  1. Oh okay so if I get the special edition on release day then I'd be able to play Revelations straight away. Thank you.
  2. Hey guys sorry if this was asked before, but does anyone know if you can choose to play Revelation from the getgo with the Special Edition? I'm not asking about if you need to wait until a certain date to play it, but like if you haven't beatean Nohr/Hoshido can you play it straight away?
  3. Oh that reminds me, whenever we skip straight to chapter 6, how are unit exps and levels determined?
  4. Well that's alright I guess. I don't mind ditching Frederick too much then. Though I'm really bummed out on feeling forced to use the kids. I was initially doing this Lunatic run for a headcanon run and to improve my skills but it really does feel like I'm being forced into doing a lot of certain things (Low-manning, Kids, dropping characters, water trick, +Def -Spd, etc). There is certainly "strategizing" aspects to the mode but it feels more like you need to abuse gameplay mechanics to get by. I suppose I can always redo for Hard Mode but I don't want to miss out on Lunatic Grima. But I really appreciate the feedback from you guys regarding my Lunatic run! Anyways I'm stuck at Chapter 6 now. At first I tried setting my MU+Chrom (Attacking until Gaius is recruited) on the left side to prevent Gaius from dying, and setting Frederick+Lon'qu (Attacking) on the right side with Lissa+Sumia out-of-range just in case, but Lon'qu keeps getting killed. I then tried setting Frederick up with Chrom and MU to support Lon'qu but he still kept dying. After that I tried turtling near "Marth" but Lon'qu was still dying (and occasionally "Marth"). I lost hope so I didn't try simply soloing with MU+Chrom yet, but that seems like a waste of exp anyways. Here are their stats if it helps. I did manage to get by Chapter 5 without any external help, but I used the Rescue staff from Paralogue 1 to get Ricken and Maribelle to safety, so I'm not sure if this is the standard Lunatic strategy for chapter 5.
  5. (To be fair for Zero's name change, "Zero" just isn't a good name) I've got a word about Luna's and Belka's name changes, but everyone has said what there is to say about those changes. But regarding Mozume, I get the feeling that most English speakers wouldn't be able to get it right. I hear a lot of English speakers pronouncing Kamikaze with a hard E sound (kami-kaz-zee) and that's a word that has become accepted as a loanword in the English language for 60 years now. So if Mozume was kept, people would be calling her Mozu-mee if they didn't know better. (Of course that's not too bad either but welp)
  6. I don't plan to use any 2nd gen children. But yeah if possible, I'd like frederick to be part of my main team through the whole game. He was pretty bad without grinding in one of my previous Hard Mode playthroughs, so is there any way to make him viable in Lunatic?
  7. I decided to give up my Lunatic run (it was only at chapter 5) and restart Lunatic with a +Def/-Luk MU. I gotta say, chapter 1 (the one Sully and Virion joins) was MUCH much easier than before simply because the MU can tank hits now. I don't have great feelings about this though since this feels really forced to simply get by Lunatic mode efficiently. It looks like I might be forced to use the renown Second Seal if I'm supposed to feed as much exp as I can to the MU. When can I start focusing on leveling up my side units? I plan to keep Chrom, Frederick, Lissa, Lon'qu, Cordelia, Sumia, Panne, Nowi, and Gaius.
  8. That was my plan, to do a no-grind Lunatic mode. I had initially wanted to do a no pair-up run as well but these first couple Lunatic map has proved that's going to be impossible for me no matter what. Oh RIP. I'm at the beginning of chapter 5 and my MU is level 10 and Freddie level 6. I did a +Spd -Def so tanking is going to be really rough since Def growth rate is 30%. I had also wanted to not use any renown or bonus box items either. I honestly have no idea if I can get by Lunatic mode. Enemies are numerous and and most have like 28~33 attack or more at chapter 5. I feel like I'm stuck with Frederick+Kellam Pair up. I know Lunatic and up are supposed to be Frederick Emblem for the first couple chapters but I'm kinda losing faith.
  9. I've been looking over some guides/videos for Lunatic mode and most of them were mentioning that it'll be hard until the DLC chapters (the gold and exp ones specifically). I'm a little confused because I thought exp gain is reduced to 1 for non chapter/paralogue maps?
