  1. Thanks for explaining that. Too bad about the low Spring Camilla percentage. Overall I think this banner was pretty good, perhaps better than Hero Fest because of the sheer amount of units that would appeal to many people. Who else wants to start an Ayra Appreciation Thread? (stealing the idea from the Gamefaqs FEH board) She's the most fun character to use that I've summoned in a while.
  2. That's what I thought. If each 5-star was 8% we'd be cleaning up lol. So since each focus unit has 3%, we have roughly the same odds of summoning a 5-star as a normal banner but without pity-breakers? So the old Hero Fest banner formula may actually have been the better one. Hard to believe I spent that many orbs, got only 9 5's, and had GOOD luck.
  3. Is Fir good? I never use her because she's a pain to level and Deke is a much better character overall imo. I love how a ton of characters in Binding Blade start at level 1 with terrible base stats. It's like they never playtested the game. Btw Critger is the man.
  4. 1. I'm wondering if the "8%" summoning rate isn't entirely accurate. The calculation of that 8% would explain why some people have not had much success. Is does the 8% apply to EACH unit in their pool, or is the 8% rate spread between the three units (ex. for reds, having a roughly 3% chance for each unit). 2. Overall, I think people may have had unrealistic expectations. Generally speaking, 8% equates to 1-in-12 chances to pull a unit each summon. So, a person with average luck would need to spend between 50-60 orbs to get one unit. The biggest positive for this banner is that there are no pity-rate units like Peri, Raven, Mist, etc. Iv'e spent about 400 orbs, and have got 3 Dierdres (the Dragons greatly appreciate the QR3), 3 Hectors, 2 Ayras, and 1 Ike. So with about 90 pulls I got 9 units, which is pretty much average luck. It's just that, for most seasonal banners, the average summoner has an ABYSSMAL chance of pulling the focus unit they want without spending at least 100 orbs.
  5. One of the many reasons that made BotW great is its non-linearity. The player could go in any direction they wanted, and could in theory bypass the entire 'story' of the game by skipping the Sacred Beasts and flashbacks and going straight to Hyrule Castle. The emphasis is on gameplay; I could go to any shrine I could see, cook up new foods, capture horses, upgrade armor, etc. I didn't set foot in the first dungeon until I had been to roughly 40 shrines already. This would be a welcome mechanic in the next FE, as the strength of the games has always been its gameplay. Have a lot of side-quests, paralogues, challenge dungeons, invasions, etc. As far as character designs go, I'm a little worried because they seem to have gotten progressively worse over the last few games. I'm not a fan of their latest batch of characters in FEW and Heroes. I'd also like to see a villain that isn't some generic super-evil bad guy that wants to invade and kill everything, and is being controlled by some even more nefarious demon/dragon. If they're sucky at least include the option of DLC characters from past games lol.
  6. I'm a bit surprised you guys are all saying Clarine. I may have just gotten RNG-screwed, but I remember her going 10 level-ups and getting a +1 to Magic. She could dodge-tank, but had nowhere near the firepower of let's say, Priscilla from FE7. Yes, Murdock's map is very unfriendly to sword-users. Then again, I used Miledy to solo 2/3 of the map, so what do I know.
  7. None of my posts in this topic, and in general, are to be taken seriously. (Have you seen my screenname and status) It's just me goofing off and saying silly things with my fellow poasters. @Interdimensional Observer, I agree with your argument regarding movement. I meant in the context of the debate regarding Lyn v Eliwood. My 0.02 is that cavs/paladins aren't very useful in endgame due to their low BST, and have trouble fighting elite units. You're right though that the main point of leveling them is to fight Linus in Four-Fanged Offense. Shout out to Farina. I always pay $$$ to get her, she's one of my favorites in the game. Dodgetank + great offense + FIli Shield + Boots = soloing the rest of the game
  8. I'm in the process of spending my feathers to obtain L&D 3, Desperation 3, and Galeforce on my +Spd Camilla to have her join her comrade Cordelia as quad-hitting Desperationforce flyers. This will roughly take 66,000 feathers. I regret nothing; Desperation users are probably the most fun units to run in the whole game.
  9. 1. Beating that god-awful Chapter 11-12 Chain Challenge on Lunatic. I've come to the conclusion I need an army of Desperation Bladetome mages in every color, plus Desperation/Brave weapon flier units to beat it. Which should be feasible by 2019. I just got two Ayras so her in desperation range might be good enough to take out that annoying Saber in Stage 7. 2. Building up Elise to get Recover+ and a staff upgrade. Currently she has about 50 SP, so the upcoming Warriors maps have great timing. 3. Hopefully summoning Hector soon and either putting Distant Counter on Ayra or Camilla.
  10. It will be interesting to se how Rhajat's banner will be handled. Some had speculated she would be a Tempest Trial reward. This is literally Ayra 2.0 except Rhajat isn't a S tier unit with a unique weapon and skill AKA I don't care.
  11. I don't agree with this sentiment. It's fun to support your favorite characters, and it's interesting to see upsets, like Shanna's unexpected win. Also, the reactions of the internet fanbase aren't indicative of the larger playerbase, I believe. Some people just take the gauntlet WAY too seriously.
