  1. Srsly tho, I liked Eudes >>> Owain a lot. Owain sounds great; medieval, fitting with the times. That was a classy choice. In the same vein, Viole >>> Virion was another prudent localization. Serena >>> Severa was also well done, considering her personality. Worst localization was Noir >>> Noire, imo. It sounds fine in Japanese, but not like a person's name in English. I'm not too fond of Riviera >>> Libra for the same reason. My fan translations were Noir >>> Naomi (or Nora, Noelle, etc) and Riviera >>> Lionel.

  3. Why sir. I can assure you, I am a graduate of the Emily Post School of Conversation and Decorum. If my rather salt of the earth reference has offended, I do beg your pardon.
  4. I was lost, but now I am found. How ironic that the one man who created this most auspicious of threads should now contribute to its decline.
  5. Alas, I am not so wise. I endeavored in vain for about three minutes, remiss to find it.
  6. I have to second this. And on that note, good morning, my good sirs. Would it be a terrible imposition if a lady joined this discussion? I stress "lady" and not "woman." I should think my monocle and top hat mute testimony to my most genteel of pedigrees.
  7. Happy birthday aizengard ^^

  8. Happy birthday Makaze! =)

  9. If I may~. I'm *kinda* obsessed with Dawn's Platinum outfit. I like winter clothing in general, so I thought it was cool that Nintendo branched out a little. And I love the dress, boots, scarf, etc. Everything just goes together perfectly. She also has my favorite hairstyle, together with Leaf (long, not too ornate). As for the guys, I have a soft spot for FR/LG Red. I love his serious, determined look, and the classic clothes. Nintendo has a habit of making the dudes a little bit femme, but Red is dashing. =3
  10. "With its trademark leaf always sticking out of its mouth, Pancham tries to intimidate its opponents by glaring at them intensely (although this is rarely successful)." -- Pancham's description from the website Now I think Pancham is adorable. ;=; That's so cute. nuu Scrubcham
  11. [spoiler=Diagram of Player Characters] Since the design for the player characters from X/Y was unveiled, I've been thinking about the past character designs. Which is your favorite player character design, in terms of hair style/color, clothing, etc.? Btw, it's possible to change the main character's appearance and clothing in X/Y (according to the official site), so please judge them by the default style in the diagram. I got the names of the characters off of Bulbapedia, so I hope they're all right. Also, thanks to Bulbapedia for providing that artwork.
  12. All the Brady hate ITT is making me sad. ;=; VaikexMaribellexBrady otf. I'm pretty bad about using characters based on stats. Personality counts for some too. </3 Yarne is pretty much perma-benched, just because I found Panne so uninteresting.
  13. In other news, I'm hyped for X/Y. =) I've been waiting for Nintendo to get rid of the 2D for years. I gotta say though, the 3D is still a little...rough around the edges. ;=; ungrateful/10 Btw, what's up with the main dood's cat eye glasses. Edit: HMMM.
  14. My dad showed me some old keychains yesterday and asked which Pokes they were. It was so reassuring to recognize Blastoise and Nidoking. ;=; The other day someone mentioned "Virizion," and I thought they were typing "Verizon" and had a stroke. When I realized it was a new Poke my heart sank. Them 150...aaah. #oldpeopleremember
  15. *gets knocked down by a dead pegasus knight* Oooof. *struggles to get up, and flings a Goddess Staff*
  16. Oh, come on. These topics are fun. Then again Stolypin =/= fun.
  17. Oh, wow. ^^ Top score so far. #7 was mean. =/ Sigh. Getting #8 right was a complete guess; I didn't know the technical term "gerund." Also, the one about the brother named Hilary felt like a cheap trick question. I managed to decipher what they were getting at, but it was too convoluted to be serviceable. "I'd like to introduce you to my sister Clara, who lives in Madrid, to Benedict, my brother who doesn't, and to my only other sibling, Hilary." It took me a minute, but I could see they were trying to emphasize "Benedict, my brother who doesn't," implying that the person has another brother. And then they awkwardly tacked on "and my only other sibling, Hilary." I can see how the answer is male, but yeah -- it's a ridiculous sentence.
  18. Happy adulthood +1, Rei! =3
