  1. Shadows of Valentia was notorious for having a Season Pass more expensive than the base game. The good part was that the base game was fully completed and wasn't lacking in content, so I just watched the DLC online and was happy with what I paid for (just the base game).

MK8 DLC was handled well, I bought the packs back in 2015. When Deluxe came out for the Switch, I wasn't mad or anything, I just ended up skipping it in favour of other games. That's my stance generally on editions that include all DLC later on, you paid the money for the DLC to play it early, so you can't really complain.

BotW DLC so far is fine by me (base game had so much to do, and Trial of the Sword is awesome), I'm just looking forward to the Winter Pack. For the amount of content you get, $20 is worth it I think.

I don't consider Warriors to be a first party Nintendo game because it's made by Koei Tecmo who are known for their DLC practices. I don't like what they did, but I'm not buying the game to begin with.

You mean that is going to be all of the DLC? There are 4 games at least with no representation!

You mean 7 games. Ones not represented are FE4, FE5, FE6, FE8, FE9, FE10, FE12 (only SD characters, none that are originally from New Mystery).

I'd disagree, because Sacred Stones and Sword of Seals exist.

I mean Sword of Seals isn't really all that bad in the way something like Fates was bad. FE6 was a story that didn't do anything special, but also didn't do anything horribly either.

People hate Fire Emblem 7's story? I'm in the middle of it for the first time, and I think it's pretty good so far.

Is their ANY game in this franchise whose story isn't criticized in an overly harsh manner?

Maybe the first half of Genealogy? Not to say the second half is hated, but the first gen is more well received for sure.

I just realized something that the game needs: more than three save files. I know it's a demo and all but if you're gonna have eight characters and eight stories, three save files isn't enough.

I think one save file will involve you meeting up with other characters, and playing through their storylines, before they join you. No way they'll make you play the game 8 different times to get the full story, that's straight up too much.

The 3DS has not "had it's run" until it stops getting good games. A new METROID was just released for it... With that being said, I'm certain that Mario Party: The Top 100 is only on 3DS to cut production costs (it does have a lot of minigames, after all).

You can already see the signs, especially since FE has moved on to Switch. This is major considering the fact that we haven't had a home console game since RD. Also the next Pokemon after Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon is a Switch game, same with Metroid with Metroid Prime 4, and more. The only 3DS games we know that are coming now are some smaller Japanese third parties, and smaller Nintendo first party titles. Games like the new Mario Party, and the Superstar Saga remake are hardly anything to hit home about. Metroid was the last major one, but that was just a remake/re-imagining. I suppose the Kirby games aren't small, but the next one after those is on the Switch as well. I think Nintendo will continue to support the 3DS with smaller titles in 2018, and will phase it out soon after.

Agreed. And speaking of bosses, at least in in Primrose's tale, the boss had way too much health for a first boss. I had to stock up on a lot of healing items just to stand a chance. The boss wasn't particularly powerful, but it was a massive HP sponge.

Helps to upgrade her armor too, but yeah the boss had way too much HP.

Does the link not work on your end? The link I included is to the survey...

As to whether or not you still have a chance to receive it after reactivating that option, no idea... if you really want to receive the link yourself your best safety option is to re-download the game and play through one of the campaigns again (at least partly) which will most likely prompt it to resend.

Link works, but I was under the impression that the link is unique based on your e-mail. I guess I'll try and complete it with your link then, thanks.

Here I'll just post the link for everyone here,  just anyone here who takes it please make sure you've actually played the demo before you take the survey, Survey link.

As for why you may not have received the email, If you're not signed up to receive emails from Nintendo you might not have got it at all or it might've found itself in your spam box not sure.

Damn, looks like my survey e-mail option from Nintendo wasn't activated. Any chance I can still get the survey? I don't think I can use your link for a submission.

Shame that its still fairly hard to find a Switch right now for a good chunk of people.

It's been getting better ever since Splatoon 2 launched, I'm seeing Amazon Canada having them available for longer periods of time, and hearing of similar situations in the US. Japan's Media Creates was showing close to 100k each week for the few weeks after Splatoon 2 launched, and then sales dropped to around 50-60k (which is still decent, considering the shortages). Before Splatoon 2, weekly Japan was only selling around 20k, just goes to show how much the stock situation has improved. I suggest people who want one should start searching now though, Nintendo can only stockpile so many for Odyssey and the Holiday season.