  12. Pulled my second Ayra with +Atk -HP IVs Some are complaining about this banner and it's percentages being somewhat misleading. Some heroes have a less than 3% summoning rate due to game mechanix, and that Hero Fest was better in terms of sniping for units. I agree with that, but Hero Fest did have pity breakers, which are thankfully removed from this banner.
  13. They're mentally ill, besides being wrong. Only people who want "S rank" would care about movement difference. Whatever, I can use the mine glitch to grind Nino to Sage in one chapter and kill Sonia and they can't.
  14. I would love for this to happen as it would increase the replay value of Awakening and Fates tremendously, and it would be interesting to see how units from Heroes would fare in a more fleshed-out game. The implementation of this on one hand could reduce the incentive for the mobile players to spend money on summoning, but on the other hand it would be nice to have more "durable" characters, so to speak, if god forbid (lol) the servers get shut down. What do you guys think?
  15. @Ice Dragon You should post a list of your +10 merged units. We can't help you if we don't know the extent of the problem.
  16. I went with upgrading Def/HP for A! Tiki, because mine is +Def and has a +3 Defense Slot A skill. Nowi has more balanced stats though so I might go with the plus Mt. Since your Nowi is plus Spd you might be best to buff Spd, so she doesn't run the risk of being double-attacked. Lightning Breath is still the better skill for Tiki then, because the loli doesn't have the speed to doubleattack, especially for mages which this would be most useful for.
  17. Unfortunately I seem to summon a -Spd 5-star unit quite often, especially if it's a character I really wanted (Kagero, Brave Lyn, Ayra). Plus Defense is my friend, which isn't the worst stat to buff, I suppose, considering that baiting is an important part of the game. Honestly I'm not that concerned with natures anymore, because with sacred seals plus SI and buffs, most can be overcome. Except a -Spd Kagero
  18. @Ice Dragon Thank you. I'm good then, because I have two Sheenas. Does the Flametongue+ forge have a typo? After the forge, it is still a 1 range weapon, without the ability to counterattack at any range. However, the special ability is: "If foe's Range=2, damage calculated using the lower of foe's Def or Res. If it isn't a mistake, I'm definitely not wasting Distant Counter on Little Tiki.
  19. If I want to give a unit Slaying Axe+, would I be better off having them inherit the Killing Axe+ and upgrading it on them? Or are inherited weapons locked to upgrades?
  20. Is there any information regarding upgrading the Killer weapons to Slaying weapons?
  21. I've spent about 160 orbs, and I've gotten 4 5-star units so far: Ayra(!), Ike, and two Dierdres. At this point i'm shifting my strategy to exclusively summoning green, due to my limited resources and the fact that it gives me the highest focus hero summon rate. I'm going to spoil all the new content added to this game by obsessively clearing all the maps once I am off on Thursday lol.
  22. @Omegaprism Nice. I would watch that anime for sure. Gerik and Joshua seem like they'd be pretty cool to do some crazy s**t with or just to get a beer and make crude jokes. Also I love Gerik's base stats. And who in their right minds would promote Eliwood over Lyn?
  23. I recently played through Sacred Stones again, and it got me thinking about which characters I love to use as dodgetanks. It was inspired by Chapter 18, Last Hope, where you must survive 13 turns. Marisa on a pillar had 100+ avoid and ~65% critical hit rate with killing edge equipped, and ORKO'd roughly half of the map's enemies, and only one enemy connected on a hit. The GBA series has a ton of good dodgetanks, due to abundant myrmidons/mercenaries/healers/magic users. Here's my favorites: Binding Blade: Sue. She got up to 80 avoid at the end of the game, which made her the best at baiting out ranged enemies. Blazing Sword: Oddly enough, Priscilla. Her high magic, skill, speed, and luck stats guaranteed her to dodge most attacks, and the only attack disadvantage she suffers is dark magic, which is pretty rare. She could sit on a base and take out an entire side of the map. IMO mages can be the best dodgetanks because of their weapon advantage. Sacred Stones: Tana and Marisa. Both have 90 avoid on neutral terrain when standing next to their support character. When Marisa is on good terrain, usually the enemy hit% is 0. Who are you guy's favorite characters to use as dodgetanks?
  24. Nah. I have spent $100 so far, and that netted me 3 5-star units; Minerva and H! Nowi on their respective banners, and Raven. Mind you, I spent $50 on the Halloween banner and only got 1 focus unit, which was definitely not worth it. In comparison, I summoned 4 PA dancers without spending at all. I've also pulled 5 star Dierdre, Ephraim, and Nowi as free pulls. So no, buying has not improved my summoning luck for me. I've actually had much better luck when not spending. I've learned my lesson and will not be spending any more money on the game, as much as I'd enjoy getting some characters, like Spring Camilla and Hector. IMO the $100 wasn't worth it, considering I could have spent that buying PoR or RD, which are better games than FEH. I've watched parts of Youtuber summoning videos, and they often don't get the units they want (PM1 seems to pull many -Atk units).
  25. Yes, i'm truly "looking forward" to starting Book II; aka beating all the available chapters in less than a week as I desperately grind for orbs to use for summoning on the Legendary Heroes banner.
