she's the one who brings them back to Hoshido, alongside Kaze. ...I tried to restrain my Archanean bias.
  2. Honestly, I'm not too worried. I think that since it's their first time on home console since Radiant Dawn, they want to make it be the best they can - and if they think reworking it is going to help them, then by all means. ...Just...please sort out the laggy cutscenes. They really should have brought back studio anima.
  3. I'd vote for Bride Caeda again - she's avoided me on all banners she's been on, and my Groom Marth is really lonely atm.
  4. It's a huge step up from Smash 4. The gameplay is tight and fast, it's not Melee fast, but it's faster than Brawl and Smash 4. The roster is amazing. Every returning veteran, bring back my favourites such as Snake, Pokemon Trainer, and Ice Climbers, some decent newcomers - honestly the Echo fighters are the stand outs to me in this regard - plus six DLC characters on the way (Joker hype!). The music is phenomenal, with many franchises getting a lot of love, such as Castlevania and FE. The new stages are good, the BotW tower, New Donk City and Dracula's Castle are fantastic, and some of my favourite stages to play on. Fountain of Dreams looks as beautiful as I imagined it to be in HD. Saffron City can go burn in a fire though. World of Light is really good. I expected it to be rather boring, but if you have an overactive imagination like me, you can create all sorts of scenarios. I haven't beaten it yet (trying to solo it with Marth), but I'm enjoying it. The Spirits remind me of the units from FEH, it's fun to send them to the gym and train them up. I actually prefer them over trophies, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss displaying my trophies in the exhibit. Classic Mode is exactly what I wanted it to be. It's very similar to Brawl's, but so much better. I love how there's different final bosses, rather than just Master Hand and/or Crazy Hand. The shooting credits game is alright, but gets tedious after a while, so I'm glad you can skip through it. Online is...really not that bad. I've had a few poor match ups, but I mostly get put in 1 v 1s, which is what I wanted. I also have very minimal lag, and I don't use an Ethernet cable either, so...well. Honestly, Ultimate is exactly what I wanted it to be, I don't even care about the lack of Home Run Contest, or stuff like that. Would I like to see them back? Of course! But honestly? I barely notice that they're gone. Ultimate is truly the ultimate Smash game, and I wouldn't change it at all. I can't wait to see the rest of the DLC characters - fingers crossed for Sora, Bandana Dee, Phoenix Wright or Touma Akagi, hahah!
  5. Is he? I missed that, hahah! Thanks for letting me know :) Looks like I'll just be waiting for Ranulf and Rhys.
  6. *muffled screaming* Tibarn, Reyson and Leanne are absolutely the priorities here. Not too keen on Nailah's art, but what can you do? All I need now are Naesala, Ranulf and Rhys, and I'll be satisfied with the Tellius representation forever.
  7. Yessss, Daisuke Izuka is fantastic! His L!Marth is my favourite, it's the earrings, hahah!
  8. Team Camilla now~ If she loses, I'll jump to male Corrin because his NY alt is a cutie.
  9. Well, he's up against NY!Corrin, right? I'll use my +6 Marth, my pride and joy. He's my lead atm, so check him out :)
  10. I was going to go Team Camilla, but I thought I'd mix it up a bit because I always seem to be on her team, hahah. Team Hrid, let's go!
  11. To stop going through the motions of living, and actually start enjoying life. Basically, get a social life, hahah.
  12. Awakening: Honestly, I have a soft spot for all of them, so it's hard to choose. Inigo is my favourite, though. He's a real sweetie who hides his real feelings, and seeing him go from Awakening -> Fates...that is character development. Fates: Midori! She's a cutie, and I really like how she interacts with Asugi and Kaze. Shame she didn't get a support with Saizo.
  13. Legendary Marth was the best thing to happen to Heroes, hahah! Also, Micaiah and Leif made it in, meaning all the Lords are present and accounted for.
