  1. I'm genuinely did this with Camilla and I instantly knew that the series will never grow out of it.
  2. Jade is honestly an little bit on the underwhelming side; but not to the point where she's an instant bench. She might work out better as an Great Knight or an Warrior than as an axe general
  3. Honestly, an playable knight that's been blessed with an insane amount of invulnerability by some random war god wouldn't be too out of place. Yeah, but Pokemon more or less had an low bar for the story; except for Gen V and the antics of Team Magma
  4. Honestly, Diamond was kind of boring in comparison to everything else that I've played. Might have had something to do with the fact that this was my first game in the series and Cyrus was fucking stoned out of his mind.
  5. With the sole exception of Fates, most of the recent games have actually been pretty generous with the three main types of anima magic by giving at least three different tiers of them. 3 Houses is an bit an outlier because each character can only learn an handful of specific spells that's mainly from 2 or 3 different elements. Engage has the same deal with Awakening with the very notable absence of dark magic.
  6. Unless you're deadset on giving each school of elemental magic an unique but viable set of skills, people are going to flock to whoever's the fastest and the ones that deal the highest amount of damage. And it's kind of hard to justify 2 magicians attacking each other since they're usually glass cannons who are supposed to more or less immune to magic
  7. Honestly, I liked Amber's support conversations an lot more than his initial role on the battlefield. Sure, he can dive with Ike's ultimate move, but an lot of people can pull it off an lot better than he can. The one good thing that I can say about when he joins is that he comes with an free killer lance. Of course, it shouldn't be that hard of an decision on who to give it to.
  8. I'm kind of hoping that it'll include an decent single-player campaign. Sure, Ultimate and the fourth game were great; but there's only so far you can go with online gameplay without it coming off as another retool of the fourth game
  9. As long as you understand how algebra and probability works, you'll be fine, for the most part
  10. An pulse-Doppler radar should pick up something that's as larger as an flying car. Only snag is that you have to set it to track slow-moving objects
  11. Yeah, it kind of is. Either you grind out a few levels or just fight in an wedge and give your Ridersbane to someone else
  12. Either some variant of colonialism or someone keeps on fighting an hopeless war because of honor or vengeance. Or an new magitech society pops up
  13. Honestly, I'm half-convinced that it'll be as one-sided as this But it will be an fun idea, regardless.
  14. There's actually an anime about this, but I didn't catch the name of it
  15. So guys, I just noticed something weird about Scarlet Blaze. I killed Jeralt again (unintentionally, but I'm rolling with it) and got this scene. Note that Randolph dies, his sister is incredibly distraught about it in her next appearance within the base camp. But here's where things get weird, I'm not sure if it's an random oversight or whatever; but some throwaway lines here and there implies that he's still alive and is stationed at that Imperial fortress while the Count of Military Affairs was redeployed to the western half of the Kingdom. This Now, I'm not really at that specific fight, yet; but for all intents and purposes, Randolph should be dead for quite an while, right?
  16. Well, the game has an glaring shortage of decent swordsmen who can actually stay alive and Diamant filled that niche in Hard Mode. For some reason, I just handed him an Armorslayer, a Steel Sword, and an Hand Axe; and just watched him go to town on whatever challenged him. Sure, he's mainly stays alive due to Sol and his higher than average health pool. But other than that, he's essentially an Hero who just sucks against mages and has trouble routinely killing things in one round (but they do get maimed pretty badly in comparison to Alfred's performance)
  17. So far, most of Zelkov's are kind of entertaining. Etie is an bit of an bitch. Yunaka is so paranoid that it actually undermines the actual reason why she's doing it. The only great ones that I've seen is between Pandero and his sister, and the ones between Fogado and his retainers
  18. Well, it's been done with Path of Radiance where the kids mentioned that one of the merchants taught them how to use an staff or just loaned them one of Rhys was mauled to death by brigands. It's not exactly an hard thing to do if they just went back to voiceless text boxes. But with the animated cutscenes... That's kind of weird, tbh.
  19. You know, back in the day, the absence of these was actually justifiable from the developers' perspective. But since all this stuff is just some extra dialogue trees; there's hardly any reason for them to expand upon the story, like this. By the end of the day, the only people who are still around are the lords and their closest retainers, barring the occasional new arrival
  20. Life is kind of weird, sometimes. But hey, if shit happens, shit happens
  21. I honestly forgot about the lottery, for some reason. Which is kind of funny, considering how much random gems that I got from it
  22. Well the background changes between 3 or 4 different biomes and one of them has the monastery in the background, which is an nice touch.
  23. Yeah, it's an pain in the ass to keep buying multiple silver weapons so I can have this Silver Naginata to help cheese Lunatic Birthright. But in this day and age, I'm not exactly sure if you can reliably farm materials online; but there is the arena, though. But while this is technically true, it doesn't negate the fact that money isn't as easy to farm unless you know what you're doing. Unless, of course, you've brought the DLC while it was available.
  24. Well, forging is an option; unless, you know, you're playing Conquest
  25. It's kind of funny, in an way. Like you're initially stuck with 4 movement and you're usually capped at 5 or 6. Plus, the movement costs between infantry and cavalry are the same across the board in Engage as opposed to the usual "ok, you can have more movement points; but you can't rush through most types of terrain with it" deal. Of course, there isn't that big of difference between 5 or 6 mov unless you're drawing people in or just trying to get the drop on them. There's also Sigurd with an mage knight for the extra movement, but I'm not exactly sure if his boosts would actually work with the Flame Lance, though. Celica gives your mage knight and extra two tiles to warp to with Warp Ragnarok. But as far as the Emblems catering specifically to Mage Knights, I'm not sure if there are any more of them. Except for the twins, but mainly with the Flame Lance and the Wind Sword if you want an alternative to the tomes
