No, TF2 wasn't always free. But its micro-transaction system did not exist when the game was paid. The only reason it exists is because the game went F2P. There really aren't any differences between a premium player and an F2P player. Which was the point I was trying to make. Valve offers incentives to pay a few dollars and upgrade to premium and have access to things that do not affect gameplay. You can't buy anything that will drastically change the game you are playing. And that in itself is what the F2P model should be based on. No difference in gameplay. Sure, he doesn't have Valve's following, but if he's looking for the different types of F2P models are the best, I still feel like Valve's current model is the best out there among other F2P games regardless as TF2's past as a paid game.

See TF2. Valve, got as close to perfect with the F2P model as far as I'm concerned with TF2. "F2P" with online pass required is completely and utter fabricated restrictions. Pay2Win is yet another completely unnacceptable model for F2P games. Although there are a bunch of varying types of the F2P model, very few of them actually work. Micro-transactions should be purely cosmetic and offer now difference on gameplay than what is available to everyone else, IMO.

The only legendaries I've used have been Heatran, Terrakion, and Victini. I personally steer clear of Ubers since I'm not a fan of that metagame. I try to stay away from legendaries in general, but sometimes I need that specific moveset or typing, or something that's good at scarfing.

This is my new favorite simulator game. GOTY hype. By the way, I'm being serious. I'm actually looking forward to this/

I *MIGHT* be able to get one of my friends to participate in this. However I won't be able to talk to him about it until tomorrow evening since I fly back to University tomorrow and I'll be travelling from 5AM PST to 6PM EST. He's a pretty competent battler for sure.

Some guy was being a sore loser once and said I only won because I was being "unoriginal" with my team comp. Crawdaunt, Florges, Roserade, MegaManectric. While his team was Aegislash, Talonflame, MegaLucario, Tyranitar, Dragonite, and Quagsire. People on Showdown are just afraid of losing and instead of finding flaws in their teams or the way they play, they project it on the opponent.

The soundtrack was one of the few good things about this game...

You're taking that out of context. We're talking about the Pokemon section here at SF, not showdown. I feel as if the other forumites are pretty capable in their own hands. Whatever random team you may face on showdown is a completely different story. Does the EU E-Shop have Tuesday as it's normal maintenance day where they put up the new content? If so, and it's Tuesday and not Thursday like NA's would it be semi-reasonable to conclude that NA should get pokebank this Thursday?

It may be that there really just isn't all that much to talk about right now. The game has been out for close to 4 months, and there still isn't any info on pokebank. I guess competitive discussion is always open since that's pretty open ended, but I feel like for the most part people know what they're doing and don't need the counsel. GameFAQs is cancer and should be avoided for discussion, imo...

I will agree that it was a misplay after the fact, but I did not know the Rotom's speed investment considering it made the switch-in. Adamant 252SPE Crawdaunt outspeeds 0SPE Rotom-W by 1. I was trying to be safe. Yes, you're right, I could have discerned that it had physical bulk by the damage but at the time I was mainly looking at the damage for Aqua Jet. I saw the range and I took confidence in the fact that I had a pretty forgivable range which was an oversight on my end. However, I do not believe the oversights are terribly grave. I also do not see the point in contesting my claim of a friendly game. This event is for fun. We're not doing this to see who is a better battler or who can achieve the highest rank on showdown's ladder. Did I go into the battle with intents to win? Yes. Would I have been upset if it lost? No. Despite Crawdaunt failing to knock out Rotom-W with the Aqua Jet, I feel like I played a solid match and so did Athena. I was satisfied with it regardless. I apologize if my tone is confrontational and defensive, and I concede my mistakes but I feel my justification is enough.

You had me worried there, Athena, I didn't want to rely on Stone Miss to have to seal the battle :P Regardless, good game. I just wish that spectator wasn't there criticizing my every play.
