  2. you'll want to edit the palette directly instead of inserting a new animation

In order to do this, FEditor has to relocate the animation array -- there's only so much space for animations in the original place, so it needs to move the array somewhere new (which is why it's being relocated). I'm not sure how you're "fixing it" with a "simple hex edit", but I'd imagine that's more likely to cause problems than what FEditor's doing. As for why it's suddenly expanding all the way to 0xFF, chances are it's an oddity with the older build of FEditor. You aren't trying to use different versions of FEditor on the same ROM, are you?
  4. use Usenti to make sure that you absolutely didn't miss any colors (they like to sneak into sprites) -- there should be one row or less in the palette viewer on the right side.
  5. recent builds of EN have recently become FEditor-incompatible but I forget if any of them have been released

  7. I was wrong; I misread the file you gave me. Let's break down exactly what this cmd file does: cd %~dp0 copy "Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones (U).gba" "Kcah Melbme Erif.gba" cd "%~dp0EventAssembler" Core AF E8 "output:%~dp0KcahMelbmeErif.gba" "-input:%~dp0ROMBuildfile.txt" pause %~dp0 is drive and path of the 0th argument (that is, the batch file itself). cd is "see directory" -- so we're entering the folder that the batch file lives in. copy is self-explanatory cd "%~dp0EventAssembler" moves into the subdirectory "EventAssembler" (spelled exactly like that, spaces and everything) from the path of the batch file Core A FE8 is "run the EA Core executable with arguments A and FE8". If you've been keeping track, A stands for Assemble. So if your command prompt is not recognizing Core, it's likely that it's either in the wrong folder or your version of EA is outdated (unlikely; EA has included the Core executable for years before make hack was a thing)
  8. the file MAKE HACK.cmd should be in the same folder as the Event Assembler executable -- there's a file called Core in that folder as well. This is what MAKE HACK.cmd relies on Just kidding! It should be the folder immediately outside of EA

Sylvan Shrine - free saved this one to train delthea a bit. promoted silque as well Border - 6/219 turns i hate everything; if i hadn't gotten a few nice levels from this map i would have reset it. this map could be described succinctly as "i missed -- the map" two witches spawned from Nuibaba while I went back to forge Rigel Forest - 4/223 turns warp alm to the left side zzzz Fear Mountain - 4/227 turns warp alm, warp gray, forsyth solos the bottom, delthea gets stragglers zzz Nuibaba's Abode - 6/233 turns I had to warp Alm in and out a few times because he couldn't survive too many mires at once. In hindsight, it may have been better to warp Gray once and call it a day, but meh. Fear Mountain Shrine - free Delthea and Forsyth promoted. mostly was used to train Tatiana. Dead Man's Mire - 8/189 turns swamp maps best maps Mire Boneyard - 2/191 turns lol Dolth Keep - 8/199 turns hit two skirmishes thanks to necrodragon spawns because I ran back to forge something fml Forest of the Lost - free Deen and Atlas promoted (Atlas only to Paladin, though) Duma Gate - 8/207 turns deen and saber ran down the middle. i lost two turns to deen not critting some things but meh. Swamps of Duma - 6/213 turns Rigged a Ragnarok Omega crit on Duma, because why not. Duma Tower - free Focused on getting Atlas kills for GK more than anything else. Kind of sucks that I won't be able to use any of the silver I get here, but whatever. I don't remember who got what springs, but whatever. Forgot to get stats, will do before I start the final map.
  13. fun fact: base forsyth gets ORKOd by witches so i had to drop him for a few maps Battle of Northern Zofia - 6/151 turns witches suck. at least silque can warp now Battle of Zofia Forest 1 - 5/156 turns arcanists suck and more importantly forest sucks Berkut 1 - 2/158 turns could probably have one turned it but meh i'm already so behind Desaix - 6/164 turns warped alm into the middle of the fortress, got forsyth some kills (he no longer is ORKOd by witches!), faye solod desaix, etc etc base mathilda is stronger than most of my army fml hit three skirmishes while moving back and forth between zofia castle and shit Battle of Zofia Forest 2 - 5/169 turns Silque missed every Nosferatu (seven) in my initial run of this map, using up all of my turnwheels and still couldn't survive the turn. Also, this marks the first map that Forsyth actually did something useful -- if he wasn't around, I'd need to chase cavs back to the supplies every time, which kind of sucked. Gray was 1 ATK off of killing generic cavs q_q gonna save sylvan shrine to train doot/tatiana, but ran through without fighting to promote faye to saint and forsyth to thwomp. gray is like 10 exp off from DF which kind of blows but wtv Forest Northside - 6/175 turns Predictably, Gray is 1 atk off from ORKOing archers. Also archers, on a map in which I have basically only swordies and thwomps and slow-ass clerics.   14. looks like Cav Atlas it is Dragon Shrine - free i ran into two fucking super enemies. i'm glad for the exp, but like what Temple of Mila - 7/145 turns wow that sucked. nobody other than celica (4 mov) and saber (gets chokepointed) can survive more than one enemy sorceror at once. was hoping to get rag omega by now, but alas. also, whaddayaknow, a paladin spawned right as i fought this map. i hate everything. 12 skirmishes gave kliff two levels via exp water so he could promote.   15. so it turns out that i wasn't supposed to do merc atlas; gonna stop playing until i figure out what to do. i'm considering just forking him since i'm a ton of maps past promoting him. i wanted to fork forsyth but guess this is what comes of being Stupid

