  2. Dominion? I was always more of a Catan man. I always liked my armored sheep.
  3. Are you saying I just got trolled by James f-in' Joyce!? This is ridiculous. BTW, the answers are Herbert West, Reanimator, and Wanna Bet?.
  4. Pah, Joyce. The real question here should be "Best Lovecraft Short Story in The Dunwitch Horror and Other Tales". Or perhaps, "Best Weiss and Hickman Short Story in The Second Generation". <_< *Is definitely not covering for the fact has read no Joyce*
  5. Your love gives me such a thrill / but your lovin' don't pay mah bills. I need Money (that's what I want). :P
  6. The best things in life are free, but you can give them to the birds and the bees. Money (thats what I want)! :D <_<
  7. Hurt Norway, heal Switzerland. <_<
  8. Concept art is wasted on plebs.
  9. Women are shallow, weak, and impure. I have no desire to sully my manly honor by cavorting with them. Anyways, everyone know the internet is NO GURLS ALLOWED.

Engage in your positivist fantasies all you want--it is self evident that your "truth" is a lie. You construct fortresses of your own circular logic and then insist that you have somehow found "the way". The universe can't be reduced to a series of abstract conceptions--everything about your "truth" kills what is the soul of life. You seek to deny and shut out the truth of existence with your small minded quibbling about degree and definition. Life itself rebels against the tyranny of your pettiness.

Exactly the sort of Modernist arrogance that incenses me. Can't you even see past your own nose? You're all so enamored of your own intelligence its disgusting. This discussion is over.

Untranslated Latin? Funny, for someone who claims to be so critical of the Modernists, you engage in such Modernists pastiche. If there's one thing in this world I cant stand its the kind of hypocrites like you on their high horses, who try and play the world like a fiddle. Disgusting. While I appreciate that you know your Goethe, I'm not sure you actually understand it.

Moved on to the Analytic Philosophers over break. I'm reading Wittgenstein Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus and Husslers Philosophie der Arithmetik, as well as a slightly unrelated re-reading of Goethe's Faust, Part I. What a classic story--I can't just be help blown away every by the sublime beauty of Goethe's verse. There's just something so moving the way he has with words--with such skill does he craft the torment and spiritual void of Faustus's existence I'm entranced every time.
  15. Whatever. I don't really like anything but Dragon Quest anyways, so it doesn't really matter.
  16. You could try out the DS remake of Dragon Quest VI if you haven't already--one of the greatest JRPG's ever, IMHO. Also, seconding the recommendation for Fallout: New Vegas (it's not really an FPS at all). You should really look for one the radio extender mods, they give the game a lot more life. If you haven't already you should also play KotOR 1 and give II chance, it was prepared to be one of the greatest CRPG's ever, and you can kind of see it if you use one of the content restoration projects, which are really good. Also: Planesacpe: Torment. Play it. Now. No one can properly call themselves a Role Playing gamer until they've beaten this. Some other good classics, inculde Arcanum, the first two Fallouts (III is utterly missable), and Baldurs Gate I and II, all of which you can get dirt cheap (and on sale) on GoG. If you like 4x's, you should also really cheack out Masters of Orion I and II, which they have on GoG as well.
  17. If you say so. But self-righteous indignation is half the fun, so I think you're the one who's missing out.
  18. Five bucks on gamers gate and there's no Copy Protection either. So you actually get to OWN your game, as opposed to a conditional rental.
  19. I haven't seen all of them, but the original at least has a real robot pastiche even if it doesn't make any attempts at realism.
  20. Don't really care all that much either way, but I tend to like Real Robot shows a lot more (Macross, Garasaki, Patlabor...) so I'll go with that. I never thought it was that entertaining to watch big machines take thawks at each other, but the "real robot" genera holds things more to my taste.
  21. Personally, I prefer Gatsby's shirts. They're just so beautiful. And soft.
  22. See, that takes all the spontaneity and serendipity out of it for me. For me role-play is about act of group creation, an exercise in shared imagination, and half the fun is just being there. I feel like such a mechanical system just turns it into a just a game, like it was postal diplomacy or something like that. Some people can still dig it, but I don’t. Good luck, though.
  23. Fuckin' hell man--don't you know there are a lot of humorless dicks out there whose feelings you might be hurting right now?
