Honestly, I don't think that they've been changed too much. Looking at the Gaiden artwork, aside from the MAJOR characters and a few outliers, a lot of them looked like carbon copies of another, so them receiving redesigns that make them stand out in Echoes is nice. Gray and Kliff are two characters that looked a like in Gaiden and made it hard to tell which one was which at times. As for Genny and Boey, I was able to determine who they were based on subtle details of their designs. Boey's circlet gave him away for me.

I receive tweet notifications from Nintendo Everything and Nintendo Wire and they usually post when pre-orders for anything Nintendo goes up for pre-orders. To my knowledge, they haven't tweeted anything about the Alm and Celica amiibo 2-pack going up for pre-order.

I know if you don't cancel it and don't pick it up, you don't get a refund on your $5 deposit. You're also charged a $5 restocking fee if you pre-order online and have it shipped to store (not an option for the Limited edition), though. I'm also pretty sure that GameStop might have you put down more than just $5 when it comes to limited/special editions. I think I had to put down $25 for the Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE special edition.

Eheheh...If anyone has paid attention to my activity on these forums, they'd know that I'm mostly active a few months before a new entry up until the game's release and then I disappear until the next entry is close to releasing.

It wouldn't surprise me if this was done on purpose since Gaiden is a side-story that takes place after the first game and it's meant to be a parallel of said game. Especially when you consider in Japan, Echoes' subtitle is "Another Hero-King"

I wouldn't be surprised if that was actually the inspiration for the Illusory Marth artwork.

Yes GameStop might not be one's first choice to get games, but they tend to be good with having special editions or limited editions of games available for pre-order physically in-store. It might be a good idea to call your store ahead of time to avoid making a trip if they don't have them available.

I just realized. The Illusory Hero artwork of Robin, Marth, and Roy are drawn by Hidari. I do hope/wish we'll get to see them with faces in some artwork, though. XD

So it is indeed. That's rather an interesting choice. Part of me was kind of hoping it was drawn by Hidari, but the same layout of the original box art. Not complaining, though.

I'm still thinking that instead of Stephanie Sheh being Genny, it's Xanthe Huyhn. Though, that's 95% of me being hopeful for that.

I personally don't have an issue with the village exploration. Like someone previously said, it reminds me of the investigation part of the Ace Attorney series and even the Professor Layton series.

Even though I know they're most likely dragon gods, I kind of wish that Mila and Duma would be mistakenly interpreted as dragon gods by people and that they were more humanoid like Ashera from Tellius.

Well, this is definitely interesting. The phantoms are a little off-putting at first, though.

Only reason I knew about the Limited Edition being available on Amazon was because I receive twitter notifications from two Nintendo based websites and they usually update when pre-orders go up on certain sites.

I know the original post mentions this "with reversible cover that seems to resemble the original Gaiden one." Behind the image of the 3DS case, you can barely make out the reverse side of the game's artwork, which does indeed resemble the Gaiden boxart. It's just hard to tell if it's EXACTLY the Gaiden artwork or if it's Hidari's recreation of it.

I'm not overly concerned with them not showing the Whitewings or revealing all of the characters so far. We still have a few weeks before the Japanese release and in that time we'll probably get more information. That being said, I don't really want too much to be revealed before the game's release since that would somewhat spoil the excitement even if it's just a remake.

I've never heard of GameStop doing that before. You must have some really nice employees at that GameStop.

In regards to the Fates special edition, that was supposedly due to a glitch in their systems that accidentally reopened pre-orders for it even though they didn't have any more pre-orders allocated for that.

Yeah. Especially since isn't the traditional falchion more of a saber than a sword? Either way, I wouldn't be disappointed if they didn't give Alm his personal special sword.

Tbh, it kind of just seems like Falchion is a catch-all term for the legendary swords that can slay dragons in the Archanea games.

Hmm. I wonder if Mathilda will wear a helmet/forehead guard/whatever you might want to call it. Nice to see that Clair's hair color matches Clive since they're siblings. And as for the mysterious tan cavalier, I kind of hope he's a original to Echoes since we did get Faye on Alm's route.

Kind of related to the Limited Edition being announced, but kind of not related, but I can't wait until we can get a clean image of the Alm and Celica artwork on the front of the limited edition box. Also, I do wonder how the alternative cover for the game looks since it's mean to resemble the Gaiden box art. I wonder if it'll be the same layout and just in Hidari's artstyle or something else.

While I found the "modern Fire Emblem mechanics" have no use in the battlefield of Echoes line amusing, I feel like it started a boulder of elitist FE fans attacking the 3DS FE games for no reason. Yes, the 3DS FE games weren't perfect by any means, but in all honesty, neither were any other FE game. Also, pretty sure the Two Armies part of the trailer was just meant to show that you'll be playing as both Alm and Celica at the same time for most of the game, hence two armies. Would've been nice if they had elaborated on the characters of the armies, though.

Walden James would be good for some of the older characters. Though, it's hard to speculate who he might voice (if he were in the game) since he's still an enigmatic person. XD Also, hey HylianBelmont. Haven't seen you on here in a while. On another note, I noticed that Celica sounded a lot like Magilou (Erica Lindbeck) when she was attacking someone during the split screen that showed Alm and Celica in the Two Armies trailer.

I pre-ordered this as soon as I got out of class today. The pre-orders went up mid-way through my Marketing class, so I was anxious to get it pre-ordered. Thankfully I did.
