Looks like a Switch version is completely possible, but only if demand is shown. Not surprised considering it's running on UE4 which the Switch fully supports. Twitter is going crazy with people retweeting and asking for the Switch version. I really hope they do a port, even if it comes out after the initial release.

  2. In more recent years Fire Emblem has enjoyed great sales. Metroid on the other hand, not so much. I will say that Metroid tends to have a more vocal fanbase that really hypes up new games. I honestly feel more excited about the prospect of a Metroid Prime 4, than a new Fire Emblem. Something about it just feels exciting.

I was just saying what they may use as an excuse honestly, I meant to be sarcastic but came out 100% serious oops.

    Probably what you said tbh.

Oh I see, makes sense if you meant it with sarcasm. Honestly this isn't as bad as Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 not coming to 3DS or Switch, when MMLC1 sold more on 3DS than on PS4, XB1, and PC combined. That's right, COMBINED. Baffling how some companies fail to address their target audiences.

Probably an attempt for people to buy an Xbone in Japan, and maybe Arcsys thinks the Switch is too underpowered.

If the Switch can handle Xenoverse 2, I don't think this game should be a problem. My gut tells me they didn't get a dev kit when they started development, as is the case with many other companies.

  5. I really hope they don't bother talking about VC or Online features if they do plan to, in the Spotlight. They can do it during the Treehouse Live, or anytime after. I just don't want to lose time for new games to be shown, we only have what seems to be 25 minutes after all.

  6. It's now 25 minutes based on a Japanese page from Nintendo. If they announce things quickly with no filler, it can still work out. I am still puzzled why they choose to make it so short. They need to have a good E3 presence after all.

  7. Berkut was interesting, being raised the way he was and seeking acceptance all his life. The final fight with him was pretty tragic considering what he gave up to attain that power. Fernand was okay, though I agree the way he "redeemed" himself near the end was a little too rushed and out of nowhere in my opinion. I think his character did a decent job at highlighting the disdain held by some nobility against the common folk in Zofia. I have to say definitely better villains than the previous 3DS FEs though.

Because it may be, circumstantially, good design.

The point is moot for the Sacred Stones. However, in Blazing Blade, there is no grinding available (arena aside). You may find yourself in a situation where completing a map without casualties may be a tall order not because of poor strategy, but because of underlevelled units. That way, a player can still progress while sacrificing a unit that they will be able to revive later - but the limited revivals serve as a warning to better manage his units' growth from there on.

Now granted, you could just replace all that with "casual mode". But my point is that I'd like something in the middle, and for me that middle is something like that. I'm not looking for ways to trivialize content (such as the grinding areas in FE8 or the casual mode of later installments), merely something to alleviate the issue of sometimes having to perform a great number of resets in order to avoid losing a valuable unit.

Let's be honest. If you are playing Blazing Blade on any of the Normal Modes and your characters are underleveled, it's probably because you didn't spread the EXP across your units, and that's on you. I started the series with FE6 (I'd argue a more difficult game than FE7) without consulting a guide on strategy, and I had the common sense to make sure none of my units I wanted to use were lagging behind.

  9. Don't like it? Don't use it. Permadeath defines the series, removing it would be an insult to most FE fans I would think, myself included. The idea of resetting resonates with me, no matter how angry I get when a unit dies. It's that kind of situation that forces me to retry with a different strategy. Casual Mode takes the fun out of it the way I see. I don't exactly understand the question you are posing to be quite honest. If Casual exists, why ruin the fun of people who want Classic by removing it?

  10. Making the additional content free is BRILLIANT, definitely a great way to bring people in. That, and the Global Testpunch. I'm grabbing a Switch sometime in July, and I think ARMS has won me over now. Helix is bae by the way.
