  1. if you're looking for static disassembly, i'm not actually sure we have any - zahlman attempted a few years ago but I'm not sure if he got anywhere. if disassembly+debugging is fine with you, you can try VBA's diassembly viewer or no$debugger if you need something more powerful
  2. the problem with the buildfile method is that it's very difficult to diagnose and fix user error if you don't know what you're doing

  7. they're still there, they just aren't labeled if you want an "indestructible (0x8) magic (0x2) weapon (0x1)", for example, you put 0x1+0x2+0x8 = 0xD 0xB. e: note to self, you suck at addition
  8. what explanation are you looking for beyond "the turn system wasn't as central to the gameplay for me [MCP] as you're making it out to be" edit: to weigh in on my opinion of this, i also didn't find the turn order to be a particularly centralizing part of gameplay

  10. yes, it is possible to like a game without gameplay. believe it or not, some people play games for plot, or for atmosphere, or even because their waifu is in it and no other reason never mind that i (and presumably MCP) don't even agree that the phase difference is the core part of the gameplay or whatever "cool, tell me more"? it makes sense to me? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  12. I've had this problem as well. There's no easy workaround, beyond wizarding some assembly magic up for this use case
  13. i'm firmly of the opinion that ike doesn't exist and the character we know as "ike" is actually corrin in disguise, sent back in time to prevent the tellius catastrophe that started the elibian scouring you can read all about it in my new fanfiction coming soon starring my original character
  14. you'll want to reset event ID 0x3 (and probably 0x1 and 0x2 as well) 0x2 is "boss killed" and 0x3 is "seize". when you LOMA, it doesn't reset any event IDs set during the map, so the game checks whether "seize" has been triggered and decides "welp"
  15. tiltyu was my #1 draft pick for the longest time before we realized that arthur isn't actually that strong in speed play and getting her paired with whoever is ass as a combatant, she's frail and doesn't even do that much damage without wrath (thoron hurts, but so does, say, Alec using a Steel Sword for almost the same damage), has 5 mov and is generally utterly terrible. she does get some points for losing in the arena->nuking things with wrath, but that's about it. 2/10

  18. "not quite as helpful in a casual run" I am legitimately curious as to what kind of run allows you to spend 43 minutes grinding slim sword kills on reinforcements for a niche (at best) purpose that isn't "a casual run"
  19. i mean, does lakche *really* need ten thousand speed growth to do damage with magic swords? ayra is much better being paired off with someone like dew, who can give her kids valuable skills like bargain, since the swordtwins have so much trouble clearing the arena you heard it here first, folks - levin/ayra is the definition of a gimmicky pairing
  20. did you tell the prologue to look for a world map scene in the chapter data editor

MAKEHACK.cmd literally uses nothing but event assembler, so if you don't have it (as you seemed to have indicated in the previous thread) it won't actually make any changes secondly, MAKEHACK.cmd as a script should just output a new ROM by itself, not a UPS - there's a secondary tool that creates the UPS from the modified ROM
  22. on the off chance anybody else stumbles on this topic and wonders what the solution was (OP, next time, if you find the solution on your own please tell us what you did!), the mistake that I see is that the line EventPointerTable(0x1, ThisChapter)is writing the events to pointer 0x1 in the event table, which is not the prologue events but actually the graphics for the Sacae Plains tileset. Obviously, event data isn't quite the same thing as a compressed graphic, so it just breaks and resets.

  24. why does a unit that is monstrous under the condition of being "used correctly" (whatever that means) be considered better than a unit that is just as mounstrous with no such strings attached? bolded the important word which are amazing at which point in time enemies are giving actual EXP and camilla will thus not be at base stats this is completely irrelevant the big thing here is that while elise can get to ultra turbo ridiculous mode, she doesn't start there (see: camilla), and unlike people like Kaze, Corrin or even Silas she doesn't just naturally get there by existing. she's a healer and offers valuable utility to the team... that can replicated by Jakob or Felicia if necessary (unlike Azura). she's a ludicrously powerful player phase nuke... after she promotes. basically those qualifiers are what keep elise where she is
