  1. Wow, Tiki was actually probably going to eat Anna. WOW. Now I have that image burned into my mind. Anna is also kind of a jerk in this. But what can we expect from the RNG goddess?
  2. I only really cheat when I can use things like save states, battle saves, and resetting for good level ups in Radiant Dawn (only reason why I had a Ike that could fufill the requirements for the Ike's memory scene, and why I had a Heather with 26 strength by endgame, and had a Meg that could actually fight well). I need to cut down, or just plain stop save stating, because I do it a lot. Other than those, nothing. I don't believe in editing the game itself to change the classes, weapons, etc.
  3. Pretty much what others have said. Good for killing off healers quickly so they aren't as much of a pest, and snipes flyers like nobody's business, which helps a lot in places like Michalis's chapter, or the endgame (even if he can't double EVER). Of course, there isn't much incentive to use him outside of personal preference, considering you get an almost carbon copy of him 2 chapters later, and his Arrowspate (the only Ballista he has access too) doesn't have too many uses, so he can only be used sparingly, and his carbon copy is marginally better in some stats, although not by much. He is a good unit, with great potential, but not amazing since, between him and the next Ballistician, there isn't much difference. Ballisticians themselves aren't godly anyways. 6/10
  4. I would say Linde is pretty dang awesome. She can wield Aura immediatly, which is, bar none, one of the most powerful weapons on the game, and it is coupled with a decent magic growth. Being a magic tome restricted to her or women with a B in tomes makes her pretty much the only possible wielder of Aura, since training any female character in this game to B in tomes is pretty much not going to happen. Of course, Linde is pretty frail, so while she can kick some serious ass, she is going to be hurting if anything so much as touches her. Other than her amazing power, she has some pretty decent growths, especially considering this game's penchant for lowish growths. She does start at level one however, so she is going to be behind since it is pretty much midgame when you get her. Overall, Linde is pretty solid as a unit, but pretty dang frail, and she also needs a bit of help to become awesome. Even so, she can be very good. 6/10
  5. Hmm. Well, barring the unavoidable Man, I feel Like a Woman reaction, since I can't choose between these two: Minerva: If I had my wyvern still, I would treat it like an amazing pet, and a fun ride (GOODBYE CARS), and with or without it, I would just deal with the normal implications of becoming the opposite gender, which, based on how Tripple J put it, would be annoying. Although, based on what my life is like, I could pass it off as a sex change and no one would notice the difference. I would also train with a sword or bow. Illyana: Other than the same problems and solutions of becoming a woman with my other choice, not much would change, since I am a little similar to Ills in some ways. However, I would train with a non-spell weapon, since spells probably won't exist in the real world, and, like my other choice, I would actually like to learn how to use a bow or sword one day.
  6. Oh YES. Minerva, oh how do I count the- *record scratch* Trying to be as unbiased as possible, Minerva is pretty badass. Her character is pretty cool, considering this games lack of character. Also, she comes right out of the box, ready to use the strongest axe in the game, which is a big boon, plus, her bases are fair. Unfortunatly, she is surpassed very easliy by other characters, since her bases are pretty much on par with your other units at that point, and, eventually, anyone can use Hauteclere (I do declare). and her growths do carry her a bit, but not good enough. Especially in wake of the Dracoknight possibilities in this game. All in all, she does pretty well for quite a few chapters, but has some issues with, well, quite a bit. 5/10 For the princess of Macedon.
  7. I never did say she was bad, it just goes like this: people are talking about her extreme lategame potential, which is what I talked about. She is good in the beginning, I will say that, as are most Oifayes (at least I think of her as one) but, raising Oscar and Kieran yield slightly better results. And like I said, she gets surpassed in stat averages at max level by level 7 or 8 (promoted) characters. She needs basically the same stuff Oscar and Kieran do, and then some, to be amazing as people say. Also, I am not going to post on this thread anymore, mainly since I don't want to derail its point.
