  1. Blew my only 25 orbs on the PoR banner trying to get Ike and all I have to show for it is a 4* Hawkeye. I wouldn't have cared much, the Celica banner is cool but I can live without any of those characters. Then I remembered that this GHB battle was going to happen. Which probably means a "Fighting Lloyd" banner... which means Blazing Sword characters. ...which means Lyn. FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- Most I'll get is probably 20-30 Orbs from the new quests. 40 if I'm lucky... but that also means if I hadn't splurged like an igit, I'd have 60, a bunch of tries for her... impulses man. They don't serve the F2P. To stay on topic, I do like Lloyd. But he probably won't be as good as some of the better sword units.
  2. My flier options are much more limited, which makes all of this very simple. 4* Palla, Catria, Camilla (Got a second one too) and Cherche. All the latter 3 are +ATK. No Minerva, Cordelia, Caeda, Clair, Shanna (She's 3*) or Spring Camilla. What I have is what I have to work with. With Cavalry though things are more complicated due to the plethora of choices.
  3. I won't tell you who I'm leveling because I'm not entirely sure what to go with, but I'm gunning for the 10th stratum Cavalry and Flier orb quests (Only have 1 armor unit so oh well.) and starting with the cavalry so I'm building up my cavalry units but I don't know what my composition should be for the best results. I only know some of the banes and I'll put them there, but build me a cavalry team if you can. Here's my barracks lineup. 5*: Cain, +1 Frederick (+HP, -ATK) 4*: Abel, Eliwood (+ATK, -SPD), Gunter (+ATK, -DEF or RES), Peri (+ATK, -HP), Jagen, Ursula, Xander, Peri, Sully 3*: Cecilia, Stahl Cain seems like a given since he's my 5*, but Eliwood has Ward Cavalry which stacks with Fortify Cavalry if I'm running Jagen. Using Jagen also means that I'm not using Abel who is most certainly a better combat unit. Frederick also seems like an obvious choice given he's also 5* but using him means forgoing Gunter who gives the entire team a much needed and massive boost in Hone Cavalry. Then there's Ursula who's the only source of magic (lol Cecilia). Xander, Peri and Sully pale in comparison to the other choices to me but if you know something I don't I'm all ears. No healer cavalry also sucks but nothing that can be done about that at this point. Basically, I'm trying to choose between individual unit strength vs overall team compatability and enhancement. And in the 10th stratum, that matters a lot, especially when every unit has to survive every battle. I'm all ears.
  4. The idea of flying mages or healers is terrifying to even think about. The fact that one exists already is baffling. Aside from that, there are less armors than any other. Heroes needs Oswin. He needs to show up so Hector and Effie can be dethroned. Oswin needs to make an appearance and he needs the highest defense stat in the entire roster. it's criminal that he isn't in the game already.
  5. Let's see here... 1: I currently have 2 Sorens. One is +ATK and -DEF and he's level 40 and I have one level 1 Soren. I was considering merging the two but I also am waiting on a Nino. I've come to the realization that I have a +DEF and -RES level 1 Nino and the one I've been leveling turns out to be -SPD (Both 3*). Meaning both of these Ninos are garbo. She is my ideal green tome unit and I was initially thinking about SI'ing Soren's Rexcalibur onto her while I built her up into a 5* from 3* or 4*. Question is, should I burn my extra Rexcalibur on a Nino that is neither +ATK or +SPD, save it for her later to make building a new one easier, or simply merge it, make my current +ATK Soren even stronger, and build up a better Nino normally when she comes around? 2. I love Matthew. He's one of my favorite characters in the series. He's also one of the worst units in this game as it turns out. I really want a 5* Matthew still. Currently I have a neutral Matt and a -SPD one so he won't be going anywhere anytime soon but I'm going to keep opening colorless orbs in hope of him. Two questions here. First is, how do you go about making this unit good? Skill setups, weapons etc because he's really not great and his weapon is weird. Poison strike is nice but when so many units, (like Kagero, whom I have and is also +ATK) can kill units outright it doesn't seem worth it. Kagero will still be my first unlocked 5* when I get the feathers, but Matthew is one of my longterm goals as is my Lyn/Hector/Matthew/Nino dream team. Back to the question though, how do you make this character viable? Second question, it won't influence my decision or my bias but... just so that I'm not slighted and know where to put my priorities. Is it worth even half of the effort to make Matthew worth it when I have a 4* +ATK Kagero waiting on the feathers to be 5*ed as well as a +DEF, -HP Takumi that I just came into possession of?