  14. So I got Ultimate for Christmas, and I have to say...it feels a lot better than Smash 4. I've just been playing through all the Classic Modes to unlock the characters (about 5 left I think), and the gameplay is just so smooth. Marth is fantastic, and Young Link, holy crap. I can't wait to start the adventure mode. My only complaint so far is that there seems to be no way to watch the newcomer trailers. They aren't in 'Movies', is this not a thing anymore?
  15. I've got to go with Chrom, because he comes with Robin as an added bonus - they're a package deal, hahah!
  16. I got my Switch this year, so a lot of these games are from last year, hahah! Also, I'm loyal to Nintendo, so no XBox or Playstation ga,es from me, I'm afraid. Best: - Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: The first Zelda game I ever played all the way through. I wasn't expecting it to be so good. The graphics and artstyle are gorgeous, I love how expansive the world is, and Link has a fantastic design in this game. - Pokemon Let's Go Eevee: I was on the fence on this until like...the last trailer which showed Red, Blue and Green. I love it. The graphics are beautiful, the new capture mechanic is a breath of fresh air, and the lack of random encounters is a godsend. Shiny hunting in this game is really fun, and I can't wait for a potential Johto remake in the same style. - Fire Emblem Warriors: It's a Warriors game, with FE. The story is crap, the graphics are nothing to write home about, but the music, the gameplay...also rekindled my love for characters like Niles, Leo and Lissa. I can't judge Smash Ultimate yet because I have to wait until Christmas, same for The World Ends With You Final Remix. Worst: Neither of these games are bad, I just didn't enjoy them as much as I thought I would. - Super Mario Odyssey: It's a good game, it's beautiful, the soundtrack is great, it's just...the moons. There's too many, and I hate collecting things, so I never advanced much into the postgame. Doesn't help that I'm not a big Mario fan to begin with. - Splatoon 2: To me, it pales in comparison to the original. I miss having the gamepad, it just made looking at the map and jumping to other locations much easier. Also, I dislike the new campaign, and the new weapons don't interest me. It's good for an hour or so, but...the Wii U version wins out. Anticipated: - Fire Emblem Three Houses: It looks good, it's Fire Emblem, of course I'm excited. - Animal Crossing Switch: I need something to be responsible for, hahah. - Pokemon Gen 8: Please be based on the UK, please be based on the UK. - Final Fantasy VII: I've been dying to play this. - A potential Switch port of Persona 5: I've watched clips of it, I know the story. Joker is in Smash, please port it. I don't want to buy a PS4 just for one game.
  17. Oh boy, another thread that gets derailed! Marth - Best lord, my son, love of my life, will protect Shadow Dragon does wonders for him, good god! He starts off as this naive teenager, and then gets everything he loves ripped away from him in one day, but then he grows and matures, realises that life isn't black and white, and ahhhh, he's just really good? Like, I don't want to repeat myself because I've responded to so many of these threads, hahah! 10/10 Alm - I wouldn't like him as much as I do if SoV didn't have full voice acting. He's alright, he's just a bit too perfect. But he definitely isn't bad by any means. 7/10 Celica - Oh Celica, they did you dirty. I like her a lot, and her Echoes design is gorgeous. 7/10 Sigurd, Seliph and Leif - Haven't played their games, so I can't judge. Roy - He's a brains over brawn Lord, and I love that it shows in his gameplay. It's a shame that much of his characterisation is locked behind supports, but what we do get is enough for me imagine what he could be like with all that lost potential. If Binding Blade gets a remake, I pray to god that they develop him more. 9/10 Eliwood - More like Eligood! He's very similar to Marth, and that's a good thing. He just wants to find his father, and gets thrown into a war against a crazy old git. I really like that he isn't afraid to show his emotions, which is something that differentiates him from Marth (Marth hides his because he thinks that he can't afford to look weak, as seen when he reclaims Altea), and it gives him that sense of humanity, idk? I just really like him, and his relationship with Ninian. 