  1. Banned because I unironically do in fact have a Twitter Account (Or should I call it X now? Eh, whateves).

Also Banned for having the honor of being the final person on Serenes Forest that I "ban" as well as being the last person I last I post to. Double Whammy!

Triple Banned because I can't believe the final post I ever make on this site (Assuming we're not counting the obligatory profile post I'm gonna do after submitting this reply) was in the "Ban the User Above You" thread of all things. For that, @King Marth 64, you have earned yourself a Triple Ban-ny Whammy Button of Shame. Be sure to put it on your wall or something.

Quadruple Banned because I felt like it. Go make yourself a sandwich or something as a reward for your good deeds.

  2. Oh crap, I've been forgetting to ban people for arbitrary reasons again. So uh... Here ya go, one more ban sticker to add to your portfolio!

*Banned Sticker of Approval by none other than yours truly, CyberZord! :)*

  3. Heya, DondeSommie! Welcome to the Forest of all things Serene-ity!

I adore Sommie from Engage but my favorite fire emblem game still is New Mystery. Fire Emblem as whole is still so wonderful and it holds a special place in my heart (and lives in my head rent free)

I'm a bit socially inept but I love sharing my creative endeavors with everyone and I try my best to be a lot more social.

New Mystery, eh? Why that game in particular? I have a self-imposed rule against emulation so I've never played that game.

Can't say I personally hold Fire Emblem as near and dear to my heart as you and most other people on this site do (Ironic, I know, since this IS a Fire Emblem fansite first and foremost) because I got into the series with Three Houses about 3 years ago. Mario is the series that holds a special place in my heart (Along with living in my head rent-free. Though I really should start charging to be honest). I still do quite like myself some Fire Emblem as it's in my top 3 Nintendo Franchises, only being beaten by The Legend of Zelda in 2nd place and the aforementioned Mario series in 1st.

Damn, I'd love to share my own stuff with the internets but I've been struggling with actually going through with it for a while now. Like, I've got a multitude of characters and ideas in my head but drawing it out and sharing it is the hard part for me. I'm also worried about what people will think of my potential artwork. Ah, but I'm going off-topic now. Forgive me if my struggles bored you, I know this isn't the best place for this but I feel like I need to vent somewhere or else I'll risk bottling up my emotions.

Anyways, that drawing looks very good, I take it you drew that yourself? What software was used to make it?

  4. I'd say the most likely game to receive a remake would be Genealogy of the Holy War considering that it seems to be very popular in Japan and it's the oldest FE game that hasn't received a remake, so that would be my guess. Thracia 776 could be paired with Genealogy as a DLC or combined into a bigger package which would kill two birds with one stone.

Binding Blade and Fire Emblem (I still can't get over the fact it's straight up just called "Fire Emblem" over here in the States)-AKA Blazing Blade or FE7- would be the next most likely considering they're older games from the GBA era. A remake combining both games would be pretty interesting to see considering both games are connected like FE4 & FE5 and FE9 & FE10 are.

As for Sacred Stones... potentially. Not as likely as the ones I mentioned above but more likely than the ones below.

Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn don't really need remakes (A simple remaster or port would suffice, tbh) but if they DID get remakes, I'd like to see them both combined into one big Fire Emblem remake game (Though that may be too ambitious a task to undertake).

Any Fire Emblem before Genealogy or after Radiant Dawn doesn't really have a chance of getting the remake treatment right now. But hey, maybe one day there could be a remake of Awakening and/or Fates (Which seems pretty wild to me, but I wouldn't complain if they ever happened).

  5. This thread seems pretty interesting. I'd hate for it to disappear into the backlog of pages of the General Gaming Forum while it's only got one reply, so here are some of my personal favorite character dynamics:

Parent and Child (Kratos and Atreus from God of War 2018. Jeralt and Byleth from FE: Three Houses)- When it comes to the Parent-Child Dynamic in gaming, the best example I can think of is from God of War 2018. Kratos and Atreus have such a great relationship throughout God of War 2018 and it feels very real. Atreus acts like a kid his age would with his kind of abilities and Kratos disciplines Atreus when needed while also showing great care for his son.

Three Houses, out of all FEs thus far, really used this dynamic the best. Most likely because most Fire Emblem parents last about as long as the gap between Pokémon releases, so it's nice to see some Father-Child bonding between Jeralt and Byleth before he too ends up falling victim to one of Intelligent Systems' favorite FE trends.

Best Friend of the Main Character turned Evil (Akira Nishikiyama from Yakuza Kiwami. Riku from Kingdom Hearts)- Akira Nishikiyama's friendship with series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu (For the first six games at least) is truly something to behold. Yakuza 0 provides perfect context for just how tight these two bros were before everything went downhill for them in Yakuza Kiwami. It's straight up tragic how the tale of the very first Yakuza game ends, but it was truly the best way a dynamic like this one could end.

Good Sibling vs Evil Sibling (Alexios & Kassandra from Assassin's Creed Odyssey. The Siblings from Astral Chain)- Now, this particular dynamic isn't one I see all that often in gaming unfortunately. Which is a shame because I love seeing siblings on opposing sides clash in media. In AC Odyssey, you could choose between Alexios or Kassandra as your protagonist. Whichever one you didn't choose ends up becoming a villain known as Deimos.

Astral Chain does something similar except it takes longer for the dynamic to kick in. I love it when games utilize both gender options and make them both serve a role in the story rather than leave one in the dust. It's sad that I've only seen two games that actually did this, I'd love to see it more in the future.

