  1. (glad to see someone else noticed the 2 day 21s) Depression in a human form. At least she isn’t at annoying as Bernie. Until the time-skip, that is. After that she’s pretty good. Skill Levels: Boons: Sword E+, Faith D+, Riding E, Flying E. Budding Talent in Lances. Bane in Brawling and Armor. Judging from her Weapon Ranks, you’d think she is either a Holy Knight or a Falcon. Holy Knight sucks. Falcon doesn’t jive with her, either. Abilities: Animal Friend is… an odd one. Depending on your positioning skills, it’s either Renewal or nothing. Speaking of Renewal, she gets the Battalion form at C Authority. Arts: Marianne get 2 Arts, one from rank (Soulblade at C+ Sword) and one from a Talent (Frozen Lance). Both are quite good, but Frozen Lance is slightly better. Spells: You could say her Reason is quite frosty (Kill me): Blizzard (D), Thoron (C), Cutting Gale (B), and Fimbulvetr (A). Pretty good list that. As for Faith: Heal, Nosferatu, Physic (C), Silence (B), and Aura (A). Silence is decent utility, and Physic is Physic. Attack Faith skills are quite meh, so Aura gets no honorable mention. Stats: 11+50% Magic is solid. 6+40% Dexterity and 7+40% Speed and Skill is passable. 5+20% Strength doesn’t matter. 23+35% Hp and 4+15(!)% Defense… keep her well away from anything Physical. Classes: Beginner- Monk Intermediate- Mage for Fiendish Blow then Priest for extra Healing Advanced- Bishop for the Healing Master- Ew. Don’t. But if you absolutely must, then Dark Knight or Gremory. Holy Knight only helps Nosferatu and Aura, while Dark Knight boosts all 4 of her Reason Spells and Gremory helps with those looooong battles. The Verdict Not as good of a healer as Mercedes, but is also a better Combatant. The Blutgang is fairly weak for a Relic, and Beast Fang is Ok. Doesn’t really have good Faith utility, but what she has is good enough. All said, I’d rate her 7/10.
  2. A crazy old man who lived in my neighborhood handed out hardtack. Homemade hardtack. He always was weird.
  3. She would be more like an adult if she didn’t attack anyone who she perceived as insulting her. Seriously, chill out! Skill Levels: Boons: Reason (D), Faith (E+), Authority (E+). Budding Talent in Swords. Banes: Sword, Lance, Axe, Armor. Her Boons suites her growths very well. Abilities: Mastermind will cause her to swiftly gain Skill Ranks, assuming you do some Auxiliary Battles. Battalion Desperation isn’t exactly useful, but it may come in handy against slow enemies like Armors (but why would she be taking damage from those?) Arts: Like several other mages, she only gets 1 Art, and that comes from her Talent. Soulblade is good for Nukes, but here’s the thing: Soulblade scales off Resistance. Lysithea has bad Res. She would’ve been better served with Hexblade, but it’s still decent. Spells: Talk about a loaded list! Lysithea has quite a bit of utility and Nuking potential. Miasma (at D Reason) and Hades (A) are her standard damage dealers. Swarm (D+) is to help doubling/avoiding doubling and Luna (C) is for dealing with Res tanks. And we all know what Dark Spikes (B) is for! As for her Faith list, Heal, Nosferatu, Seraphim (C), Warp (B), and Abraxas (A). Warp is the highlight here. But 1 use? Worth it, I guess. Stats: With 11+60% Magic, 7+60% Dexterity, and 7+50% Speed, Lysithea is world renowned for the annihilation she brings. A little overrated, but that’s how memes work. In reality, Lysithea is the very thesis of a Glass Canon. Huge Offense, no Defense. Case in Point, 22+20% HP and 3+10(!)% Defense. Classes: Beginner- Monk Intermediate- Mage for Death Blow Advanced- Bishop for Faith boost or Valkyrie (If you have the DLC) for Dark Magic Range +1 and the mount Master- Gremory for double Magic uses or Dark Knight for Dark Tomefaire and the mount The Verdict The logical extreme of the generic Three Houses Mage, Lysithea will either destroy or be destroyed. Use her well and she is well worth an 8.5/10. She’s very solid. I can understand why she’s so hyped up, but she isn’t the best.
