  1. The suggestion of the Hoshidan king missing a few arrows in his gut made me think it could be a scene a la Game of Thrones's Red Wedding. *WARNING HEADCANON AHEAD* Like, maybe the whole start of the war has to do with originally Hoshidan King was supposed to marry a Nohrian nobility but ended up marrying the Hoshidan Queen due to honor as he had a child with her. When queried by Garon as to why he married Hoshidan Queen he explained the whole child situation to him but Garon refused to believe for reasons unknown, such as suspecting Hoshidan King wanted to call off the peace treaty that would have been forged by his marriage to a Nohrian noble. Hoshidan King wants to salvage peace treaty, so he offers a meeting with Garon to prove that there is in fact a child and possibly discuss a new peace treaty. Garon takes advantage of Hoshidan King's goodwill by inviting him into his country, assassinating him, and seizing the child Kamui as his own kid shortly thereafter. This of course helps to escalate the conflict between Nohr and Hoshido because Garon at some point decided he had enough of Hoshido's existence and decides to try and completely wipe out Hoshido. That whole headcanon doesn't take the idea that there might be something going on with Hoshido behind the scenes that might warrant an even bigger reason Nohr dislikes them so much other than simple !racism! but I digress. It's also because I couldn't think of a reason why Hoshido would be morally grey in that situation other than going back on political promises.
  2. My husband's in the military and typically has a 5 o'clock shadow by noon. He usually shaves every day (due to stubble forming by then) and used to have horrible issues with razorburn. However, one of his buddies recommended he get his shaving supplies from http://groominglounge.com/and since then his problems have become very seldom, usually on a day that he has to rush shaving because of sleeping through alarms and stuff. Highly recommend, especially since before he started using shaving supplies from there I wasn't even allowed to touch his face due to how sore it was, and now I am.
  3. Er, Elibe has Fa, who's a manakete and she looks more like a fluffy goose than a dragon. Also, Kamui's dragon form reminds me of both Ninian's dragon form and Idoun. Granted, neither of them were in a "manakete" class in their games BUT Fa is still a manakete and doesn't fit the look of "basic dragon." I have a feeling Kamui's real parents are neither Hoshidan or Nohrian, though. Somehow it'll be explained that Kamui was found in Hoshido like baby Moses in a basket or something but appeared to be of Hoshidan descent, and then of course the kidnapping by Nohr.
  4. I want more hair/eye shape options than Awakening. I was rather sad that the only way you could get that cool crown thing on the medium height FeMU in Awakening was to have eyes that I didn't really like. (Give me big innocent eyes any day over slit-like scowly eyes pls!) Also, with hair options give us more pony tail options! I HATED the fact that the only good single pony tail option for any height FeMU was the tallest one and had ridiculous amounts of volume in it. Can we have hair options that don't look like they weigh the same as a small child? Also, long hair for MaMui would be nice, too. As well as a tall bishie look. (I seem to recall MaMU's tall option had like the face of Testosterone McManly Man)
  5. I never thought to try that, since I just assumed the BX was more or less a military Wal Mart, and I've never noticed preorders being advertised. I'll be going on base later this week so I'll go ask!
  6. I'd like to see her back honestly. Maybe not as a playable character but if they bring back how secret shops worked in Awakening (on the Hoshido side) I'd like to get to see her. Heck, if they need voices for the shopkeepers again just recycle her lines from Awakening :v
  7. Maybe they could bring back the "Base" mechanic from PoR/RD where you have several options as to what to do before a battle, and one of the options could be like "Travel to the Outrealm Gate" where you can activate/play DLC. I'm hoping that on the Nohr side you can freely traverse the World Map after defeating the final boss. It'd make sense if the reason why you couldn't freely travel had to do with something like "Due to your decision there are several Hoshidan assassins trying to kill Kamui and now Nohr finds the easiest way to protect Kamui is to have him stay under cover until peace rolls around again." Also because if I play Nohr I want to be able to train my streetpass team during the postgame, assuming Streetpass works the same way.