Also ATLAS GET While walking to promote Kliff and Atlas, I encountered 2 skirmishes (one graveyard and one cantor). there was also a bandit skirmish at the desert stronghold (that might be 3?) Desert Stronghold - 11/112 turns DESERT MAPS BEST MAPS ALSO ARCHER KLIFF IS FUCKING USELESS also ran into a bandit skirmish on the way out (4) Sonya - 7/119 turns kliff is still garbage but he can promote (and so can saber <3 ) a fucking bandit spawned every turn on my way to promote saber and kliff -- currently at seven skirmishes Grieth - 13/132 turns I legitimately don't think I've ever seen so many ~80% hits miss in a single map. I had to reset six times before Kliff would hit the sniper with an 88% curved shot on turn 1. it doens't help that saber is, as usual, 1 atk off from ORKOing bonewalkers hit five more skirmishes (god why) while walking to atlas' village and also the port. eleven Mountain Graveyard - 6/138 turns Saber Kills Everything: The Map

Seabound Shrine Interior - free Saber promoted, both got one level, Saber gets +2 res, Celica gets +1 skl +2 hp yada yada Pirates 4 - 4/81 probably could have done it a turn faster but saber couldn't ORKO mercs until he proc'd str Pirates 5 - 6/87 it is unbelievably frustrating to have a saber that is 1 atk off from ORKOing these nerds Zofia Castle - 4/91 i think i fucked up my celica movement but oh well
  18. make each AREA event check the others before activating if you want to ensure that they're still pressed, unset each button's event ID every turn with a turn event, then put the same AREA events in your TurnEvents array to re-set them

  20. celica gets +2 spd +1 atk Novis Cemetary - 5/48 Celica missed seven 80% fires, but I don't think it actually changed anything Pirates 1 - 6/54 maybe i could have positioned saber more smartly but i don't think so. wasted a few turns because pirates decided to heal instead of hitting me Pirates 2 - 8/62 idk how people are clearing this so fast; i spent at least two turns chasing pirates around when they ran to heal Pirate's Throne - 6/68 i had to do this twice; barth crit saber at 2 hp and valbar finished him off so i couldn't turnwheel. i swear i had 5 turns before, but i couldn't remember how i walked saber around the pirate spam in time. oh well. stole PKL's trick and deployed boey to stand on the supplies Pirates 3 - 6/74 i fucking hate this map. saber couldn't ORKO summons, had 47 hit on the boss, celica couldn't kill the boss even with a crit and she died also, this happened, except it actually didn't because celica died that run. i hate everything

  22. Prologue - whocares/0 turns i fed alm a kill for shits Ram Woods - 3/3 turns In theory I think I could have two-turned it, but I had to get Faye EXP somehow. I'm leaving Kliff for Celica because I just realized that my team consists of literally Celica and Saber until Atlas and Deen join Fleecer's Forest - 5/8 turns everyone running away and faye does no damage aaaaa Thieves' Shrine - free Alm crit the boss turn one, so rip my exp. Faye promoted (MISSION SUCCESS), Alm gets +3 speed. In hindsight, it might have been beneficial to make sure Faye is a reasonable combatant, but on the other hand i refuse to rely on Nosferatu hitting for turncounts Ram Valley - 9/17 turns I have no idea how the fuck you're supposed to kill that merc quickly - he just walks down the fucking hill and you have to wait for him fgsds. Also he crit Gray on a turn where Gray got an awesome levelup, but when I redid that turn with the turnwheel the merc went out of his way to suicide onto Faye instead so fuck you Southern Outpost - 7/24 turns I could have done it a turn or two faster if I'd been smarter with my usage of Faye, but whatever. Faye actually solod the boss while Alm and Gray ran up the sides. That archer was an asshole and dodged three fatal nosferatus Southern Zofia 1 - 4/28 turns Faye basically solo'd this map. I got lucky with Nosferatu hitrates, admittedly ("i refuse to rely on Nosferatu hitting" kappa), but she is actually almost onerounding so it's pretty worth. Southern Zofia 2 - 4/32 turns lightning sword double attacks oneround literally every enemy on the map it was also around here that i realized that silque was free and i fucked up. i did my best to dodge encounters when returning to thieves' shrine but i think i may have hit one on accident
