  1. Most characters can easily use the titles of their games for their emblem names, but as for the ones that can't

    • Leif - If they don't go with "Emblem of Thracia", they could go with Emblem of Unification
    • Lyn - "Emblem of Blazing/Blazes" works fine on it's own, but it's not very befitting of Lyn who's more associated with Wind. So the "Emblem of Wind" or the "Emblem of the Plains"
    • Eirika - If they don't go with something like "Emblem of Sacredness", I think "Emblem of Restoration" would be the best option
    • Corrin - "Emblem of Fate" works perfectly in English, but the Japanese title is "Fire Emblem if", which doesn't work as well. It's the Female Corrin who is more associated with Conquest/Anya Ōkoku (Dark Night Kingdom), but she's originally from Valla, the Invisible Kingdom. So maybe something like the "Emblem of Possibilities", "Emblem of the Dark Night", or "Emblem of Ivisibility".
    • Byleth - Byleth has the opposite problem of Corrin, due to the poetic nature of the Japanese name, "Emblem of Fukasetsugetsu" could probably work just fine, but that won't work in English. "Emblem of Houses" doesn't work, and "Emblem of Hope" is no good either since they aren't the protagonist of Three Hopes. "Emblem of Flames" is literally just making them the Fire Emblem, so that's no good. He also gets different titles in the ending depending on what route you're on, so that's no help. Maybe they can be the "Emblem of Possibilities" in English while Corrin uses that title in Japanese?

I don't think that yet and should have rephrased the original comment, apologies for the confusion! Including Etie and the mystery guy we already have six Firene characters. If you add Citrinne and the blue haired person @Chloé Waifu Supremacy mentioned earlier (who I admittedly don't remember seeing), that's eight Firenese characters. Since most FEs (not counting ones with child units) usually have ~30 characters, it means Firene alone accounts for almost a third of the cast.

So if all four countries have eight nobles/ retainers, add that to the Dragon Guardians, any extra characters like the dragon girl and the Emblems and all of a sudden the cast becomes worryingly big.

But hey, if Engage has been in development for as long as the leaks said, maybe even such a large cast will have enough depth to avoid said "Fates" situation.

Citrinne is a retainer of Prince Alcryst, so unless Alfred and Céline have another sibling, she's not from Firene

  3. As a bit of fun while we wait for more information to be revealed about these characters, let's predict who they are and what their roles might be

I think the girl on the opposite side of Abby(?) is her sister and they're the princesses of Elusia(?)
The dark skinned boy and girl at the bottom are the prince and princess of the desert kingdom
Alcryst(?) is the prince of the the fourth country
I kind of feel like the blue haired guy might also be from Elusia(?) because his color scheme reminds me of Abby(?)

I think the dragon girl in the middle might be Alear's sister. They could go for the "she's really 7000 years old but just looks like a child" route, but Alear is already 1000 and looks like a teen/young adult, so I think she actually is the relative age she appears (in dragon years) and not not really an adult.

I think the woman in the top right corner looks very royal, but all the other countries are taken. So I think she might be Alear's mom.

  4. I love Celine's big poofy dress and long flowing hair. And I'm she's not chibified as I had initially feared

That could also work. I just hope that, if they do go with this, they don`t go as overboard with debuffs as Fates did.

I have heard nothing good about Tellius daggers. The best dagger using character, Volke, seems to be seen as good INSPITE of his weapon type, rather than because of it. And then there`s how knives were given to Sages in Path of Radiance for reasons I cannot fathom.

I made the mistake of giving Soren a knife when he promoted. In my head it made so much sense that he'd rather cut someone that heal them

  5. I'm mostly interested in the boxart characters

Given that Vander is the 32nd generation Dragon Guardian, and Clan and Framme are the 33rd, do you think that means that Vander is their father, either biologically or via adoption? Or perhaps he's their uncle? They have similar hair colors, but Vander's could be the result of his age, and I don't think they're the exact same shade of grey.

Clan and Framme could also just have been chosen or volunteered for the position.

I don't think they're Vander's kids/grankids, they're mostly likely the kids/grandkids of Vander's coworkers. The twitter bios probably would've mentioned if they were related

  6. Ascended Celica is weird; design wise it's just a palette swap of her Princess look, but her regular Princess look isn't in the game. And it just further muddies the point of Ascended Heroes

Jesse and Atlas are finally in the game! And Atlas is an Axe user!

Weird they're using Brigand Boss instead of Grieth, who would make more sense alongside Atlas and Est

Ymir's dragon form is so beautiful. Naga is screaming, crying and throwing up. All other dragons found dead in a ditch

@Fire Emblem Fan She should dual wield the Mani Katti and Sol Katti like she does in Warriors and redesign the Sol Katti so it looks like its Warriors design

  7. What are some supports you'd like to see in Three Hopes, particularly between characters that maybe didn't have supports in Three Houses?

I'd like to see supports between Edelgard and Hapi, I think they'd have a lot to talk about, What with being imprisoned and experimented on as children, and Hapi could tell Edelgard about her mom.

I'd also be curious to see Constance and Petra/Shamir talk about the Dagda and Brigid War.

And Balthus/Caspar and Balthus/Raphael as GYM BROS.

  8. @Ice Dragon Miranda's ending has her abdicating the throne of Ulster to live a normal life as a regular woman, not really an "Ascension"
I can see Olwen working, reconstructing Friege and likely wielding the Blessed Sword, but Reinhardt wouldn't. Not only is he canonically dead, but his purpose in the story is to contrast Olwen: she realizes she's fighting for the bad guys and switches sides to fight for what's right, he already know they're working for the bad guys but is unable to bring himself to do anything about. His arc is his inability to grow as a person

Lastly, there's the characters I just want, but don't have any justifiable reason to put on the roster. Characters like Bernadetta, Petra, Mercedes, Felix, Lorenz and Lysithea would be obvious picks out of my favorites.

I've personally never been a fan of the Black Eagles outside of Bernie and Petra... please, IS, don't do us like Heroes. ...come to think of it, that might explain part of my bias

    • Petra being the princess of Brigid is actually an important character politically
    • If Jeritza's playable then it would make sense to include Mercedes so they can interact
    • Houses Gloucester and Ordelia were the pro Empire factions from Leicester, and Lysithea especially would be a good go between for Claude and Edelgard
