  1. FE characters use guns and other modern military equipment. Play as the villains instead.
  2. Well, of course, the enemy is morally corrupt. True, I was being sarcastic. Healers are too OP and actually make an army very effective. Though if real life doctors were so good and the only way to win a war was to kill them, I wonder if the GC would be changed. Even the signatories to GC end up doing this so I am in no way implying the FE Lords are in any way worse especially when healers are magic users and magic is an OP weapon, whether used offensively or defensively.
  3. Well, they are but it was a dumb move. Assume that all goes well for the Laguz Alliance such as Daein not intervening and Naesala not betraying them. While the Laguz Alliance could take control of large parts of Begnion, they are still going to have a hard time against the powerful central army. Also, they have no safe zones in Begnion. The people of Begnion loath the Laguz so expect some setbacks in areas that were previously secured. The more they advance, the more they stretch themselves thin. Their only hope was for Sanaki to get freed and then rebel against the Senate. Though if there are laguz invaders, most of the populace would side with the Senate. Also, they completely ignored the medallion. Apparently reviving a dark god is of no concern to them.
  4. The good guys you command in every chapter have the capability of killing defenseless healers. There are chapters where you have to completely rout the enemy which often include healers. Clearly the "good guys" are committing war crimes and not feeling any remorse. The lords are even worse because they are commanding everyone in their army to do so. Funny how Micaiah is supposedly a war criminal because she was going to burn down an intruding military force. I think the fact that she takes no issue in killing defenceless healers despite being a priestess is worse. If you want proof this is a war crime, just read this article on Wikipedia. It is a war crime to kill doctors just because they treat enemy soldiers. For further proof, this other article on combat medics states that knowingly firing on combat medics is a war crime. I thought Nintendo is supposed to be family friendly but they don't even follow the Geneva Conventions and promote crimes against humanity. Let's ban Fire Emblem games! /Sarcastic Rant
  5. Eliwood and Ninian is the obvious choice IMO. As for the other two, I'm quite funny. I chose Lyn for Hector but Rath for Lyn.
  6. Based on the Heroes poll, are you satisfied with Micaiah's position? I think based on how poorly RD sold in comparison to other games along with the fact she was only in one game, it is pretty high. Especially when you consider how poorly Eliwood did despite being in FE7 which sold twice the amount this game did. Of course, you can argue that Eliwood got overshadowed by the other two lords but you can argue the same with Ike overshadowing Micaiah. Another thing to note is that female characters did better than male characters so maybe she was too low based on her gender.

I feel satisfied. I would like to have better results, but it's a good benchmark.

  7. I've never liked fighting monsters. I found the battles in SS boring when up against monsters as opposed to an army.
  8. Don't know anything about the last two characters but you have a similar taste in characters as me.
  9. Which Micaiah outfit do you like the most? I personally prefer her light sage outfit.

Hmm... I like all of them! Personally my favorite is the Light Mage Outfit... but Light Sage is very close.

