  1. L2 does have quite a few endings/routes yes L1 remake does ss well, but i heard they suck ....but i was never able to get into Langrisser gameplay, L4 aside, due to the whole squad shtick ending up being a chore imo Funny enough, i enjoyed the mobile gameplay the most...if only it wasn't a gacha... I do agree But i do think it has one of the best antagonist groups in the genre that works really with the story, present the whole game and work as a good foil to protag gang. If only those who twerk in the place where the sun doesn't shine were that cool They are a light cult instead xD I think the reason i don't perceive them as such is that the senate was basically an enemy in the 2 games more out of political reasons than anything (and them being asshole politicians), before they got cult'fied in RD RD would be cooler tho without Part 4 - especially gameplay wise that route spam is one of the worst stretches in FE history. And the story suffers in general starting blood pact Funny enough, the one hurt the most writing wise by the blood pact is, imo, Micaiah. Felt like it neutered her potential she showed in Part 1 But first i will do Roy & Leafy boi paralogues. Now that i have Hurricane Axe, Roy Paralogue should be doable, and i hope for Leafy boi Warpragna can take out one of the ballista while a warping dance gang takes care of two - still need to calculate it or it will end in a massacre They are thankfully not that strongly present there - even if they do get the final map, which is annoying Well Might be a bit of a reach but: * In FE6, Zephiel's tantrum against humanity is not that much different from a cult's * Sacred Stones kinda has it as Acacia mentioned * Tellius has the Senate going full republican * Anankos is a cult himself with the whole curse bs xD Yeah Like Couldn't she hear Leafy boy's inner voice or something? And that he needed help? It kinda felt like she had some sorta spiritual connection with him? She had a high position in the cult tho, wasn't she called "Lady Sara" by a cult guy in the forest that you will need the rest of your gaming life to exit because it's super simple? I don't remember any amnesia tho in either of the routes, and in both she hates Manfroy with a passion. Honestly, i do think she's one of the few must haves in a FE4 remake, along Saias, Salem and (maybe) Olwen. I don't think she lacks it. Maybe not full, but wasn't it one of the reasons she could use the Kia staff - atlesst implied? Can't say i disagree, but Atleast it has a name, unlike Fateslandia xD And yes, gimme Mecha Dragon.
  2. Anime rule 46: less clothes = more power F And IS still sticks with damn cult for some reaaon Like IS experiments alot, except with the damn setting... Fair Now give me Azure Magical Girl Joule, with time travelling GV as her side kick
  3. >Game: Kirin XX now available Me: what's dat? Astra O: Hella fun to play with, but broken - why it's a post game bonus XD Boss rush cleared on first try. OP, but fun xD ???? Is that what happened after the ending? THE COPE IS HERE and Salem + Sara, but dats FE5. Yeah it's why imo FE4 ends up falling on it's face. It just ended up proving that Loptyr deserved everything that happened to them, and worse. Adding such a faction in a game with a political conflict in the first half is super Yikes Tbh, would've been better if Arvis was able to outmaneuver them, but his sins catching up to him eventually - and his empire breaks down, but not by cult-kun +1 We know from the beginning what we are dealing with, so no betrayal of expectations they still needed to be better written tho but yeah i can get behind the general idea One thing FE also fails at when it comes to cults is the lack of mystery - There're many stories with cults out there, but they tend to be combined with a sense of mystery, interesting lore and a strange setting of fantasy. FE fails at that big time. The only time they may have come close is those who dance in the moonlight, but they were stupid lmao. FE needs to do fantasy better in general, because FE sucks at fantasy - maybe then fantasy elements won't feel like it's something that betrays the political conflict I thought the Epilogue would show me a bit of GV, maybe where he traveled into the past, was another dimension created, or is a paradox happening, or or or lol It felt like a cheap bait tbh, collecting these thingies only for nothing to happen kek
  4. Hey! That doesn't sound gentlemanly Never Never trust Sumeragi they could be Garon in hiding Ouch Ofc i need Anthem right at the end of the fight <.< Pharaoh Muse also going through it? Your fate is sealed vs. Oversurge, Azure Striker vs. Illuminate the world! Gold Trillion Who wins? Um, what's she planning Unlimited Blade Works? So Atem can save Layla no problem, but GV has to suffer with Lumen/Joule? The writers really do hate GV lol Cool boss fight tho But what was this all about? We collected some blue thingies, fought a boss, and then?