  8. I have to say that the only notable FE characters I can think of that I got the gender wrong at first glance were Midayle and Lucius, and I'm coughing Lucius up to the fact that the first time I saw him was when I was playing FE7 at the age of 12, and didn't have any experience ever seeing androgynous people before. Midayle was from a lack of information when he was first shown and also because in the initial cutscene I thought they were the earlygame flier you could get. Tsubaki though is definitely coming off as male to me though. A long look at its portrait you can see that first of all, it has a rather thick neck, which is uncommon in FE women. Also the clothing it is wearing comes off rather masculine to me at least anyways. But man, I wish I could hair like Tsubaki's in real life, I'd totally rock that style. :v
  9. Guys, you should stop arguing and just accept a difference of opinions. If you can't why not take it to PMs where it's not like you're airing dirty laundry? So what if it doesn't meet your expectations, it's not like we were told the game was going to be set in a medieval European area and then took it to Mars or something. All we were told was that it was a crossover between SMT and FE, with no details as to what the game would be like, plot, gameplay, or otherwise. Why not just be glad there's any news after two years of nothingness? ;-;
  10. When playing emulated games on my computer I abuse cheats a significant amount of the time If I think one of the characters is an attractive male in one of the games I like keeping him single unless if there's a MU/Avatar option, in which he quickly becomes my husbando I've never had a decent Hector in my no-cheats runs of FE7 I prefer Eirika over Ephraim in FE8 because she doesn't have a crappy speed cap I liked the SMTxFE trailer in the 4/1 Nintendo Direct I didn't like mercs/heroes until Awakening, and even then I don't use them that often in games that come before it I've never beat the Black Knight in PoR I like Micaiah (Although I did used to hate her, as I grew up she grew on me.)
  11. Placeholder maybe? Or someone who has similar physical attributes to him. But placeholders on unreleased games is nothing new. What I'm curious about is who the Tharja-esque lady is. I'd hope she's not like Tharja as a character though. (Please don't hate me T_T) When I enable "casual" mode on GBA games (cause sometimes I just wanna play one of them without the effort of beating it) I usually make it so weapons don't break. Not to mention unbreakable weapons in casual would just open up a world of possibilities in the skill books when I just want to dick around ingame for a bit. If certain staves were unbreakable though... that would prove to be extremely, incredibly broken.
  12. I never played a SMT or Persona game but I don't get all this hate. After all, I was shocked to hear of a SMT crossover with FE specifically because what I knew of SMT was that it was based in modern day. I had no expectations going into this as the first trailer came off to me as extremely bare bones proof of concept-y. Meanwhile this shows a lot more and honestly, I'm kindof excited for this now, because it looks fairly lighthearted and fun. People are saying about how they wouldn't want to be caught playing this in public, which I'm kinda confused cause its a console game? Regardless, despite it coming off extremely animesque, I like it for that reason. Looks like a lighthearted fun adventure and I can't wait to play.
  13. We need an option of Team Undecided! Since I have no idea who I'll side with first, designwise neither side is calling out to me other than maybe that dude with the red haired ponytail. Hopefully with the translation of the special edition section of the official site it means the west is getting the "Special Edition" game card with all three scenarios on it.
  14. I just hope Nohr isn't like Lunatic mode difficulty. I want to get all the story and I'm only an "okay" FE player dammit. Inb4 someone LTCs Nohr mode and its easier to LTC than Hoshido mode.
  15. What would be interesting is if you had to team up against the final boss is if the game recognized which countries people from your final team are from, and then a comment be made from people of the other country notice that your final boss team is heavily balanced towards one side, almost implying that Kamui is biased towards a certain country and want that particular country to be remembered in the history books as the one who had most of the glory in saving the world or whatnot. Probably wouldn't happen since IS wants FE games to end on a happy note but it would be an interesting moment to have.
  16. Question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6fY6CUEYgw At 1:08:21 there is a long haired person that speaks with a male sounding voice that appears to be holding a lance. Someone translated their name as Tsubaki, which I think is a female name? What gender, and what class could this person be? (Male pegasus rider? Male cavalier? Or just abnormally male sounding female?)
  17. Can anyone make out the character that transforms into a dragon during the trailer? Looked like Kamui but I can't get my computer to pause fast enough. Also Q_Q I totally husbando'd male!Kamui and he's an Avatar...
  18. Anyone that understands Japanese can make out what all is included in the special edition? It looks like the last item on the list is an artbook, and the first item looks likely to be the game itself (duh) but what's the middle item? Special Edition 3DS?
  19. For me product placement needs to be plausible for the situation, and not be in your face. Feature a montage of a college student cramming for an exam? Fine, he can have Maruchan noodles in a cup and be working on a mac. Same kid goes to a wild party after said exam? Okay, Bud or Nattie Light and of course beer pong featuring Solo Cups. Mario driving a Mercedes? Aw hell no. He doesn't even fit in the car! Also the rumor I heard that there are going to be Coleman brand products in Final Fantasy 15 to me seems a bit immersion breaking. Unless if they explain that they're actually on Earth (which I don't know yet because I haven't paid much attention to what the game's plot is about yet) I'd be rather annoyed. Also if they're adapting from a book series please for the love of God if the book series uses product placement somehow at least get the product placement in the adaptation of it right too.