  4. Yeah, yeah, art, knights, merchants, chatter, chatter, chatter… That’s great. You’re a near useless sod. Have fun, you rally bot. Skill Levels: Boons: E+ Sword and Authority, D Bow. Budding Talent in Reason. Bane in Flying. These do not synergize with his stats! At all. Abilities: Watchful Eye is one of the best Personals in the game. Not saying much, but still. Combine with Hit +20 and an Accuracy Ring and he will not be missing anytime soon. His Talent gives Seal Strength to take the edge off of a particularly nasty boss. Battalion Desperation (C) and Vantage (A) are useless. Rallies Speed (D), Dexterity (C+), and Strength (S) makes him a viable Rally bot. I actually didn’t know he had three Rallies! I actually learned something today! Arts: Ignatz’s Sword Art is Haze Slice (C+) which is basically a nerfed Windsweep. Decent. His Bow Arts are Break Shot (C+) and Ward Arrow (A). Break Shot is useful against Monsters and Bosses, while Ward Arrow is Silence that trades range for a bit of damage. Stats: Take Ashe. Remove some of his Skill and Speed. Transfer that to his Luck. You now have Ignatz. 7+50% Dexterity, 8+50% Speed, and 8+55% Luck. Passable. 25+35% HP, 4+25% Defense, and 6+35% Resistance. So, like the other House’s shitty archers, Ignatz faints anytime someone swings or shoots in his general direction. 8+35% Strength. Look out, he has a toothpick! He might poke you! And then he gets mowed down by a troop of football players, cause his Charm is 4+35%. Classes: Beginner- Fighter or Soldier Intermediate- Brigand or Archer Advanced- Swordmaster, Assassin, or Sniper Master- Bow Knight The Verdict Why are the ‘skillful, speedy’ Archers so horrendously bad! Bernie has her Personal and Vengeance to make her slightly not shit, Ashe is garbage, and Ignatz Rallies, hits stuff, and debuffs. That’s it. That’s all that defines them. 4/10, would not Ignatz again.
  5. Three words: Knights. Food. Training. What is he, Kris? Skill Levels: Boons: Brawling and Armor at D, Axes at E+. Banes: Bows, Reason, and Riding. That last on prevents him from being a Great Knight. Abilities: Goodie Basket is a travesty. I’ll not continue. Rally Strength at D helps early on. Battalion Wrath can allow a Crit build, but normal Wrath and Vantage can’t work with Quick Riposte, but it’s still a good idea. Arts: His Arts are bad. Wild Abandon can’t hit the side of a barn, Monster Crusher is a Monster Art, and Draining Blow is pointless. You can ‘fix’ Wild Abandon with an Accuracy Ring and/or Hit +20, but why bother. And Draining Blow is superseded by literally any healer. Stats: 30+65% Hp and 7+45% Defense makes for amazing bulk.11+50% Strength is solid. All of his other stats can be summed up with one word: BAD. Classes: Beginner- Fighter Intermediate- Brigand for Death Blow then Armor Knight for Tanking Advanced- either Fortress Knight for Tanking or Grappler for Fistfaire Master- War Master. Great Knight simply takes too long to get to be worth it The Verdict Very simple unit here. No tricks, schemes, or hidden parts. Raphael hits hard, twice if using Gauntlets. He can eat Physical damage by the truckload. He will be doubled and dies to a Mage’s fart. 4.5/10. Useable.