  10. Would you scrap the first half of part 3? I personally would keep it because I like the dynamics going on between Skrimir and the others (Ike, Soren and Ranulf). The war campaign is interesting with the strategies employed and the looming threat of Zelgius. Though I can agree that in the second half of part two, playing as the DB is better. The problem is that if BP was always there, why did Begnion force Daein to intervene after a while had passed? Why not at the earliest opportunity?
  11. I didn't know their reasoning so thanks for telling it. I think these reasons are just excuses. First, they said we're going to focus on Fates, Awakening and Shadow Dragon due to too many swords. Guess what, there were too many sword characters yet they still added two more swords from outside the focus so that couldn't have been the legit reason. Now they say too many Fates characters even though they wanted to focus on Fates in the first place and haven't even included the 2nd most important Fates character.
  12. I have a feeling she wasn't included due to being different making her harder to develop compared to a clone.
  13. The only time you can deploy all the Crimean leaders is chapter 4-5 and end game. But if you end up deploying all the Crimean leaders, to benefit from their authority, you only get a few more Crimean units to deploy in end game. Considering how Crimean units generally get neglected and that there aren't that many of them, it may still not be the best strategy to deploy just the CKs. I don't think Renning should have four stars. The guy had lost his mind for three years and most thought he was dead. He should have lost most of his authority and should be inferior to Elincia in that regard. Also, one's own authority stars shouldn't benefit themselves, to make it less attractive to deploy the influential, so Renning won't have as much avoid/hit other than Elincia's bonus. Aren't Kyza and the other beast Laguz pretty bad with the exception of Caineghis, Gifca Ranulf and Skrimir? These stars would only help the likes of Kyza, Lethe, Ranulf, Lyre and Mordecai in end game because Caineghis shows up only in end game. I don't think deploying a team of beast laguz for end game is very smart due to lacking 2 range, energy bar and unable to get much exp so all these authority stars give you some more incentive to do so but then you aren't going to be able to use all your legendary items. There is a tradeoff when it comes to using these units. Though for balancing sake, maybe make the range of authority stars limited or nerf each star's worth if my idea ends up being unbalanced which I don't think it is. I agree that enemy stats should be improved in part 4 and end game. Also get rid of mastery skills, they are too OP.
  14. I like Radiant Dawn the most. Granted I've only played through FE7, FE8 and half of PoR. Though I have watched Lets Plays of all of PoR, FE6 and SoV. With Radiant Dawn, you get to see how the world is just three years after PoR. Unlike other FE games, you see the politics of many different countries and how they inevitably link to each other. Some of the best levels are present in RD thanks to the ledge mechanic making for some interesting design. I like how BEXP can give you exactly 3 stat ups which makes you think how to prioritize the BEXP. I was glad they removed reaver weapons which contradict the weapon triangle and made it so that each weapon type has exactly one effective weapon to make each weapon type more unique. The ability to enhance your characters with different skills was nice as was the ability to experiment with different skill combinations without losing them.
  15. Hello, I had the same idea as you but ended up fleshing it out a bit more. What do you think of the thread?

This is your post from the past.

After seeing RD let's play from Mangs who was joined by Ray, they criticized the game and said PoR was apparently a gem and one of the best games so I came up with unrealistically high expectations. Though it is a step backwards in almost every single way. Still a good game no doubt.

I don't agree. I think RD has a complex concept, cheeky and interesting: the idea of seeing a war among different perspectives in an uncommon way. It has its flaws: most people stomp it because of the Blood Pact, the dumb decisions of both Micaiah and Pelleas, Ike being the embodiment of perfection and heroism, and Yune stealing Micaiah's spotlight on Part 4. I disagree with a lot of common opinions with people and see it in another light.

On the other hand, PoR is terribly standard and simple. Yet it's simplicity is awesome because they deliver the game with a pretty good pace, character development, interactions, and its cohesion. It shows how Ike grows from being Dad's son to being a man responsible of a lot of lives and determined to free Crimea and Elincia from Daein's rule. What people find awesome in PoR is not exactly what it is but rather how it was done, imo (at least from my point of view).

All in all, I generally prefer RD because it is more complex (not so straigt forward), its phylosophical meaning and the message it delivers of how the world is and how Order and Chaos are the sides of the same coin that bring balance and harmony to it.

I have issues with Part 4 of RD the most. Endgame was cool but the overall experience of part 4 was pretty bad and while part 3 also has problems, I feel as if the good of part 3 outweighs the bad whereas the only things interesting in part 4 were Deghinsea and Sephiran.

As for the main characters, I think Ike is supposed to represent chaos while Micaiah represents order. This way, their actions make perfect sense for the most part although Ike ended up being balanced whereas Micaiah ended up being just there.

