Panette is really strong, she made me bench Boucheron. She has enough build to wield many axes, good dex. Maybe a bit low on speed, but her skill is nice (+10 crit is not full HP). But...on the other side, S rank axes are really heavy! Her speed would be affected and make her even more slower.

Berserker is just a terrible class here. Loses to Warrior on nearly everything, her good dex is gimped by being a berserker. What’s good about a nat 40% growth in Dex when it caps super low? Spd is awful to nat 25% plus a berserker’s 10% with a base 13 and a cap of 20.

Yeah! I'm also sad by this point, and I was thinking of talking about here somewhere on this forum. But, actually, except from their starting classes, no unit have a special outfit. Once you change their class, they'll always stay with the generic sad outfit, with color variations. It's really sad, if you want to have unique looking unit, you have to stay with the pre-promoted ones (or the royals).

(Mention to the Hero class, which was my favorite in other games, but I found it very ugly here, ahah. Too sad when they have one of the best skill)

I think Bucheron has a unique Berserker outfit, generic berserkers have their clothes open while Bucheron doesn’t.

  3. I will say that as they go on later in the game, you will see Elwind to mess up your fliers and it seems every map has at least on Elthunder. So keep an eye out for that. Swordmaster and Griffons are the bane of your existence as they can only be double by themselves. Halberdier is a swordmaster hard counter do to pincer attack and you will want a power bow user all the time. You will occasionally see some Brave weapons in the mix.

  4. Well my new best unit is the horribly over-grinded Anna. A Royal Knight with everything but Str capped rocking both Hp/Lck +8 and Lifesphere along with Byleth. I’m pretty sure +20 is the cap you can buff a stat by. Like if I try to have Anna with both Lck +10, Hp/Lck +8 and Eirika (who should give 10 Lck) Anna only gets +20 to her Lck capping at 53.

  5. Okay, for everyone playing let’s see how everyone stacks up. Who are your best, worst and most disappointing units so far?

Mine are- (disclaimer I’m playing normal with a lot of grinding)

Best: If going by stat ratings it would be Framme sitting at 234, she has capped everything but Hp, Str and Mag. In terms of actual combat usefulness it would be Alfred, he can pretty much handle everything.

Disappointing: Timerra. I really expected her to do way better. Her damage and spd are middling and she just can’t confirm a kill without procing sandstorm.

Worst: Sadly Chloe and Etie have been dead weight for me.

As I understand lower difficulties allow you to do skirmishes and gather ressources? Which benefits from the country donations? So since you can´t grind on maddening it´s probably not worth doing it, even with the post battle exploration?

The S ranked Greatlance, S ranked Arts and S ranked Bow are all locked behind donations.

So about heavy weaponry. Is there actually...a point to it?

Okay, so you can smash enemies a tile away and do an extra bit of damage. Okay. But you can't double attack and the enemy always attacks first, I believe even doing both of their attacks first if they double you. So it seems to me its got a very situational advantage and crippling drawbacks.

They have really high might, so really good if you can't double. Like a Sliver Sword has 12 might while a Sliver Blade has 24.

  8. Okay yes for those who want to grind Linage and Mentorship stack for 40% more exp.

Does anyone fully understand the proficiency system ?

I guess blue Prf are innate and white one gained via things like emblems, current class.

For example, Alfred has a blue Lance and a white Sword. Why does he have a Sword Prf ? My Marth didn't give it to him.

Same for Chloé and her Staff Prf.

Does anyone know ? Is it given to you so you can promote easily with those characters ?

If so, why give Clanne Sword Prf lol ? Without emblems Prf, he cannot promote.

The blue is their natural Prf, meaning that if they are in a class that uses that weapon it's one rank higher. Like Warrior only has A Axe and C Bow but if you make Anna one (she has a blue bow Prf) she will have A Axe and B Bow instead.

Alfred and Clanne have Sword Prf so they can promote, Alfred needs Lance and Sword for Avenir and Tome/Sword for Clanne lets him be a Mage Knight.

Alright then. Also, I guess that was supposed to be without.

Anyways, is it just me, or are the aggro lines in this game frigging useless???

Yes, my bad it was without. The aggro line when moving show you are in that enemy's ranged but it's not always who they are gonna attack.

I do have a question, does anyone know if Linage stacks with Mentorship and if Mentorship stacks with itself?

Nope. According to what I've been seeing on TVTrope's spoiler thread, Zephia wanted kids with him to have her own family though, since it seems that her crazy magic killed whatever little family she had. For some reason it didn't seem to work out, but she treats her underlings (Griss, Marni, Mauvier, and Veyle) like a twisted family of sorts.

So my throw away joke of Sombron wanting kids with her was actually true but reversed? Well shit.

    Spoiler

If Zephia wanted kids I would oblige but no.
