  1. So just gotta say I still can't unsee Rinkah's sprite as wearing a cowboy hat.
  2. So now we're at the part that Treehouse already streamed, in case anyone needs to get coffee/caffeine/hype train nourishment
  3. Is that human girl Lilith in human form?
  4. So the choice chapter is also used as a premonition like awakening?
  5. How do you get the stream to work? I got chat running but no video or sound
  6. Actual carts iirc. I'll go looking for the news from back then and edit this post with the link when I find it. The guy had set up an entire instagram and leaked Chesnaught early among a few other things about the game. It was apparently a mom-and-pop video game store that had broken street date and likely got slapped with a hefty fine for doing so and OMG 5 NEW REPLIES EDIT: Here's a news article about the leak, dated October 3rd 2013. Remember Pokemon X and Y had a worldwide release on October 12 2013 http://www.gamnesia.com/news/massive-pokemon-x-and-y-leak-spoilers-inside#.VYjwmPlViko
  7. HI GUESTS! But seriously did the people posting get taken down by Nintendo or something? I remember them coming down hard on the people who got Pokemon X and Y a few days early and actually took their copies. Normally leakers are much more enthusiastic about posting literally everything about a game when they get it before street date...
  8. Hmmm... I'd say the ones that if you have any semblance of an idea about mainstream video games that you should know about are Final Fantasy, Mario, Pokemon, World of Warcraft, and Halo/Call of Duty. Reasons: Final Fantasy: Least likely to be recognized on this list, but definitely a series that has enough mainstream spotlight that it is difficult to not know about. Easily the most well-known JRPG series of all time Mario: Nintendo's mascot, and they're not going to let us forget him any time soon. I had read that he was more recognizable worldwide than Mickey Mouse for a period of time around the 90s. Pokemon: Between the toys, games, and TV show, at the very least most people with a kid have heard of the little yellow mouse in some shape or form. Very user-friendly to simply pick up and play, with a meta that does not render it irrelevant to older crowds into competitive battling WoW: If someone mentions MMOs, WoW is certainly going to come up in some context, whether it's the fans that have stuck with it for ten years or the people who can't stand that WoW revolutionized MMOs in such a manner that most newer MMORPGs have a multitude of similar features from the word go. Halo/Call of Duty: I consider these both to be the same when it comes to recognition, as when you hear about FPS games and the current gaming scene, chances are most people who helped bring gaming into the mainstream have played one of the two. Also the fact that when news outlets report on any connection between video games and violence both titles are extraordinarily likely to be mentioned, and clumped together as a result. Lastly, not mentioned on my initial list but Windows Solitare is another game that literally everyone with a computer, gamer or non-gamer, should know.
  9. Obviously we need to have double of EVERYONE and see if we can literally kill ourselves without suicide
  10. It's actually the whole week, cause my best friend is getting married/moving away in the next week and my only times to post are early morning/later at night currently haha I just don't know what exactly is going on that day other than I'm helping
  11. I believe in one of the directs it was used as background for the explanation segment of the trailer. (It was a JP only portion I believe, but I might be wrong)
  12. Cool! Was hoping that was the case. Wouldn't be a HUGE deal if they left the hair static, but it is one of those makes-it-prettier type things that I always enjoy in games. Although FF15's engine for hair just might be overdoing that, but that's not related to this game I do wonder what the 3D effects will look like in the consumer copies. I mean, I'll be turning them off after about an hour of play just to not go derp eyed and only turning them back on for the cutscenes, but I do know that in Awakening Chapter 10, the final chapter, and Death's Embrace looked super sharp. Only combat didn't look as nice, but I think that was more a case of I had trouble seeing straight from my eyes not being able to focus, though maybe getting a N3DS might help that. The pixel sprites on the 3D maps though were pretty neat.
  13. Nowi! It'd be like taking a kid to Disney World except she can probably survive the Florida heat without a temper tantrum :D not to mention she'd totally appreciate it, I bet WCWY think would be the best at nursing you back to health from a hangover?
  14. "Hey sex- YOU'RE NOT EPHRAIM!" "I swear to god, if you tell me to make you a sandwich one more time...!" Also, why is Eirika holding two swords?
  15. >one broach is pinkish-red >one broach is blue >Ruby/Sapphire >we Pokemon now So, a couple things that bugged me about E3: In battle how people just sort of appeared - please tell me we're going to have better animations and that was just an earlier developer's build? Also Azura's hair seemed REALLY stiff when she appeared in the Hoshido side, and I seem to remember people like Cordelia and Lucina having at least some jointing in their hair for animations. Will that also be addressed? It just seems awkward how stiff it was considering in the CGs her hair is extremely fluid. I'm not asking for anything ridiculous for how her hair should move aside from it would help for it to have a bit of sway in it.
  16. Could it be that the dragonstone has a lowered ability to double attack like the Steel Sword though? We never really saw Kamui's stats but we know that there are effects like that attached to weapons; it could just be that they needed a way to keep early/midgame dragonstone from being too OP.
