Yes, it is hard to have "solid" opinions on somebody day 1, it rarely is the case that I have a "solid" opinion, I have guesses which is pretty much what I've said. You obviously "know" how NOC is played here. Unfortunately, there are more ways to play than just one (hard to believe right!). I am not discussing how NOC is played, I am discussing how the majority of people play NOC here and how that fits into my reasoning. I am not sure if you are just misunderstanding what I am attempting to convey, you don't want to, or you are so stuck to how you play that you simply cannot comprehend the angle I am coming from. Your insistence on what I am doing wrong pretty much backs up my point and has pretty much convinced me I am right. Maybe what I am doing is pointing out more of a fundamental flaw in how you are playing? My sense is sort of leans that way, but I'm not sure. I'm feeling fairly neutral on you right now until you figure out what I'm trying to say. Grassbridger / Kay / Kirsche seem to be sliding by maybe essbee maybe paperblade i feel something is off with their "voice" as in it doesn't sound real but that's more of a gut thing than anything and I am not sure i would support those two lynch (i just don't know). I think Weapons is actually busy and I don;t know it seems like people are also trying to take advantage of that ? I DK If you miss "relevant" things that is your fault for not reading closely enough. I did not include anything in there for the purpose of "fluff" believe me I have plenty of shit to do without that.

Alright so here's what is up: ##Lynch Shin (wow having two dudes with near identical names isn't confusing at all :/ ) (This was originally going to be about grass but I checked and I think shin is worse).I am fairly confident in this vote and here's why: There's an archetype to how NOC is played here: You post opinions or you get lynched. It's a good strategy for town in the sense that it forces people to take a conscious effort in the game or risk consequences. The issue is, is that if somebody breaks that or else deviates substantially from that path, it becomes problematic because people aren't sure how to respond. No, this wasn't a reaction test, I wish I was smart enough to do that. I play however I feel and go from there, but I digress. On track here, people don't know how to react in the sense that, they sense what I'm doing is wrong, and since it's not the village archetype, jump to the conclusion that it is scum. That's fine, it makes sense. If something doesn't fit the template, you discard it. Same thing applies. The issue becomes, the mafia knows all this because they've probably played a couple games or whatever (for the sake of this game I am assuming everyone is at least an average mafia player). And that means people who break that template become much more liable to be mislynched (me!!!). So who gives a fuck right? Like what does this have to do with shin and everything? Well, my thinking is that the mafia are more likely to really jump in on this and take advantage, ie push the lynch. Villagers are less likely to do this because they lack the info that mafia has; it is inherently bad village play to focus on one person (assuming everyone can figure out why). My thinking is that the mafia are more prone to do this in the sense that they have all info and therefore no incentive to really try as hard as villagers. Another issue with the archetype is that mafia easily slim through the cracks when people are focused on an obvious target. Red flags go up when people aren't posting opinions. And therein lies why I think Shin is scum. I feel he's very much slipped through the cracks in the sense that people see him post and go, "There's an opinion NEXT". What he has posted so far suggest to me an indifference to posting, meaning that it feels he is just trying to get by at the moment. The mafia have no other incentive to post other than to appear like a villager, and at times, the they are prone to getting lazy and not really trying hard because they have all the info. Meta could help me make a better judgement, but I don't have that so this I feel is the best of what I do have. It's the sort of behavior I think gets by unpunished because of all the interest in me. It might be that that people pushing me are town who genuinely believe I am mafia. Or maybe they are mafia trying to get an easy lynch. I think scorri is the latter. sangyul maybe the former? not as strong on that feel I was going to post something semi-inflammatory to the above but I decided not to. Be proud of me

If you dislike what I do in a way that you continue to pursue it or see it as scummy because I'm not playing how you are playing; that's fine to an extent. ummm well spam posts that say nothing in it "mask reads" but if you are saying one liners are "spam" have to disagree - every post communicates the mindset of a player so whatever they post obviously says something about a user otherwise they wouldn't be posting?? yes i know i hate to take up your precious "space" scorri but unfortunately i do not have to conform to how you or anyone else plays mafia. if you find that i am playing the "noob" card or not contributing, that's cool, then you can lynch me. i feel that giving reads 100% of the time is not a conductive way to play but agree to disagree sangyul do you (or anyone else for that matter) think I'm scum because of the no lynching idea? i haven't tried to make anyone feel bad so sorry if i hurt your feelings! don't feel like you are a bad person if you lynch me!!! if you take a fairly obvious comment that makes no attempt to hide the "appeal to emotion" I don't think you can really take it that seriously, it only becomes an issue when it's hidden but o well discussing mechanics is only important when the mechanics have changed in such a way that there may be another optimal strategy in play - i felt the mechanics were different enough that possibly warranted a different approach I find it hard to believe that anyone actually believes you cannot change your playstyle. Do you really believe this? Maybe, a better question is does everyone else actually believe this ? I ask this because this to me is a really weak attack on a defense because I think good players most definitely have the capability to change how they play, and it doesn't seem like a hard thing to do at all. So that seems "bad" as in scummy to me, but then again I get the feeling so far that everyone plays pretty much exactly the same in the sense that there's no variety in playstyles so this actually could be plausible. If it isn't though, then that looks opportunistic? I want to say since BBMs got pressure on him, and without going in depth seems to suggest that he is a good lynch.