  6. The difference between Grape here and Orange over there is that Grape just wants to be king. Too bad he lacks the stats for the role. Skill Levels: Boons: Lance D, Reason E+, Riding D. Obviously, Lorenz is meant to become a Dark Knight. Banes: Brawling. Why would you want to use fists on this magic man? Abilities: Distinguished House is effectively +2 Damage as a personal. I have nothing else to add. Battalion Vantage at C+ is useless on him. Arts: Like Annette, he only gets 1 Art, and that’s the only Art he needs. Frozen Lance at C+ is better on Lorenz than Lighting Axe is on Annette, but only barely. Spells: Fire (D), Sagittae (C), Ragnarök (B), and Agnea’s Arrow (A). It’s clear Lorenz is meant to nuke things with Magic. And also, be very slow. His Faith spells are nothing grand, with Heal, Nosferatu, Recover (C), and Ward (B). Stats: His highest Growth is HP at 55% and a 28 base. Skill is next at 6+45%. After that, Strength (Base 8), Magic (7), Speed (7), and Resistance (6) are at 40% Growth. His charm is utterly atrocious at 3+35%. At 6+30%, his defense is mediocre, but most character’s defenses are. Classes: Beginner- Monk if you want Magic or Soldier for Repo Intermidiate- Mage. Or if you want a shit unit, Cavalier Advanced- Warlock. Or for Frozen Lance Memes, Paladin Master- Dark Knight The Verdict Personally, I think Lorenz is terrible. Bad bases, subpar Growths, meh spell list. At best he’ll be a Jack of all Trades, Master of None. At worst… Well it’s not pretty. His Relic is far, far superior to him, and conveniently has synergy with a certain other Golden Deer mage and any other Mage with a Crest. Lorenz varies greatly in usefulness, but on average, he’s under average, sitting at a 3/10. Still usable.
  7. I've played Maddening on SS, BL, and VW. I would think I would know. That is a strategy. Just as Dodge Tanking and Vantage + Double Wrath builds are strategies. I'm not saying they aren't good, just that units don't live or die by them. Except for Bernie. She needs Vengeance, or she's in the same boat as Ashe. Anyways, enough of the off-topic, eh?
  8. Lazy, lazy. Her stats are at odds with her character, though. Maybe having her life on the line helps her to actually fight well? Skill Levels: Boons: E+ Lance, D Axes. 2 out of the 3 needed for Wyvern Lord. Budding Talent in Armor. One word on this: NO. Get the Skill from it, but don’t go any further down that path. Her Banes are In Faith and Authority. The Authority Bane in particular is quite bad. But time will mend that problem. Abilities: Advocate helps the Golden Deer immensely. This is easily exploitable given that they are mostly Archers with Curved Shot. She gets Battalion Wrath at C Authority. With her Axe Boon, she’ll easily get that Crit build working. Arts: Her Lance Art is Shatter Slash (C+), which helps against Monsters. Her Axe arts are mostly garbage, with Spike (C+) and Diamond Axe (A). As a side note, everyone seems to obsess over good Arts. You only get to use them on Player Phase, which makes them at best a Delete-this-unit-now button, or 2 if you Dance them. You can get much more done on Enemy Phase than Player Phase, even in TH. Stats: Hilda’s Stats are oddly reminiscent of Ferdinand. 29+50% Hp is good, but her 6+35% Defense and 3+20% Res allow enemies to eat through that quite quickly. 10+45% Strength and 8+50% Speed are Ok Offensive stats. She has one of the highest non-Lord Charms at 7+50%. Like other Physical units, her Magic is useless, at 5+25%. 5+25% Skill is also bad, but there are ways of covering for that. Classes: Beginner- Fighter or Soldier for Repo Intermediate- Brigand for Death Blow, Archer for Hit +20 (She needs it), and Mercenary for Vantage Advanced- Warrior for Wrath and then Wyvern Master- Wyvern Lord The Verdict Hilda serves as a powerful frontliner. She would’ve been even better if War Master wasn’t gender-locked. I would recommend Wrath + Vantage + Battalion Wrath + Alert Stance+ + Axe Prowess. Hilda is one of the stronger Golden Deer at 8/10. Also, Freikugel is absurd. 23 Might for the win.