A Good Romantic Dynamic (Geralt and Yennefer from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Nathan and Elena from Uncharted. Most S-Supports from FE: Awakening to Three Houses. Most romances from the Mass Effect Trilogy)- Romantic relationships in Fire Emblem have always been of interest to me. Especially in Awakening and Fates because- assuming you S-rank units of opposing genders -you can create children that can be recruited into your army. The support conversations with the parents-to-be (I actually like Chrom X Sumia, sue me) are a joy to read and I love the conversations the kids have with their parents. Overall I'd say Fire Emblem does romance very well.

Mass Effect also does romance pretty good, and considering that you can continue the relationship across games, it only serves to make it even better. Now I'm not just saying that because it's the only game franchise I know of where you can romance humans AND aliens but... I totally am.

My name is Tiger21820, Master of Fire & Ice, and fan of Fire Emblem! Glad to meet all of you!

Nice to meet you too, my friend. I see you are an Administrator on Nintendo 3DS Central, quite interesting. I am an avid 3DS enjoyer myself. How is it over there?

Oh yeah, and welcome to the Forest of all things Serene (Except for those times when the Fog of War comes in and things get a bit clouded), I hope you enjoy your time on this site! 😄

Banned because CyberZord is the extramostbestest boi in the Serenity Forest and I am quite frankly insulted that you would dare to ever ban such a paragon of Cyber-ness, King Marth 64 (If that even is your real name!).

Banned for being such a kind old bean and defending my honor as a warrior of the Serenity Forest Forum Games section.

  8. For the Best Avatar, my vote's going towards Robin because, like @Use the Falchion said, he manages to be important to Awakening's story without taking away from Chrom (Time) or Lucina. As much as I love Three Houses, I kind of hate how Byleth steals Edelgard/Dimitri/Claude's thunder in each respective route. Same goes for Corrin and Alear.

As for the Worst Avatar, I'm gonna have to say Mark because he's such a blank slate that you could straight up remove him from the game and nothing would really change. Mark's such a nothingburger that I forget he's even in the game sometimes, and I'm pretty sure Eliwood, Lyn and Hector did too towards the end of Fire Emblem (Blazing Blade).

I agree, and that’s part of why Byleth is my least favorite avatar by a country mile. I hate the “silent protagonist that everything and everyone revolves around” trope with a passion.

Corrin is my favorite avatar, my favorite character in the series and probably my favorite protagonist and character in all of gaming.

I can see why people dislike Corrin, but I find her personality extremely endearing and charismatic and I enjoy the vast majority of Corrin’s supports. Speaking of that, I love how avatar S-supporting and marriage works in Fates. It doesn’t change the story or gameplay very much, yet it feels meaningful, and I love being able to interact after S-supporting. This is something I felt was lacking in Awakening. Corrin also has the best sidekicks/adjacent characters: Jakob, Felicia, Azura and the Nohrian royals. I love them all, and I’m also fond of Kaze and Silas.

I personally just hate silent protagonists in general (With a few exceptions like Link and Samus). Like, I can get immersed into a world with a voiced protagonist just as easily as I would with a silent one. I just prefer main characters that actually talk, really. Which is why I prefer Robin, Corrin, Shez and Alear as protagonists over Byleth (And I will forever be salty that Byleth actually talked in Three Hopes but not Three Houses). Y'know, I actually wouldn't have minded if Shez was the protagonist of Three Houses instead of Byleth. Would've been interesting to see how that would've worked, being a student at Garreg Mach instead of a professor.

Favorite character in all of gaming seems like a stretch considering how many great protagonists there are, but maybe I'm not seeing something in Corrin that you do. I mean, I don't hate Corrin, but the avatar worship paired with Fates' writing doesn't give me the best impression of him (I know you referred to Corrin as female, but I am way too attached to my tall, brown-haired Anakin Corrin that I can't see him in any other light. Except for that one time I did a FemCorrin playthrough and enjoyed it. Ah, screw it! They're both perfect options!).

I like how Awakening and Fates allowed for Gen 2 child units to be created through S-ranks, which made the S-Supports more special than in Three Houses. I personally prefer Awakening's execution with the children from the doomed future arriving to save the present (ALA Future Trunks) over Fates' rapidly aged children from those realm thingies, but that's just me.

I'd argue that Three Houses had the best supporting cast, but that would be best saved for another discussion entirely. I will say that I loved most of the Hoshidan cast, with the Hoshidan royals (Ryoma is my absolute favorite and he's a full-on gigachad. I WILL defend my extramostbestest boi at all costs), Saito and Kaze being my favorites of the Fates characters (The Nohrian royals are pretty nice and Arthur is bonafide Himbo material, but I've got a soft spot for Birthright so... yeah.). Silas is also pretty cool, too. He's got one of my favorite supports with Corrin (Even S-ranked him in my F!Corrin playthrough).

Pikmin has always sold decently--every game sold over a million copies, which is more than most Nintendo series can say--but it's still good to see Pikmin 4 doing well. It will sell a Pikmillion copies! Though Final Fantasy XVI is both PS5 exclusive and catered exclusively to Western tastes to attract the Call of Duty audience, so it's not an entirely fair comparison in terms of Japanese sales.

I was a bit apprehensive about Oatchi as a mechanic when he was first revealed, since I didn't want him to take too much focus away from the Pikmin, but I like how he was implemented as a leader/mega-Pikmin hybrid. Don't worry, Pikmin 2 has Louie so it's good.

Most Nintendo series, eh? I'm not sure about that, but I'm too lazy to do a simple internet search so I'd be pleasantly surprised if I found out Pikmin truly was one of the best selling Nintendo franchises considering it's in my top 5 favorite Nintendo IPs.

Hold up, you're telling me that Final Fantasy XVI was made to cater to me and my fellow Americans (Even though I stopped playing COD after Cold War)? Well, I oughta put that beautiful disc into my PS5 and play it one of these days... As soon as I finish a few other games in my backlog.

I'll take Oatchi over Louie any day of the week, considering Louie is...