  16. How many? I'd say 1 in part one and 2 in part three.
  17. If you have no experience with RD, then I guess you should start with easy.
  18. I read one of your posts in the past where you linked the developer notes. Thanks again for the reminder. I feel the game should have shown the leadership transition more smoothly. First Nolan is the leader, then Micaiah promotes once she teams up with Pelleas but is still beneath Tauroneo. Once Daein is free, she is now second only to Pelleas. Then at the end of the game, she becomes queen. This way my boys Nolan and Tauroneo get more screentime and there will be less marry sue complaints.
  19. Well technically yes but on the game screen, it says the commander is Micaiah. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure I'm not. I think it is just a developer oversight. According to the story, Nolan was still the leader.
  20. From the script, it is quite clear it is Nolan giving the orders. It makes sense too because he's the oldest and wisest of the Dawn Brigade.
  21. I guess that's the missing equation. I took Lloyd and Jerme versions in Hector Normal mode but on the Spreadsheet, I summed up all four missions despite two being mutually exclusive. I'll edit the spreadsheet when I get back to FE7. Will do Hector Hard Mode next now that I've finally unlocked it. But first I need to beat Path of Radiance. I'm at chapter 15.
  22. While many characters had authority stars, the only characters who actually used them were the ones who commanded the army. Only Ike, Geoffrey, Lucia, Tibarn and Elincia benefitted from them and all their underlings automatically benefited regardless of their affiliation with the commander. The rest of the cast's authority stars didn't matter which is pretty lame. Here is a suggestion that gives authority stars more usage and makes them much more interesting. Each character who has authority stars will enhance characters who they directly influence/outrank in the story. For example, Caineghis, being the leader of the beast tribe, will benefit all the beast tribe laguz. Authority stars can also stack so Skrimir's authority stars can enhance all beast tribe laguz, barring Caineghis and Giffca, since he doesn't outrank them. Sanaki's stars can enhance Sigrun, Tanith, Naesala, Lehran and Oliver. Nailah's can enhance Volug and Rafiel. Tibarn's can enhance Janaff, Ulki and Reyson. Naesala's can enhance Leane and Nealuchi. Ike's would enhance the GMs. Kurthnaga's would enhance Ena, Nasir and Gareth. Elincia's would enhance all characters from Crimea including the CRK, Brom, Nephenee, Heather, Danved, Bastian, Calil and Renning. Geoffrey would enhance just the CRK, Calil and Danved. Lucia would probably enhance Heather, Brom and Nephenee. From parts 1 to 3, there won't be much of a change in terms of gameplay but in part 4, people will have to strategize more when deciding how to split up the army into three different groups. Afterwards, in the endgame, these stars can be something to consider when making a party for the tower. Of course, there are characters which I believe deserve leadership stars but don't have any. These include Micaiah, Tauroneo, Titania, Sigrun, Lehran and Giffca. Micaiah would enhance all Daein units barring Pelleas because he's above her in rank. Tauroneo enhances all Daein units barring the aforementioned. Titania enhances all GMs barring Ike because she's their deputy commander. Sigrun enhances Tanith, maybe pointless due to lack of Begnion units. Lehran enhances all Begnion units barring Sanaki. Haar, being the independent person he is, and the fact that he's broken, gets no benefit from authority stars along with a few other OP characters such as the laguz royales and Ike. This would help in balancing the cast. What do you think of this idea? Should it be implemented in a remastered Radiant Dawn remake or a fanmade mod? If not, would a similar idea work in a new Fire Emblem game?
  23. In my Radiant Dawn playthrough, my Edward was ridiculously blessed to the extent he leveled strength almost every single time in his first tier class and ended up reaching Zihark's level by the time Zihark joins. Also I decided to not use GM much in part 3 so that I can eradicate them with the DB in 3-13. Despite having such a good Edward and giving him favoritism Mia ended up just as good as him by the end game. Considering how in general Mia is far ahead of him and Edward doesn't really surpass her by much, I'd say Mia is far superior to Edward. Edward is still my favorite myrmidon that starts off at a low level though. He's doing much better than PoR Mia though which is a better comparison because Mia isn't a swordmaster yet. Nolan's speed is better than Boyd's strength because speed is more important in this game than strength. In FE7, it would be the other way around. Laura is more useful than Rhys due to her healing being uncontested in part one unlike in part three where Rhys and Mist can both heal. Also, the DB need healing more than the GM. Their combat is pretty bad because of light tomes having bad damage and due to their speed. Laura has a high-speed growth but she'll lower up too slowly to take advantage of it.
  24. Wouldn't two unique swords be better than some legendaries that were used by others in FE6? IS could have written a back story about the two blades to hype them up. The tutorial was a great place to show such a back story for Mani Katti and could even hint at the existence of Sol Katti.
  25. Or they could have made the weight of the Sol Katti similar to Mani Katti since they are supposed to be twin swords.