  9. Duke/Bishop Claud of Eda? Nope, just Claude of Almyra. FE typically avoids reusing names, but they occasionally run afoul of this problem. He’s the Meme-man. He’s also the worst of the 3 Main Lords. Put your pitchforks down. Skill Levels: First his Boons: D Bow, E+ Sword, D Authority, E+ Riding and Flying. Budding Talent in Axes also helps. His Banes are Lances and Faith. Of the two, lances are relevant as they make it difficult to become a Bow Knight or Wyvern Lord. More on that latter… Abilities: He gets Battalion Desperation (C) and Wrath (A). Wrath = Vantage Crit build. On a unit with either 1~3 Range or (Bow Knight) 1~4. Sounds good to me. Model Leader (C) is as bad as always. Why the hell does he get Rally Charm at S?! That I will never understand. Arts: I’ve already said my piece about the Monster Arts, so yeah, he gets Bane of Monsters and Monster Blast at C+ Sword and Bow, respectively. A Sword gives Finesse Blade and that can do good damage considering Claude’s high Dexterity. Encloser (A) is extremely useful in Maddening. Stats: Claude is like Ashe, but better. 8+60% Dexterity and 8+55% Speed are very good, making Doubles, Hits, and Crits more common. 8+55% Charm makes Claude a potent Gambiter and Gambit avoider. 11+40% Strength could be better, and 7+45% Luck is Ok. 5+25% Magic doesn’t matter. 26+35% Hp, 6+30% Defense, and 4+25% Resistance does make Claude quite frail. Classes: Beginner- Fighter (He’s a good enough fighter to advocate not going Soldier) Intermediate- Brigand for Death Blow and Strength Growth, Archer for Hit +20, and Mercenary for Vantage Advanced- Warrior for Wrath, then Wyvern Master Master- Barbarossa, unless you want the +2 Range of the Bow Knight The Verdict Like Dimitri and Felix, Claude doesn’t require much investment to get good. Unlike Dimitri and Felix, Claude isn’t astoundingly powerful. Yes, he’s good, but he’s not Dimitri good. Still an 8.5/10.
  10. Ah, the trouble of women in a feudal society. That’s her character. Well, except for her love of food. And Glen. And Knights. Anyways forget that, stats! Skill Levels: Booned E+ Swords and D Lances helps to get to Falcon. D+ and a Boon in Riding and Flying allows easy access to their respective Classes. Combine with an utter lack of Banes, and Ingrid can get any Masteries you desire. Abilities: Lady Knight helps with Gambits. Simple enough. Rally Magic at D is mostly useless outside the early game. Battalion Desperation is, once again, a thing. Arts: Hexblade is her only Sword Art at A rank. Worse than Soulblade, but it can still deal passable damage. For Lances she gets Hit and Run (C) and Frozen Lance (A). Hit and Run can be of use with Canto, and Frozen Lance can deal decent Damage. But with her speed, she’ll probably double, so do you really want to use Arts? Magic: Seeing as Ingrid’s Strength and Magic are the same, I’ll just add this to the mix. Reason yields up Blizzard at D, Thoron at C, and Fimbulvetr at A. Faith gets her Heal, Nosferatu, Physic (C), and Seraphim (B). Decent enough list. Stats: 27+40% Hp and 8+40% Resistance is good Magic Bulk. 6+40% Dexterity, 6+45% Luck, and 8+45% Charm are Ok. 8+35% Strength, 6+35% Magic, and 5+30% Defense are smidge low. Classes: Beginner- Myrmidon for +2 Speed or Soldier for Repo. Intermediate- Pegasus for Darting Blow and Brigand for Death Blow Advanced- Either stay in Pegasus, Swordmaster for growths, or Paladin for Lancefaire Master- Falcon or Wyvern. Or maybe Great Knight if you want to get her Axe and Armor to B+ and A respectively The Verdict She’s fast. That’s it. Most of the time, she has quite piddly damage. If she gets lucky on the Strength growths, she could own the competition. If. Emphasis on IF. Luin is quite the good lance, and it’s Art – Flame Quake – scales off Ingrid’s Speed, which is good, but you shouldn’t go spamming it. I rate 7/10. She’s a fully serviceable unit in the end.
