  1. So this hack is a simple change to pokemon Emerald, it simply changed it so you can only catch terrible pokemon. To illustrate this lets look at the starters A pokemon with one of the lowest stats in the series A water type that learns its first water move at level 38 And the one I ended up going with Slugma. Now Sunkern gives you the easiest chance against the first Gym leader by far, simply by having a super effective move of any kind, but I kinda like Slugma, its a fun mon that mess with status, the problem is it has REALLY bad moves at the start. Fortunately the first battle is rigged in your favor, and In honor of the thread (and blatant copy of @Benice's version) the starter is Julizan. Although that being said I am going to need to grind before the first mandatory rival battle as With just smog to attack with, he has a hard time against even the trash in the first route...this is a bit of a rough grind, so it might be a bit.
  2. This is kinda random, but I think I will do a Nuzlocke with some of the random TeeHee-ers as names. It will be the classic Emerald trashlocke hack, so expect everyone to have thier names attached to trash mons
  3. The creators knew what they were hinting at when the only two of the dragons Lewyn/Holsety physically described in Jugdral were the god of light Naga, and the god of fire Salamand with a description matching Tiki and Bantu. They knew what they were hinting at by having Tiki talk about characters around 1000 years before Marth. If it is headcannon, it is by deliberate baiting from the creators.
  4. Looking a bit more into it This statement from Xane seems to imply Tiki was sealed thousands of years ago...Now looking at the quote about Tiki only have 10 years of memory, only 10 years of memory, but Bantu awakened her after centuries of watching, add into this some of Bantu's support conversation and it seems that Tiki was awake enough to let Bantu know she disdained vegetables centuries before Marth was alive. Some of that time being awake was also clearly during the events of Shadow Dragon, so clearly that 10 years of memories wasn't all in one sitting. To summarize, Tiki was put to sleep thousands of years before Marth, at some vague period centuries after being put to sleep, and centuries before Marth was alive, Tiki was awake, and it isn't the only time she would be awake. It is all very vague, but perhaps some of that time awake was during the lifetime of this ancestor 1000 before Marth was alive, although she still considered 1000 years ago to be during the same "age" as her birth, which was multiple thousands of years ago Side note, looking over the translation of original Mystery of the Emblem on the main site seems to imply Tiki was born simultaneously approximately 1000 years ago, and 7000 years ago, which is why I am only looking at the New Mystery translation, as it at least resembles consistency with its vagueness.
  5. Maybe, but she elaborates that the way she think Robin resembles Marth is are things that are difficult to learn without personal experience. She describes Chrom as resembling this unknown ancestor during this same conversation, and this is kinda hinting that these sort of more nebulous aspects are the things she is describing. Nor does she suggest its from the same continent either. Its worth noting that you meet Tiki on an entirely different continent from Ylisse/Archanea.
  6. I get the funny feeling that the Gamefaq tier list was created with the idea that availability wasn't being considered. It accounts for a lot of oddities, like seeing Tormod so high, and Ilyana so low, etc.
  7. She does describe 1000 years before Marth as the age she was born into, but who knows what time period an age might be for her, plus her being able to recognize Chrom as similar to someone 1000 years before Marth hints that she was at minimum at a child-like level of development at that point.
  8. Theoretically you could link Chrom to King Marth somewhere up the chain, given Tiki specifically stating Chrom is related to Marth Which could then add a set of links for [Anri's Father]-----------------|---------------------[Anri's Mother]\ |-------------------------------------| Anri Marcellus( Anri's brother) -----|----[Marcellus's Wife] Cornellius (Marcellus's Son) ----------|---------------Liza (Cornellius's Wife) Mostyn--|--(Unknown Queen of Talys) |--------------------------------------------------------------------| Caede--------------------------|------------------------------ Marth Elice (2000 years of ancestor of Chrom) I was tempted to add Merric as a husband to Elice to this as well, although the lack of any child of theirs being hinted at in any of the endings (even their marriage is only insinuated at best...) The Naga talked about in Jugdral is explicitly described as having the appearance of a young maiden, so Jugdral's Naga may have been Tiki all along...(I mean they hint at the fire god Salamand being Bantu by describing him as an old man...) Neither of these make sense given what is said. I included the Tiki quote above in a spoiler box, but she is specifically describing someone from 1000 years before Marth. Anri is Marth's great Uncle, unless all of his family lives for multiple hundred years that simply isn't possible. As for the Exalt, they are described as living 1000 years before Chrom (so rough 1000 years after Marth).
  9. I believe the only way is to get 1800 Visit points...
  10. Yep, in the original hold R+Left and press start to get the transfer options to show up, go to send and pick the password option. Admittedly there are shorter passwords that transfer less data if the Gold password is too much of a hassle...
  11. It is big...and long...and it will be a while before transfer events occur, and some are a bit obscure (like having gone back to Vault latter in the game in the original Golden Sun to trigger and event in this one) Also fun fact, I still have the official guide from Nintendo Power for that game. Hopefully you don't have to hand input the massive gold password for transfer. I did that once of twice when I was a kid, and it was a pain in the butt (using an old link cable for transfer was SO much easier, but at least they had the password option for those unable to use a link cable...) Having played DS1 last of the three, its age really was showing. By far my least favorite of the trilogy. Have fun with DS2...just out of curiosity did you end up joining the challenge rock covenant, (I think Company of Champions is its official name)?
  12. Good Luck, the endgame is a toughie, made kinda annoying by the game not letting you save between chapter 27 and Endgame... No hard feeling, as I shared it here hoping people would see it.
