  1. The last bit I know, I just didn't think they would implement a skill that extended from one end of the stage to the other. That... is... a lot. Ok I'm pulling for this banner. I don't care who I get, everyone is a win. (Except Roderick)
  2. I didn't want to sound uneducated but hold on a second. Cardinal directions in this case is from wherever the unit is facing to the end of the stage?! I just assumed it was any unit adjacent to the unit with the ability in all directions which makes it underwhelming and almost pointless, the range was never specified. Heck... pulling Luke may have it's benefits if that's the case.
  3. Banner conflict... about to come into nearly 60 orbs... Vantage Banner Reasoning: My +ATK B!Cordelia really wants Gordin's Brave Bow+... she gets that and I *5 Hana for LnD3 and I officially have my first real death dealer. Reinhardt is also a thing as all of my other blue mages are -ATK, this banner alone would shift my game by giving me one or both of the best ranged units in the entire game. Drawback: I don't actually need Vantage, plus Lon'Qu as a *5 is worthless for me. Masked Marth invalidates him. I gain literally nothing if I pull him but not pulling red ruins chances of things like *4 Roy, Selena, etc things I need. New Mystery Banner Reasoning: I really want Athena, she looks amazing and I'm still lacking a *5 Sword Infantry with an actual skillset. On top of that I lack any sort of red mage so even Katarina is a win, plus these characters will be on the next arena season and potentially they could curveball us and make them the next Tempest Trial bonus characters. Drawback: Luke... he just ruins the whole deal. I don't want nor need another *5 sword cavalry. Especially a Brave Sword+ one. Plus I don't care about Roderick and Reinhardt as a blue is 100 times better to pull as a blue unit. One banner could potentially help my red sword/mage game in a major way which is sorely lacking, plus Arena+Possible TT being made much easier. But the other could potentially up my game as a whole in the long run. BB+ means I don't have to spend 20k on Klein/Gordin and Reinhardt invalidates any further investment into other blue tomes. I'm literally set until the meta changes with the two best ranged units. What's the better choice here? I really want Athena... I mean... I really want Athena
  4. Pretty comfortable at tier 16 and I doubt I'll be going anywhere for a while.
  5. I have to admit the same. After TT, Arena is pretty breezy unless the enemy team just hard counters your own. TT has sharpened my gameplay considerably.
  6. Crap this banner has me conflicted... the Vantage Banner is amazing, B!Cordelia really wants Brave Bow+ and Reinhardt would be amazing since I have NO strong Blue Tome users.. on the other hand, I really want Athena, she looks amazing and a *5 infantry sword I don't have to sacrifice 5 units to deck out would be pretty nice (Marthcina). Katarina would even be nice since I have no *5 Red Mage, but Luke.... another sword cavalry with no skills that I care about... Crap... decisions.
  7. I have Xander with Fury/Vantage... I don't need another sword cavalry.. just give me an Athena.. or at least a Hana so I can find a use for this Brave Sword+.
  8. Crap I thought I'd be able to save for the Vantage banner. I really want Athena... I don't have any good Red Mages so Katarina would be a bonus... but 3 reds and if I get ANOTHER brave sword cavalry...
  9. That Blarblade+ or Moonbow would be really nice on someone... but it's definitely more important that he not die to red mages, they literally end the stages for me. Probably the biggest issue I have in the TT as a whole, so... I may make the sacrifice. I do have a spare Palla and Fir that I can give to Olivia for Moonbow and Speed+3. Another thing though is that my Olivia is +SPD/-RES! Seal Res on Wrys is definitely an idea, he lacks both an A and C skill at the moment. Makes me feel a bit silly that I fed my new +RES Wrys to Sakura and kept my +SPD one. - True... very true. I'm not going to worry about MM, unless some orbs fall into my lap and I draw a Fae, she lacks use in TT unless she starts clearing, and without being a healbot that's rough. My SI stores are withering.
