  1. It's not just about archers. It's that Javelins and Hand Axes are fucking broken. Weapons and skills worked out fine in FE5, although what IS would actually do is entirely irrelevant to this discussion, since as evidenced by the games they've attempted to make without Kaga, they aren't going to do jack shit. And a weapon with 30-40 uses isn't going to last long if it's the sole reason you use a unit. As for crossbows, I have to say that I'm again drawn to prefer the Berwick Saga take on it: Have separate types of arrows that can be used, primarily scaling Mt in exchange for cost and availability, allowing crossbows to increase their power as the game goes on without needing to use Str.
  2. Personal weapons can't be used all the time. And yeah, it's a highly significant advantage. Meanwhile, other characters would of course have other advantages of their own, often in the form of their own personal weapons or tactical skills. So, there's no issue.
  3. The two swords you mentioned can be sold for a combined total of 9000 gold, and the Return Ring costs 20000 gold. If she has the 10000 gold to afford the Thunder Sword, then if she exceeds that amount by 1000 gold or has another item with value 2000 gold or more (any staff would suffice), she can afford the Return Ring.
  4. Hand Axes and Javelins are unsalvageable, I'd say. Best to remove them completely, and leave physical 1-2 range to extremely rare weapons like Spears and Tomahawks, and maybe a couple of personal weapons.
  5. I don't know about the adapter, but the controller with the thing built in is $40. I was surprised, too.
  6. And yet apparently you couldn't be fucked to bother realizing the intended question rather than simply finding loopholes in the words used to shape it. Proposed additional rules for the clarity of those unable or unwilling to comprehend intentions for themselves: You can tell the shooter to shoot any of the three of you, and no one else. If anyone tries to leave without doing so, he shoots them. If you don't tell him to shoot anyone, well, you'll starve eventually. And no, no one else can help you.
  7. 1. Fire Emblem 5 2. Chrono Trigger 3. Super Metroid 4. Yoshi's Island 5. Final Fantasy VI 6. Fire Emblem 4 7. Super Mario World
  8. Wario fan here. I wouldn't cause it hilarious stupidity so much when he invented a working dimensional transporter, but left out an important secondary feature. But it's definitely hilarious something.
  9. Only the special edition, but yeah. Wish I had been aware of that; could have saved $30 as opposed to buying the controller separately.
  10. The killer is the one whose decisions and actions have determined that one of the three will die, in other words the gunman.
  11. This. Is. Amazing. 10 hours in so far.
  12. The intent of the question was clearly that the shooter will shoot whoever out of the three people previously noted that he is holding at gunpoint. This is not a difficult inference to make.
  13. Hey, don't belittle yourself like that.
  14. The baby, without a second thought.
  15. Golden Sun: The Lost Age. It's a big part of why it's my favorite video game overall.
  16. Maybe doubling the weapon's Mt would be better than doubling the unit's Str. Less effect to make up for hitting before counters and without burning through weapon uses.
  17. I couldn't care less about LTC and I still found Ayra and Lakche rarely keeping up, despite liking using them. Only game where I've had that problem in standard gameplay; it's definitely much more of an issue in FE4 than in other games.
  18. Midir takes until LV26 to match Jamka's base Skl on average.
  19. 1. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team 2. Chrono Trigger 3. Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story 4. Kirby Super Star Ultra 5. New Super Mario Bros. 6. Golden Sun: Dark Dawn 7. Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time Yeah that's about it. Never actually played the DS version of Chrono Trigger, but whatever.
  20. I've had the same experience. The only reason people ever think Midir has issues is because they think Jamka owns the Killer Bow.
  21. In other words, under that system, you never have to worry about lasting consequences of your actions, and you never make characters permanently distinct from one another.
  22. Valhalla moves one square to the side in comparison to the rest of the terrain between Ch5 and Final.
  23. It really depends on how freely skills can be taught to characters. It was limited perhaps too much in TRS and Berwick (I may be wrong about TRS; I don't know much about it), but then, that was because characters each had several innate skills out of a wide variety, which I would say is more important to getting the most out of the skill system than allowing the skills to be easily taught. But under a system where skills can be more freely taught, yes, I would agree with that idea.
  24. However the abilities are addressed, FE10's skill system needs to be kept far away from future games. Skills should never be something a character equips; they should be something a character is.