9/10 Hector - Too boisterous for my tastes, but does have some really nice moments. I think the thing that makes him stand out to me is his friendship with Eliwood, he just cares so much for him, it's very refreshing. 6/10 Lyn - Eh...she's just there to introduce the player to the game. I like the concept of a girl from the plains, but they didn't really expand on it. 4/10 Eirika - She's very kind, but...that's where it ends. 5/10 Ephraim - He is wayyyy too arrogant, and I don't like that. At the same time, he has my favourite design of all the Lords...actually no, second favourite. 5/10 Ike - ...Let's not cause any arguments, shall we? 2/10 Micaiah - Best female lord! I love her, she has a gorgeous design, she has a great concept, she has her flaws, she's just really great, okay? Radiant Dawn did her dirty, though...8/10 Kris - Why are we counting him? 4/10 Saved only by the fact that his customisation options are fantastic. Chrom - I will always have a soft spot for Chrom. Awakening was my first FE game, his voice is just oh, his design is...weird, but it works for him? 8/10 Robin - Best design out of all of them! It's the coat. He's my favourite avatar, and he doesn't even seem like an avatar? He has his own character, and his fate is just really damn tragic. 8/10 Lucina - So much lost potential. I wish she had more presence in the main story, but, ah, well. I do like her though. 7/10 Corrin - I prefer male Corrin over female Corrin, just saying. Doesn't matter, they're both crap. 3/10
  18. I highly recommend Daniel Howell and AmazingPhil. They also have a joint gaming channel called DanAndPhilGames. They're great, I've been watching them for years. RabbidLuigi is also fantastic. He does top 10s and top 5s for video games, as well as LPs. His sense of humour is mostly based on snark, and it's not for everyone, but maybe give him a watch? Scott the Woz is also really good - he recently took over the JonTron subreddit, hahah. He produces videos discussing certain things about Nintendo games or just gaming in general. He also has a strange obsession with Madden 08, but don't let that turn you away.
  19. I'll place my bets on Fae and...um...Serra? Idk, I can't make heads or tails of this.
  20. Right okay, that was the best FEH Channel we've had in ages. The trailer was gorgeously animated, and that music! Was not expecting that. My boy Alfonse is going to be absolutely devastated, and his face punched me in the gut. Eir is absolutely gorgeous. Honestly, the designs for Book III are so much better than Book II's, it's not even funny. I have high hopes for Book III. Summoning Tickets are a nice way to save orbs, I hated having to use 5 orbs to start a session, so this is a blessing. I've missed Hero Fest so much, I'm usually lucky on them, so I'll be summoning on red and blue stones. The new seasons don't bother me at all, and Mythic Heroes makes me roll my eyes, but it's too early to judge yet. And then...flipping Tibarn! One of my few Tellius favourites! Hopefully Reyson, Leanne and Ranulf will be joining him too.
  21. Haven't played the Jugdral games, but from Heroes at least, Finn is looking like a strong contender. I'll also do male / female. For Awakening, I'm not including Robin. Shadow Dragon - Marth / Caeda Mystery of the Emblem - Xane / Tiki Shadows of Valentia - Tobin / Silque Binding Blade - Roy / Lilina Blazing Blade - Eliwood / Ninian Path of Radiance - Reyson / Leanne Radiant Dawn - Ranulf / Micaiah Awakening - Chrom / Olivia Birthright - Kaze / Rinkah Conquest - Leo / Camilla Tokyo Mirage Sessions - Touma / Eleonora
  22. I'm in a similar boat. I was expecting Bandana Dee, but after what Reggie said, I don't anymore...
  23. I can honestly say I was not expecting an Atlus character. I've never played a Persona game in my life, but I've heard so many good things about Persona 5, that I recognised him. Such a good choice, and it gives me hope that the rest of the DLC pack will be good.
  24. Thank you! :) That's way too long for me - it starts at 1:30 in the morning for me, hahah! I'll give it a miss this year, hopefully something good will be revealed though.
  25. How long do the Game Awards normally last? I'm debating about watching it live, or just wait until the morning.