  10. - I have one Odin, but putting R-Tomebreaker on Lukas means removing Quick Riposte 2 which can significantly slow down the course of stages when he's not melting every physical red and blue (Minus Armors) in one turn with Ignis - My team is Lukas/Soren/Olivia/Wrys, Problem is Lukas doesn't check red mages and Olivia doesn't check green ones. (No Ruby Sword+, only Ruby Sword and no TA.) Sakura has Wrys set in the other team, she keeps people healthy but it's never enough when they can't kill fast enough and the wrong move spells instant failure. I need more firepower, but I don't have supreme OHKO power so my units take the beating and with no healer (or Fae for Renewal 3, so Masked Marth healbot is a no-go) it's rough after 2 or 3 stages. - I usually take her with Bride Cordelia who has Fortify Def and Fortify Res (Seal) and then she buffs ATK/DEF. But even the 4 buffs isn't always enough to kill. Tharja's attack power is just really underwhelming. Every mage I have except Soren suffers from this same issue. - I was incorrect. My Raigh is actually +SPD/-HP so no worries about being doubled. Sophia is +ATK/-SPD. But with a tome that's 3 points weaker and 3 points more ATK then Tharja his damage output is literally the same, just with 5 less speed. I don't have too many Veronica checks though so I may just train him up to the 30s real quick and toss him in there. B!Caeda started at level 32, she gained the XP real quick. Plus I think I have a spare *3 Henry so I may just slap tomebreaker on him, maybe. - The point difference though... I'm going to tinker around with my next few runs and see if my points are any better. I'm getting consistent 339 failures. If I can succeed more on the lower stage for consistent gain I'll stick to that. EDIT: Oh yeah, hit the 30k mark. Masked Marth get. I seem to be falling behind the curb around here. Everyone seems to be in the upper 30s. Gotta step it up.
  11. No, but thanks for calling me lazy. I want the entirety of the event to be shortened. One week instead of 2 and doubling the points to match the ratio. Doubling points and stamina cost may reduce tedium due to 2 runs per stamina bar but it doesn't at all help the players who struggle completing the trials. 2 failed trials on Lunatic on the final stage would be 678 points. That's 1356 points for the entire bar in 2 tries. A player with bad luck would have a terrible time with a system like that and when the team composition is as random as it is with each unit having buffed up stats there's no guarantee of a perfect run unless you have just the right units with SI.
  12. I'll be pulling on the Vantage banner solely for the purpose of Gordin for the Brave Bow+ (Well... Reinhardt would be nice too.) I have a Kagero, 2 Takumi's, a Faye and 2 Bride Cordelias BOTH of which are +ATK. And I'm building an Ultimate Matthew. So I'm good on Colorless units and ESPECIALLY archers. I may complain about my luck with Red Swords and Blue Mages, but this game has no problem dumping colorless giants on me. Heck, I'll take it.
  13. True... you're sacrificing a much more powerful unit by gimping her to buff status. But I don't know if I'll ever have one of the twins... Guess I'll make the decision after the trials. I'm putting both the 2 Cordelias and 2 Takumis I have to work. By the next trial I should have other options for *5s.
  14. I meant 7 days is plenty of time to grind out double points and plenty of time to grind SP and HM if you finish early. You can do the same thing now, it just takes literally double the time. For people that finish on the 5th-6th day have an extra just as those who finish on the 10th or 11th have a few extra days. It's just less... soul-leeching the other way.
  15. That being said... my Cordelia is +ATK/-HP and I have two of them... so... slap HP Seal on her, merge the two and call it a day. Or maybe... Keep them both seperate? One is Quadelia and 2nd is Buffdelia for Blade Emblem?
  16. Honestly I think they could have just doubled the points earned and cut the trial period down by a week. 7 days is plenty of time to grind out the points and even earn some SP/HM for your units. These 14 days are rough. I understand things like orbs and new units come into play with the 2 weeks and you could potentially pull a Lucina or something like that which would make later runs easier but newer or less lucky players are always going to have a hard time until they've played longer and eventually had their heyday. (Me for example. No Nino/Ryoma/Ike/Reinhardt/Nowi/Tharja (Good IE)/Linde/Effie/Hector)
  17. I get the idea that the Voting Gauntlet and Tempest Trials are something that won't be in the same month, meaning both of these are probably going to be Bi-Monthly and we won't see the trials again until August. I'll be more than ready when that time comes.