  10. Thank you for the scanslation! dat moldy bread. All this time I was wondering what that 4th icon was and it turned out to be exclusive for amiibos
  11. This game really makes me want SRPG:Studio localized Has anyone noticed that there seems to be three sword icons? One normal one, one red normal one, and one that looks like a broad-sword. Kinda same for the spear except that one has an arrow on it. *edit* Googled Pilium and found out it's a javelin type weapon from TearRing saga. I guess the arrow spear icon is a throwing-spear category. That's kinda neat having so many different weapon categories.
  12. Hello everyone, I have a couple of questions I'd like to ask. 1. Does strategy now revolve around stat-decrements? Many of the new skills and weapons have a lot of stat buffs and debuffs, and absolute damage modification (for example Mirror Strike, which decreases taken magic damage by a whopping 20 when user initiates battle). 1.5. It seems the weapons that decrease stats per use accumulates, so would the stronger weapons only ever be useful when close to finishing a map (less enemies) or when it finishes off the boss (commander and seize maps)? 2. Are the skills that decrease enemy HP after battle valuable (Snake Venom, Four Fangs, Deadly Breath)? 3. How can you farm gold (Hoshido and Revelation)? I've seen some videos where enemies just drop gold without having barter items on hand (bullion), and finishing some chapters flat out give you money. The Great Merchant skill Easy Life has a chance to give you Gold Coins, but those only sell for 300g which doesn't seem like a lot, especially with item prices inflated. The FE14 item page doesn't have any other "bullion" type items so I was curious. 3.5.By extension, how would the Fate's Golden Gaffe DLC version work? Does it have enemies holding the Gold Coins or is it similar to the second sentence where enemies simply drop gold without barter items on hand? Thank you!
  13. Is that Mozume presenting the doria in Asura's strip?
  14. 79,000 something. I got a huge amount on my second playthrough when I was Support-Level hoarding. I'm currently working on a MU (F) Support-Level hoard right now (my official third playthrough). I just finished all the 1st gen males yesterday and now need to do all the females and children. (I'm not doing every father supports because they're generally the same across)
  15. I'd appreciate the help if someone can gauge how difficult it would be to play Lunatic Classic mode with the following conditions (from most important to least important) Units limited to Chrom, Avatar (M, +Spd/-Def), Lissa, Frederick, Gaius, Sumia, Cordelia, Nowi, Lon'qu, and Panne (,and Lucina) No Pair Up No Barracks, Anna sales, Skirmishes, DLC, Spotpass armies, Renown, and Bonus box No Event tiles unless tactically sound (items will be discarded) No DLC I'm want to do a headcanon run and I've never played Lunatic before. I've finished hard mode twice but I did a lot of grinding after finishing Chapter 16 (skill and support log hoarding) so I'm not 100% sure how tactically skilled I am. Should I just do hard mode with these conditions instead?
  16. I heard that people should only focus on a certain amount of units in Lunatic mode and not to deploy all unit spaces during a battle. In the case how many units would you say is optimal for a Lunatic run?
  17. Personally I liked 'if' better than 'fate', but I'm gonna get used to it over time so it doesn't really matter. I do have issues with Conquest and Birthright though. Conquest doesn't have a positive connotation about it compared to Birthright, so for someone who wouldn't know better about if/fate's background, they might think Conquest is the eviler side (doesn't help that the box is darker-themed). Although I am stumped on finding another suitable name for Nohr campaign but just my humble opinion.
  18. Glad to know that I'm not the only one who likes Elise's VA
  19. Leo also sounds more like a commoner (nick)name. Leon at least feels more complete and royal. The Rinkah and Ryoma name changes seems more appropriate for English since 'o' works for the 'oh' sound already without the extra 'u' and the silent 'h' is common place after vowels.
  20. As a casual strategy player, I actually found all these new features increasing the strategy curve. I can't just waltz up to an enemy like in FEA wreck them without looking at enemy weapons and skills.
  21. Anyone know what's the criteria for being named the Heroes after the first battle of every chapter map?