  11. If you like something (in this case Awakening), and it doesn't hurt anyone else, then just like it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, just as I am entitled to mine that Awakening is pretty meh of a game. And yes, Lunatic is BS. Lunatic+ is even worse.
  12. I think the point is that the Crusher doesn't use Magic Hit, but normal Hit. Magic Hit > normal Hit.
  13. I do quite like Annette. Clumsy, yes, but she’s quite endearing. Unfortunately, endearment doesn’t help when it comes to stats. Skill Levels: D+ Reason with a Boon is great. E+ Authority with a Boon helps immensely when setting up for her typical Rally spam. Booned E+ Axes leads into Annette’s nuking abilities. Bane in Bows and Armor are mostly irrelevant, but she could used Hit +20 from Archer for her Magic Axe Nuking. Abilities: Ready for the longest Ability list? Her personal is basically Rally Strength. Annette also gets Rallies Resistance at D, Speed at C+, and Movement at S. That amounts to +4 Strength, Speed, Resistance, and +1 Move. Oi. She also gets Battalion Renewal (C) and Wrath (A), and while not recommended, but you could set up a Vantage Crit build. Arts: Only Lightning Axe at C+ Axes. To be fair, that’s all she needs. Magic Nukes inbound. Magic: Despite Annette being a power mage, she gets the Wind line of spells (Wind at D, Cutting Gale at C, Excalibur at A) and Sagittae at B. Not all that great, she would’ve liked Ragnarok or Agnea’s Arrow, but alas. For Faith she gets Heal (D), Nosferatu (D+), Recover (C), and Abraxas (A). Stats: 11+50% Magic and 7+50% Skill are her strong points. Like Ashe, the rest of her stats are terrible. Unlike Ashe, this doesn’t hurt her much. 23+25% Hp, 5+20% Defense, and 4+35% Resistance is nothing new. Mages are swishy. 5+30% Strength and 7+35% Speed means she will only ever double Armors and the like. 6+35% Luck isn’t great on a Mage, but alas. 6+35% Charm is the same deal as with Mercedes, she shouldn’t ever face Gambits. Classes: Beginner- Monk Intermediate- Mage Advanced- Warlock. Or for Memes, Warrior (AXefAiRE + CRushER + boLT axE + lIghTNing aXe = PWNage) Master- Same problem as Mercedes, None of the Master Classes work well. Warlock is better than Gremory for Annette, seeing as the former has Black Tomefaire. The Verdict Strong Magic Combat. Nuking with Magic Axes. Rallies. That’s all that Annette can do, really. 4 for her stats, -1 for her non-synergistic Spell List, +1 for the Lightning Axe Nuke Damage, and +1 for the Rally Potential, for a total of 5/10. I don't count Crusher either way. It's a waste of a Relic, but that has nothing to do with Annette.