  6. Okay, I went ahead and did one for Ilyana. My Radiant Dawn #2. Might have gotten a bit imaginative on this one, tell me what you think. Next up will likely be Ross. Already have some ideas in my head for him.
  7. That complicates things.... it would be easier if I actually really liked any of the choices. I'll probably just procrastinate until the day and make a decision then.
  8. Hmm... Let's see... must haves in bold. Jugdral: Sigurd, Ayra Elibe: Erk, Guy, Athos? Magvel: Ross, Lute, Colm, L'Arachel Tellius: Edward, Mia, Ilyana, Shinon, Nolan (Sorry Boyd), Sothe, Greil, Black Knight, Jill, Haar I've only played FE6-10 And only have a decent degree of knowledge on FE4/5 so I can't comment on the other games.
  9. Bow Lyn is pretty obvious as is Urvan (or Greil) Ike. Don't really know for the other two but another version of the same character with the same weapon when there are literally dozens of characters that probably still want a spot in this game is amazingly redundant. Roy is a good enough character on his own to not have a second version. I'm still scratching my head at
  10. So... who is the most likely to win all the marbles? I don't really love any of the choices of either mage class. Robin is cool but I don't care much for him either so in that case I'm just going to go for efficiency since this is my first gauntlet. Tharja is super popular from what I hear around, I like Linde more but should I just vote for Tharja if I'm going for the win?
  11. Couldn't resist doing one myself. This is for my favorite FE10 character, Edward. Other favorites that aren't in FEH include Ilyana, Mia (FE9/10), Ross (FE8) and Guy (FE7). I'll possibly do ones for one or a couple of them in the future but I'd like opinions on this one guys.
  12. YOU SON OF A- I did two rolls with my last 40 and pulled TWO SORENS. One in each pool in the exact same spot. No ike though... best swordie I got was a 4* Lon Qu. Quest for a good sword unit continues....
  13. The idea of inheriting weapons isn't even something that's really hit me yet. Plus the fact that you have to feed 5*s to get the best weapons. Lukas in particular is crazy customizable. I can literally make him a stone wall like the game wants me to or I can give him something like Brave Lance+ and MoonBow which... seems like nonsense.
  14. Forgot to mention also that my Frederick is +1. I was... well... not versed very well on inheriting at all when I first drew him and well... I got... 2... 5* Fredericks... from... the... same... pull. :|
  15. I changed my post here and made my old one into a topic since I didn't want it to be lost in an extremely active topic like this one. I didn't expect such a fantastic reply. If you're a mod or know one then you can have your post and this reply moved to that topic but I'm going to reply to it here. Lukas is a tank so I'll just get him to 40 and when he's in the 30s he'll replace Subaki as my lance user. I do kind of enjoy him. I'm going to focus on Chrom I think, but I'll train both swordies. Won't abandon any 5*s either. For healers I'm already training Serra and Lissa. Serra is 23 and Lissa is 19. Course they're 3* and Wrys is 4*. I'm not sure if I'm going to save feathers for a 5* or if I'm going to start going for 4*s for inheriting purposes/growing mains like Nino. But I do know that my first 5* will be Kagero. Oh no, I posted it here first. But didn't think I would get a reply so I changed my post to something short and made it a topic on it's own. If a mod sees this series of posts I'd really appreciate all these posts being moved to that topic so I'm not cluttering 2 threads.