  10. Digging the art style and the combat, though I have some issues as well.

    1) I hope they add the ability to skip dialogue before a boss battle, or in general.

    2) Needs more variety in the voiced lines, especially during the battles.

    3) I wish the enemies had specific frames for when they attack, rather than just a generic slash above their sprite indicating they attacked you.

    4) Combat, while fun can be broken as mentioned above.

I'm glad surveys are being sent out, they mean to fix the game and make it even better.

Kinda bummed it's a switch exclusive, it looks fun to try out.

The team behind Bravely Default is making this, and those games were exclusive to 3DS. I'm not really surprised this is a Switch exclusive, and it's a perfect fit considering it harkens back to the SNES era of Final Fantasy. I can see why you'd be bummed out by this, but I imagine alot of the people on these forums will buy a Switch for the next FE, if they haven't already.

Quest log, as the few quests in the demo I had no idea what needed to be done and I actually finished one before I had started it

There is a journal option on the pause menu, but it was grayed out because this is a demo. I'm sure that will have the sidequests logged in there.

  11. Highlights were DOOM, Wolfenstein II, and Project Octopath Traveler. Stopped caring about Warriors long ago, but I guess the inclusion of Lyn was neat anyway. Mario Odyssey looks awesome as expected. Surprised they didn't show off the BotW DLC, I'm guessing it'll have it's own Direct later on? All in all a solid direct, one that showcased that third parties are coming back to the system.

  12. I've had my fair share of their games over the years. Most notably the Zero and ZX series, as well as Azure Striker Gunvolt and Blaster Master Zero. I highly recommend Blaster Master Zero for anyone on the fence about it, it's more than worth its $10 price, and I put in about 13 hours into my first run. I plan on finishing my Destroyer Mode run one day, but it's really hard if I'm being honest.

  13. I haven't touched my Wii U much since I got a Switch, so this doesn't really impact me much. I didn't even use Miiverse really when I was actively playing the Wii U. I get people liked it, but it it wouldn't fit well with the Switch's marketing, gearing more towards adults than children. I hope we get some kind of new platform, but more in line with modern social media. That, or full support for Twitter, Facebook, etc.

IMG_7287.jpgCompleted the Trial of the Sword. The Beginning is a pain in the ass, the Middle wasn't as bad, and the Final was surprisingly easy. I loathed the dark segments of the Middle, though.

Congrats man, I beat it on Master Mode about a month ago myself. Floor 10 of the Beginning Trials is an absolute nightmare, those two Silver Lizalfos can burn in hell for eternity. The Middle Trials were decent, and I found the Final Trials to be the easiest, due to better weapons, and the over abundance of Ancient Arrows. Like seriously, you can get rid of the Lynels and most of the Guardians, and have some left to spare. On top of that, you get so many Fairies. All around a great time though, looking forward to DLC Pack 2.

So now that I beat the four divine beasts and Ganon I feel confident in saying that this mode is kinda lacking considering that it's DLC. The game doesn't really do anything other then upgrading the grunts to the next level. And even then they are not as dangerous as one would think since their weapons aren't upgraded along with them. So all this means is that enemies take longer to kill and that weapon durability becomes more of an issue. Which are two things that were already annoying in the base game.

Still, it was a lot of fun to be able to play this game again from the very beginning. But now I can finally start my "skip-the-Sheikah-Slate-run". It's gonna be interesting to play this game without the map. After all, there is no reason to ever get truly familiar with the environment if you can just teleport all over the place.

I find Master Mode is just something that makes early game difficulty even harder, it's the same pretty much later on when you have powerful weapons that don't break as often.

  16. Only amiibo I own is Wolf Link as it came with Twilight Princess HD. I'm not much of a collector for figurines. I will admit I was tempted for some of the Legend of Zelda amiibo in regard to the costumes for BotW, but then I looked at the prices and noped out of there.

  17. From what I've gathered it's more of an improvement and expansion of the first game, rather than a straight up sequel. If you have the first, the asking price might not be worth it, as I read the quests are recycled and some other things.

The next Tales game will be released for a Nintendo console!?
Didn't expect to see this ever happen again.

It's the first argument for me to get a Switch.

I don't want to get your hopes up, we don't know if it's new or not. Just that a Tales of title is planned for a release before the end of the fiscal year (March 2018).

  19. Only played Abyss on the 3DS but I absolutely loved it. Due to me not having any Sony consoles, I haven't played any of the more recent ones. I'm looking forward to the Tales of game planned for the Switch though.