  14. Mercie’s Ok. That’s all I’ve got to say on her character. And yes, I type her name as Merie most of the time, as it’s faster than typing than Mercedes. Onward, to the stats! Skill Levels: E+ Reason and D Faith is good, especially with a Boon in both. Her Talent in Bows is nearly useless, unless you want a Meme-built Sniper Mercie with a Hunter’s Volleyed Magic Bow. Her banes in Sword, Lance, Axe, and Armor are mostly irrelevant. As a side note, she only has +3 Ranks over E in everything. Compare that to everyone else in the game. Odd, right? Abilities: Live to Serve is one of the better Personals in Three Houses, given that it will keep Mercie well healed. Battalion Renewal is useless. Enough said. Arts: The only Art Mercie gets is from her Talent: Waning Shot. It’s more or less useless. Magic: Mercedes’ Reason list is Fire at D, Thunder D+, Bolganone at C, and Ragnarok at A. Not greatly impressive, but useable. Her Faith list is her bread and butter: Heal at D, Nosfetatu D+, Physic C, Restore B, and Fortify A. Aside from lacking Rescue or Warp, this is the best Faith list in the game. Stats: 10+50% Magic and 8+40% Speed makes her a good Healer and spare Mage. 6+45% Dexterity is of little use. 9+45% Resistance makes her a Magic Tank, as expected from a healer. With 25+30% HP and 5+25% Defense, Mercie is very squishy, also as expected. 5+30% Luck is not the best. 8+40% Charm isn’t bad, but she shouldn’t be in gambit range if you know what you’re doing. Classes: Beginner- Monk Intermidiate- Mage for Fiendish Blow then Priest for the Healing Advanced- Bishop for the enhanced Healing capabilities. Master- Not advised, but if you want a Master-Classed Mercedes, then it’s Gremory or nothing. The Verdict Best Healer in the game, hands down. The Rafail Gem is put to much better use by Mounted or Flying units than a back-line healer. Aside from the occasional Chip, Mercedes should only ever be healing. If we were rating her based on her niche, she would be 10/10. But we’re not. Comparing her to everyone else is just plain unfair. But we are. Assuming you use her for her intended purposes, she deserves a 8/10.
  15. Sylvain. Ugh. This one’s character annoys me to no end. That aside, he never turns out that great for me. But I hate bias, and so I am forced to rate him fairly. Skill Levels: D and a Boon in Lance, Axe, and Riding. Bane is Bows. Doesn’t hurt him much. Neutral Armor is a minor issue, considering what his preferred Master Class is. Abilities: Philanderer helps a bit in the early game. Past that, it’s forgotten. He gets Battalion Vantage which doesn’t help him. Arts: Monster piercer at C+. Same problem as the rest of the Monster-Effective Arts. A Lances yields Swift Strikes, which is as good as always. His Axe Arts yield Spike at C+ and Lightning Axe at A. Spike is basically just better Smash, and Lighting Axe is not good on a Physical Unit. Stats: 27+55% HP and 6+40% Defense means he’ll progressively get bulkier as the game goes on. 9+45% Strength is good enough. 8+50% Speed is solid, but He want’s Paladin and Great Knight, so that’ll cut his speed pretty badly. 7+40% Charm is not particularly good, but isn’t bad either. 5+30% Magic is of no consideration, but you could get lucky on this front. 5+35% Skill and 6+35% Luck is bad, but it could’ve been worse. Classes: Beginner- Fighter for Strength +2 or Soldier for Repo Intermediate- Brigand for Death Blow Advanced- Paladin for its Lancefaire or Wyvern for Flying and stats Master- Great Knight for Lancefaire or Wyvern Lord for Flying and Stats The Verdict Sylvain is a Ok combatant and has a fail-safe-Delete-this-right-now button in Swift Strikes. The Lance of Ruin is strong, and it’s Art is solid. While good, he isn’t nearly as strong as Felix or Dimitri. I rate him as a solid 8/10. Also, for anyone who's wondering, I always rate these units according to what performance I've seen on Maddening + their value on Paper (If I haven't used that part of them on Maddening).
