  1. Maybe try GameFaqs? They usually have save states for GBA games, I'm sure they have some as well. I don't know if I can link it here even if they aren't ROMs, but if you search "fire emblem binding blade save states", it should be the first link.

Would do this but I have already pre ordered a physical copy from Amazon and do not feel like paying another 30 or so dollars. So I'll just have to wait...sigh.

Yeah, I originally pre-ordered on Amazon.ca, but I would have to wait till Tuesday to get it based on the estimates. A part of me hates that Nintendo releases games on Friday, cause Canada Post never delivers on the weekend, so I always have to wait if I want the 20% off with Prime. If I want the game really badly, I have to give up on the discount.

Beaten chapter 5....damn. The amount of time it takes to beat JUST one chapter in this game....blazing sword to me didn't have this problem one bit...

You're in for a treat with some of the other chapters in this game. It doesn't help that all map objectives are the same in FE6 either. Nothing is worse than losing Roy near the end because you weren't being careful (or resetting because you don't want to forever lose any other character who just got critted by the boss). For Chapter 5 I send the high mobility units north and around the mountains, while the lower mobility units head to the gate to the west. Depending on if you want all the EXP and want to visit the village to the north, you can finish faster by sending your main force through the gate and defeating the boss.

Except the problem is that people are already bashing at the season pass which while COMPLETELY optional, is more than the game itself...by five dollars difference..

So that would just imply that people are going to avoid getting the game because its making them think that the DLC is needed to fully experience the game or something...kinda like how people got brainwashed into thinking that Fates is a cash grab despite the fact that each path has more content than Awakening combined with the DLC.

I'm sure the reviews will rectify this notion that the base game is incomplete, judging from the previews at least. From what I've seen of the DLC, most of it has little to no bearing on the core game other than grinding purposes, side stories, and some new OP classes. Although ridiculously priced, I think people will come to realize it's not necessary to enjoy the base game.

  5. Why isn't Lilina here? I was gonna pick her, she's such a sweetheart :(

After her I was gonna go with Lewyn or Ced, but you didn't include them either. Why make a thread about your favourite magic user, and then skip these (among many others that I don't have the time to list)?

Guess I'll go with Nino then.

In Binding Blade, Ch.11A, Roy got killed by a Brigand with an 8% hit-rate. I didn't heal Roy because i thought he could dodge it. What makes it worse is that the Brigand was the only enemy left.

You would not believe how many times this has happened to me, losing the level like that because I wasn't being cautious enough. These days I don't take my chances.

  7. Welcome to the forest Morgan! So you like Blazing Sword eh? It also happens to be one my my personal favourites in the series. Anyway, enjoy your stay and good luck with your modding endeavours!

About Zoras, it's worth noting that there two species of Zora. The Sea Zoras and Rivers Zoras. Sea Zora are the blue, friendly ones that mostly appear in 3D Zeldas and River Zoras are the green ones that attack Link. The ones in Breath of the Wild may be evolved from River Zoras, since the Rito evolved from Sea Zoras.

River Zora as far as I recall have only appeared in the Downfall timeline (which would seem to indicate the Rito did not evolve from them), not to mention the red Zoras we see here bear more of a resemblance to Sea Zoras than River Zoras such as this one below:

    300px-Zola.png

It's quite possible that the Rito are the ones who evolved from the Sea Zoras, while the regular red Zoras did not. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

    Famitsu stuff

Mifaa sounds cute, and the birds are indeed a redesign of the Rito from The Wind Waker.

So now we have Zora and Rito in one game... Okaaaaaaaaaay...

Yeah, I'm just as perplexed. By all means the inclusion of Zora to me meant that there was no way the Rito were in the game, looks like I was wrong. Guess some must have evolved and others did not, likely from living separately. That Rito Reebal looks pretty cool I must say.

  10. For me it's mostly games in the Sonic series. Most of all would be Sonic Adventure DX on the GameCube. I can see why it might not have aged so well, but this is among my all time favourite games. I find the gameplay of most of the characters to be smooth and fun (even Big is bearable for completion sake), and although there are the occasional glitches, it's mostly the 360 and PS3 ports that are notorious in that regard.

Another would be Sonic Heroes. I really liked the team based gameplay and level design, and while the controls could get slippery at times, I still managed quite fine. Many say this is where Sonic started going downhill, but I tend to disagree. Even Shadow the Hedgehog isn't as bad as '06, though people love to make that be the case.

Then there's Starfox Adventures, another favourite of mine hated by many. I can see why, considering how little of the Starfox series it actually borrows from. Funnily enough though is that it was the first game in the series I ever played, yet I prefer it over all the other games bar Assault (which is also polarizing). I am a big fan of the adventure/puzzle gameplay, which explains why I'm such a huge Zelda fan.

My issue is that we have no choice whereas it could be easily implemented. I'm not a expert developer, but I know some stuff about programmation (C and Mips mostly), and it could be easily implemented by using an array of adresses that "aim" to the good sound clip thanks to a setting. That must be like that for games in PAL anyway, but instead of a variable determined by the Switch settings, it could use a setting in the game settings. Or maybe the architecture of the switch prevents that, and then we're screwed.

Haha, funny you say that. In the middle of doing some online exercises for my university System Tools programming course. Currently working on Allocating and Deallocating memory for pointers on the heap in C. Aside from that though, I doubt it's based on the architecture or anything. It could possibly be a licensing issue with the Japanese VAs that prevents the Japanese voice options from coming to other regions.

Which I've done, and the ending did not change. I got all the masks because I wanted the Fierce Deity's Mask (which turned out to be quite useless in the end, unfortunately).

I remember now, the first time I beat the game I didn't get all the masks, because I gave up on the stupid Goron mini dungeon. Later I finally managed to do it, and I completed the game again. No change to the ending.

It's not so much a completely different ending, I believe it's a slight difference in the credits for certain NPCs. You probably didn't notice because it's not substantial or anything. Regardless, I look forward to seeing the alternate ending in BotW.

Uh, what? I've completed all the sidequests in the game and later finished it without doing so (because I don't like a lot of the sidequests and I don't even like most of the game in general) and the ending never changed.

I just checked and the requirements are that you get all the masks in the game.

Aside from that, I can see why English Zelda's cry isn't as dramatic, more soft sobs than anything. She's a level headed princess, and Aonuma said not to take that scene out of context. The Japanese version seems waaay too over the top. It was kind of cringey.

Makes no difference to me, I never would use Japanese voices anyway.

On another note, did anyone else hear that this game will have an alternate ending? I'm going to play through it twice to see both endings! Zelda's never had this before as far as I know, so it's really interesting!

Would Majora's Mask count since if you complete all the sidequests you get the "true" ending?

  15. I never really got into the earlier Advance Wars games, but I've spent possibly over a thousand hours playing Days of Ruin on the DS. I'd be down for a new Advance Wars game in general though. Perhaps they'll give it another shot seeing as FE had a huge success with Awakening.

  16. So it's apparent that it already fits somewhere in the established timeline, and that this takes place in a time where Ganon had already assaulted Hyrule many times in the past. I think that rules out the Skyward Sword sequel, would have to be one of the branching timelines in my opinion. I'm thinking most likely the Child Timeline after Twilight Princess or Four Swords Adventures, as the TP Castle Town ruins are seen several times. Not to mention all the connections Eiji Aonuma has made in past interviews. Either way, I look forward to when this game happens exactly.

Also in regards to the backstory, that would explain why Link was battling a warrior clad in red, wearing a Sheikah mask upside down.

    Spoiler

Possibly turned traitor after all the Sheikah were banished from Hyrule by the King.
