Yeah, I'd even argue that Vah Medoh is the easiest Divine Beast.

I recall reading somewhere that it actually is the easiest Divine Beast. I wonder why that one is easier than Vah Ruta? I mean the game points you to Zora's Domain first based on distance from Hateno Village.

Well, I'd wait to do the Gerudo one if you're still learning the game and practicing moves and stuff. Divine Beast Vah Naboris is the hardest one and the Yiga Clan hideout is annoying, plus after you clear it, you'll run into the Yiga all over Hyrule randomly.

This. I recommend doing the Rito one next, Revali's Gale is really useful for exploration and the difficulty is not as bad as the Gerudo Region.

lol totally opposite direction, Taco. The Koroks are in the Great Hyrule Forest to the far north. All I'm gonna tell you without spoiling much.

Yup, this is what I meant. Try activating the tower and head to the stable for hints, it shouldn't be too hard to find it. I recommend doing it earlier rather than later so you can get more slots from Hestu.

I have very mixed feelings on weapon durability.  I get the logic and challenge behind it, I like being able to use many different weapons, and I can appreciate it BUT:  I find that this discourages me from fighting enemies (which sucks since fighting in this game is actually quite fun) altogether since I don't want to break my good weapons as you need them for bosses, shrine guardian challenges, etc.  Of course, if you want to get materials for quests, to make ancient items, to sell and to cook you have to fight so its a bit of a catch 22.  This is especially problematic when some if not most of the better weapons break rather quickly.

Word of advice, do not hoard weapons. Once you get more slots from Hetsu, you'll get to the point where weapons don't break as often and you'll have to drop weapons in favour of others. Trust me, you have more fun if you stop worrying about wasting weapons. By the way, if you are wondering where he is after your first few encounters, I can point you in the right direction without spoiling much.

To be fair the dub isn't bad especially for Zelda's first foray into VA territory.  The only ones I kinda dislike are Zelda and Mipha.  Sidon, King Bosphoramus, and Urbosa are my favs so far.

Zelda grew on me to the point where I can't play the game with any other voice option. Mipha isn't too bad either, the only ones I genuinely dislike are the Gorons.

  5. I should add that the patches were released for both Wii U and Switch. While the Switch got very good performance boosts, the Wii U still saw slight improvements compared to the original version. Thought I might make mention of that.

By the way, you just hold ZL and the horse will obey your movements, no matter how steep. Oh, and Master Mode only has one autosave and one manual save if you own the Season Pass and were playing that mode.

So during Nintendo's financial report, they highlighted some figures for the Switch and 3DS. Interestingly enough, they decided to mention the following:

"For Nintendo 3DS, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia was released in Japan in April and overseas in May and has been a popular title."

Could this be an indication that Shadows of Valentia sold much better than previously expected, or is this just Nintendo PR speak for the 3DS? Perhaps IS will be willing to remake other games in the series if this game was considered "popular" by Nintendo.

Oh I will most definitely go more in depth with it than I did with my Final Fantasy XV review.  It will take a while though to get the capture footage and edit it though.

My wallet is ready...not really though

Yeah thats how I feel.  I would hold off for the Switch version if I felt like more were gonna be in stock by the holidays but in all honesty from everything I've seen that doesn't seem likely.  At best we might be looking a a big restock in the October-November time frame that will most definitely not last long.

If you are willing, I suggest using an online tracker that sends alerts to your phone by texts, you can easily get notified if websites restock online and buy one within minutes.

  8. I happen to own both (got Wii U version back at launch, got the Switch and BotW again recently). The Wii U version runs decently, drops to sub-20fps in villages and stables are frequent, but it's not unplayable by any means. Load times aren't half bad either. I feel the resolution bump from 720p to 900p isn't that big, and the textures/draw distance are nearly identical. If you own a Wii U already, that version isn't bad at all. If you manage to find a Switch however, it's better to go with that.

EDIT: Saw your post about the Wii U version, hope you enjoy the game! My first run was an unforgettable experience.

Gotta say, the way they changed those walker Guardians is kinda... trollish. One of their legs now has several times as much HP as the other ones. Fortunately they are still as vulnerable to ancient weapons as always. But it seems like now I have to keep one of those around just to be prepared.

Btw, does anyone happen to know some good strategies to deal with them without severing the legs first?

I got pretty proficient with shield reflecting their laser beams in Normal Mode, so I attempted it on a moving Guardian in Master Mode. Turns out they sometimes delay the laser, so I was thrown off and I got killed reflecting at the wrong moment. That, and even when I reflected successfully, they regenerate health quickly. Guardians definitely got much harder in Master Mode.

  10. Eh, I see what you're getting at. But at the end of the day I'm not really a Warriors fan and the one thing that really made me even consider it was the idea of playing as some of my favourite characters outside of the chosen 3 games. I mean I love The Legend of Zelda arguably more than FE, but I didn't even bother with Hyrule Warriors. I don't want to buy the game and lie to myself that I would enjoy it, because I probably wouldn't. I hope those who do buy it enjoy it, not gonna be the one to spoil their fun. Just not for me I guess.

    A man of refined taste.

Ah, I'm not surprised to see you agree with me being a big Sonic fan yourself. Seriously though, I've always believed SA1 has the greatest OST for any videogame, period. It's also one of the many reasons SA1 is my second favourite game of all time. Many Sonic fans say Sonic CD, but I digress. I'd have to say a close second would be perhaps Sonic Heroes, although I'm not too set on that.

  12. My Switch is arriving on Sunday, and I have my copy of BotW already. I've beaten the game already on Wii U and am sitting at about 80% completion. I can't wait to replay and get destroyed on Master Mode, the footage I've seen has people struggling to even defeat the first Blue Bokoblin they encountered. I doubt anyone can defeat that Lynel at the start of the game, even with all the weapons available on the Great Plateau.

I've also heard there is a Gold Lynel somewhere else on the Great Plateau, can anyone here confirm?