  16. I'm pretty sure this topic isn't breaking any rules. If so I apologize and let me know what to fix. New player here. F2P for now. I've played and beaten FE6/7/8/9/10. 7 and 10 remain my favorites. Haven't played the older games but I know some info about them and the characters to an extent. I know little to nothing about Awakening/Fates though. I've been playing this game for... 3-4 days maybe? It's rather addictive to be honest. Haven't got anyone to 40 yet but I've been blessed with 4 5* stars so far. 5* Young Tiki, Frederick, Faye, Lukas. 4* Kagero, Chrom, Palla, Gunter, Jeorge, Virion, Henry, Robin(M), Odin, Abel, Hana, Jagen, Arthur, Wrys, Beruka, Maria, Oboro, Draug, Sully 3* Matthew, Gaius, Serra, Lissa, Catria, Est, Stahl, Subaki, Niles, Shareena, Lon Qu, Cecila, Azama, Nino, Setsuna, Eliwood, Palla, Niles, Zephiel, Sophia, Fir 2* Alfonse, Virion, Raigh, Subaki, Gunter, Felicia 1* Gunter, Felicia First team was led by 4* Chrom and Kagero both of whom I was lucky enough to get as my very first pool. Chrom/Kagero/Arthur/Jagen were my first main team. They carried me into the 20s and then started falling apart. My current main team is Frederick/Kagero/Y.Tiki with alternations for the 4th between 3* Subaki and 4* Chrom. 4* Chrom and Hana are the best I have for swordies. Don't have any exceptional lancers yet either and this whole inheriting thing makes me scared to spend SP on my main units. (Though I still have to a degree.). Also not sure who I'm going to keep in the long run besides Kagero and I don't know if I should sacrifice 4*s for their skills on characters that might not be my endgame (Like Frederick who is currently sitting on 350 SP). I don't fully understand the IV thing yet and I'm not entirely sure how the + and - bases work. But I'm pretty sure I have a +ATK Kagero and Nino. While I really want to get Matthew from 2* to 5* since playing this game Kagero remains my highest leveled unit and I want to 5* her but I don't know if I should save for her or upgrade some 3*s to inherit skills to her or Frederick (or should I hold out for Hector or level up Gunter?) Characters I've been giving extra leveling attention to and ultimately want to 4* and 5* star are Kagero, Catria, Nino and Matthew. Chrom seems like an obvious choice but he's been really underwhelming to me and I kind of want to hold out for a better sword unit because at 4* neither him or Hana are particularly special. Palla has been doing really well for me and she's 4* but I don't know how worth it she is in the long term and I'm sure one of my units could really use that MoonBow. The #1 character I want in this game is Lyn. She and Hector are my respective 2 that I want the most regardless of tiers. My dream team for this game is currently 5* Lyn/Hector/Matthew/Nino. Ike is probably the only character that could stand in for Lyn, but he's not around just yet. Biggest things for me right now are... 1. currently I don't have a "Main" lance user. Subaki's lance and absurd def comes in handy but almost half the time he can't even damage his target on the higher levels. Catria seems like she's a beast but she's only a 3 star and I don't know if it's worth spending 2k of my 6k feathers on boosting her or waiting. Should I invest in leveling my 5* Lukas (Lv 22) or *4 Abel (Lv 20) and using one of as a stand in lance user for my main team or just fill the gap with someone like 4* Robin(M) 2. Is it worth going for 5* Matthew or even 5* Jaffar when I'm sitting on a 4* +ATK Kagero that I can 5 star later on? 3. Lyn is my ideal sword unit, but is it worth it to invest in Chrom right now as my swordie? Hana kind of sucks. 4. What do I do with Robin? He only comes at 3* and 4*. Should I keep him and boost him to 5*? Or even if I boost him should I give his seal spd to another? He's miles better than Odin... maybe I'm thinking too far ahead. 5. Should I bother continuing to roll specifically for Lyn if I come across a Ryoma, Lucina, Marth or Erika? In terms of optimal performance. 6. Virion is great Inherit food for Seal Spd, but Jeorge is pretty good and I have a 5* Faye. But is it worth using any of these units or should I just stick to Kagero and pray for Takumi in the long run? 7. Should I just send Faye home because with her skill setup I'm not really seeing any useful inheriting utility for her or even usefulness as a unit aside from helping to level a Takumi later on. I could certainly use the feathers, but sending away one of my 5* units just sounds surreal. Advice? Her bow is nifty. 8. Shareena is a resource SINKHOLE. Alfonse I didn't bother with but Shareena is pretty decent overall. Since there's only one of her and I've brought her to 4* who should I 4 star, her or Catria? 9. Frederick is currently my #2. But it turns out there are quite a few better axe users, should I invest rare skills into him or just use him as a foothold until say... a Hector/Raven/Camilla comes along. 10. I have my current composition. But out of all the characters I have currently and at their current star ranks. What is the most "optimal" team I can have? 11. who should be sent home right now? 12. How do I move forward this early? Lunatic is pretty difficult right now and I need skills but I'm afraid to spend SP or waste units that don't have their 3rd level of their tier through inheriting. Most of the best stuff comes from *4 or *5 units that are hard to come by. My tactician name is Tenk. Friend code coming later.