  16. Mr. ‘I wanna be a knight’. Ashe is a good guy. But do you know how the phrase goes? ‘Good guys finish last’. Very true in this case. Skill Levels: With Bows sitting pretty at D with a Boon, Ashe should have no problems getting into Archer or Snipper. E+ and Booned Axe allows for easy Brigand and Warrior certifications. His Lance Talent is useful for getting into his preferred Master Classes. His only Bane is in Reason and is completely irrelevant. Abilities: His personal is Locktouch (Or ‘Lockpick’, but semantics). IDK why. It’s not like you can buy Chest keys or anything. Oh, wait, you can. It would’ve been better if he had Steal, but oh well. Battalion Desperation is maybe of some use? IDK. Arts: Ashe’s Arts are shit. Focused Strike is utterly pointless, Deadeye is of marginal use, and Waning Shot is extremely situational. Shatter Slash (from his Budding Talent) is slightly better than Waning Shot. But only slightly. Stats: 8+55% Dexterity and 9+50% Speed are Ashe’s biggest selling points. Unfortunately, ALL his other growths are less than 40%. 23+35% Hp, 5+20% Defense, and 6+35% Resistance means he dies to a stiff breeze. 6+40% Luck is nearly pointless. 8+35% Strength is piddly. 5+25% Magic is irrelevant. 5+25% Charm makes him weak to Gambits. I do not need to continue. Classes: Beginner- Fighter for Strength +2 or Soldier for Repo. Intermediate- Brigand for Death Blow and Archer for Hit +20 Advanced- Sniper for Hunter’s Volley or Wyvern for growths Master- Bow Knight for Bow Range +2, Wyvern Lord because any non-mage works in it, or just stick to Sniper for Hunter’s Volley The Verdict Unless you go Sniper for Hunters Volley and spam Killer Bows, you put him down Fighter > Brigand > Wyvern and you bloody pray. Easily the weakest of the Blue Lions. And when you have the monsters that are Dimitri, Edelgard, Felix, Dedue, and - to a lesser extent – Petra, do you honestly have room for this sod? 2/10
  17. Major Fraldarius is 40% proc rate. Source: the Serenes Forest Crest page.
  18. Good ol’ reliable Felix. The second best in the Blue Lions. Skill Levels: A Booned D in Swords is passable. E+ and a Boon in Bows and Brawling is Ok. He has no problems for Axes, which is good, but it’ll take a bit for him to get to Death Blow or Wrath. His Budding Talent in Reason is nearly irrelevant, unless you’ve lucked out of Felix’s Magic Leveling. Abilities: He gets Battalion Vantage at C. Unfortunately, Felix doesn’t get Battalion Wrath, so no Vantage Crit build here. Arts: For Sword Arts, Felix gets Sunder at C+ and Finesse Blade at A. Sunder is of limited use on Maddening, given that even Felix will double most things aside from Assassins with their absurd speed and Swordmasters with their QR. Finesse Blade is of similar usage given that Felix has a decent Dexterity. His only Bow Art, Heavy Draw at C+, is decent for use against Fliers. As for Brawling Arts, at C+ he gets Nimble Combo, which (along with Bombard) is the best Gauntlet Art. He also gets Mystic Blow, but that’s nearly useless. Stats: 10+55% Strength and 9+55% Speed. In terms of Offensive stats, Felix easily hold his all against the likes of Edelgard and Dimitri. 6+45% Dexterity and 26+45% HP is decent enough. Past that though… 5+30% Defense and 3+20% Resistance is pretty bad, but the Aegis helps and most other characters in this game are comparable in terms of tanking. 5+35% Magic is why his Budding Talent and Mystic Blow are so overlooked. 5+30% Charm also means he’s very vulnerable to Gambits. Classes: Beginner- Myrmidon for Speed +2 or Fighter for Strength +2 (Felix should be fighting, not Repositioning) Intermediate- Thief or Brawler for the +10% Dexterity and Speed and Brigand for Death Blow Advanced- Swordmaster, Assassin, or Grappler for the Growths or Warrior for Wrath Master- War Master. Or if you wasted the time and resources, Mortal Savant. And yes I consider it a waste of resources to get his Reason to B+. The Verdict Easily one of the stronger characters in the Blue Lions. Not as good as Dimitri, but still very strong none the less. The strategy I’d advocate is using him as your Dancer or putting him in War Monk for Brawling Avoid +20, so he can Dodge-tank with ease. Combine this with the Aegis and he is a Dodge Tank, Actual Tank, and potent Damage Dealer. All considered, I rate Felix 9/10
  19. Fair enough. We've already gone far enough off topic. I concede the point.
  20. 1. Give Crimson Flower 2~4 chapters vs TWSITD after you kill Rhea 2. Extra Classes (Halberdier for Infantry Lancers, Griffon Rider as a flying Swordie, Trueblade as a good Swordie Master Class, Etc.) 3. Actually trying to balance the classes (QR on Fortress Knight, No gender lock, either no Speed penalty on Cavs or a Speed loss on Wyverns, Etc.) CS. An actual story. That's the only problem I have with it.