ok but still assuming we can - yes flips are info, but in the case of today there's a better chance of mislynching (because today's lynch is pretty much random, even with a slight increase due to "scumhunting" still more likely to mislynch) meaning that we lose a role. obviously the ideal result would be to lynch mafia, but the odds are tilted in favor lynching a townie so if we don't lynch today then every villager still gets a role. throw this out if we can't nl, but i'm starting to think that this the optimal play because having an extra role is a benefit that will pay off in the future - mitigating the risk of taking a chance of hitting mafia

It's all about getting people to post, even "spam" has it's uses (strong opinion of the day pls). real talk lets no lynch day 1 - for all intents in purposes it shouldn't happen later in the game, so why not use it now when we have such little information? if we are forced to lynch (ie mafia gets a free kill and no roles are passed out) obviously that's a bad idea, but where's the risk in no lynching, and having more info to work with tomorrow. i'm also fairly sure that we are left w/ 1 vanilla townie which helps us out kill wise. or u can lynch me because i "literally" have no "legitimate" view (because apparently there is such a thing as an illegitimate view???)

what is a "legit" OMGUS because i am struggling to find anything that is "legitimate" about it OMGUS is a nice excuse that mafia can use to be like "heeeeeey OMGUS that's a scum tell lynch him quick!" when in reality it means nothing !!! i falter under pressure pls stop voting me personally i think we should look at users who aren't bothering to post - not just the ones who haven't posted at all, but short stuff that's hasn't added much to the game. yep because clearly the one way to mafia is your way thanks for enlightening me Because honestly, it doesn't really mean anything. i may not canonically win or whatever, but everyone knows that I was part of the village that won. You can think I lost, that's fine. But I know (and I am sure there are others too) that I won the game along with the rest of the village. Saying that I receive "no benefit whatsoever" isn't true (but then again what benefit are we playing for again?).Again this problem is easily solved with what prims said so no need to discuss that again. Your last sentece is both incorrect and wrong. I didn't spoil the game for "everyone." I made the best of a crappy situation not just brought on by myself, but by everyone else as well. I may not have played perfectly, but neither were the people playing in the game at the time. Saying I ruined the game is ridiculous because I didn't. It might be different if it was day 1 or whatever but it wasn't. If you don't think I won, then fine that's your opinion and then your statement becomes valid, but the truth of the matter is that you are wrong. Sorry. I don't mind defending myself from people who think what i did is bad or whatever but you don't need to personally attack and question my morality. thanks

The attitude of Bluedoom's latest post seems to be "Yeah I was carrying this village and you shouldn't lynch me even though the things I did were based off flawed reasoning." SB also pointed out the many contradictions in his last post, which is a strong scum tell for me. Those contradictions to me are a sign that Bluedoom is probably scum. I'd still prefer taking the safer route of No Lynching, but I'm ok with this lynch based on his recent (poor) posting.

Like I said the analogy. I was talking about fouling late in the game when you are down in the hopes that the opponent will miss his free throws so your team can regain possession. Obviously you didn't bother to read my post (a recurring theme) so don't make uninformed comments when you don't know what you are talking about. i don't really care seeing that i won't be joining your game because i am a terrible guy because i am a cheater blah blah blah

If you don't want someone do something, you have to make a harsh enough punishment so no one does it. No disrespect to Strider at all, I enjoyed the game thorougly, but the thing is you play to win, and if that involves a tactical modkill or whatever then yeah, you do it. I play to win, and if you don't like it I'm sorry. It has nothing to do with "showing a certain disregard for the implicit rules of the game;" the goal is to win, and that's what I wanted to do. End story: There's a super easy fix so that this doesn't happen again, and if hosts don't want it to happen then put in rules to make sure it doesn't happen. Getting mad at people who "take advantage" at the rules or however you want to put it is silly. Refer to the analogy on basketball fouls. Would you call that an implicit disregard for the rules of basketball?