  18. Just 1k short of 30k. My last set of tempest runs have been horrible 280 and 339 failures with one 500+ win barely. Red mages just ruin my day because I have NO ANSWER to them. Lukas just dies immediately. No real answer to greens because Soren can't one round everything and even the blue mages catch me by surprise sometimes. I ran an all mage team with Soren/Tharja/B!Caeda/Sakura but Tharja and Caeda really feel the effects of being +SPD/-ATK and Tharja's only *4. Plus running all of them means that I'm losing 3 answers to Veronica and the only other mages I have are +ATK Raigh and Sophia for red, -ATK Robin/Reinhardt (*4)/Odin and a bunch of bad nature 3 star Ninos for green, oh yeah and a Neutral Cecilia. Tempest life is rough. Maybe if I powerlevel Masked Marth after getting her she'll make things easier. I'd be well into 30k if I wasn't failing so many runs and even winning the 5 stage lunatic is rough but feels pointless when I'm getting 300-500 from winning and even less when I lose which still happens.
  19. Ross, Lute, Ewan, Colm, Marisa, Joshua, Gerik, Myrrh. The Magvel banner has to have at least one of these characters in order for me to be interested. Or a Dawn Brigade banner. I'd pull for that in a heartbeat. Just make Micaiah a blue mage and not a red one so I don't have to expect her while pulling for Edward.
  20. ...I have a +ATK/-RES Cherche that I'm going to turn into a ball of death. Since Drag Back is part of her build I'm going to ask the question. With Hit and Run after you attack can you move in any of the 4 directions of your choosing or is it essentially the same as Drag Back with the one direction except without your opponent? It'll probably go on Cherche either way.
  21. Just shy of 25k. Marthcina is pretty much guaranteed at this point. Heck Quickened Pulse is starting to look pretty realistic.
  22. I know the +ATK is great but -SPD hurts so bad. The point of the build is quadding with massive firepower but with 33 speed she can't even double neutral Y!Tiki.
  23. Hmm... so. 1. I still have no powerful red sword infantry unit. Xander is cavalry. However I have potential powerhouses in *4 Chrom and Three *4 Marths, but who should I go for if that's what I go for with the next 20k feathers? Chrom is +SPD/-DEF. The 2 good Marths are +ATK/-DEF and +SPD/-RES. Both are Falchion users so I'm not sure what to go for. Brave Sword Chrom is great but that's a waste of his Boon, Marth is all around good but I have no Renewal or Fury to work with right now. My only other choices are +ATK/-SPD Hana and Lloyd. Neither of which I'll blow 20k feathers on. 2. Is it worth it to spend 20k feathers on Chrom or Marth when *5 Marthcina will fall into my possession and fill the role of both *5 Sword Infantry and Falchion user? How does neutral Lucina hold up against Marth/Chrom with the aformentioned boon/banes? 3. I've come to the realization that my *5 Cain is worthless as a unit. He served me well enough back when I didn't have many resources but he's +SPD/-ATK and he can't hurt anything, not even greens. He dies surprisingly easy despite that and has now been invalidated by Xander for even cavalry teams. In the Trials when I have almost no one left to deploy I still don't deploy him as he does nothing but meatshield and die. I'm prepared to SI him. That begs the question, Who wants a Brave Sword+? WoM3 is nice but I can live with 2 and I don't know when I'll see a Brave Sword+ again so who benefits from it? I have Chrom and Hana but Chrom is +SPD/-DEF and Hana is +ATK/-SPD which is sub-optimal for the both of them. My other Hana is also neutral so they're out. I don't even have to have the units, just give me some viable Brave Sword+ units that will use it better than this guy. 4. My Bride Caeda is +SPD/-ATK... -ATK seems to be a reccuring theme with my blue mages... M!Robin... Odin, Reinhardt (*4!) and now B!Caeda. I currently have only Ursula as a Blue Mage and she's underwhelming without Cavalry Buffs or Blarblade+ so I'm determined to make this girl work. What should I give her? Death Blow 3? Attack +3? Keep ATK/RES +2? Her speed is incredible at 40 but that missing 4 attack is heartbreaking, please help me help her. 5. There's a Clair sitting in my barracks. It has interested me for a while and I don't know what to do with her. I have Hinoka and Catria so she's not getting any action. Who wants hit and run? What unit is that better on than something else? Suggestions?
  24. Lord Hector: Axe infantry with Wolf Beil effective against Cavalry and Armors. Greil: Red/Green Infantry with Ragnell or Urvan. Linus: Axe Infantry with Tomahawk, built in Distant Counter but SI-able. Ashnard: Sword Flier with Iote Shield and Gurgant. For Mages I don't know... probably Brunnya as a Blue Mage with Fimbulvetr. But she probably competes with Limstella for that tome.