  13. Funny to see this video get posted here again, but it is a really interesting look at NFTs (and the whole idea of Crypto really) for those even slightly interested. People should watch it if they have the time.
  14. I am not sure if its possible, but I do have two thought for how it might be. First is allowing the units that are recruited in that chapter to be allowed to body-block the exit, that might give you the leeway you need to complete it, but is also dependent on how strictly you are soloing. The other would be to get the DLC class skill Galeforce. That would require either using the DLC grinding map for absurdly many levels, or using the skill buy option. With Galeforce, I think you can pull off the kills on the paired pegasi that are programed to go for the goal instead of attacking fast enough to prevent a gameover from them, with look like the greatest hurdle to soloing that chapter. It would still be extremely hard to pull off, as you would need to enemy phase a LOT and find ways to survive that, but with that skill I do not think its necessarily impossible...
  15. Also, the remake's translation was far too faithful to the original Japanese, and the difference between the original and remake is something to point to about the value of localization over translation.
  16. I was more thinking turn off random moves (possibly the similar strength change as well).
  17. Oh boy, you didn't select the setting where pokemon are randomized to ones of a similar strength... whelp expect random Legends to just pop up randomly all over the place. Also I respect you for not grabbing the Legendary. If you hadn't randomized moves, Legends wouldn't be as terrifying as they are going to be for you. Legends aren't supposed to exist at low levels, so they often have rather bad levelup move-sets before it would be physically possible to have one (although the Regi's are kinda famous for self destructing all over the place in randomizers, as that is one of their initial moves...). Also that Rival setting is why he chose one of the Pokemon that you had a choice of as well. A valuable lesson many Nuzlockers learn the hard way is that with a lot of low level Pokemon, its just safer to start throwing balls immediately. Although if you didn't hit the setting to have the catch rate match the pokemon being replaced that might not work as well... Sounds about right. Baby Pokes are generally terrible, although ideally you could have grinded happiness by finding a place to walk back and forth on the highest speedup setting, and then level it up once to Pikachu first (although Pikachu isn;t exactly great either. Yeah... Oof. To be fair if that trainer had a better AI, you would have been making the right move there, but alas the trainer is supposed to be stupid, and thus did the unexpectedly bad move. Although given that Slowpoke is the slowest Pokemon in the series I think the switch was still kinda a bad idea, unless that Slowpoke had enough of a level lead to be able to out speed the Gothitelle anyway the Gothitelle would have probably had the opportunity to outspeed and use the Signal Beam before Slowpoke could finish it... Fair enough, although taking the loss as an to reset and switch up your randomizer setting might have been a good idea. If you didn't scale catch rates, you would have a hilariously low chance to catch it anyway... I am not the biggest fan of them either, but the Universal Pokemon Randomizer does have a lot if setting to really smooth out the experience. The settings to make pokemon have similar strength, and have the catch rate of the pokemon they are replacing help a lot to maintain the difficulty curve of the game. Heck you can just randomize the encounters, so your game knowledge about trainers is still relevant...
  18. Yeah, I noticed about 3-4 others that have been hiding the same link in periods or dashes at the end (the mods have deleted those others as they were from a few days ago), so I think its all coming from the same source (one of them also had a weird gmail name like this as well).
  19. Why would they bother, they are a bot that is hiding a suspicious link in the period of that sentence, for god knows what nefarious purpose. Getting gullible fools to contact that email address to get added to a scammer's email list is probably part of the point of it.
  20. Glad you like it, although you probably should have put the solution in a spoiler tag for those that haven't solved today's word.
  21. This is kinda random, but recently I have been playing https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/, and was wondering if anyone else was. I switched it over to hard mode fairly soon, as I have stumbled on such a good starting word that I have been fairly consistently getting it in 3 (once I went as far as 4...) Spoilers for my killer first word below.
  22. If you were going for a ranked run environment, then I would argue Lex is the best pairing for this one, as this is clearly the best pairing for Lex, and passing on Paragon makes reaching your experience rank quotas for 2nd gen much easier, as you have two extra units every chapter that can benefit from paragon during each chapter, on top of saving the money and the micromanagement effort/time needed to trade the paragon band around for the arena on those two (and that saved money can be used to compensate for Scathach not inheriting as many swords as he would with Holyn). Making the experience rank easier to reach is far more useful than anything Holyn gives these kids. Indeed, I was mainly pointing out that adding Luna and Sol to one of those kids is only a minor benefit. ...None of the dropped weapons are ones I would expect to reach 50 kills, so I don't see passing a weapon with 0 kills as that big of detriment. Also I disagree with the idea that it decreases your flexibility to your inheritance, that it instead increases the flexibility of inheritance, as it allows characters that would otherwise inherit no weapons an opportunity to inherit something. Gaining that greater flexibility in inheritance is the benefit of keeping it instead of selling it, and Swords (and Lances) are one of the weapon types that have that flexibility, unlike Bows, and Magic which have 0 drop options (technically Axes have one, but they aren't passed on at all, so moot point on that regard).
  23. If promoting Arden is what pushes him over the edge, I would argue that this still places him in B tier, as promoting Arden is a pain to pull off and being difficult to set up is a defining characteristic of B-tier. I will also note that the Skill priority of FE4 is Astra>Luna>Sol, only one can activate, which weakens the impact of adding Sol and Luna to them. Another thing I will note is that Swords have the most opportunities to be dropped by an enemy in generation 1, tied with Lances (and staff I guess) at 2.
