  1. Is it a good idea to rate her higher for carrying Celerity over to the GMs?
  2. Snipers have better base combat stats (in almost every single stat), higher bow rank, and innate +5 accuracy/critical. All Horsemen have are +2 movement and E swords.
  3. I like both K-pop and black metal, is anything wrong with that?
  4. I was bored so I used the information from the website to make a full list of support triangles possible in different games of the FE series. I only did this in the games where you have to manually activate the support (and besides PoR, work towards it consciously), because with games like FESD, though you can have several characters returning supports to each other, it's not really a triangle per se and not limited in any way (you can have your Midia/Boah/Dolph/Macellan/Tomas, though not all of them return supports as well as give them). There may be some I left out by accident or being inattentive, but I think it should be it. 5. 7/10, +1 point bias Great combat for a while, instant transformation. Can shove quite a lot of people, can't remember if she can shove any of the fliers.
  6. None of the mages can last a full enemy phase besides Rishel (even then, Rishel will be ignored on EP because he has Gale and OHKOs), it's not just Maruju. I'd say Meriah's Starlight is the worst Prf tome. Its boost to Avoid is unnecessary, because you don't want to gamble with dodging, and its weight of 12 leaves you vulnerable to being doubled by faster enemies. Maruju has all the time in the world to gain levels and promote with the first Mage proof you get. Wundergust makes him a great armour killer for a while (not that one is terribly needed with Zeek and the Estocs around), and he wants one of those two early Sylpheed tomes, which he appreciates more than Alicia does (since she's 1-rounding everything with Brenthunder anyway). Maruju has the same defensive parameters as Alicia so I have no idea what you're talking about there. Norton is stuck with 3 mov until promotion and is swordlocked even after he gets on a horse, so I don't think him to be anywhere as good. They have pretty much identical bases and growths. Attrom has better supports (you're probably not deploying Yuni unless there are chests to open, like in the one map AquiIae mentioned) and durability (thanks to Sol), so he's not entirely defenceless against Xeno's pros, availability being the main of them. Still, both Xeno and Attrom face stiff competition for a deployment slot on and one of the earliest Hero proofs, assuming Xeno takes the first Holmes route. Neither of them gets Prf weapons, unlike the Swordmasters you get.
  7. 5/10 Joins underlevelled when you already have trained characters from the prologue, and his speed is inadequate for him to perform any function besides chipping with arrows.
  8. I don't know, I think the game as such is pretty hard too. What with all those hit rates, especially if you try to steal an enemy's weapon. What really pisses me off about it is all that Danc and Swap and whatnot.
  9. I can imagine your surprise in the further Dawn Brigade chapters.
  10. I would like to use this thread as an opportunity to ask if anybody knows how likely Ilyana's skill (hell, and Shinon's opposite) is to activate. It's saved her a couple times on my runs, but so did Miracle for Mist, and if it's anywhere as likely as that, then it's not something you'd rely on.
  11. Exeggutor has far better offensive stats, and you probably should evolve your freshly caught Exeggcute right away to make use of them. Barrage and Bullet Seed are definitely poor moves to be using. It learns Wood Hammer well before the E4, and can be taught Seed Bomb a little earlier with a Heart Scale. Not getting Psychic or Giga Drain until postgame is pretty bad, but you can always teach it Solarbeam or Hyper Beam (the former is perfect for facing Poliwrath), both purchasable in Goldenrod. I'd say it's good in Mid.
  12. 10/10 essential unit. She could even take on Gharnef with Starlight if nobody else is capable.
  13. Females only. You can do one of those in just about any games, but in FE8 you have just the right resources for it. The chapter where Natasha joins will probably be the hardest if you want to save all the villages.
  14. Thief only run through FE6
  15. You'd have to buy a Japanese 3NDS too, though.
  16. I wonder if you can keep the Japanese voices on in the port.
  17. Xeno learns it at lv. 20 and mine is at a lower level on my current run, so I'll see if I can check how his combat is affected by fighting the same monster before and after the level-up. Are there no japanese wikis on this game's mechanics anywhere? Because we're pretty much in the dark about calculating stuff.
  18. They're essentially the same character, except Xeno wins in availability, has extended movement in a few maps and is better at fighting monsters later on (has anybody figured out the exact boost Anti-Evil gives?). However, Attrom has that 15% Renee support, which is better than what Xeno gets.
  19. Didn't some people basically agree that since Roy has to seize every map and he can't properly fight with his base stats, he's actually detrimental to efficiency (since you have to carry and drop him, and whatnot)? That is, a character being necessary for something treated as a con and not a pro.
  20. I was not saying playing a fighting game is memorisation of combos, God forbid. Though of course it's advisable that you know how to punish an attack or how to make the most out of a launcher, if applicable. I'm saying skill in a fighting game is all about reaction to stimuli you've grown accustomed to through constant reinforcement, hence the Pavlov's dog comparison I made earlier. If anything, it's not you playing the fighter, it's the fighter that's using your ability to react, make judgment based on other players you played and your opponent's level, and so forth. Your decision to do something in a fighting game is not a decision in the narrow sense of the word, it's a developed reaction to a stimulus. I'm by no means an expert on this but I'm told martial arts at their highest level also demand such conditioned responding, hence why most if not all of them are involved in Eastern spiritual practices. Actually, I do think it's often just that, but it depends on what music and what musicians we're speaking of. Rock guitar virtuosos? Wankery at its most absurd. It's good that you mention the word 'feel' though, because that's what distinguishes music from, say, fighting games and makes it such an appealing medium that's been around since... as long as humankind has been around, even earlier maybe? Well, do you? You don't seem to be speaking from experience either based on how you phrase your ideas alone, speaking on behalf of some group of players who you claim to be way better than you, so whatever experience you do possess is clearly insufficient to match their prowess. If you base your information on what you were told, then, firstly, that's not your knowledge or your experience, and second, the information you pass off as your experience could be any guy's fiction. For example, I could say I need only 4 turns to clear a certain chapters thanks to my psych powers and while somebody who struggles to clear the same chapter in 15 turns might be tempted to believe me, if I try to pull off the same thing on these forums nobody will trust me. I was part of a very strong, competitive Tekken community many years back, so I know what a high level fighter player is and what means they take to get to that level of proficiency. If I come to these forums looking for help with a problematic chapter of some sort, the advice I will get is to think carefully, position the characters right, move them with acute accuracy, plan ahead and think what I'll be doing next turn and the one after that, etc. If I can't pull off a certain move, I will just be reminded that I must repeat a few thousands times more until I can reproduce it with ease each time. On a macro level, if I'm having trouble facing a certain character, the expected advice will be to keep playing that character until I am able to react accordingly to their actions, learn how to pressure, etc.
  21. So how good is Jeigan if reclassed into Bishop on the first opportunity?
  22. 9/10 Doesn't require any babying in the Prologue to perform well beginning with Chapter 1 (though a level wouldn't hurt, but hasn't he got like 1 map?). Lance rank enables him to be a great Cavalier, or he could become a Hunter or a Pirate. No class limits makes him swell.
  23. That about explains it, and pretty much affirms what I said earlier. Constant repetition taken to ludicrous proportions, time you could've been spending in the gym or something.