  21. 1. So a war for a war? Alright, that's fair. What of all the Mercenary work though? 2. Eh, they never really say either way how long Micaiah has used tomes. Could've been for a couple decades, could've been since the beginning of the Dawn Brigade. 3. Soren has a comparably strong bloodline, perhaps even stronger, 4. She's never depicted as a veteran mage either. That's a good question. I don't think it's ever said in-game just how long the blessing works. Ashera's blessing has been active, for, what, ~800 years? Could be that it varies based on the strength of the blessing.
  22. Point of the matter is that (according to the Lore, not stats) Micaiah hasn't really fought before, yet Soren has seen a war and who knows how much mercenary work. Yet Micaiah is fairly indistinguishable from Soren in terms of stats. I suppose a argument could be made that Micaiah is stronger than she should be because she has had Yune helping her. But past that Soren should by all rights be stronger than Micaiah.
  23. Poor Dedue. This game isn't kind to him. Skill Levels: D+ Axes with a Boon. Very Good, very good. Allows him to get into Brigand, if you’re willing to try a few times. E+ and a Boon in Lances and Brawling is decent, for very different reasons. D and a Boon in Armor is sufficient to get him to Armored Knight without any tutoring. A Bane in Faith is irrelevant, but in Riding and Flying, that’s a problem. Abilities: Dedue only gets Battalion Wrath, which is good, but not great. It really needs Vantage. Dedue can get normal Vantage + Wrath to complement this, and a certain Art he gets, so it’s not all that bad. Arts: Dedue gets Monster Breaker at C+ Axes. As I’ve said before, the Monster Effective skills are a bit crumby, but it is better for Dedue that others given that he will never reliably double. Armored Strike? On Dedue? Sounds strong. At A Axes? Not so much. One-Two Punch is a bit gimiky, given the enemy can get a counter off in between, but is otherwise quite strong. Mighty Blow is like the other non-doubling Gauntlet Arts: Not Good. Aaaand, we get to Dedue’s bread and butter: Vengence. Unlike Bernadetta, Dedue actually has HP and Strength, and so can deal amazing damage with it. Unlike Bernie? He has trouble with Movement. Take your pick of who’s better. Stats: With 30+60% Hp and 8+50% Defense, Dedue has the best Physical Bulk in the game. 12+50% Strength makes him a good Gauntlet wielder. At 2+15% Magic, he’s ever worse than Dimitri when it comes to being a Mage, which is saying a lot. 5+30% Dexterity means he won’t have much Crit. Don’t be fooled by his 7 base Speed, his 20% growth has him going nowhere, fast. 5+25% Luck is a problem, what with Crit being a thing. Being your pre-designated Armor, he has shit for Resistance, sitting pretty at 1+10%. 4+30% Charm, he’s not going to dodge a Gambit anytime soon. Classes: Beginner Classes- Fighter for Shove or Soilder for Repo Intermediate: Mercinary if you want Vantage, Brigand for Death Blow, Armor for the Defense and Armor skill gain. Advanced: Warrior for Wrath or Fortress Knight Master: War Master for QR, or if you want to sink a massive amount of Tutoring into Riding of Flying, Great Knight or Wyvern Lord If you want him to do anything but wall, you will need to go get him on a Crit build. With Wrath and Vantage on Enemy Phase and Vengence on Player he looks good on paper. The Verdict Dedue is serviceable, if nothing fancy. I give him a 6/10.
  24. Compairing their Growths: HP, Magic, and Speed are exactly the same Strength is irrelevant Skill: Soren has +20%. Luck: Micaiah has +45% Def: Soren has +5% Res: Micaiah has +20% I rest my case.
  25. We keep going further off topic, but... Yune might be sending Micaiah because she's the one Yune talks through. Either that or she is that strong. Believe what you will, I suppose.