  20. My biggest passion is spending time with my cat, along with enjoying other aspects of my new life. But the cat's the biggest one. She's so cute and fluffy, and watching what she does when I'm not cuddling her is fascinating. I also enjoy watching/playing and analyzing anime and video games, identifying the tropes within a series and whatnot. It's just that after a while I need to take a break because I'll get "hung" on a single series/game and can't move on. I used to love going to ice hockey games as well but due to moving into an area that only has a team with a fanbase of a couple hundred I've lost my passion for that until I can go to games with a bigger crowd, which will luckily be by sometime in the next season or so.
  21. Ah, alright, thanks! Hopefully everything works out in time!
  22. Hacking community make this happen for all the lols! (And if this is legit well dang. I'd pay money just out of sheer curiosity!)
  23. Indeed. Radiant Dawn is one of my favorites to play for the mechanics, since mechanically speaking, I had to think hard as to who is my least favorite that way. About the only problem I have with RD's mechanics is the support system is meh, I prefer more indepth supports than "How's the battle going?" "Pretty good! Don't die out there!" "Okay!" But then again that loops back to the writing issue.
  24. Replying to these real quick since I didn't get to stay around long after posting earlier. First and foremost, RD is a sequel on a separate console from its predecessor, and while said predecessor was compatible with Wii games, by the time I got my hands on Radiant Dawn most major game chains were discontinuing carrying Gamecube games. So getting my hands on a copy of Path of Radiance was a feat to begin with since the only game stores in my hometown until two years ago were Gamestop and EB Games. Secondly, big YES to what Jave said. Even the tiniest amount of detail in things that the game forces you to read can go a long way. Also, the Ace Attorney series was an example I was going to list on how to exposition a cast in a sequel so its friendly to newcomers, since I had no idea which order to play the games in, and accidentally started on the second game in the series. (I quickly fixed that mistake when I realized.) However, in what I played I knew who each character was, why they were there, and even some character quirks. Radiant Dawn? After the little "Saving Lucia" scene most of the characters that didn't make it onto my final roster I forgot who they were and they surprised me on my second playthrough when they showed up. You can take ten minutes of exposition and it will go a long, long way in any game, as long as you utilise it well. EDIT: Sorry for posting so late, just wanted to add a few more points to my original post since I was afk during some arguments after.
  25. As someone who played RD before PoR, I was confused by the sudden "Greil Mercs are now the main characters" plot. The game gives you 11 chapters of playing around and building up the Dawn Brigade as THE MCs, saviors of Daein and now heavily influencing Daein politics as of P1 Endgame's conclusion. I enjoyed part 2 as while it was happening I assumed that it would help build up the conflict that took up the rest of the plot, and getting away from using the same 10 people was refreshing since it forced me out of my comfort bubble I had with previous FE titles. That novelty wore off by the end of part 2 since I was wondering when I could start relying on a core set of characters again and also was wondering what the Dawn Brigade was up to. (Although missing out on most of the reconstruction of Daein at least kept the plot moving.) Then part 3 rolls around and it becomes the Greil Mercs show. Very little explanation is given for newcomers to catch up on why Ike&co have their views as they do, and if you're completely new to Tellius like I was at the time, it takes a bit of internet research to be caught up on more plot than just "Greil mercs defeated Ashnard in the past and now a bunch of people like them." I was more invested in Skrimir's character development than someone who had FE MC Blue hair dye. IMO, by the way the plot builds, Mickey should have been the one to deal the finishing blow to Ashera. She's being used by Yune as her mouthpiece and has had more of a connection with Mickey than Ike. About the only reason I can see why they decided Ike MUST be the one to land the finishing blow is that there is a much better chance of Ike actually being able to damage Ashera as opposed to the possibility that Mickey might be hitting 0s on her, especially with how little attention is given to the Dawn Brigade after part 1. It took much babying and focus on Edward to give him the EXP he needed to become a Trueblade and therefore viable in part 4. With Micaiah, my first playthrough she was only level 5 when her forced promotion into T3 hit, because she was too squishy to get near actual combat. Plot wise, I dislike all of the Greil Mercs, including Ike. The devs assume you played PoR and therefore will give a darn about them, only giving Ike and Soren enough fleshing out to fill up cutscenes and give reason why Ike is a forced character. Gameplay wise, my least favorite is probably Sothe. Forced character likely to omnomnom much of the exp the rest of the DB desperately needs, and by T3 his class instantly gets outclassed by Volke in everything, especially the class skill. And if you wanted to take Volke to the Tower you're going to end up with two knife users, which sucks because knives are a subpar weapon when you could be using swords/lances/axes/etc.