  17. My previous post was waaaaaay too long and would get lost in the sea of posts here. So I'm going to say instead that this game exceeded my expectations of a mobile game. I've come to expect very little of app games but this one is surprisingly addictive and generous. Considering I've played 5 of the games, I wasn't sure what exactly to expect from a condensed mobile version but it's surprisingly still very detailed and intricate. Don't know how long I'll be around but I can't put the game down right now and I'll always be keeping an eye on it from this point forward. Maybe this is that kick I need to finally get a DS/3DS/2DS and catch up on all those FE's since Radiant Dawn.
  18. Ike looks borked. And that's fantastic because he's one of my favorite characters. I just wish I hadn't used so many orbs already since I only have 32 and I'll have 3 or 4 pulls probably during this event, considering how many orbs the game threw at me and how many I blew on the other two banners which didn't have units even almost as good as Ike, I'm filled with a tinge of regret. Ike would be a Godsend considering I don't have any great sword units and have to rely on 5* Tiki for my red unit. 4* Chrom and Hana are the best I have for swordies. I would have liked Mia but considering how many RedSwords there are already I can understand why they wouldn't put 2 in the same banner. Ideally though, Edward is probably my favorite sword unit from the Tellius series. I'd like a Dawn Brigade banner just for him honestly even if it meant I'd have to tolerate Micaiah who I hate. Sothe is cool looking though so he'd make a good Dagger Unit. Considering Eddie's wrath in FE10, he'd probably have something like Desperation or Defiant ATK and some sort of other attack/speed boost. His Caladbolg was a luck booster and he was light affinity so he should get something like a defense boost or for something more unique, -1 special trigger cooldown if attacking axe users or even an axebreaker skill. Would be ironic considering that whole "Blocks axes with his face" thing. Ilyana is another character I'd like to see from Tellius, but I doubt she'd show up, and she would probably suck anyway. That speed growth man, that speed growth. Other picks would be Mia, Nolan, Boyd, Jill/Haar and Aran. But only if they give Aran fortress, warding blow and the highest defense stat in the game because NOTHING could kill that man except for axes and magic (and of course skills).
  19. I definitely know that. But when it's late and you're typing posts on autopilot. These things happen. Staff indeed.
  20. Just have to say this looks amazing, it's practically RPG Maker for FE. (Wait... FEXP... Derp.) Either way I'll definitely be touching on this like everyone else when it eventually drops. The idea I had for a romhack was actually a main story and then a prequel game starring a particular character from the main game. In the unlikely event that main game gets off the ground and finished, I'll without a doubt be using FEXNA for the prequel game. Looking forward to more progress.
  21. Bonus question also. D - Would it require assembly to create a stave to heal all allies adjacent to the healer? Think a massively watered down fortify staff.
  22. In that case, it seems like the best thing to do would be to create an "attack" stave that couldn't actually be used to attack and give it a stat boost for being equipped. That on the other hand would probably create issues if anyone were to get an enemy unit in range with it and use the "attack" option. I suppose I'd have no choice but to create a legitimate battle stave with a stat booster. Though that would create problems of it's own as it would be giving healers potentially legitimate offense. I want to boost healer utility and tactical use, not turn them into battle units. We'll see what happens.
  23. Agro hit the nail right on the hammer. Regarding the A series of questions, I figured with the Barrier stave in play you would simply need to change a specific value in order to change the stat temporarily boosted or add stats to be boosted simultaneously. Show's how little I know. As for Bx2 and C, It would appear that you're saying that the staff would need to be an "attack" weapon in order to have boosted stats. That means I can't actually have a healing stave that gives +5 def to the wearer? It has to be technically a weapon?
  24. Essentially meaning unlikely for all but experienced coders and hackers and utterly out of the question. Well thanks for the quick reply, I'm glad I got one before I got my hopes up.
