Don't remerber it being rectified, but have you guys thought of a solution to the route exclusive characters joining when there's a convergance(in regards to the level disparity that would be present), without mucking up the support library? Or did you guys figure out a method to make the autolevel more accurate or something?
  2. Yeah dragon hunter just doesnt fit. Sojourner just doesnt scream or hint to badassery imo. While hunter does correlate her abilities to catching game, it doesn't have to constrain it to that. Rebecca is clearly a sniper and perfectly relates to her combat abilities__ im assuming this is a serious reply__ same with louise. Anyways im thinking Swiftblade now... pretend that the underscores are hyphens to seperate my response to your question as I JUST saw the hyphen key on my phone.

So Sojourner suggests dragon slaying badass more than a hunter?The Ike reference was to show the vague connection between the name and the function of the class.Regardless, Lyn is a nomad, and last time I checked hunting and gathering is in their skill set. Hunter because it connects with her current social status and can coincide with her combat abilities. I'm not vouching for hunter as it's the only choice, but your reasons to dismiss it are not ?sufficient? .
  4. If she doesn't hunt anything, starvation would be quite imminent. Considering Lyn has joined the Kutolah, her skills, it wouldn't be farfetched to call her some variant of hunter. It's as relevant if not more as calling Ike a Ranger.

  7. Nergal's battle has a generic dark druid battle pallete. Going into Nightmare reveals he has data for a specific pallete for his class except some fool assigned it to his unpromoted class.
  8. My only question is if the rechanged classes agree with the characters' battle palette? If they did not before, did you edit the palette so that it looks applicable and not effed up?
  9. Considering people restart when a character dies, I'm not sure if Jaffar dissapearing from the Achievement Screen when Angel of Life is unlocked is noted. I bet this was noted and I missed it.
  10. There's your mistake. The imported data takes up FAR more than ONE byte. Look at Arch's tutorial for better clarification. In his tut. notice in the second spoiler pic, where the FF are and in bunches, those tend to be free space( at least in the DD0000 and onwards up to some limit. If you downloaded FeEditor Adv, IIRC it should have some file that tells you where free space in an unaltered FE ROM is.) Arch's tutorial covers it quite well so just read, understand and utilize the info to correct your error(s).
  11. Nice and fresh, but I just dislike what the weapon icons are resting on, the steel colored background. I just dislike the fact that it was trimmed and made slimmer( the physical weapons look compatible), but the Magic Icons IMO just don't blend well. The Wind Icon on the other hand just looks so beastly that I can put up with the other "irritants" . Either way it's a nice improvement; just have issues on the way the magic elements are set upon the steel background shape, but the staff fits fine with the new shape. Overall, I like.

    FE8 Hack

    Open up the Class Editor in Note Pad Go to where it says Battle Animation pointer and change what's there so it says Battle Animation Pointer 52 4 NEHU NULL Close the file and try the module, it should work and now lacks the drop box.
  13. It wasn't a pallete issue, it was my mistake unless you tried to assign a pallet that would go with the animation in which case it's out of my area of knowledge to say anything. I played to the end of the current patch and enjoyed it. I do question if Sai is supposed to be like an Est archetype if any at all.
  14. I thought it was odd, so more than likely it's my fault. I think it may be because i replaced the default NT animation with the fixed one, other than that Nvm, I know what I did, I placed his promoted pallet as his unpromoted and changed the characteristics of his class to promoted so it looks unchanged. Sorry for the false alarm.
  15. The question was because I was just checking how to promote Anakin manually, I'm on Ch. 18 so I'll find out later. About the giltch, I tested it with Kelik and Shon, also regarding Shon, his class is really weird. Everytime I move him, it sounds like a foot soldier moving instead of horse gallopping sound effects. It just bugs me but you may know this already and don't care/intentional in which case ignore it. Edit- Ch 18, I visit the starting village and the civilian says he's going to give me a "...staff. It can protect with a magical barrier." What I do get is 5k Gold and a Celestial Ring. Edit 2- Why is Anakin's Pallet oh so incomplete? It would be one of the first ones done since it is a mandatory promotion. The animation itself is pretty good and the critical fits.
  16. Is Anakin's promo made in v4.6? I doubt it, but am asking out of curiosity. Edit- in Ch 17, waiting in Siegfried's cell brings up "The Nothung was pilfered", just something minor to address.
  17. I hacked it since I saw progress and wanted to see what kinds of unfinished things are present which IMO people get done quick, like battle pallets. That and my laptop was jacked and I lost everything and now have to start all over in regaining my files, not even counting school work. And Noah is not supposed to be promoted? Wow, that kinda sucks since I enjoy Mercs and Heroes; that's fine since it is your intention. shadowofchaos has already addres this, which is just a matter of replacing the default NT Bow animation with the fix using Feditor Adv. Just thought it was odd that he was missing that, it's no biggie. Sure.
  18. Since work is being continued, here are some things that I have found that need fixing. Noah has a messed up promoted pallett. Strom shows no battle animations when using bows as a Nomad Trooper( if you don't get this problem then it's probably my fault) Arthur hs a generic pallet for his promoted class, either that or it's Lucius's. There is a boss with 20 strength as a Fighter who lacks blinking animations, I don't remember if he has speaking animations though. I believe he had blond hair and was in part 1. Edit, The problem on Storm occurs when I use the Short Bow, I just checked this on Haas and it stilll occurs. If this does not happen to you, then it's probably my fault.

  20. The screen shot is not an error on the developers part. It's the way the game is programmed that initiates the quote to appear when first initiating battle. My guess is you attacked with Eliwood playing the special quote. Leaving the standard quote unused until the bandit gets healed which counts as a "battle" thus triggering the quote to appear.
  21. YES IT DOES! Wow, this was just what I was looking for, I searched for so damn long and couldn't find out, you seriously saved me sanity. On a related note, what keywords did you use when searching for this, your method in finding this if it doesn't take too much effort on your part would be appreciated? When I meant find in my previous post, I was referring to VBA's feature to search for cheats, not Online searching which did not work out. Edit-- In VBA these codes utilize the "Code" option instead of CB or Gameshark. Just so other people know.
  22. The Shaver issue was already addressed before he released the patch. Something about FEditor not liking the animation so it's being worked on. Wil is pretty useful when he crits half the time with Killer Bow so he's not that bad, IMO Heath is less useful than Wil.
  23. Are there codes for the Japanese version? It's the only one I've been unable to find, and I don't know how to make/find codes.