  8. Okay, sure, she can be good if you give her all of that stuff, but think about this: she needs those to work. I will admit she can be good. Only problem is that if you give all of that stuff to Oscar with Axes as his promotion choice (although why I don't know, but roll with me), or you use Kieran, and their weapon ranks are high enough (by the way, don't forget that you no can has S-rank axe or lance in this game), they emulate her well. Also, supports with Titania give her at the most, 2 def (if i am correct). Her average (of Defense) at max Level is 18, which Oscar surapsses AT LEVEL SEVEN, and Kieran at 8. Oscar can even have a support (although with Janaff) to get the defense Titania can get with her supports. All three of these characters being mentioned are of the Cavalier/Paladin branch, so anything that Titania gets because she is a Paladin (only weakness to infrequent horse-killer weapons, Knight ward, Sol from the Occult scroll etc.) are able to be gotten with Oscar and Kieran. She does have availibility over those two, especially Kieran, but doesn't gain significant exp until quite a few chapters down the road, where she has bleh bases for LV 1 promoted. Also, if anyone misses my point, I am saying that she is rated at almost PERFECT (just a little bit above the Cain and Abel mimics), with all of that against her. Even with bias points, that is ridiculous. Also, excuse my very long rant, I usually don't like doing that. And if I offended anyone, my apologies, I just needed to say that.
  9. Mini-rant time. Why is Titania rated higher than everyone? I am not going to insult anybody, since I am not that kind of person, but why? She is okay in some aspects, being a crutch. Even so, if she's raised to level 20 (i am saying her MAX level, with base stats like 12 Str, and 11 Def), while decent on Speed and Skill, other stats average out on around 21 Str, 18 Def, and 15 res, which range from passable, to bleh. She isn't even going to gain exp significantly for a long while, and if you raise her earlier, she hogs it from everyone else. Later, she's a *insert synonym for female dog here* to raise. Why is she rated as the best unit in the game, and almost PERFECTLY RATED? Sure, being a Paladin is cool, but she is NOT perfect. I am just stating the facts, and just so confused, I don't think anyone can change my opinion of that rating being a little over-exaggerated.
  10. Rafiel. Some of his best qualities come from his ability to refresh four units, which is a big help, ESPECIALLY in the Dawn Brigade chapters, and even moreso Part one endgame, where you kind of have to move to get some stuff done, like stop the thieves. Even so, he has his bad parts. Always being stuck at 5 move kind of sucks, and transforming does little except raise his stats (and, in chapters where there are ledges, he can't climb them while transformed). Plus, there's the whole "No Canto" thing. Also, he has glass bones and paper skin, and dies if you shout too loud, like the other herons, pretty much. But that isn't really that bad, because of his purpose. All in all, he's decent. Nice to have around 8.5/10
  11. Oh god, now I am getting the idea of Naga being an announcer on NBA Jam. What. Just What.
  12. Oh Bantu. Bantu, Bantu, Ban-Ban, Bantu. He has his uses, I guess. After all, he is a decent hard hitter early on if you have his dragonstone. Although, he will be hurt pretty bad if anything so much as touches him after a while, and his growths carry him nowhere (20s and 10s in half of his stats),. Firestone bonus doesn't really do much. Ban-Ban is made of solid win despite that 10/10 Bantu, you have little use, but you can do something, I guess. 2.5/10
  13. I would have to say after a bit in the Grandmaster class, I may reclass him to Dragonmaster. I love me some Dracos.
  14. Isn't weight nonexistant in this game?
  15. I guess this is good for balance. Plus, the Tomahawk and the Spear seem fairly decent, so at least those will have some use. I am disowning the hand axes and javelins for being more fail than bronze weapons, however.
  16. You know what, never mind. I forgot about that.
  17. Okay true, but I am just curious how it would play out, despite it probably being an ABOLUTELY TERRIBLE idea.
  18. So, after watching a playthrough of Mario's Early Years, I had a crazy Idea. What if IS was crazy to make a Fire Emblem game marketed towards kids? Any ideas?
  19. It's Metroid backwards, which is why I clarified that I love Fire Emblem despite my name. Also, when I say imperfect characters, I mean characters like Meg, Fiona, Heather, and Illyana in RD (I will admit they are bad, but they are still usable), and also characters like Marth in SD, or Roy in FE6. All characters that are given copious amounts of hate, but aren't that bad (though they aren't godly units either).
  20. Well, hi. I am new to the forums here (depsite browsing the site itself for a long time) and I hope to enjoy sharing my opinions of games, my love for terrible mildly imperfect characters and just overall enjoyment of my favorite SRPG series!
