  1. It basically exaggerates all of the game's inherent flaws to a silly degree, to the point normal interactions feel super awkward and full of guesses. Takes the reaction factor almost completely off the table, and this is where bad players thrive. They can "pressure" you for free and then mash panic options like crazy... or just anything, really. I play completely off of reaction, and I lose to players I'd never lose to offline (hell, I proved it). You can call it an ego thing, but it gets tiring. It gets really tiring losing to these god awful players. It's just common sense, and it grinds on your sanity at some point. If you're not that serious into it, or your character, or playstyle allows it (ie playing "lame"), then wifi might be tolerable... at best. You realise the better you get at the game, the more wifi fucks you over. I used to be fine, or at least neutral to it when the game came out, but it's clear I didn't know any better. And for the record, I use Joycons as well.
  2. If you love Smash, and particularly Smash Ultimate, you should do yourself a favour and quit. It's fucking garbage. It's literally the worst thing that could happen to the game, and a death sentence to your passion and love for the game. It turns it into something completely awful and unrecognizable. I would know, because I was stuck with it for well over a year during quarantine (aka "The Wifi Era"). That alone killed any passion and confidence I ever had as a player. Honestly, you're better off practicing by yourself or even against CPUs (who at least know how to vary a some of their options). Hell, even nothing is better. If I could go back to 2020, I'd choose nothing. Nothing is better than playing Ultimate online. I need to get this off my chest. I suffered for too long putting up with it, if only for the sake of doing something I've loved for years and will continue to do so- but wifi isn't taking me down with it.
  3. I don't feel like paying 20 US$ am I done for??
  4. Cancelled my online subscription last week. : D
  5. He's the single reason Beaststars is worth rewatching in English.
  6. Alice, Bandana Dee and Shovel Knight. I rest my case.
  7. Online is awful is you really want to improve or have some form of competitive spirit. When you start out, it's probably passable, since you don't have a real standard to begin with. But as someone that got stuck with it through all of 2020, it was an experience that almost killed my passion for the game.
  8. I was thinking if feeling nervous around people you're attracted to is a normal thing, or just society conditioning. Like, is it your natural feeling to feel uneasy, like you could mess up your chances with this person? Or is it a society thing to idolize attractive people so you feel unworthy of them and thereby nervous to be around them? If really attractive people are humans just like you and me, then why is it such a big deal? Reproduction is so natural and primal, it makes no sense to me you'd feel so intimidated by them that you won't even try to do anything.
  9. I do know of Slippi, but it's also only based on Maylay. Melee players are currently doing really good, and it's a Golden Era to be or become a Melee player. I never got hooked into Melee, and the closest thing (beyond that short 2013 phase) is liking Skull Kid in Beyond Melee (another mod).
  10. I don't get people (namely chicks; this is very much a chick thing) when they say "don't be desperate", or "don't be needy". What does that even mean? How is it unnattractive? I get that for chicks, it's unnattractive for a guy, since it basically shows weakness (they want a STRONG male). But as a guy? I'd be a delighted for a chick to be desperate for me. It's hot. Why wouldn't I want that? It means she wants me. How is that bad, in any capacity? okay, granted she's hot, or at the very least I'm attracted to her.
  11. Just as the guy with the weird pink tuxedo guy avatar, I do agree with him. You're downplaying the massive age gap. It has nothing to do with "power dynamics". I could careless if one was a teacher but it's only like a 5 year difference at worst (ie with Byleth). Hannenman has close to a 40 year age gap on a lot of them. It looks really weird, especially considering it's just a videogame... who's even into that? Yeah, some weird people, but that's like a very small minority. It's not like Hannenman is even particularly attractive. And again, Gunther being able to support Corrin isn't any less weird or uncomfterble. I don't think anyone denied that or said it's perfectly fine.
  12. He's a nice guy. He's so badass, easily one of the best Naruto characters. They also kind of make a cute pair, if you ask me:
  13. I was willing to give someone like Byleth a pass, but dude's like 30+ years over most of them. It's weird as hell, even taking the "well it's a videogame based on the middle ages" excuse.
  14. Another banger. These Koreans really know how to make Netflix shows, let alone zombie ones. Every episode got me hooked. I was so glad every episode was almost an hour long, and 12 whole episodes to boot. Most of the characters were likeable and memorable, and you really didn't want them to die. Even the fight scenes were fcken cool, which you wouldn't expect from a zombie show (let alone one with teens). They were action movie level.
  15. I agree, she's definitely more likeable, and I really enjoyed how Sam's mother actually bothered to reach out to her on so many ocassions. You can see her slowly melting away at that facade, and she's definitely improving, and as is Robbie. And Sam really pushed the envelope a couple of times, even if Tori was no longer the aggressor. And talking about redeeming psychopaths, you borderline feel bad how Terry Silver played him towards the end.
  16. I like how a virtually high Harry Potter somehow manages to convince a professor of following him to a trip outside instead of getting punished.
  17. Loved it. Still love it, and I remember why. Everything about it feels so pleasant, from the dark overtones, the actual dark cinematography (everything looks more "depressing"), the music really helps, and I really like how the characters interact like an actual teen movie with their little stories and scenes. Harry's more funny here than in the others, for some reason. Snape is somehow even more likeable in this movie in particular. Professor Slughorn is a great teacher, and I wish I had such a nice professor. He invites his students over for dinner, he's very passionate about his craft, somewhat naive and easy to get along with. I actually kind of feel Harry is sort of a dick for taking advantage of his good nature.
  18. I started to realise, there's not a single moment I don't feel content when I eat food. And lately, it's like I'm getting a particular attatchment towards ramen (must be a Naruto phase). Even thinking about the "cheap" ones makes me feel joyful, and I really like the super red-coloured ones that are spicy. I also ran into one of those no-bake-cake videos, and I'm really excited into making one of those. And so, I realise, my life would definitely be of the utmost contentment were I to have access to the food I want.
  19. I barely play that mode for the 3 orbs, never had any idea there was even such a ranking over that.