  17. Oh, that reminds me of one last point I didn't touch on in my rant because I got distracted irl: Amiibo. Currently, I rather dislike the system and wish we had more than just the figurines to unlock the DLC behind them. On the other hand, I love the concept because that means that many characters who wouldn't have official figurines otherwise (the Fire Emblem crew, Star Fox, Samus, and Kid Icarus cast to name a few) now have them. On the other hand, Nintendo really screwed up the distribution, alongside of locking exclusive DLC to figures that some people will never see because of their rarity. In the short run, this sucks hard, and many people who have FEFates will not be able to access things such as the confirmed Marth's Tiara item. In the long run? If Nintendo thinks things through, they'll continue to reprint amiibo whose initial demand was not met until there's a significant drop in demand of those particular ones. Until that demand is met, though, it would be nice if the DLC hidden behind the amiibo were available for a discounted rate to those of us who have not managed to get our hands on the amiibo that unlocks them. Now that's kinda mean Of course, I'm simply excited for the game because I never played FF7 and now I'd rather wait for the remake than buy a used copy. I want to see what all the hype's about! However, it'll be amusing for the salt that's inevitable after its release...
  18. The gamer entitlement is so strong and obnoxious right now. I bet everyone's going to be mad at the FF7 remake when it comes out because it's either too similar and wasn't innovative enough, or too different and supposedly shatters everyone's rose-tinted glasses for the game. When it comes to Nintendo I don't think they realize that Nintendo's still sitting on a huge lump of cash that dates back to their playing card days. They can afford to have the occasional flop, and their reaching into the mobile market is likely a ploy to bring more people in to buy consoles as opposed to "Oh no, they're not making enough money so they're making mobile games now to pick up the difference!" I don't know about Square, but I know my playing Final Fantasy Record Keeper has enticed me into buying more than the FF titles I already own due to the structure of that game. That's what Nintendo's doing. Most kids' first system that can play video games these days is not a Vita or a 3DS or even a console, it's a smartphone or tablet. If Nintendo can somehow get that kid to play Mario on mom or dad's phone, that kid might eventually ask mom and dad to buy a 3DS or Wii U so they can play Mario without the stamina or life refills. Meanwhile with current titles having something objectionable, for example marriage and future kids in FE, it's annoying as heck to weed through all the rage and hate for the mechanic. I'll still buy both versions even though I don't like future kids, because I enjoy Fire Emblem gameplay more than I hate the kid mechanic being in games other than Awakening. I also understand why they brought the kids into this game: it's more likely than not that marriage and kids helped push copies of Awakening. And guess what? Awakening was the biggest hit in the series, bigger than even Marth's games. Investors likely saw that and corporate asked IS to keep kids because they helped sell copies of the last game. We can only hope they're given a better reason to be in this war than loltimetravel. Tl;dr: Mobile games could lead to higher console sales, and FE:A style kids are likely here to stay for a bit.
  19. Anyone have a link for people who weren't able to be there live?
  20. Except we didn't know about Grima until Chapter 13, other than there was something causing the Risen to appear? I personally think there's more than the Nohr/Hoshido conflict going on considering Aqua's glowy purple problem and the Faceless that are appearing. Most FE games that have monsters, the monsters tie to the final boss in some way. (I say most because I have not played FE2)
  21. Marx > Xander was the strangest of the name changes to me, but it makes sense due to the connections westerners would have with the name Marx. Them shortening the Hoshido names really annoys me though, Suzukaze seemed really simple to begin with =/ Like, Rinka>Rinkah makes sense so that the proper pronunciation is conveyed, but things like shortening Suzukaze to Kaze and Yagotami to Yago seem a bit unnecessary. Kamui>Corrin is also a confusing name change, since to me it doesn't keep Kamui sounding like s/he came from Hoshido. However, at least that one is slightly forgivable in the sense that Corrin can be a gender neutral name in the west. at least they didn't choose something like Taylor or Jordan
  22. As long as we have no time-travelling children hijinks I'm okay with S supports coming back. First because in GBA games when you only had up to 1 A and 1 B max, that meant that you sometimes had to choose between better positioning or support bonuses, while with everyone being able to at least A support you can position however you want and still be able to get support bonuses if you were close enough together. (Which, granted, was nerfed from 3-range to 1 range afaik due to the fact that you could have supports built with everyone.) Meanwhile S supports means you'll get a slightly better buff from one specific character, alongside of getting an ending thrown in for good measure. I don't see it too much as waifu pandering (since, as long as you can't S rank the Nohr kids, the two biggest waifu archetypes are in that group) but the fact that romance has been in the FE games since FE1, a game that didn't even have supports, with Marth and Caeda. While the player did not have a character to romance any of the other characters until FE12, it's a logical conclusion to let the player character also have the option of romance.
  23. What Thane said. I believe Vincent even made a post stating that there was no leak at all yesterday, not of FE stuff or of any other part of Famitsu.