  5. Instead of having the magic mcguffins be the end, have it be a means to an end. Have the antagonist have an interesting/good ideal to work towards, have him be competent and not easily fooled, or want to destroy humanity like an idiot. Edelgard and Rhea would've worked, if it wasn't for those who dubstep in the shadows washing away everyone's sins. Or maybe make Arvis not an absolute tool, etc. The franchise has potential that does not get explored because cult-kun/dragon always gets in the way, and it limits the writing potential to a B-tier at the very best (usually much lower) The magical way out is the coward's way out. Throwing and betraying your own themes away sucks, not matter how good the presentation is. Wanting to present multiple PoV but then have all the sins have an origin is facepalm worthy. And honestly, that's why i am not iffy on Engage's writing as everyone seems to be - it does not betrays it's centeral theme...even if it lacks an ideological conflict in a way. Some examples i can think of in my head, that maybe not the best, but could hint towards what i want: Tales of Berseria: Despite the existence of Innominat, the centeral conflict of the game is one of ideals, and what the extremes lead to, and the potential and compromise. Also works well with the game's revenge story. One could argue the Antagonist wanting to take away free will is a bit in the "supernatural bs" zone, but it does work really really well with themes and conflict in the game, and at the end the supernatural is a means to an end. Trails in the Sky FC only: FC is mainly a coup plot, and the ideological conflict behind it, and nationalism, rapid industrialization, propaganda, etc. And even in SC, where the "cult" takes a more active role...they are being used by someone else. And then later games went full supernatural, so let's stop here Xenoblade 2: Despite all the op stuff going on, the game is about the battle between the player party and antagonist party, and their ideological conflict defines the whole game. The villains motivations are understandable considering the world they live in (even if it needed more fleshing out), and the "supernatual being" at the end is just a "Cool bro thx" dialogue and the final battle with the antagonist we've been fighting the whole game. No hijacking bs despite the existence of many things that could hijack the story Just a few examples from the top of my head that could maybe explain what i want/meant If you ask me, the games that came closest to what i'd want from Fire Emblem writing wise is the Tellius Saga - I just wish the game didn't take the cowards way out with the Blood pact and supernatural bs at the end.
  6. And Mauv joines the ranks of the Zombies, getting Echo'd to death. Solm hasn't been kind to me ;_; 15 Bld o.o Berserker sucks, however, Hero or something might work hmmm I wouldn't exactly count Sephiran myself, and imo, Tellius is the one that escapes the "Dark cult" bs the most.... But then we have the blood pact, and a supernatural bs hijacking a "human" conflict, again Those who make no sense considering they have literal missiles focus on the human/political/ideological conflict without cult-kun/dragon ruining the story? I already said before, but when i played FE4 ~7 years back, i did enjoy Gen 1 writing...but Gen2 had me -unironically- going "This is Fates 1995 Edition" (or w/e)...before i discovered the rest of the series is kinda the same lol.
  7. Fair Bottom line: Both suck and need to be gone from the series Also i wouldn't call Rhea an evil dragon she did nothing wrong tbh at most RAM and hard drive, but that's it
  8. O.o The Hero Lance crit animation in Engage is sick
  9. Evil dragon nothing more traditional than that
  10. tbf While BWS and VS2 are more unhinged They don't radiate the same Chaos energy thracia does
  11. It's the most popular of the 3, the longest running one and pretty much THE FE4 manga Leans heavy into Seliph/Julia as well
  12. even early on it doesn't matter that much due to Vulns healing all HP Also missing staves can be used to farm exp I do agree that it shouldn't be a thing, but it's not really a big issue and part of Thracia's chaotic charm
  13. Yeah the RR has quite a few skills that are not in the base game For example - many bosses early on have resist Status - because you get Corrin early, so it makes it a bit harder to Draco hex them (they only get -2 instead of -4, and -2 MoV instead of Freeze) And Lucina replaces Roy - Marni will be a joy to face 🙂 Honestly, until now i'd say the RR is easier than base game - but now i am starting to feel the heat from the Emblem switch - and the fact that i can't reclass Veyle before lvl21 (she's 19 atm) due to her being in a special class and i really really really need to get her in a class with better speed - like Griffin - until the good Dragon Emblems return. yeah she does have low Lck But she didn't die to a crit, but because i thought i could kill an archer once i revealed him...i couldn't xD And thus had to choose between sacrificing Ivy or Hortensia - decided on Ivy because Hortensia staff'ing is to valuable to lose now.
  14. And lost Louis as well fuck fuck fuck Louis is not that big of a loss, Anna will be felt, but Ivy hurts really really bad. Let's see what we have next chapter- Why so angry And iirc Ragnarok has 15 MT - that's 43 warping MAtk - NOT GOOD And Unholy Stance is even active when initiating - learned that the hard way when Ai combined it with Echo in ch10 to make me damage myself 4 times lmao Hi there
  15. I freaking hate Fog wolves Rip Ivy, and Anna will die next EP for sure ;_; And the pegasi are swarming me aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Edit: Anna got crit to death F...even though she would've died anyway
  16. >LV18 Jean >Martial Monk We were so close to greatness Also i feel he might be my first victim in the ironman, this fucking map and fog... Wait a sec >Miccy ILLUME STAFF TIME That gives him more characterization than 90% of the pre PoR characters I think you're quite underselling Ced here. Rebel group leader, problems with his father, etc. Sara and Olwen smh Dark Mage in the quiz i am pretty sure, since i got most FE5 classes right
  17. Oh same. I typed it like 10 times (at least) 3H did me in the most...and all the different lord class names lol oh boy I wanna argue some of these...but i am too busy playing 😛
  18. Definitely the biggest winner of the RR so far Rip warp staff tho 😞
  19. Fuck me And Mauv almost died thanks to enemy Byleth dance wew AAAAAAAA
