  1. yw, ana I can play a few, but I'm super scrubby.
  2. Hold down the R button as you're turning = drifting. The longer you hold the drift, you can get either blue or orange sparkles, and when you release you'll get a minor boost. I think you can also turn sharply by hopping, not really certain though. (Different controls might be different, so just press pause sometime and look for the drift button)
  3. SF Cup (MK8) goooooo~ Getting a little more organized sounds like a good idea, a whole 32 hour Nascar FFA spread us all out, I think. Shortening the time or establishing a few hours as a meetup time might gather everyone together. I think with the exception of Shotguner we were all in a reasonable time difference to arrange something.
  4. That's weird. Does your browser need an update / have some weird add-ons? Anyways GG's all, I might be back later on tonight.
  5. That one worked. I'll see if I can make it (what timezone?)
  6. Back on the original topic, maybe it's because they want to advertize a Virtual Console edition of the Tellius games later on?
  7. I made a post but it got lost :c Pretty liberal (think as long as it's within the screen you're fine), check out the wyvern and pegasi attacks. Typically 20~30, not sure about the duration. Imo, less than 5 seconds or even shorter for an animation that's going to see a lot of use. Dodges are a special case, think they're locked to 2 or 3 frames. I overlay the sprite positions over a screenshot or the basic templates from: http://serenesforest.net/sprite/new_tutorial.htm http://serenesforest.net/sprite/battle_adv.htm Most characters jump or slide into the enemy position, so tweaking the gap isn't difficult as long as it's not 1/4 of the screen. Last bit of advice if you're just starting, don't worry about making it game-ready too much, just have fun with it. ^^
  8. Optional Theme: Villianry (Aion, Garret, Morph Kenneth, Fado) Use at least three of the above mugs in your entry. RULES THAT YOU MUST FOLLOW: No mass 'made from scratch' areas. In other words, the final result should be made of and identifiable to areas from the source mugs. Only use the set given, no other mugs. Recommended color limit: 16 (15 on your mug +1 for background). This is a flexible rule, but be cautious with your color count as a general rule of thumb for good pixel art. You are allowed to deviate from the standard FE color choices if you want to do so. Don't vote for yourself or I will cry sad tears devoid of mod power. Hosts may enter contests. Only 1 mug per member. Winner of the contest will choose the next theme and a mug, runners-up will choose the remaining mugs once a theme has been decided. Voting consists of 2 categories: 'Best in Theme' (single choice) and 'Favorites' (multiple choice). 'Winner' is the popular vote for 'Best in Theme' and the runners-up are taken from the most popular two from both voting categories. If there is overlap (e.g. 2nd place is the same participant for both categories), a weighted average of the total votes will determine the remaining runner-ups. PARTICIPATION NOTES: In the past, there has been a lot of conflict surrounding what does and doesn't constitute proper splicing techniques. This is not the venue to repeat that argument (if you're interested in it, please look at old rounds between 50 and 65). Please remember to allow participants the freedom to experiment and find their comfort zone in splicing. Give them votes when you believe they're successful, but do not use their entry as a platform to tell the world what you don't like. If you have any questions or concerns, please PM the current host. Deadline: Saturday, June 14th, 2014 Have fun!
  9. Y'all can continue voting but I'm going to go ahead and declare a winner since the lead is pretty well ahead and the rest will get a mug pick regardless. Toa wins! Siuloir, L95, and Fuzz get runner up picks.
  10. Optional Theme: Winter and/or Armour Source Portraits: Heintz, Thoril, Renault, Isadora (at least 3) ----- 48 hours to vote!
  11. The start looks great! You and mew both had awesome WIPs for the theme this round.
  12. Same here~ We'll go ahead and extend the deadline to end of Saturday.
  13. Deadline is tomorrow! (Does anyone need/want an extension?)

    Animation request.

For a custom attack/critical/dodge and the thought of doing the same thing for a T2, it's a lot more time and effort investment than I (and probably most people) are willing to do for free. If you start the process yourself and need some help along the way, I'd be happy to help there~

    Animation request.

What're your plans for T2? Would it be easy enough to mod a myrmidon clip into Ephraim's standard animations?
  16. Self-insert and character deaths aren't related. Character death in a Fire Emblem fic seems entirely viable, and I think it's probably been done somewhere. There are enough units that don't really affect the main storyline that you can build a reader interest towards those and still kill them off. If you killed off one of the main lords or story-dependent self-inserts (Game Over screen), the main story would have to change enough to handle that. Mark sounds like the only self-insert that'd be easy to erase.
  17. Optional Theme: Winter and/or Armour Heintz, Thoril, Renault, Isadora Use at least three of the above mugs in your entry. RULES THAT YOU MUST FOLLOW: No mass 'made from scratch' areas. In other words, the final result should be made of and identifiable to areas from the source mugs. You can use any color palette. You aren't chained to FE colors, go ahead and recolor to your hearts content. Only use the set given, no other mugs. Recommended color limit: 16 (15 on your mug +1 for background). This is a flexible rule, but be cautious with your color count as a general rule of thumb for good pixel art. The winner will be determined by voting. If there is a tie, the poll will be edited to include only the ties, and re-voted upon. Don't vote for yourself or I will cry sad tears devoid of mod power. Hosts may enter contests. Only 1 mug per member. Winner of the contest will choose the next theme and a mug, runners-up will choose the remaining mugs once a theme has been decided. 18. 30 votes in, will go ahead and declare a winner. ShinyPichu wins! Everyone else gets runner-up.
  19. Regardless, man, you did a great job on making something fresh, and those animations are pretty sweet (good design, good expression, good cohesion, good cleanup/modwork all around). ^^ During the staff use clip, her waistcloth seems a little stiff/stickytotheleg compared to how it behaves during the other animations. No one else has mentioned it though and it seems pretty minor, so just a random note~
  20. Thanks for your feedback, guys. I think for now we'll just pare it down to 'Best in Theme' (single option) and 'Pick your Favorites' (multiple choice), public votes, with top 2 in each category getting to choose mugs (if there's overlap, then I'll work with combined ranking to determine who else gets mug dibs). For Multiple choice favorite, it's less efficient, but I think it shows feedback a little better (doing what Underdog was meant to do). The general range is good enough (3rd and 4th are currently swapped by a slim margin, #1 is still #1 by a good share of votes). Paired with public voting you can just take a particular person's judging tendencies as they are. (Did they just vote for their #1 favorite, do they vote across the board when everything appeals to them, do they choose to vote only for the best+next bests, any other unique things, etc.). So @Klok no you vote how you want, enough people choose to make their votes weigh in more on a particular entry (by not voting for others) that this method should be all right. ^^
